Appearance: Aurelia is 5’5 and weighs 160 lbs., she’s physically fit and can keep up easily with her teammates, however due to her body type she’s very shapely and soft at first glance. Her skin is very fair and her bright, steel blue eyes seem to pierce into anyone she looks at. She always wears her silver, slightly wavy hair in a half-up-half-down hairstyle unless forced to change it due to special events or her mother requires it.
Outside of her normal Beacon Uniform, she likes to wear tattered blue jeans and her favorite old, faded orange shoes with a thin black sweatshirt and light gray jacket.
History: Lives in Mistral with her grandmother, mother and father, and four other siblings. Her family is all employed by her grandmother who runs a prominent dust business within the city. She spent time learning from her grandmother of all the different people who used dust, primarily the stories of prominent huntsmen and huntresses. Her father and mother were reluctant of her choice to become a huntress at first, but her grandmother strongly supported her decision and helped ease her parent’s minds.
Aurelia was fortunate to have a happy childhood, enjoying time with her family and playing with other kids growing up in her neighborhood, and she developed a very close relationship to the kid next door to her named Leo.
Aurelia and Leo went through school together, both of them attending Sanctum Academy to become huntsman. In their last year of school at Sanctum, the two went on a camping trip with two other friends in a wooded area very popular for outdoor recreation, where it was said the Grimm population was heavily controlled. During this trip the group was surprised by a Grimm attack, and Leo, using his own semblance to help Aurelia and the others escape, faced the Grimm to save his friends. By the time the others returned with help, it was already too late...
She graduated Sanctum, but for the rest of the year the incident haunted her, and she grieved heavily over the loss of her closest friend. The loss of her friend to the Grimm strengthened her resolve to become a Huntress, however after attending Haven for a semester, she found that she could not walk through school or through her neighborhood without people whispering, or memories of her childhood with Leo flooding her with grief and guilt. She approached her parents and grandmother as well as her professors at Haven, asking if she could apply to Beacon Academy in the kingdom of Vale to continue her training as a Huntress. Her parents were hesitant due to the distance, but her grandmother wholeheartedly agreed, voicing that the change in scenery would help her find new opportunities and meet new people.
She was accepted, packed her things, kissed her family goodbye, and set off to the Kingdom of Vale to start anew.
Personality: A bit reserved when first introduced to people, however over time she warms up and reveals a bright, witty personality that she uses to help boost and cheer her teammates up. She can be very stubborn at times, this is a family trait passed down the Steele line and developed fully by her grandmother. Fiercely loyal to her friends and teammates, she will always remember what people say and promise to her, and beware to those who break their promises…
Aura and Semblance: Aurelia’s aura is a bright shade of Steel Blue (#63b8ff).
Aurelia’s semblance, Steel, allows her to concentrate her aura to different parts of her body, shielding her from heavy blows and allowing her to take hits that should normally knock her out. The more she concentrates on a part of her body, the stronger the shield, but her stamina and semblance will run out more quickly this way. She can usually hold a shield fore 5 minutes before having to take a breather, however the harder the hit, the shorter amount of time she can keep her shield.
Combat Behavior: Aurelia prefers to distance herself from the fight and observe her friends, supporting them and aiding them in their combat using her sniper rifle. When forced to switch to her secondary form, she primarily focuses on keeping her target at a distance and maintaining control of the fight, dodging hits and relying on past martial arts training and quick reflexes, while looking for openings to attack her opponent.
While her reflexes are quick, one of her major weaknesses is freezing in battle due to sensory overload, as well as being easily intimidated by her opponents. She does well in one-on-one combat, as well as observing from a distance, however it can be easy for her opponents to overwhelm her if they are quicker, or if she feels outmatched. Aurelia is young and very inexperienced when it comes to combat, but she is determined to improve her skills and abilities.
WEAPON
Name: Moonlight Bolt
Primary Form: The weapon's primary form is a high caliber bolt-action sniper rifle that Aurelia carries on her back. The body of the gun is white, with black highlights running down the entire length of it in striped patterns. The rifle fires a magazine of 6 standard .338 cartridges and has a maximum effective range of 2400 meters.
Secondary Form: The barrel of the rifle extends out several feet and the body of the weapon folds out to form a large guandao that Aurelia uses in melee combat.
Dust Functions: Aurelia commonly uses Dust ammunition to great effect with her sniper rifle.
History: Inspired by the traditional weapon of the guandao, a weapon common in her culture’s ancient history, Aurelia knew that she wanted to keep a distance from her opponents, so in addition to the bladed weapon she designed the sniper rifle, specifically bolt-action to train herself to be as accurate and efficient with her weapon as possible.
