Beacon Academy / Rustled Feathers [4/4 FULL]
« on: April 17, 2017, 01:13:29 PM »
Training Room, Beacon, 7 AM.

Reginald stands in the entrance to the room, yawning. His hair is a slight mess this morning, and there are bags under the walking penis's eyes. For months now he's had to not be a total dick to every person he's met. It's been somewhat draining and he still slips up plenty of times. Today, Silica's said he'll finally learn some kind of lesson. A lesson in humility.

Just as the asshole was prepared to turn around and leave, seeing that his assistant wasn't present, a heeled kick-shove from behind made him stumble forward and fall face-first onto the floor.

"Gah! How dare you-" He begun, trying to get back up on his feet while tripping over his cape in his current groggy state.

"Shut up and listen up, you fuckin' pansy. Today you're gonna learn how to be less of a little bitch. To do this, you're gonna fight. And not with your stupid ass gun. It's either gonna be with your daggers or with your fists. You'll probably get your ass handed to you either way, so buckle the fuck up." As Silica said all this, she moved into the room, taking a seat on a nearby bench, crossing one leg over the other.

Reggie finally made it up on his two legs, blinking slowly. "...What?"

"You'll be challenging whoever comes through that door next to a fight, whether you want to our not. And lose the damn cape already. With that, the woman produced a magazine, seemingly no longer paying the slightest bit of attention to her 'master'. Meanwhile the disowned brat simply stared at the entrance, swallowing the saliva which had started to collect at the back of his throat. This was not going to be fun, was it?

CHARACTER

Name: Silica Methiviola

Theme:Fall Out Boy - Uma Thurman

Age: 29

Species and Gender: Female Human

Symbol:  None

Occupation: Servant to the Royale family. Reginald Royale's resentful assistant.

Appearance: Silica is, most of the time, a rather average looking woman most often seen in business attire. Her common outfit consists of a pencil skirt, blouse, cardigan and high-heeled shoes at work, and her white hair is done up in a high ponytail reaching back down to her shoulders.

When she gets to have some time off, however, she often lets her hair out, turning it a shade of violet, and dresses much more casually. This often involves cropped tank tops, short shorts, occasionally jeans or leggings and running shoes.

Though she isn't exactly a combatant, she has a bit of experience, and thus has a set of combat attire as well. This consists of a pair of blue jeans, a tank top, boots and fingerless elbow gloves. Her hair is usually made orange and made into a compact bun on her head.

History: Silica was the child of a small business owner in Atlas and her husband, a soldier in the Atlesian military. Her father was a war veteran, and didn't want their daughter to have anything to do with the army and fighting, so he let her mother decide on raising her for the most part. As a result, she studied plenty of arithmetic, physics, history and natural sciences, making her pretty knowledgeable and well-versed in the matters of the world.

When she was 17, her mother had her travel the world to see it for all its glory and shame. The trip was going smoothly and without much to note about it, with her visiting Vale and, briefly, Vacuo. Her visit of Mistral, however, was different. She had already met many of her mother's business partners during her travels, and thus far they had all been rather dull people. The man she met there was different, and his name was Marvin Royale.

She immediately felt a liking towards him, and he convinced her to ditch her entourage for a night, disguising herself with her semblance. Marvin showed her around the less tourist-friendly parts of Mistral. She was quite taken aback by all of this, having lived a relatively sheltered life. Every moment she spent there, she was scared. Things seemed to be getting worse when Marvin Royale met up with a group of obvious thugs and mercenaries. What followed was something she would never forget.

Marvin shook their leaders' hand and conversed with them with ease, both sides showing respect for the other. The leader, a wolf faunus, happily informed Sir Royale that his family in Menagerie was doing well thanks to the investment Marvin had made in his little 'start up'. Apparently, they had started protecting border villages from threats, including other mercenaries for little compensation. Still, their services had gotten popular enough that they couldn't complain about income in the slightest.

Silica learned that day not to judge a book by its cover, her respect and liking for Marvin growing even larger. She eventually had to leave, but during her short visit of Menagerie, she met with the family of the merc leader, who welcomed her warmly.

When she returned to Atlas, she told her mother she had figured out what she wanted to do with her life. She wanted to help make it better through the means of politics and business. And to do so, she contacted Sir Royale and asked for a position when she was 18. He accepted her, and soon she became his family's personal assistant.

She made good friends with both him and his wife, though she felt a tingle of envy towards her. She was never too good with their son, Reginald, though, and matters were made worse when she had to become his own personal assistant. And now, she's been told to stay at Beacon and monitor the little brat's progress. Still, she keeps going, but only out of respect for his father.

Personality: Silica was raised a proper lady from a young age, so when it comes to official situations and her work alongside Sir Royale, she tends to be very attentive and professional. During her time working with Reginald, however, she is much less so.

She will act nicely to people she has respect for, but still tends the act aloof when off-duty. She can come off as easily irritable when dealing with people she dislikes, though, but she rarely holds grudges.

When faced with combat, her main concern is most often getting out alive and well. She can even go as far as to make deals with her opponents, act sleazy or mask herself with her semblance.

She sometimes uses her semblance to hide from people and spend some time alone. She quite enjoys walks in the fresh air.

Aura and Semblance: Silica's aura color shifts between three colors - white, purple and orange - depending on her mood (Content, sad/bored, happy/angry).

Her semblance allows her to change the appearance of her face and make minor changes to the appearance of her build. She can rather convincingly emulate any face she's seen, or create new ones on the fly. It doesn't take too much out of her, and she can keep a new face up for several hours. Doing something as simple as changing the color of her hair takes almost nothing out of her, and she can keep this up for days, though she can't do it in her sleep and reverts to her normal appearance when resting.

