Well, this was certainly going better than expected. Aoife had honestly expected Whitaker's to put up a bit of a better fight, but then again, smashing a locker into a group of people was quite the distraction. Atlas really ought to try weaponising those things, it seemed right up their alley.

Pulled ought of her thoughts by the sight of Rory charging into the fray, Aoife turned her attention back to business. With Mythos pinned down, the course of action seemed pretty clear. Lining up the sights of her rifle, Aoife fired a quick burst at the pair by the locker; more to scare them a bit than do any real harm, and then turned her attention, and the rest of the gun's ammo, onto the poor unfortunate soul that decided to focus on Mythos and not her. It was a shame that her earlier assault had emptied most of the bullets, else he would have been in real trouble. Not that he had much of a chance regardless.

Discarding the now empty rifle, Aoife took off in the direction of Royale and his opponent, trusting in the other's to handle the locker stunned goons. She wasn't planning on jumping in, but flanking to the side and preventing any sort of getaway.

My bad for taking so long to respond to this, but we all know how midterms and Christmas can be. Some things just couldn't be avoided. Sorry

"I will try not to be disappointed by this Saffron, truly I will", Anton sarcastically grinned as she helped him mount her chosen animal. Indeed there were worse ways to go up a mountain than this; better too, though Anton preferred not to think of those lest his distaste for the situation grows too apparent. Better to maintain civility than promote hostility, or something to that effect anyway.

Taking the time Saffron spent talking to Diana to find a comfortable way to keep his cane close to hand that also afforded some semblance of balance, Anton almost slipped off of the horse in surprise when Saffron hopped up behind him. Humming in response to the girl's idea for them to take point, Anton chose to close his eyes temporarily and just get used to the motion of a horse underneath him, only opening them when he felt Saffron draw and display her weapon for him and the others.

When she finished, he lifted his sceptre up and out to the side for all to see, before offering it to Saffron if she cared for a closer look. "I am a dust caster preferentially, though I can enter close combat if necessary. Under ideal circumstances, I'll stick to the sides of an engagement and support as required""

Rubbing the sleep from her eyes, Aoife let out an unwomanly groan as she got to her feet. She hadn't been doing much in the way of sleeping during the night, her unfamiliarity with heights playing with her nerves just enough to keep any slips into slumber short and not at all sweet. For the last hour, Aoife had been bouncing between artists on her scroll without any sort of coherent pattern, the music audible to anyone sitting close to her. It was a nice surprise that she was able to even make use of the headphones, but a flight across the continent had some benefits, it seemed.

Snorting as she made her way past Tieren and his brand new headache, Aoife grabbed one of the cups of tea Sophos had left out for them and downed it immediately, gasping as the liquid travelled its scalding path through her body. "Oh that'll wake a person up alright. Nice choice Doc", she exclaimed while walking back to her seat and grabbing her rifle. Settling down, Aoife began performing the last minute checks on her gun, making certain the red dot sight was still working properly and that there weren't any issues with the trigger and safety. Her revolver wouldn't need any checks, she'd completely dismantled and cleaned it the day before, and Aoife knew it was in perfect condition.

Checking her equipment, though, gave her another opportunity to look over her new team. Mae seemed nice, almost suffocatingly so, reminding Aoife of a stereotypical best friend that you'd find on some TV show. Gavin, too, had given the opinion of being a nice guy, even if she'd given him a bit of a cold shoulder before. Sue her, she was tired, everyone knows you become ruder when you were tired, it was scientific fact.

Tieren seemed less of a sweetheart than the others, but that may have just been the situation at hand. He had to have something going for him if he'd been made team leader, after all, so Aoife, deciding to give the whole nice thing a go, threw him a bone. Well, a bone by her standards anyway.

"How's the head, Argus? Sword knock the cobwebs loose?".

Aoife swore violently once more as she watched Winston collapse and choke on his own blood, feeling firey rage explode in her heart. It'd been boiling since Royale's revelation that he'd expected there to be some sort of fight, but the death of an innocent man sent her over the edge. Well, not innocent really, but he didn't deserve to die, not like that, and it was more than enough to blow any of Aoife's prior shocks and concerns out of the water in favour of wholeheartedly tearing these guys apart. Funny how cold-blooded murder was all it took to become a fair target.

