Title: An Electrifying Dinner of Ramen Woodles [CLOSED] [Team ASPN]
Post by: jjb2158 on March 10, 2017, 07:46:39 PM
Skipping down the sidewalk, Suntalia made her way through the crowds with a smile. Waving at people here and there, whether she knew them or not, she turned the corner and noticed the restaurant ahead. Despite there being plenty of other places to go to, this one in particular held a dear spot in her heart. Slowing down to a walk, she moved at a steady pace so as to not get too hot. The last thing she wanted to do was get sweaty in her attire. Wearing an orange and yellow dress and her hair done into a loose braid with a flower pin over her left ear, she finally got to the entrance of the restaurant.

Smiling broadly, Suntalia opened the door and entered, beaming a dimpled smile at the owners. "Hi Di Di!!!" she exclaimed waving at the server nearby. "Hi Mr. and Mrs. Solar!!" she greeted, waving at the two owners. "Obi had a class experiment with me, Vashie and a  first year team and I'm famished now!" Walking over to one of her usual spots, she sat down on the seat and leaned on her elbows as she watched Diamante work. Smiling to herself as she suppressed the sudden urge to make fun of him, she continued to watch and wait, swinging her legs gently underneath her. "Oh! There will be a few others joining me so I'll wait on ordering until they show up!" Glancing over at Diamante mischievously, she smirked slightly. "And Di Di said that he would be happy to take care of my check tonight, seeing that he's a complete and TOTAL gentleman." Laughing lightly, she smiled innocently at Diamante and then went back to waiting while humming softly to herself.

Diamante rolled his eyes at the lines he had come to expect of Suntalia. "You know our deal as well as I, Sunny- 50% off yours, 20% off your guests'. We've gotta run a business here, after all." He looked in his parents' direction, who each gave him a nod. Diamante eased up at this and briefly put aside the rag he had been using to wipe down tables. "So, how many are we expecting? It's not a busy evening, save a few layabouts-" he smirked in the direction of Oni, who was lurking at a table in the corner. "I could spare you the big table, if you like."

Though a modest building, there were clear signs that The Solar Noodle was enjoying moderate success as of late. Tables were crammed in wherever they could fit, some ready to seat parties of six or more. The majority of regulars, however, took up seats along the bar, where they would sit and chat with Diamante and his parents as they ate. It was no wonder they had become so popular, with friendly staff, timely service, and pleasant lighting worthy of the name "Solar." But the work often wore on the family as word of their restaurant spread, and they were now desperately in need of more help. Slow days like these were a lovely reprieve for Diamante, and though he loved her dearly (and platonically!), he worried that Suntalia's presence meant bad things for his day of relaxation.

"First years? Good grief..." Oni mumbled to himself. He wasn't a total fan of them. Too loud, and the like. Oni continued eating his noodles in peace; by himself.

"It's great that we've managed to be reduced to just a shadow of our former selves in an evening. I don't even know where they are..They took the 'SP' out of ASPN. That's just leaves 'AN', an' that's no good for a team dinner.." Argent sighed to his partner as they made their way to The Solar Noodle. It was supposed to be the team's reward for kicking ass in class, but both the team leader and the team criminal are running late. This wasn't good. More for Argent and Noctis, right..? The 'team' soon arrived at the shop, and greeted their host, as well as informing her that the other two were running behind a little. "Well, I'm starving." Argent said with a smile to Suntalia as his stomach began to rumble.

Noctis didn't mind spending the day with Argent- even though Noctis didn't really talk much, it was nice to get to know at least one of his teammates. Seeing a lack of team leader and the fox didn't waver Noctis' emotionless facial expression. He followed the taller to the table where Suntaila and a few others sat. This maybe might be pushing his comfort a little bit. He wasn't claustrophobic or anything, just uncomfortable with so many new people especially since he is having a hard time adjusting to living in Vale. He pulled out his scroll to distract himself from what was going on. He did, before he sat down, greeted Suntalia and the others around the table. As long as no one tried to talk to him he was fine.

Pouting at Diamante's words about paying for tonight, Suntalia quickly turned her attention to Oni who was in the corner. Brightening significantly at seeing most of her team here, she skipped over to where Oni was sitting. Putting both of her hands on his left shoulder and rested her chin on her hands. "Don't be so anti-social Oni!" she exclaimed, giving him a dimpled smile before laughing lightly. Turning to see Argent and Noctis walk in, she waved at them before skipping back to the table she was originally at. "Hey guys! We'll be sitting over here!" she said, taking her seat once more. "Oh! And to answer your question, Di Di, this table should suffice as there should only be four others joining me tonight."