Combat Behavior: She is not a combatant, but when she gets into a fight she generally keeps her distance and sticks to conventional methods of combat, such as using firearms or doing simple attacks with melee weapons.

WEAPON

Name: G-12

Primary Form: A simple Six Gun with star decals on its side, a leather grip and iron sights. Uses 12mm ammunition. When she carries the weapon, she either conceals it under a jacket or carries it openly in a holster on her thigh.

Dust Functions: Along with regular ammunition, Silica carries rounds filled with lightning dust, a total of 30 rounds, made to incapacitate foes. They have much less power behind them than regular bullets, but are intended to send a powerful shock to their target.

History: The weapon was issued to Silica during her third year working for the Royale family, after Marvin Royale became worried about potential attacks on his family. It was a prototype for a non-lethal weapon at the time, and Marvin allowed Silica to rename it. She decided to call it 'Gun-12', referring to the size of its rounds and the fact that it is, in fact, a gun.

Beacon Academy / Coming Up Short (CLOSED)
« on: November 28, 2016, 08:24:37 AM »
It was your average school day at Beacon. Most students were sitting in classes at the time, and a few were enjoying a free period, but two groups were having a slightly more interesting experience. Whether intentionally or due to some scheduling error, a group of first years and second years both wound up with a class in the arena at the same time. A sparring class.

Thus far, it had been a pretty clear victory streak for the second years. The teachers were pleased with it - clearly, their time at Beacon had paid off. Rufus Chocla had been cheering for his fellow classmates as they had fought, waiting excitedly for his own chance to fight. It had been a while since the last time he got the chance to brawl, and was hoping for his opponent to give him a good fight. Even if they were just a first year.

The one-and-a-half meter tall fighter sauntered out as his name was called, taking Flow off of his back and swinging it around a bit to get a feel for his weapon in his hands. He didn't exactly plan to use it much for this fight, and actually went ahead and stabbed the tip of the spear into the ground. If he'd need it, he'd grab it.

He looked over to see that his opponent was a girl, carrying rather formidable looking gear. Rufus, on the other hand, wasn't visibly armed beyond his studded gauntlets.

"Good look in the fight, lass, but I ain't gonna go easy, and don't worry - I don't bite, ain't no ass, but I won't be sorry." He said as he took a fighting stance with his fists raised up. He intended to let his opponent strike first.

Beacon Academy / A Cock Knocked Off Its Perch [INVITE ONLY]
« on: November 18, 2016, 02:44:09 PM »
Reginald Royale was looking even more smug than usual that day. He had arrived at Beacon just a couple months ago, and his experience thus far might be referred to as 'unsatisfactory', but he felt it was all about to change. No, he knew it!

For you see, he had, much like every other time he had faced any sort of hardship in his life, told his father about everything. He told him about the disrespect shown to him at initiation, he had told him about some pleb being assigned their team leader, and he had told him how people behind his back called him 'the caped fa-'

Nevermind, he doesn't know about that. Either way, his father had agreed to come to Beacon and 'sort things out'. Yes, truly this meant some changes for the better in Reggie' s life!

The rich bastard was standing around in the courtyard, his hands cupped under his cape behind his back and his chest puffed out as far as he could get it. Combine that with the fact that he had decided to wear his wig for this and you can imagine just how buffoonish he looked.

His face lit up even further as he saw the airship in the distance. For the second time now the Royale family airship was making its way towards beacon. And this time, it wasn't just carrying a snobbish little cunt - it was carrying the people who were regrettably responsible for his existence.

Approved Characters / Anza Burgundy
« on: November 16, 2016, 02:16:53 PM »
CHARACTER

Name: Anza Burgundy

Age: 17

Species and Gender: Female Human

Symbol:  A hollow, dark red circle.

Occupation: 1st Year Student at Beacon

Appearance: Anza's features are not unpleasant to look at, and she would generally be described as 'pretty'. Her skin is caramel, and she has a lean build. She stands at 168 cm and weighs
59 kg.

Anza's hair is vivid burgundy, and flows freely down to the small of her back. She spends quite a bit of time each morning trying to keep it in order, but several stray locks still pop out here and there.

She has a somewhat soft complexion, chartreuse color eyes and she rarely wears makeup. The most she can usually be seen wearing is simple burgundy lipstick and burgundy eyeliner.

She usually wears a simple nyanza-colored button-up blouse, which she keeps tucked into a somewhat simple, red skirt reaching down to just above her knees. On her feet she most often wears a pair of knee-high socks, also nyanza, and on her hands she has burgundy-colored, silk elbow gloves. Her shoes vary from boots to high heels, depending on the situation.

She wears the same for combat attire, though she adds some protection to it. Most of her armor is on her left arm, with a leather vambrace, elbow and shoulder pad.  For combat she almost always wears a pair of dark red combat boots, and on her back she keeps a quiver full of arrows. Said quiver bears the image of her symbol.

History: Anza was born to a respected family living on the edge of Vale, and wound up being raised in two drastically different manners at the same time. Her father was a hunter - not the grimm kind - and would often take his daughter along on hunting trips, to his wife's discontent. He taught the girl to use a bow when she was very little, and practiced together with her regularly.

Meanwhile her mother, a prominent young fashion designer and well-versed in high society, tried to raise her daughter to be a classy woman. She would take her to balls, try and set her up with young, high-class gentlemen (Which, in this case, would often be about 7) and overall do all she could to try and secure her a future free of worry.