Stepping up beside the doorway as she waited for Rory's plan to come to fruition, Aoife saw an opportunity to cause a bit more ruckus. Leaving her newly acquired rifle in her off hand and drawing her revolver, she pointed into the room at an angle and took a deep breath. A faint red light began to trace its way down along Aoife's arm, over her hand and into her gun, turning the barrel into a weak torch almost, before she pulled the trigger. The light, now much brighter, erupted from the Ace of Roses and tore through the doorway and across the room, ricochetting off of the opposing wall and the ceiling to then bounce off of the head on one of the guards on the androgynous person's right, where it continued to bounce harmlessly around the room until it shot through one of the windows.

Aoife took the ensuing chaos as a chance to pop around the doorway and use her new rifle to lay down some suppressing fire on the guards to her right, aiming to give the others some breathing room to advance to a better position.

Anton had taken the time during the flight to slip into something warmer, not being particularly interested in observing the view, swapping his suit jacket for a sweater and a heavier overcoat, and adding a pair of woollen gloves and a thick hat for good measure. He certainly wasn't regretting his choice as he stepped down from the vehicle. Though Atlas born he may have been, he certainly could not say that the cold had never bothered him. It was a tiny part of why he'd opted to study at Beacon; the more temperate climate suited him far better than Atlas ever did.

One thing Anton did regret, however, was the horses. They certainly were not mentioned beforehand. He stepped over to one tenderly as the others busied themselves with their luggage and conversation, and gently held his hand out towards it, flinching back slightly as the animal butted his hand with its head before acquiescing to the touch. Anton slowly petted the horse as he stepped around it to secure his luggage as Saffron had done.

"As it happens, I've never encountered a horse before today. There was never much of an interest in equine events in my household back in Atlas, so I apologise if I end up slowing us down", Anton calmly responded to Saffron's inquiry. Well, it appeared calm, though someone with a sharper eye could notice his hand moved a touch more aggressively along the horse's head as he maintained his petting. It rankled Anton that he was a liability at such an early stage in the journey, even though he could never have expected to be required to know how to ride an animal of any kind.

I completely forgot to respond to this, my bad! I'm willing to let Anton take leadership if it suited everyone?

"Of course, go right ahead", Anton hummed as he slipped his cane under his arm and picked up both of their luggage, and with everyone either wrapped up in their own conversations or heading there too, followed Saffron to the airship, bypassing Erikson with only a simple nod of recognition. Lawyers were tolerable only when you were paying them directly, Anton had found, and even then they were second only to politicians in terms of how utterly repulsive they could be.

Settling Saffron's luggage into place, Anton took the seat opposite, resting his cane between his legs. With warmer apparel left in the top of his suitcase, he felt comfortable remaining in his dark suit for the time being. He'd only brought enough clothes for a few days, so he hoped that the village had a good dry cleaner. Before that, though, would be a long flight, so Anton settled back into his seat, ready to banter with his fellows. He also planned to keep an eye on Blair during the trip, in case anything or anyone upset her. It always paid to stay in the leader's good books, after all.

Nodding quietly, Aoife followed Rory down the hall, stepping past the injured guard and making her way towards the rifleman. She crouched down long enough to pick up his rifle, keeping her weapon trained on him the whole time. "Gimme your ammo pal, you don't need it anymore" she said, doing her best to maintain her control of both her emotions and the situation. It wouldn't do to let her shock at the sudden death inject any weakness into her voice, not now. Aoife needed to be in control.

After he'd passed over any ammo left on his person, Aoife sent him down to the office with a nod of her head, taking the chance to shoulder her personal weapon in favour of looking the rifle over. Throwing a glance Rory's way, she turned to face the hallway, making certain no one was going to try to ambush them. It also gave her a chance to centre herself, taking a few deep breaths and suppressing the maelstrom of emotions inside her for now. Later though, Aoife promised herself that Royale was going to get one hell of an earful from her, once the everything was sorted out.

"Perhaps I might even oblige these requests, Saffron. We will have to see what happens on the road", Anton smirked back at Saffron, letting his semblance kick into gear, just to see how she'd react more so than anything. While he waited for everyone to complete their introductions, he took the opportunity to extend his hand to everyone who had arrived later than himself. They seemed a good group, even if he had only really heard about them through the grapevine, Sandy and Acero moreso than Diana or Blair, thanks to that little mishap during a sparring match.

Having taken the opportunity to size everyone up a bit, Anton turned back to Blair. "Yes, actually, I did. My knowledge of the area isn't as good as I wish it was, so I was curious as to how long we would be utilising the aforementioned horses?", he smiled warmly as he spoke. It was less that he was concerned about the temperature, being from Atlas, than he was about the horses themselves. One's first time riding a horse was probably not supposed to be up a mountain. Besides, if the trip proved fruitful, Anton's father may be interested in Felwinter, so a good report would be necessary.

