"Thank you for the ride, and welcome to Beacon Academy."

Now, most people would have one of two emotions upon laying eyes on Beacon Academy's campus and the surrounds. Awe in the fact that they could study in such a esteemed place, or fear at not being capable enough, or whatever reason. Tieren only had one word running through his mind, as he stepped off the transport Bullhead and took his first pace on the white stones. One simple, universal word. F*ck.

Compared to Vacuo's Shade Academy, Beacon seemed like an insurmountable maze to the Vacuan, foreboding and imposing. It didn't help that the two had vastly different climates, and Tieren had come unprepared. In fact, he really hadn't prepared anything apart from the bare essentials, among which included multiple bottles of lemon tea and his treasured GN Blade, for once not attached to his arm.

"Oh, what the hell?" A shocked Tieren mumbled. "I came for Beacon Academy, not a goddamn castle!" Looking around, he attempted to find someone who knew what he/she was doing, not like himself, giving off the perfect impression of a newbie.

Michael was having a routine, uneventful day at this point. The giant had taken care of a few errands in the city proper, and had just gotten off an airship to beacon. He stepped off the vessel, his suit making him stand out among  the casually-dressed students. Well, stand out more than he normally would, anyway. He had stayed after the crowd dispersed to plan the rest of the day and smoke the cigar he had in his shirt pocket. He had just gotten to lighting it when a short man who clearly did not know how to dress himself properly started spouting profanities toward the tower. "Watch your tongue. You're on school grounds." he said, knowing that the staff of the school tended to be around at convenient times to witness the students misbehaving.

...? Kirkka looked on inquisitively as the transport landed, dropped off what looked like another student, then took off almost right away. It was a little unusual to find anyone arriving at this time of the day, but not unheard of. The general transport dropped off visitors and students returning from a weekend trip to Vale just over an hour ago. School had already been in session for a week now. And this one looked like he was lost. Instinctively, Kirkka began approaching the wayward student, but she paused a few moments later when Michael commented on the kid's attitude.

Eventually, she realized that she should probably go up and figure out what's going on. She turned around and considered her work, looking at the rubble a few feet away and recalling her anger at discovering it. If only people would stop breaking things... she thought to herself before heading toward the pair of students.

"You're one to talk. Ever heard of 'no smoking on school grounds'?" Tieren shot back at the giant who had just criticised him out of nowhere. He didn't expect anyone to even hear him, given that he was just about the only person around. Guess he wasn't too attentive about his surroundings.

Now taking the time to look around, Tieren noticed someone who seemed to know what they were doing heading their way. A member of staff perhaps? Taking a closer look, she seemed to be somewhat hacked off, judging by the look on her face.

"Fantastic. Now if you'll excuse me, BFG, I have someone to talk to." Tieren said sarcastically, as he turned away from the giant. He didn't even know the guy's name, so why was he so frustrated? Oh well, not that he cared.

Rude. Michael stood there as the boy mouthed off on him. He straightened his jacket, tapped his cigar, and held it between his fingers. "Beacon Academy Rulebook section 3 rule 12. Smoking is not permitted in the classrooms nor the dormitories. Airship docks are fair game." he said, accentuating his point by taking a large drag of his cigar.

Kirkka's ears worked well enough to catch most of the pair's disagreement. Opting to not respond directly to it, she slowed to a stop a short distance from Tieren and put on a professional looking face. "Are you new here?" She inquired, expecting an explanation of why he was just arriving. Hopefully it was nothing complicated.

Kirkka briefly glanced at Michael with his cigar, mentally acknowledging his presence and contrasting him to whoever caused the mess she was working on cleaning. At least he is following the rules, unlike others.

Finally, someone who actually knows what they're doing, Tieren thought. "Uhh, yes ma'am, I'm supposed to be going around Beacon Academy and eventually meeting at whatever they call training rings in this maze. Would be greatly obliged if any help could be offered, since Know-it-all over here isn't giving any." All that being said, he pulled out a bottle of lemon tea from his backpack and took a deep swallow. Boy, did that help with his temper sometimes.