Anza herself, however, felt like both of her parents were great and both did cool things, so she stuck through it all. Still, she was always a bit more on the wild side, and found the 'fine young gentlemen' to be way too dull. She would oftentimes sneak out during the night and even go as far as to leave the city, wandering the wilds for short whiles. She had even had to escape a grimm once or twice.

Expert with a bow, quick on her feet and gifted with a good set of wits, she had little trouble getting into Beacon - to the joy of her father and to the disdain of her mother. She joined because she sought adventure, but remains uncertain of what her future holds for her.

Personality: Anza is a mixed bag. While certainly a bit more on the wild side, preferring action and adventure over all else and always seeking excitement, she can also compel herself to act with a certain amount of elegance and grace.

Those meeting her for the first time would see a different side of her depending on the situation: In combat, they'd see an excited young girl trying to show off her skill by attempting trickier shots and racking up as many kills as she could; among friends, they'd see her as the person that's familiar with everyone and will never miss the chance to jokingly mock someone; in a formal event, they'd see a slightly plain, polite girl with whom one can hold a nice conversation about the local weather. And in all three cases, they'd be seeing her act how she naturally would.

Aura and Semblance: Anza's aura is burgundy (#900020) and is of average strength. Her eyes can occasionally be seen flickering in this color, though this is mostly her using her semblance almost without herself realizing it.

Her semblance is vision enhancement, and she most often uses it for spotting and using her bow. Her eyes light up in the color of her aura, and she is momentarily able to see the things around her in great detail.

When using her semblance, her eyesight jumps up to roughly 20/2. This allows her to do much more accurate shots with her bow, and spotting enemies in the distance. She can actively keep her semblance enabled for roughly three minutes, though she often goes between using it and resting between each separate shot. Doing this, she can keep using it for about five minutes.

If she uses it to or near her limits, she'll experience fatigue and slight eye pain, so she tends to limit herself before she gets to that point. Her semblance tends to be back up to full strength after six hours of rest after being depleted.

Combat Behavior:  Anza is almost purely a ranged fighter, and she sticks to exactly that. She uses her agility and practice with traversing terrain to keep her distance and take vantage points on the field. Her fighting style consists of a rapid stream of arrows heading her opponents' way, and otherwise serving as a distraction, as her ammunition is somewhat limited compared to most firearms.

She fights well in a team, and can serve both as support and a damage dealer, though she can get greedy when it comes to taking kills. She does better against a single opponent, since she can concentrate more fire on them.

WEAPON

Name: War Eagle

Primary Form: A somewhat simplistic shortbow, which Anza usually carries swung over her shoulder. The weapon has two small latches on the grip.

The weapon has more mobility than its other forms, but suffers from a lack of power and range.

Secondary Form: Upon pressing on the latches, the weapon extends and instead forms a longbow. To return to the previous form, one simply presses the latches once again.

Dust Functions: The arrows Anza uses are occasionally infused with dust. The following infusions exist:

Normal Arrow: A regular steel-tipped arrow. Anza carries 30 of these in her quiver.

Fire dust: The arrow has been made to explode upon impact, and is held inside the quiver with special care in a different compartment. The explosion is enough to knock a Beowolf back and down to the ground. Anza has room to store two of these arrows.

Ice dust: The arrow is coated in ice dust, and, upon impact, will freeze an opponent's limb. Anna stores three of these in her quiver.

Lightning dust: The arrow sends electricity through the target's body, enough to hold a person in place for a couple of seconds. Anza carries three in her quiver.

History: War Eagle was one of the weapons used by Anza's father, and the one he trained her to use. When she applied for beacon, her father gifted it to her so that she may continue using it as a huntress.

CHARACTER

Name: Rufus Chocla

Theme: Chip Da Ripper - Freestyle

Age: 18

Species and Gender: Male Dog (Beagle) Faunus

Symbol:
Spoiler: show

Occupation: 2nd Year Student at Beacon, Freestyle Rapper

Appearance: Rufus is short, standing at just 150 cm and weighing 55kg. Rufus has well-toned muscles from rigorous training, both at Beacon and during free time. He has soft, rounded features, dark brown eyes and mahogany-colored skin.

Rufus' hair is dark and done in corn rows, and he has a pair of beagle ears drooping down on the sides of his head. He can most often be seen wearing dark brown military-style jackets, cargo pants and occasionally caps. His combat attire is much the same, with sneakers and studded gauntlets added to the mix.

Rufus has a somewhat deep voice, even surprisingly deep for his small stature. Despite the fact that he tends to communicate via well-practiced freestyle slam poetry, his actual pronunciation is flawless.

History: Rufus was born out of wedlock, to a faunus woman who worked as a factory worker. She raised him alone in the poor district in Vale. She rarely spoke of the boy's father, but when she did, she claimed him to be a hero who fought in the war, and is still off on some incredible mission.

Rufus quickly learned to fend for himself, having to deal with bullies and street urchins from an early age. He had formed a small circle around himself by the age of 14. Despite the rough and tough nature of the group, they were mostly non-violent, only sticking together for defense. They actually found common ground in more creative arts - music.

Spending almost all of his time with these kids, Rufus picked up a habit of rhyming and even singing out his words. The habit got more intense over the years, until he eventually just found himself almost ever speaking normally.

Rufus was 15 when he first met his father. To the boy's surprise, he wasn't a soldier in the Vale army. He wasn't a soldier at all - he was a mercenary from Mistral. And a fairly successful one at that. Shocked, the boy called him out, and at age 16 he had to fight his own father on the streets in front of his home. Needless to say, the boy lost. Still, his old man was impressed by the boy's ability to hold his own.