It'd been far too long since Anton had a chance to go on a proper trip somewhere that wasn't some political machination of his parents or a mission for the Academy, and Anton couldn't deny that he was thrilled at the prospect. Certainly there would be some manner of combat involved, he had been hired as an escort, but the goal was reaching Felwinter, not the destruction of a nest of Grimm, so it wouldn't be so strenuous a trip as it could be, which Anton was rather thankful for. Nothing ruined a scenic mountain holiday more than Grimm trying to murder you.

As for why he'd been chosen to join Lady Felwinter on her journey, Anton couldn't say. Perhaps it was to do with his name and nothing more, some political ploy he hadn't been informed of. Or there was simply no one else available at the time. Either way, Anton was going to aid Lady Felwinter as best he could, however he could.

With a suitcase full of spare clothes and Dust trailing behind him, Anton strolled up to Blair and Saffron, extending his hand to each of them in turn. "Lady Felwinter, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, though I do wish it were under brighter circumstances. While I'm sure you're already aware, I'm here if you require anything. Don't hesitate to ask", he gently murmured to Blair, before smiling warmly at Saffron. "This offer also extends to you, Miss...?"

The sight of blood splattering across a window was oddly hypnotic, Aoife couldn't help but think. Well, hypnotic might not be the word. Mesmerising pehaps, closely followed by horrible and disgusting. Still, despite the shock that had sent her heart into overdrive, despite the fear and anger that were screaming and roaring in her head, blocking out Royale's voice, and despite the fact her breakfast was attempting to fight it's way out of her body, she couldn't take her eyes off of the blood. That man was dead, and it was her fault. If she had only fired one shot, then Mythos' bullet would've only broken his aura. "What the fu-!", she began to yell, only for the stream of automatic fire to cut her off.

Right, that's right, still on the job. Still surrounded by enemies. Somehow, the idea of fighting was actually reassuring. Maybe the idea of only having to act, not think, was soothing in some way. Whatever it was, Aoife took her newfound sense of not wanting to scream, and used it to fall in beside Rory, ready to pull him back if need by, while also keeping an eye on the window.

Shaking his head as he stepped away from the hedge, Gwylan let his eyes run over Aurora as he waited for the girls to get to the top, just in case one of them slipped and needed a dashing hero to catch them. "You say that like I wasn't already, Aurora".

Giving himself a shorter run up than Nero, Gwylan leaped up and caught onto the hedge just as the girls reached the top, and started his climb. As it turns out, climbing a bush was vaguely similar to climbing a net, if a bit more stable thanks to the lack of waves. Perhaps a beach vacation was in order, when they had some free time of course.

Credit where credit was due, Whitaker knew how to pull off the dramatic exit. Still a monumental tool though, but he had style. Aoife really wished she could do the whole vanish into the air thing, it'd be a killer at parties. Speaking of killing parties.

Aoife pushed off of the wall, spinning on her left heel to properly face the room, the guns more specifically. Instinct and adrenaline took control of her body as Aoife unholstered and flicked the safety off of her gun in one swift movement. Her first shot was aimed at the guard opposite's torso, though rather inaccurate if truth be told, a "warning shot", if one could call it that if it was aimed at a person. Her second, immediately after, was aimed right between his eyes, with the hope of putting him down, either with a concussion or as a corpse.

It took all of Aoife's willpower to keep her gun trained on the targets, the suddenness of the realisation that she fired a kill shot at someone slamming into her harder than she expected. This had gotten very out of hand, very quickly.

Aoife couldn't stop herself rolling her eyes at Mythos. It sounded like she'd read that nonsense about being the 'world's noblest fighters' straight outta an advert for Atlas Academy, it reeked of bullcrap.

As did this situation, now that Aoife was inside and able to have a look around. For such an important man, Royale didn't get much of an entrance committee. A couple of guards and that was it. No assistant or internal management of any kind to ply platitudes and reports onto the man, nor any kind of fanfare. Either the movies got this stuff wrong or Royale wasn't a particularly wanted man in these parts. Aoife couldn't help but feel on edge by it, even if it was, logically, just her being a bit paranoid about the job.

Choosing to wait by the office entrance and look behind them, Aoife slipped in last, and leaned sideways beside the now closed door with her arms folded, the picture of nonchalance.