Trying to suppress her excitement of making new friends as well as seeing her teammates, Suntalia beamed a smile at Argent and Noctis while letting her legs swing lightly. "By the way, two of my teammates are here also. This one is Diamante..." she said, pointing towards their server. "...and that's Oni" she added, pointing at the guy in the corner. "We're missing our mighty team leader, but we've been together since day one!" Looking back and forth from her teammates and then to the guys sitting with her, Suntalia couldn't hide her excitement any more and beamed a dimpled smile. "This is Team ASPN" she said, pointing to the two younger students. "They went through the ringer with one of Obi's classes so I figured I'd treat them to dinner since they got quite a beating from Vashie and I. Please be nice to them guys!"

Realizing she was talking quite a bit, Suntalia decided to stay quiet for a moment by taking her pose from before and rested her chin in her hands and leaned on her elbows while she waited for the last two people to show up.

"So, you'll be getting the full Suntalia treatment, hm? Well, good luck." He smiled apologetically to Argent and Noctis as he got up and turned. "I'll be out to take your orders in a few minutes, assuming everyone's ready. But I've got some tidying up to do in the kitchen." He walked away, disappearing through a door in the back only to become visible again behind the counter. He set to work scrubbing things down, becoming oblivious to the conversation in the restaurant. I wonder, is meeting new people in my work clothes... better, or worse than meeting them in that ridiculous combat attire of mine?

"Mighty? Rye is just the guy who has been forced to clean up after you, Talia." Oni smirked back at Suntalia, now that she had finally quieted down. He had also given a quick nod to both members of team ASPN.

Argent had finally sat down when he had looked up to Suntalia with a questioning smile. "I wouldn't go quite as far as to say that we got quite a beating; I mean, it was quite unfair to have us fight again after a smashing win against the creatures of Grimm. And then again, beating would not be the correct term to use. 'Close match' works, however." Argent joked. He was well aware of the beating the team suffered through.

"'Slaughter' is more like it, for you two at least." A voice joked. "Sher comin' or what?" Persimmon rose from the seat directly opposite Oni, the hooded figure having mysteriously gone unnoticed up until now. He removed his cloak, revealing a casual white T-shirt and faded denim jeans underneath (Vacuo wasn't exactly a shirt and tie kind of place, after all). Taking a seat at the table, he hung the cloak on his chair. The insufferable smugness was already written on his face and nobody had even addressed him yet.

Argent sighed as Persimmon had revealed himself. Looking to the faunus, he replied, "Don't know. I don't think that it is in his person to skip a get-together, though." Argent didn't really know if Sherwood would be the type of person to skip or miss out on dinner, but he thought it was a good guess from his little time spent with his team leader so far.

Laughing at the conversation as a whole, Suntalia reached over and tousled Persimmon's short orange hair. "Now now, Percy." she chided, a dimpled smile crossing her face. "If it was a slaughter then all of you wouldn't be here, now would you?" Sitting back in her chair, Suntalia looked at Argent and then at Noctis. Realizing that Noctis hadn't said anything to anyone yet, she beamed a smile and leaned in so that he would notice her. "And how are you feeling, dear Noctis? Is your back feeling better? I certainly did my best to remove as much of the glass as I possibly could." Leaning in further, she rested her chin in her hands, all the while trying to grab Noctis' attention.

Persimmon could try to bail Noctis out of this one, but when he looked at Suntalia he knew it wasn't even worth trying. Instead, he sat back and watched the boy be tormented... again. Like he always was.

...Noctis really didn't have the greatest luck, did he?

Noctis looked up from his scroll to look at Talia. He shifted uncomfortably in his seat as he put his scroll face down on the table he was after all a gentlemen. He liked to give whoever he was speaking to his full attention. It's not like he was doing anything important on his scroll other than looking over the pictures he captured of the Beacon area to later practice drawing. Noctis felt naked without his white sweater like everyone could easily read him. Maybe he is just being too paranoid? Becoming the center of attention to people he didn't know made him start to rub his nose in a nervous habit. To the common eye, it looked like he was just relieving an itch.

"Fine. You got most of the glass out. I used a little extra to take the last few fragment out." Noctis tells her plastering a fake smile. "You sure did a number on me, Talia."