In the fight, Rufus was knocked out. When he woke up, he found out his father had left him a large sum of lien for equipment and a recommendation letter for Beacon. Despite his grudge with the man, Rufus was driven by the urge to one day face him again and win. As such, he started training as much as he could, and applied for the combat school after passing the tests, though he had his struggles with the academic section. His first year was rough, but he managed to get into the rut just fine, and still visits home somewhat regularly to meet his mother and his friends.

Personality: Rufus is feisty, to say the least. He won't back down from a challenge and won't give up unless forced, and even then it might be a struggle. He's quite stubborn in that sense.

Outside of combat, he's quite positive, but he's also a free thinker who will always speak his mind. During any sort of argument he's bound to give out insults even if he's just joshing around, as it's something he's gotten used to back home.

He's actually rather non-violent, preferring to solve his problems with words as opposed to fighting. Alas, he's still a better fighter than negotiator, and actually struggles academically due to lack of formal education.

Aura and Semblance: Rufus' aura is Rufous (#a81c07) and is of average strength.

Rufus' semblance allows him to exert force with his voice, similar in effect to gravity dust. If he activates his semblance, when his target is 'hit' by his voice, they will be forced back as if they were actually struck by an attack. This doesn't damage a person's aura directly, but may cause harm from knockdown.

The force exerted relies on how loud his voice is projected, the distance to his target and, strangely enough, rhythm, as there is a certain 'beat' to the semblance. The beat varies wildly each time the semblance is activated, yet Rufus has honed his ability during his years as a street rapper to the point where he can hit these beats near perfectly with his words. Each separate 'beat' acts as a wave of force. Rufus has little control over these beats, though his emotional state does appear to have some correlation to them.

Rufus can utilize various means of projecting his voice, such as microphones, megaphones and speakers, and his semblance will manifest itself through them as well. While this might make his voice louder, and technically more powerful, it also makes it harder to time correctly and increases the distance it has to travel. On top of that, such equipment must be tuned beforehand to function correctly, and will inevitably suffer damage if he utilizes his semblance too much.

Combat Behavior: Rufus is a front-lines melee combatant, focused on holding ground and dealing out powerful blows. He uses his short size to avoid attacks without having to actively dodge.

In combat, Rufus often goes between using his weapons and just his fists, as he mostly fought hand-to-hand before coming to Beacon. He's a proficient boxer, decent fighter, but lacks accuracy when it comes to any sort of ranged combat or precise strikes.

He rarely uses Encore's ranged form, and usually only brings it out if things are going South.

WEAPON

Name: Flow and Soul

Primary Form: Flow - A sturdy Iron spear with a small button located at the end of the shaft. The weapon is 110cm long in total, with a diameter of 4cm. Rufus carries the weapon on a strap on his back in this form.

Soul - A compact punch dagger with a rounded handle on a spinning axis. The entire thing, minus the blade, is made of an exceptionally light metal, though the weapon itself isn't too light as it appears to be 'filled' with something. Rufus carries the weapon in his jacket.

Secondary Form: Flow - Upon pressing the button, the tip of the spear splits into four pieces, which spread open to form the base of a stand. On the sides of the weapon appear small latches and the top of the stand opens up. This form serves no other function than to form Encore.

Soul - Upon twisting the handle, the side of the dagger cracks open and out pops a wire. The wire is well made and sturdy, and can act as a rope or lasso in a pinch.

Tertiary Form: Encore - Upon popping Soul in its secondary form into the top of Flow's secondary form, the wires connect to the latches and form a fully fledged mic stand. Upon being pressed into Flow, the part of Soul's blade which opened up forms into a speaker facing away from Rufus. Rufus can utilize this to amplify his voice slightly when using his semblance, though the thing only works for about a minute straight before having to be re-tuned, otherwise it's going to break.

Disassembling the weapon merely takes pressing the button on Flow again, at which point both weapons pop out and return to their primary form.

Dust Functions: When the weapon is in Encore form, Rufus can place a dust cartridge in a small opening at the top part of Flow. The cartridge can then be slid upwards until it clicks into place between the mic and the speaker. When Rufus uses his semblance and sings into the mic, various effects can be created.

Fire Dust: Lasts for roughly half a minute. The dust is spewed out and activated in the form similar to a rudimentary flamethrower. The fires are incredibly hot, and using this function will damage the speaker to the point where repair is needed.

Ice Dust: Lasts for about a minute, whether Rufus sings or not as the speaker winds up freezing over. Creates cold winds and snow in its path.

Gravity Dust: The effect builds up in the weapon for about ten seconds before activating. Combines the force from Rufus singing during this time with the force of the dust, sending whatever was in front of him, the boy himself and his weapon flying. Might result in much harm to him as it does good, essentially ruins the microphone and even damages the stand.

History: Rufus acquired the weapon along with all his other gear after his mother refused taking the money his father had left him. The weapon was designed with ideas given to him by all of his friends, and as such might seem a bit cramped.

An airship flew over the city of Vale, a purple crown logo painted on its side. The airship was the size of those which brought students to Beacon at the start of each year, but this one was slightly different. Different in the fact that it was privately owned, and, rather than carrying a large group of eager now hunters and huntresses, it carried but a single one. Well, him plus his entourage.

There were people there to make sure he looked impeccable, people to carry his belongings, people to operate the vehicle, people to act as his personal guards. Not that he needed any of it, or anything. The whole thing was merely formality that a person of his high class had to deal with. Nothing more.

The vehicle docked gracefully next to the courtyard, people glancing at it with confusion. The rest of the students had arrived earlier, after all. They were even more confused when the doors opened and a stream of obvious adults poured out, carrying and pulling all kinds of luggage. Ammunition, clothes, dust, spare parts, various cosmetics and books. And, out after all of them came the "man" himself.

