With a determined "Hmpf" Kisha took the cards out of the small plastic box and began shuffling them, Hindu style.
"Where I come from, we call the game swimming, there's even a story to it, but it doesn't really have a happy ending. A ship goes down and only one person fits the last lifeboat, but four people want to be rescued, so you have to play a card game to decide who survives. You have three attempts, if you lose every time, you have to swim, that's why we called it swimming. But you don't die if you swim, you can still swim to the shore and survive, however, if you lose again you go under and drown." She explained to her teammates and put five stacks of three card each on the floor of the room. Then she threw one of the thousand pillows, which she had somehow packed into only one suitcase when she first arrived at Beacon, from her bed next to the stacks and threw herself on the pillow.
Before she started though, she looked up at the team leader "Don't you wanna play?" she asked confused, then the thought hit her "OOOOOOOoohhhh, you don't know how to play! Don't you worry, Nathy, I've got that under control, so," she took a deep breath "Everyone has three cards in their hand and there are three cards in the middle, the goal is to have the highest score at the end. You can earn points in two ways, either with the same symbol or the same number. When you choose to have the same symbol, the cards are counted by the numbers they represent. King, Jack, and Queen are worth 10 points, an Ace is 11. For the number part, you need three times the same number, two times don't. That then would always be 30 and a half points. With three aces you have 33 points and everyone loses a life. At a normal win, only the one with the lowest score loses a life. In order to increase your points, you must swap a card from your hand with one of those in the middle, or you can swap all three at once, but you can't swap two card in one round. If you don't want to swap you 'move', then it's the next one's turn. If you are convinced that your Hand is good enough to win, you 'knock', that means that everyone but you is once again in turn and then everyone has to show their card. If you have 31 points, that is, two 10's and one Ace, you must immediately reveal your cards and end the game, same with the 33 points. Simple, right? My dad taught me it when I was seven, so it's really easy. Well then, sit down," she finished, patting the floor next to her.