A little voice in the back of his head was telling him to make up an excuse to leave but another told him just to stick it out so his team wouldn't ask questions later.

Laughing lightly at what Noctis said, Suntalia reached out punched him lightly on his arm. "Don't worry Noctis! I wouldn't want to kill you off..yet" she replied, a mischievous twinkle in her eyes. Realizing how hungry she was, she took a quick look around the table. "So, it seems like we're only missing Sherwood" she commented, looking towards the door and then back at those around the table. "Did you want to just order? Or wait for Sherwood? Speaking of ordering..." Looking down at the table, Suntalia realized that Diamante hadn't even given them any menu. "DI DI!!!!" she yelled at the top of her lungs, surely disturbing the other customers. "WE NEED MENUS!!!! STAT!!!!" she continued yelling, her face barely suppressing the mirth that she felt in making Diamante's day harder. "Do you think that got his attention?" she inquired of her table, winking one her eyes while trying hard not to laugh.

Diamante dramatically flopped out of the door with a bunch of menus in hand, an exaggerated look of exasperation on his face as he stomped towards the group. "Sure, sure, expect me to do my job... Would you like some caviar with that, princess?" He gave Suntalia a playful smile to verify that he was kidding as he handed out the menus. The menu itself contained a paltry two pages of various noodle dishes, primarily of Atlesian and Mistralan varieties, followed by a mere four drink options. Quality over quantity was clearly their motto here.

Persimmon didn't pick up his menu right away; he was too busy being mesmerized by the beauty that had come to serve him. When finally he caught himself, he snatched up the menu and casually raised it to hide his beet red face, pretending to scrutinize his limited options very closely.

Not knowing what or how to order food from a menu, Argent just pushed his menu away from him; thinking he'd just get what Noctis was getting. Argent began to smirk as he realised what was happening when Percy began to cover his red face. Looking from Diamante to Percy and back to Diamante, and being a great friend and all, Argent decided to not interfere.

"I do hope that Sherwood arrives soon. It'd be a shame if the leader missed out on a team gathering."

"Only if the caviar is free" Suntalia remarked, giving Diamante a dimpled smile. Opening up the menu briefly, she debated on trying something new for a change, but then thought against it. "Well, I know what I'm getting!" she exclaimed, brightening even more at the thought of eating soon. Looking over at the others who were also looking over the menu, she contentedly leaned her chin on hand as her elbow rested on the table. "If Sherwood doesn't show up soon, then we may just have to eat his portion" she said, laughing lightly. "For now, we can always just order ourselves some drinks while we wait. Just feel free to order whatever you want. Tonight is on me and partially on Di Di" she remarked, shooting Diamante a mischievous smile before waving at his parents who were working in the kitchen.

Earlier today...

The door closes lightly behind Sherwood as he reenters his new dorm room. While a little messy from unpacking this morning, it's a good size room. Bigger than he had at home, up in the attic. Then again, he wasn't sharing that room with three others. With the others still out on the campus, the room held nothing to keep him from continuing his train of thought he's been on since this morning. Idly noting to himself he's rarely so introspective, he sits down at his desk.

He could accept being made a leader. He had fairly quickly, though Sherwood was positive he was the most surprised of ASPN. He didn't know what the headmaster, or headmistress, or well, anyone at Beacon must have saw. Sherwood's worked alone all his life. Even in his training to be ready for Beacon, his mentor Graham didn't so much work with him as throw him into danger with a bow he can barely pull. Sherwood's face quirks in amusement at the memory.

But this is Beacon. they must be able to see something. If they just voted amongst themselves, or worse, randomly selected there's no way the school would still be standing. Sherwood has to believe there was a reason. He opens a desk drawer, taking out a small block of wood. He draws his hunting knife from it's sheath and begins to whittle at the wood.

His mind free to wander as his hands settle into the familiar action, he thinks about the real problem. He doesn't know what to do as a leader. Not only did he work alone in the past, but he was rarely around anyone who'd go so far to call themselves a leader. Graham had the potential, but Sherwood never saw him take charge at anything. The only other face that comes to mind is the village chief. Now, to be fair, a political leader certainly isn't the same as a leader of Huntsman. Sherwood wouldn't say those have overlapping skill sets. But a leader has to be a leader right?