Reginald fucking Royale.

He was dressed in his usual regal garb, cape flowing behind him as he strutted down the ramp, a young woman quickly stepping out from the airship and taking hold of the end of the cape to keep it from dragging on the ground. Reggie raised his hand towards her to indicate that there was no need, then turned to the workers carrying his bags.

"Chop, chop, people! I don't pay you to lazy about and waste my time! Get the bags to wherever my dorm shall be and get back immediately so father doesn't need to wait on the ship!" He called out to them in a commanding tone, clearly not bothered by any potential onlookers. For all he cared, they were unimportant. He was important. They were peasants.

He nodded to the woman behind him, and began to move through the courtyard, head held high and exerting confidence with every motion like the pompous prick he was. There's a new king in town, Beacon. And you better be ready.

CHARACTER

Name: Reginald Royale

Theme: The Lonely Island feat. Adam Levine - I'm So Humble

Age: 17

Species and Gender: Male Human

Symbol: A golden crown with stylized gusts of wind flowing around it.

Occupation: 1st Year Student at Beacon Academy

Appearance: Reggie is of average height and weight, standing at 175 cm and weighing 64 kg, with lightly tanned skin. He has well-defined, appealing facial features, dark blue eyes and a set of perfect, shining teeth. He isn't particularly muscular, and doesn't appear threatening upon first glance, though he has the tendency to give out angered glares.

Reggie has purple hair, cut to neatly frame his face and ears. The hair is parted to the left. However, he can sometimes be seen sporting a large, regalia wig with eccentric curls accentuating it. He most often wears it during official events.

He has carefully trimmed, pointed eyebrows. Reginald bears a birthmark on his right hip.

He's usually seen wearing a royal purple cape with golden stitching, a purple silk vest with golden buttons, white trousers and elegant black shoes. Even when in school uniform, the cape remains where it is, going all the way down to his feet. Under his cape, Reginald hides a small latch attached to his vest, which he uses for carryingSolace.

He doesn't usually wear anything other than the aforementioned attire, but when he does, there is a distinct preference for royal purple and golden details.

History: Reginald was born to a rich family in the upper class district of vale, his father an ex-huntsman turned businessman and his mother a former teacher at Signal turned expert investor. Both of his parents got a lucky chance to get rich via dust trade, and took the opportunity eagerly.

Reginald's father, despite no longer being a hunter, insisted on teaching his son the art of warfare and combat from an incredibly young age. Reginald never attended Signal, or any other combat school for that matter. Instead, his father consistently invited his old teammates, partners in business and famous huntsman from all over Remnant to train the boy and hone his skills. This worked to make Reginald certain that he was the center of the entire universe for the longest of times. His teachers would scold him only to have his father give him no more than a slap on the wrist, before finding new teachers entirely.

Reginald met very few kids his own age growing up, and was usually surrounded by adults who would treat anyone of lower stature like dirt. In part, this quality rubbed off on Reginald, and he would soon start to do the same. On the few occasions he'd encounter the 'lower class' people when joining his father on any trips around town, he would mock them and even start fights with them. His father was not pleased with this, but rarely punished him.

Only after getting his ass handed to him during a street fight at 14, the boy having wandered into the industrial district on a regular stroll around town, did he realize his folly. From that day forward, Reginald devoted all his efforts to training. So much so that his parents never had to use their connections to get the boy enrolled in Beacon. The boy passed all tests on his own. His father, who had started to grow weary by his son's antics, supported the boy fully in joining the school's ranks. Reginald's father still supports him financially, but has started to distance himself in terms of any other form of help. Something the boy is yet to pick up on.

Personality: In short: A stuck up, cocky prick. Reginald has always thought of himself as better than the common man, and woman, and displays this belief openly.

Despite this, people who manage to get close to him would find him surprisingly loyal to his peers, and even those he thinks of as 'subjects' to him might notice his wish to protect. The one thing he hates more than anything else is when his authority is undermined.

When angered or otherwise made highly emotional, Reginald might create strong gusts of wind via his semblance. In part, it's an instinctive response, and in part it's a way for him to vent. No pun intended.

Reginald usually does quite well under pressure, though, so long as he isn't entirely denied authority and freedom of choice. He only truly follows orders from those he considers to be legitimate authority - That is, people of equal or higher stature than himself.

Aura and Semblance: Reginald's aura is Regalia (#522D80) and is of average strength and intensity.

His semblance is that of pressure manipulation. Reginald is capable of altering the air and fluid pressure in a distance from his skin equaling exactly two centimeters at his current level of skill. His current strength allows him to alter said pressure by roughly two atmospheres, though he is incapable of forcing enough air/fluid out to go below a single atmosphere, IE go below standard pressure on Earth's surface/create a vacuum of sorts. The semblance works by first creating a layer of air around his body, acting like an armor against the pressurized air/fluid around it.

Reginald can utilize this ability to create air reserves around his body, as well as expel the pressurized air as gusts of wind. In the case of creating such winds, his body is also affected, meaning that it's a risky move during open combat.

If an object is clinging tightly to his body, Reginald can use his semblance to potentially force it off - for example, cheaply made handcuffs. He cannot, however, alter pressure inside of living things, as his semblance is unable to get past one's aura. With his current level of skill, he is yet to find a way to alter the pressure inside of a grimm, either.

The act of lowering the pressure around his body and expelling air is less tiresome than increasing the pressure, as he has to actively keep it pressurized. He can hold in an additional atmosphere for roughly two minutes, and additional two for one before running out of energy to do so. When it comes to lowering the pressure around him, he can do this for three times as long, respectively.

