The sound of Azure’s footsteps, her black combat boots thudding quietly against the floor of the auditorium, were the only sound that echoed through the space. The chain that decorated the boots clicked lightly as she stepped. It was dark, but the lights, sensing motion, flickered to life as she walked through the room. She carried Renegade on her back, her right hand already reaching up, resting around the neck of the guitar in a light grasp, ready to pull it free and wield it as the shortest notice. Her black and blue hair was pulled back in a loose, messy fishtail braid. The braid had started off tighter that morning, but given Azure’s incessant playing with it, had begun to fall out over the course of the day.
Her navy eyes passed over the room, finding another student already in the ring. She was surprised to hear him speak, seeing as she had yet to make her presence clear to him. Not that she had been intentionally hiding, but she hadn’t been making much of a ruckus either. However, she recovered from her surprise quickly, letting a smirk spread across her lips, the challenge flashing in her eyes.
“I’m always ready,” she commented, pulling Renegade from her back. She pressed the tuning peg that doubled as an activation switch, the guitar coming to life. The dust core hummed quietly as blue aura crackled along the strings and body of the matte black weapon, the LED lights taking a few second to warm up, slowly increasing in brightness. The dark grey blades slid out from the body of the guitar with a click, their shiny surface dancing with hints of blue lights from the aura that ran like lightning up and down the instrument. The Dust fueled LED lights along the pickguard and pickups of the guitar had warmed up, glowing with an electric blue light. The strings stayed their normal steel grey, as the weapon had yet to be infused with Dust.
Azure’s white wolf tail swayed slightly, giving her balance as she got into a ready stance, spinning her axe in her hand. She had never been one to wait for the fight to come to her-- or to wait in general, really-- so it was no surprise when she made the first move.
Azure dashed across the expanse between her and the boy whose name she didn’t know. Shouldn’t it be common courtesy to ask one’s name before engaging in combat with them?. It probably was, but Azure had never been one to follow proper etiquette. Upon reaching him, she would bring Renegade up in diagonal slash, wielding it like the battle axe is resembled, with the intent of slashing upwards across her opponent's torso, moving in a left to right motion. She didn’t even stop to consider how the boy would react to her, or whether or not her attack would even be effective if it landed. All she saw was a battle, and she had charged straight in.
She would then jump back to put some distance between herself and her opponent while loading Dust into Renegade, slotting the crystal into where one would usual plug in an amp chord. Once loaded with Dust, Renegade’s strings would glow a bright orange. The gravity Dust in the metal bracelets she wore pulsed with black light as they paired with Renegade. The braceletes enabled her to use Renegade like a guitar without needing to use a strap; instead, the weapon would float at around abdomen height so she could play it.
Her fingers settled on the fret board, she began to play a simple riff to charge up a strike, before switching to an open chord. Playing the chord would release a wave of fire from the guitar, which spread out in a semi circle towards her opponent. Burn damage would be taken if the wave of fire landed.