The chief was the kind of of guy who had a hand in everything. He was involved at every opportunity in everything. When the trading post was having issues with a supply chain, the chief organized a fix with the supplier. They didn't even need to ask, the chief was just on top of it. Sherwood hums. That's a good sum up to the man. He was on top of everything, and nothing escaped his notice. It gave him the appearance of someone whose incredibly organized. Not only with his own life, but organized in his dealings with the people in his care.

He turns the block of wood in his hand, rounding the other side as he just did the first. The chief was the first person to come to mind last night, as Sherwood thought over what he was supposed to do this morning as a leader. He wrote down everything he knew of his teammate's weapons and tried to summarize their fighting. He recorded semblances he knew. Then he considered how those weapons would work best individually. If the gears of the machine are in their element, won't the machine work the best it can? He stretches his arms around the back of the chair, rolling his shoulders at the same time.

At the very least, they did something. Let it be said ASPN didn't come out of the gates doing nothing, sitting around waiting to be eaten alive. The orders he gave were apparently passible, since there was no objection to them at the start. They did fine against the Grimm in the lecture. Sherwood had no expectation they'd work perfectly together on their first team fight.

But things fell apart against people. It was his job to lead them through that scenario, but he was under prepared. He never thought about how to coordinate people against people. Why would he have? And that's just the case. He sighs. He's never going to know what he and his team are fighting ahead of time. Not really. Unlike with the village chief, who can just call ahead to see the problem and worst comes to worst he has to wait a day to fix it while he gathers information, people's lives are on the line here. This line of thinking fails with missing information of even worse, with wrong information. What Sherwood's figured out in the last few hours of mulling this all over is he doesn't want to lead like the chief. But then, what to do? He places the wooden cylinder he carved on his desk. He takes another block and starts whittling.

Sherwood rattles through his meager friends and family in his mind. No one comes to mind as someone to take inspiration from. Even... actually, well he could look at the Professor, Suntalia and Savas. Savas, well... He seemed a bit like a loner. Maybe not Savas. Suntalia... well, he can learn more about her later at dinner. But Professor Oberon. He definitely agreed with what Sherwood's discovered for himself, that he's going into this with lives in his hands. If Sherwood were to share with the older man, he's sure the Professor would agree planning based off of information Sherwood doesn't have is foolish. How can he lay out plans and guide the team without all the information? It seems like a catch twenty two. He looks down at his block. He did a more on the center than he intended. Granted he intended to split the block in the first place, make two equal squares...

Oh. What Professor Oberon said about listening to the team. Maybe what he meant was that his teammates were his sources of information. They can fill in the blanks, seeing the information that he doesn't. That must be why teams work as teams. If Sherwood can't gather all the information, whatever information that may be, his team will do the remaining.

Knife and block forgotten, Sherwood grabs a notebook and pencil. So how would a leader get all that information? Even if Sherwood knew what he was looking for, he still has to communicate with three teammates in a possibly very short time frame. It's not like they can sit down and talk it through. He taps the eraser against the desk at the thought. He wasn't much of a talker. Loathe as he was to do it, Sherwood goes back to the village chief. How would he get information? Surveys, census. Custer from the general store always seemed to have something he was writing up for the chief. Maybe that's how he can do it. If he can find a sample at the library, or maybe a stationary store on the way to Vale it will be all the easier. Any reference point on figuring what he's supposed to be doing has to be helpful. Grabbing his knife and sheathing it on the back of his belt he heads out of the room. He's still confused, to be honest with himself. What he's trying to do completely escapes him. But at least he's doing something. Something has to better than sitting around.

Sherwood walks down another street of Vale city, at anything but the pace of the city dwellers around him. People flow around him like water around a log in a river. Dressed in his usual flannel and jeans, the only other thing on his person is a manila folder with a paper binding around it keeping it sealed shut.

Sherwood's never doubted his sense of direction before, but sprawling streets are quite different from the open sea of trees he's used to. He'll find out on the return trip if the skill carries over. If not... well, he's not in a rush to return.

Sherwood's gaze falls on building to building, taking a moment to taken in each of the the dozens, if not hundreds of different stores in the big city. Coming from a town with a single general store, the fact that an entire store could be dedicated to watches, or hair accessories amazes him. It's not that he didn't know so much variety existed, they certainly got the mail order catalogs out on the edge of the kingdom. It's so impressive just to see all the variety in such a small space. Including all the places to eat.

"..." Just as Sherwood begins to doubt he'll ever find the shop he's looking for, he stumbles upon a window with his team and Suntalia at a table inside. The bell jingles on the door as he steps instead, nodding in the direction of his teammates as acknowledgement.