Combat Behavior: Reginald is not much of a front-lines fighter, and prefers to utilize ranged attacks for as much as possible. If he is forced to go into melee, he can hold his grown a for a bit with his daggers, but would prefer to instead get his distance back, so he tends to stick to using Solace's bayonet.

Reginald doesn't function well as a subordinate, and in such cases would often act out on his own, despite his odds potentially being stacked against him.

Reginald can hold ground for a decent while, and his general combat style consists of a mixture of ranged bombardments and straight charges. Useful during group-on-group battles, less so in duels of sorts.

WEAPON

Name: Solace

Primary Form: A gold-encrusted bolt-action iron rifle with a wooden stock, iron sights and a bayonet on the end of it. The rifle utilizes 7.62 ammunition and has a small latch on its side for attaching to the latch on Reginald's vest. On the wooden stock sits a small, golden slider.

Secondary Form: Upon pushing on the slider, the weapon shifts to function at a longer range. The bayonet attached to the barrel of the gun folds up, reforming itself into a sturdy bipod. The barrel extends slightly as well, and two iron half-circles pop out from the area below the sights, clipping together over them with plastic lenses clicking into place to form a proper sniper rifle scope. The transformation can be reversed by sliding the slider on the stock back into its previous position.

Dust Functions: In both forms, the weapon may be loaded with dust bullets. The bullets function much the same to regular ones, but they break open upon impact. The effects are not as potent as from most other uses of dust, as the doses found in the bullets are very small.

Fire pellet: A small explosion upon impact. The fire pellets can do quite a bit of damage, but are slightly less precise than a regular bullet.

Lightning pellet: Sends a small shock throughout whatever it hits upon impact, equal to roughly two amps in strength of current.

Ice pellet: Freezes an area with a radius of 5 cm upon impact. The ice is most effective when it hits joints, as it locks them in place until the ice is removed.

Gravity pellet: Highly increased knock back upon impact. Reginald often uses this as a means to disarm his opponents by hitting either their weapon or their limbs.

History: The rifle was originally a hand-me-down from his father, and, at the time, was nothing more than a simple wooden rifle. His father had used it as a hunter, and his grandfather had used it in the greyed war. After the boy started to truly hone his skills in combat, his father allowed him to have the weapon modified, and the boy jumped at the chance to make it as pimped out as he could.

Name: Royalty and Regality

Primary Form: A pair of simple, gem-encrusted steel daggers carried on small sheaths on his belt. The blades are well-polished stainless steel and the hilts are engraved with his family crest - a sword with a snake coiling around it. There is a single empty slot in the center of each dagger shaped like a dust crystal.

Dust Functions: Dust crystals can be placed in the slots to imbue the blade with various effects. Each crystal has rather limited uses, but they are more potent than Solace's bullets.

Ice crystal: Causes the blade to light up blue, and makes whatever it touches freeze over. The effect can freeze an opponent's limb entirely, though the ice isn't particularly thick. Can be used for two strikes or 4 minutes.

Fire crystal: Causes the blade to glow bright red and causes intense heat around it. The blade doesn't really light any fires, though, instead simply doing more damage via the pure heat. It also has more practical uses, such as cauterizing wounds. Can be used for four strikes or eight minutes.

History: The daggers were gifted to the boy by his father when he turned 15. His father had noticed how much the boy liked his jewels, and decided that there could be no harm done if he could use that love in combat.

CHARACTER

Name: Razzmatazz Gele

Theme: StylipS - Study x Study

Age: 18

Species and Gender: Male Human

Symbol:
Spoiler: show

Occupation: Second year Student at Beacon

Appearance: Razz stands at 167 cm in height, weighing 62 kg, with a decent bit of muscle definition, though not too much, as he relies more on agility for fighting.

Razzmatazz has bright green eyes and close-cut, pink hair. Razz usually has an earring in his left ear, varying from a simple metal studs to hoops encrusted with jewels, a gift from his cousin.

Razz speaks with a slightly high-pitched, almost feminine sounding voice, along with his looks making it hard for some to take him all that seriously.

Along with his school uniform, Razz has two outfits he regularly wears.

The first is his casual attire, consisting of a white tank top, bright pink zip-up leather jacket, plain white pants and pink sneakers. On sunnier days he might accessorize with pink-tinted sunglasses in white frames.

His combat attire consists of a pink breastplate over a white shirt, a white cloak with his symbol flowing behind him, said cloak easily detachable from his shoulders with one motion. He wears pink pads over his shoulders and knees, and has pink leather vambraces with little metal studs on them. He wears the same pants and shoes as he does normally, and has a strap on his thigh for Rozhe Orchideya. He now also wears thin leather gloves intended to help with grappling his opponents.

History: Razzmatazz was born and raised in Vale, his mother, Viola Bloom, a shopkeeper and his father, Brim Gele, a mercenary huntsman. From a very young age, his parents tried to keep him off the path of any sort of violence, hoping for him to become a regular inhabitant of Vale like his mother, nowhere near the dangers of being a huntsman.

And yet the boy admired his father greatly, considering those who fought the grimm to be heroes. Despite his parents' initial objections, Razz joined Signal academy, where he crafted Rozhe Orchideya and studied for four years.
His father went missing during Razz' third year of study, and is currently presumed dead by most, including his mother Viola. Despite this, Razz still believes his father is alive somewhere, though the odds are heavily against that.

Upon finishing his studies at Signal, Razz transferred to Beacon with somewhat outstanding results in combat tests, while just barely passing for sufficient academical scores. He now hopes to finish Beacon, become a huntsman himself and find his father, as he wishes to see him proud of his son.

Personality: Razzmatazz is a very outgoing, chirpy individual. He tries to limit infighting and arguing to a minimum, opting to be friends with everyone he meets.

He doesn't have too many inhibitions as such, almost seeming shameless at times.

Razz might even seem childish at times, even convincingly enough to pass as younger than he is, his voice and soft-ish facial features being of help in that regard.

He sometimes gets a bit upset when he isn't taken as seriously as he would like. But, while he might give a pout and a scoff, he still doesn't hold a grudge on anyone. He's practically incapable of doing so.

Aura and Semblance: Razz has an average-strength, bright-pink aura that doesn't really ever change much in color. It can sometimes be seen when he uses his semblance to a greater extent.

Razz' semblance is light manipulation and illusion: He is capable of creating various illusionary shapes and symbols around himself to serve as a distraction, or even entertainment to onlookers. He can keep such a show up for several of minutes when not putting too much energy into it, but if he were to use enough energy, he could completely disorient his opponents with his show in an instant, but it would cost him most of his aura.

If needed, he can also make a somewhat reliable illusionary copy of something. If it's something less detailed or somewhat more abstract, such as a generic shape or flower, he can do so for a couple of minutes. If it's something more detailed, for example, an identification card, it'd be much harder and he could do so for around half a minute at most, even less if he has to move it around.

Spoiler: Examples:  • show
Razz could, for a few minutes, keep a single opponent relatively confused by surrounding them with a flow of colors and shapes. The spectacle would be faintly visible to an observer, but for the one in the middle of it, it would be rather bright on the eyes, but not so much as to blind them. While not completely disrupting the opponent's line of sight, it could still be useful enough during an escape.
If Razz were to use his full power, he could surround a small group of people with a sickening whirlpool of color. The effect might be comparable to what one feels right after getting out of a rollercoaster.

For an example of a detailed illusion, Razzy could make an ID to allow himself access to places he shouldn't have access to. A less detailed ID, lacking fine print but with his image and some symbols could last a half a minute in his hand. If fine print would be needed, he'd only do so for around 15 seconds, rendering it not too reliable.

Combat Behavior: Razz likes to fight most things pretty much head-on, but opting for lots of dodging and weaving around. He mostly uses Rozhe Orchideya in its blade form, trying to do as much damage to the target as possible before attempting a full takedown, since the last thing he wants is to be stuck with an angry grimm that didn't die.

When it comes to fighting people, he tries to avoid it as much as possible, but when it comes to that, he prefers to not harm them too much. If he's uncertain of how much aura his opponent has to speak of, he'll use the blunt side of his weapon just in case. He also has a tendency to be reckless in such fights, going for charges, self-destructive attacks and grapples. In a fight with Razz, it's likely both opponents will at some point find themselves on the ground.

When it comes to ranged combat, he usually tries to do it from as far away as possible. His weapon has plenty of reach with regular bullets, after all. But when it comes to defense of some sort, meeting the opponent with firepower is a good idea in his books.

WEAPON

Name: Rozhe Orchideya

Primary Form: A pink metal bat, 60 cm in length and 8 cm in diameter. There isn't much to it, except for tiny, yet noticeable latches around it. Essentially, a storage form for the weapon.

Secondary Form: Once swung with enough force, the weapon transforms, the latches disconnecting and parts of the bat sliding down along a hollow metal tube previously hidden inside the weapon. The parts that slid down the tube form a cross-guard at the bottom. On the side of the tube facing away from the wielder, a blade extends from the pommel, reaching 80 cm in total length.Dust-filled cartridges can be inserted into the tube to empower the blade. From the bottom of the pommel, a button now protrudes out.
The weapon can be transformed back into it's primary form by applying upwards force on the cross-guard, sliding it back into place. As this is done, the rest of the weapon returns to its previous state as well.

Tertiary Form: Upon pressing the button at the bottom of the pommel, the weapon transforms into its tertiary form. The metal tube extends further, past the blade, forming a barrel a meter in length. The cross-guard shifts to the side and a trigger props out of it, while the pommel of the weapon transforms slightly to form the butt of the now-rifle. A small hatch now forms where the tube previously connected to the cross-guard, allowing the wielder to insert bullets or dust cartridges.
By grasping the butt of the rifle and swinging the weapon, it transforms back into its sword-like state, similarly to how it transforms from it's primary form to its secondary.

Dust Functions: In its secondary form, dust cartridges can be placed into the tube to give the blade various powers. Razz most often uses fire-based dust for this, though he sometimes uses ice as well.

In its tertiary form, dust functions similarly, launching bursts of energy from the dust at the opponent, the size of the cartridges Razz uses allowing for about 6 shots per cartridge. While powerful, dust isn't as accurate as a regular bullet over long distances.

History: Razz made the very basis of Rozhe Orchideya during his first year in Signal, calling it simply 'Rozhe' at the time. The weapon was functionally no more than a club. During the second half of the year, he started work on adding a blade to the weapon, initially making a collapsible dagger. He assembled the weapon piece by piece as time went on, and on his third year of study at Signal, after his father went missing, he finished it with the addition of the tertiary form, calling it 'Rozhe Orchideya', after his grandmother, Orchid Gele.

CHARACTER

Name: Janna Tarmac

Theme: OK Go - Invincible (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mItuZ8i4wH8)

Age: 18

Species and Gender: Female Human

Symbol:
Spoiler: show

Occupation: 1st (?) year student at Beacon Academy

Appearance:   Janna's a tall woman, standing at a height of 190 cm and weighing 81 kg. Her body is well trained, with well-toned muscles and tanned skin. Janna has turquoise eyes and coal black hair, usually done up in a high ponytail reaching down to the back of her neck.