"Ah suppose Ah'm late then. Ah got Ah little turned around out in the city." he says sheepishly, sitting down. "What'd Ah miss?"

"Dinner. We couldn't wait any longer. We already ate, the waitress took our plates, and we were just getting ready to go. So sorry Sher!" Persimmon smirked, making sure to exaggerate the sarcasm in his voice. "Oh, and make sure to be on your best behavior; Suntalia's teammates are watching." He said this in a low voice, almost a whisper, fairly certain that Sherwood would not have seen Oni or Diamante yet.

Sherwood looks at his partner with open and obvious confusion. The expressions doesn't change even as Argent takes over the active role, Argent's own advice finished as Sherwood rolls his shoulders in a shrug.

"Ah can't see not being. Good evening Miss Suntalia. Thanks ahgain for inviting us." Sherwood says with a bit of formality in his tone. The smile on his face is quite genuine. He picks up the menu and stares at the first page blankly for a moment. Putting it back down, he scratches the back of his neck sheepishly.

"Ah... Don't think Ah've ever had food like this. Ah'm not really sure what to order."

"Whatever do you mean, my good buddy Argent?" Persimmon rhetorically asked, innocently showing teeth.

Diamante shortly returned to see a new face in the crowd. "Ah! So your friend actually showed up, eh?" He strolled over to their table. "I'll take your orders now... Food and drink, please. We handle those both at once here. Any who do not order a drink will be served my stagnant dishwater. And don't be expecting Sunny to pay. She won't." As an unconventional restaurant, it was pretty typical of Diamante to run this routine for new customers. He only hoped that Suntalia wouldn't screw it up for him.

"There goes my plan on setting the hospital on fire," Noctis says with a straight face.

He stares at the menus for about ten more seconds before he finally decides to get the Mistralian noodles since that was the closest thing to home for the moment, hell maybe even the Atlesian one to eat later, that is if he could sneak it past Percy.

"I'm ready to order. Can I get the Mitralian noodles, Atlesian noodles, and a soda."

After a good few seconds of thought, Argent looked up to Diamante. "Uh, yeah, I'll have the same as him, thanks." Argent said with a smile while gesturing to Noctis.

Argent had never really been to a restaurant before. Between him training, going to school and resting he hadn't got the chance to eat more than home cooked meals. Though he had assumed his mum's cooking was the best out there (it was good) so there was no real reason to seek out restaurants in the first place.

Perking up excitedly as Sherwood joined the group, Suntalia rested her chin in her hands as she listened to the younger students banter on. Swinging her legs underneath the table, she turned when Diamante showed up to take their orders. Laughing lightly at his dishwater remark, she turned and whispered really loudly to the others. "Don't take the dishwater...it'll make you look all sour like Di Di here." Flashing a dimpled smile towards Diamante, she quickly looked at the menu before handing it back to him. "I'll take an extra large of my usual, my dear. As for paying, that's why you're my partner in crime, right?" she asked, looking innocently at him with a complete straight face.

Having had a chance to recover from the last time the beautiful waitress showed herself, Persimmon was much more prepared to handle himself this time. He gave a suave smile and leaned in towards her. "Hey, I'll take whatever you recommend, sweetie. I ain't picky."

Diamante expertly scribbled each person's orders down as they called for them. "The usual for Sunny, two orders of Mistralan, Atlesian for the lovely couple, two sodas- I'm guessing Dr. Salt is fine?- and a swift smack in the face for the orange haired gentleman. As for you, sir," he turned to address Sherwood directly, "You can't go wrong with today's special!" As for Suntalia's comment about paying, he decided to let this one slide. They clearly weren't getting anywhere on that front.

"Ahlright, Ah'll take that." Sherwood says to their waiter. He turns to his assembled team, relaxing in to his seat. It had been a long day before he end up in the city and the last few hours in Vale didn't prove anymore relaxing. It was nice to sit down.

"Well Ah'm glad we could eat with you Miss Suntalia. Ah'm sure were ah lucky team to get ah chance like this." he says politely.

"Lucky indeed. We'll be really lucky if we get to see Diamante slap Percy here in the face." The faunus remarks with a hearty laugh.

"Wait a minute, lovely couple?" Argent crossed his arms, thinking that he would soon be at the butt of a joke of Persimmon's. Karma is not a fan of Argent.

"Uh Couple? We aren't,"" Noctis began but started to blush.""We aren't together! What makes you think that?"

Becoming the center of attention is not his thing. If he could just die here in his chair that would be great.

Laughing lightly at everyone's remarks, Suntalia reached over and gently jabbed at Noctis' shoulder and winked at him. Turning her attention to Sherwood, she beamed a smile at him. "The lucky one is me. It's not everyday that I get to make four new friends." Keeping the fact that she normally makes around six to eight new friends on a daily basis, she was happy nonetheless that she got to spend time with this team.

Deciding to change the topic as Noctis seemed embarrassed by Diamante's remark, a remark that will get him a scolding later, Suntalia turned her full attention on to Sherwood. "So what caused you to be late for dinner? Couldn't figure out what to wear? Did you get lost? Was there an elderly lady that you helped cross the street? Maybe there was a hot girl that you swooned over while coming here? Please do tell!" she asked excitedly. Resting her chin in her hands while leaning on her elbows, she shot Sherwood a dimpled smile, while her legs swung back and forth under the table.

Sherwood was admittedly a little lost in the flow of questions Suntalia had thrown at him. Thinking on it, he couldn't recall every having met someone with so much energy. He blames the city idly, though he can't decide if so much energy is actually a bad thing.

"Well, Ah did get a bit lost. Ah actually left Beacon Ah few hours ago." he says. "Ah figured it wouldn't take too long to get used to the layout of ah city. Just like another hunting ground." He scratches the back of his head.

"Ah may have over estimated that one. Ah probably explored maybe ah third of the city? Ah tried to keep track, but the streets ahren't always straight." He pauses for a moment to mentally muse on the fact that a street isn't always blocked shaped which makes it not a block at all.

"But ah. Yeah. It'd be helpful if there was ah map or trail markers. Ah suppose Ah'll have to wait for my sense of direction to ahjust." he finishes. Noticing he'd been the only to speak, he coughs slightly and straightens his back a little. That has to be rude to the rest. They surely want to share as well.

"Are you ah long time resident of the big city Miss Suntalia?" he asks.

Listening intently to Sherwood, Suntalia did her best to resist her urge to laugh. His accent on words was very unique and she couldn't help but smile at it. Hearing his question back to her, she brightened up and gave a dimpled smile. "Actually, I didn't grow up in a big city, but near a monastery in Vacuo." Smiling while she rested her chin in her hands, she looked at those around her. "Betcha weren't expecting that, huh?" she inquired, laughing lightly.

"Ah'm not quite sure what to expect anymore Miss Suntalia." Sherwood says with a smile. With a quirk of his brow, he adds "Ah don't mean anything by that of course. The city is so different from where Ah'm from Ah can't keep up." He looks wistfully out of the shop windows to the busy street.

"We haven't even had much time to get to know each other even." He says. He tilts his head slightly. He crosses his arms on the table in front of him, left hand holding his right wrist.

"... Well. Ah'm from Vale, border town called Baum. Ah grew up to ah family of hunters." he says before he smiles wryly. "Game, not Grimm. Ah'll my skill with ah bow came from long days of hunting." Catching himself going on a tangent, he coughs slightly.

"Ah ended up meeting ah retired Huntsman ah few years back. He was the original owner of Tristram. He got me started on the Huntsman path, and ah obviously inherited the bow." He finishes. He looks at each other huntsman in training at the table. He blinks and swallows. He unconsciously hopes someone else picks up from there. Sherwood never considered himself much of a talker. Maybe his partner can take over before he starts digging a hole.

Diamante exited the room to prepare food.

Persimmon didn't really listen to his partner's story. Sherwood didn't seem like the kind of guy with a lot of different stories to tell; he was sure if he cared, he could hear that one again some other day. What was far more interesting were the expressions he made while telling it. My, I've got myself quite the awkward team here, haven't I? Seeing Sherwood talk himself into a corner was fun, sure, but it would get old fast. Now seemed like a good time to bail him out. "So, you're from Vacuo, Suntalia? I probably should have guessed that. You certainly seem to have the characteristic Vacuan sense of liberty!" Or she was just reckless and childish, but who would say that to a cute girl's face?

"And what is that supposed to mean, Persimmon?" Argent smirks at his teammate with his arms crossed, leaning back in his chair. "And yes, I'm from Vacuo. I was born there and lived there for the first few years of my life. But everything changed when the---." Argent paused. "Well, when we..left." Argent didn't really know why his family left; only that they did.