Janna's combat attire is about as bulky as it gets, separated into a multitude of layers.

Spoiler: show
The first layer consists of leather armor: a leather chestpiece, shoulder, elbow and knee pads, leather grieves, leather skirt and and leather padding on the inside of the second layer's boots.

The second layer is the base armor layer. Over the previous layer of armor, Janna wears a black metal breastplate, as well as dark metal vambraces, pauldrons and gauntlets. Said vambraces have latches attached to them to hold The D's (It stands for 'Defense'). She also wears a studded leather skirt, a la Roman skirts.

The third layer functions more for utility purposes and a certain amount of style. On her back she has two crossed sheaths for her weapons, Honor and Justice, held in place with leather straps going across her chest. On the sides of said straps she has small metal latches for the D's, effectively making her already large frame seem even bigger when the two shields are attached. While she doesn't wear a helmet to keep her vision unobstructed, she wears a black metal diadem of a relatively simple design on her head.

A tl;dr of her armor: Large metal plate armor with big shoulder pads, two shields on her sides and two sheathed swords on her back.

Outside of combat, she usually wears simple and almost surprisingly light clothing. Sports bras, tank tops, shorts and sandals are common attire for her.

History: Janna was the child of an engineer, her father, and a blacksmith, her mother. Her family lived on the far west side of Vale's residential district, almost bordering on the industrial zone. From her early childhood she showed a great sense of justice, standing up against bullies at school as well as on the streets. At age 12, she was already training on her own with a sword and shield made her mother. The sword was dull at the time, of course.

When she was 13, she went to school to find a group of bullies beating up on an underclassman, a young boy named Eric. She tried to protect the kid and beat the bullies, but lost. Eric was still immensely grateful to her, and took her to see his mother, a huntress by the name of Leela Granite. Janna began training under her guidance. Soon after, Janna's parents had a baby boy named Ezekiel.

Janna was highly protective of her sibling, and made her goal to train as hard as possible so that the child would never have to get in harm's way. When she was 16, she started wielding two shields, her parents having made a set of armor for her a year earlier.

It was her sense of justice and urge to protect the lives of innocents that made her want to be a huntress. She showed exceptionally good results in combat tests, and passed her academical ones quite well, too, her father being a good influence on her. And so, she came to Beacon.

Personality: Janna is mostly a calm and reserved individual, trying to figure out the outcome of a situation before acting. She doesn't concern herself too much with the personal lives of others, but still holds her friends very close, bordering on being overly protective of them. If she considers someone's actions to be a threat to a friend of her's, said person can expect a good wallop coming their way.

During combat, she can sometimes get a bit bossy, which makes sense considering her rather direct front-line position in battle. Other than that, she has grown naturally capable of dealing with stress.

Janna has a strong sense of justice, and will refuse to do anything she finds morally questionable or unethical, if at all possible.

Aura and Semblance: Janna's aura is a mixture of coal black and ash gray, and is of a particularly enduring caliber. It's been well trained along with her body, meaning she can take quite a beating before running low.

Her semblance allows her to materialize her aura in the form of a dark-gray shield or wall, either based on the ground or hovering above it. For the semblance to work, however, she needs sight of where she wishes to have it appear, as well as solid footing and concentration. The wall or shield is a direct projection of her aura, and any attacks directed towards it will instead strike her, which is why she must have a solid stance on the ground. Though the damage to the aura is equal to how much damage would be dealt if an attack were to strike her directly, the force applied to her body is roughly halved, but a powerful strike could still knock her back.

Combat Behavior:   Janna is, to put it simply, a damage sponge. Her bulky armor, the D's and semblance all function to do pretty much the same thing - keep her allies from being hurt. Janna tends to get in the middle of the battle to get the attention of as many opponents as she possibly can, allowing her teammates to deal damage while providing some support with Honor and Justice.

WEAPON

Name: The Defenses (D's)

Primary Form: A pair of large kite shields, with latches on the inside along the straps, allowing to attach them to Janna's vambraces with ease during combat simply by sliding the shields along them. The bottom parts of the shields have small hinges attached to them, allowing Janna to occasionally rest them on the ground while still moving them around a bit. This allows her to keep blocking oncoming attacks while only dealing with a fraction of the weight, but it's not as effective.

History: Janna initially had only one shield, simply named 'Defense'. Once she started concentrating more on protecting those closest to her, she half-symbolically made a second shield. Her father, who had designed her armor, took note of how she seemed to do rather well wielding both, but lacked a means of proper attack. He then added the latches to the design, allowing for her to wield additional weapons while still utilizing her shields.

Name: Honor and Justice

Primary Form: A pair of simple shortswords with switches located on the cross-guards. The weapons are rather light so that the combined weight of the swords, armor and shields would be a tiny bit more bearable.

Secondary Form: Once the switches are pressed, the blades fold up and form short barrels. The switches themselves slide back onto the pommel, forming triggers, and a button appears on the top grips of the now-pistols. Each pistol holds 7 rounds of ammunition, the shots being quite devastating at close range.

Dust Functions: The ammunition can be replaced with dust cartridges, but Janna does so very, very rarely, as she would need to know exactly what she'll be fighting and in what situation. She has to load the guns before battle, after all.

History: Janna used to fight with a sword and shield - honor and defense, respectively, the sword made for her by her mother. Soon after entering signal, she asked one of her friends and classmates to help her turn the weapon into a functioning range weapon as well. After she acquired her second shield, it only made sense that she would get a second weapon as well.
