I've got enough characters in need of teams right now that I could make a team with just myself if I wanted. But that's pathetic, so I won't. ^^
Anyway, all of my student characters except Hagane and Diamante are currently teamless and don't have teams on the horizon, so I'm pitching any one of them out into the world. Whoever wants to start a team, you can take your pick, or have me choose whoever I think fits best.
-
Awesome! I have a teamless character too. Her name is Leona Koningsbluaw.
Here's a summary of her bio:
She is a hand to hand combat fighter with small pistols she keeps in her sleeves. Her semblance is called "Only Up" and it's where she can coat things in her aura and then toss it 30 feet in the air without touching it. When mixed with dust, she can also make towers of either ice, rock, or fire depending on what dust she uses.
She likes to bake but has a bad habit of burning things. She likes video games and dust embroidery. She is seen as the overly polite girl.

Hey! Welcome to the site by the way. Happy to have you! ^^
I just went through and updated my signature. Anyone except Hagane in the Beacon first year category is available. Lissa and Jacob I've never gotten to play at all yet, so those would be my first picks to put on a team. If nobody has any preferences, then I'll just look through the other three once we have enough people and pick the best character to submit from that.
-
Ok so I am officially calling Gray's team a dead one. Also a fresh team is an opportunity for a timeline reset on Gray and he desperately needs it. I'll submit Gray.
-
You're not the only one, Floob :P I have a load of 1st years with no team, so I could do the same thing you did and let others choose, but...
I think this one'll be fun to play. Submitting Graham for you to peruse at your leisure.
-
I will throw Serins hat in the ring! Id love to get him a active team.
-
Oh, well, Mylies... The first team's already full. I have more than one character in need of a team, though! No saying I can't use this thread to build more than one team!
As for the first three responses, I've reviewed your characters and decided to submit Lissa to the first team! My reasoning:
-Lissa is a melee glass canon which suits this team's tendency towards highly aggressive melee play
-I think her cartoonishly bubbly personality will contrast amusingly to the rest of the team
With Lissa, we end up having an awkward set of letters to work with, though. We're looking at [L | L/K | G/S | G/D].
Using all first names would be super difficult, I think. ^^;
-
If LilLySeeD counts as a color we could do that as a name. LLSD could be... a pale green or a white. Like #ccffcc
-
Alternatively, LLGD (Lilly Gold) yields this #FADA5E.
-
GLGD - Gal Gadot :P
Nah but seriously. I like the sound of "Lillyseed," but "Lilly Gold" might fit our team better.
Been reeeeeally trying to come up with first-name only names but the best I can come up with are GGLL (Gel?) and GLLG (Gulag). The former doesn't exactly sound good and the latter doesn't really have a color.
-
Well. I'm a bit late to the party (timezones tend to do that to me) but here is my 2 cents. Both lillyseed lillygold and Gel are all fine with me as I tend to prioritise the colour rule over sounding cool. (Look at team cabbages for proof) I also just want to point out doyble up letters standing for one like with SSSN means that we could be team LLSD (acid) though I doubt that would fly.
-
Assuming Lisa Lime is going to be the leader I think we should go with LillyGold or LillySeed. I'm leaning toward LillyGold too.
-
What I'm hearing is that Lilly Gold, Lillyseed, and Gel are our options here. So anyone could be leader if we pick one of those.
So maybe we should narrow it down to Lilly Gold and Gel and then pick a leader?
I don't know how well Lissa would work out. She's reckless, happy-go-lucky, and immature.
-
Just saying that leaders don't have to be the first letter. Couple teams don't follow this format either.
It's a big difference between personalities, and I'm interested to see how this plays out. After giving each profile a quick look-over I think Leona seems the most logical choice for team leader, which also fits into the first name/leader thing. I suppose Graham technically also fits a leader role, but it's up to the rest of you to choose.
-
I agree that it should be either Leona or Graham. I think Graham may be the better choice due to his ability to remain calm in tense situations.
-
I'm just saying that if options exist to keep the first letter, we should stick with them. Just like how I don't like using last names if I can avoid it.
Anyway, I could see either, but I'm gonna lean towards Leona/LillyGold.
-
Leona will happily take the leader's role!
If that's ok with everyone?
-
Okay! So I'll go ahead and post in the teams thread with the name LillyGold, color #FADA5E, and leader Leona.
Meanwhile, thinking I'll open this thread up again to find a character for Jacob!
-
Probably still need to use this thread for further discussions though. For example, initiation.
Always a fun time when a GM is needed...
-
I was thinking we could do that over a PM conversation, though.
-
Alright, on second thought, might as well discuss it here.
So, the main ways to work out an initiation would be to either seek out a GM and do the initiation the way they want to, or do a "first mission" type thing where we're already a team but we just have to get used to working like one. So the things we really need to discuss are A. Can we run it without a GM and B. Do we want to do a traditional initiation or not?
Bear in mind, if we decide not to bring in a GM I do have a Beacon teacher that could run it.
-
Lel, was going to say I have a teacher too :P
I think I can confidently say that we don't need a GM since we can potentially run it ourselves. Personally I want to try something different, but I can understand if traditional initiations are more to your likings. It would be really interesting if we can get both teachers involved in a way that makes sense but I think that's going to be tricky.
-
I'm down with something unorthodox.
-
I'm thinking since we have our own teachers lets do it our own way so we don't have to have a GM. But being new to the site, I'm up for whatever you guys decide.
-
Okay well, I don't have any definitive ideas but as a baseline, maybe we can work from this?
Crystal (my teacher character) puts out a request for a dangerous mission, one that she will oversee. If you want, Monster, we can throw in that your teacher will also be coming along to make sure the students don't get hurt.
Lissa carelessly accepts the mission on the team's behalf, not even running it by the others first. She just assumes they would all go along with it and gets overly excited.
-
I like it! Let's do it!
-
"WHAT THE FUCK LISA!" Yes I am for this idea.
-
Sounds good! Only thing I might suggest is a small amount of brainstorming beforehand to solidify the plot before jumping headlong into RPing, but otherwise let's get this thing going!
-
Which part should we solidify? Like, how our characters are going to act? Or what we are going to do on the mission?
-
Mainly directed at Floob since he came up with the idea so he's our pseudo-GM for this thread. Just a reminder that having a general direction for the thread is better than just letting the plot go wherever. So knowing what the plot is going to be about before starting the thread.
Perhaps after Lissa randomly accepts the quest, one of the members asks my teacher for help or he notices the level of difficulty or something.
-
I just meant that we should use that as a baseline for brainstorming, I don't have nearly enough in mind to actually start a thread!
We should plan out what the mission objective will actually be and what point in the story we actually want to start, and then I don't mind working as a pseudo-GM from there. What I mean by that is, should we start with Lissa taking the request, Lissa telling the team about it, the team on their way to the mission location, or already on-site about to begin?
As for objectives, I'm supposing a rescue mission of sorts. Crystal mysteriously puts out a request for students to assist a group of faunus nomads who were supposedly cornered by Grimm near the ruins of Mountain Glenn. She keeps the details rather surface-level but reassures students that there will be staff in place to assist them should the task prove too dangerous for students alone.
-
Ah. My apologies, this fever is messing with my brain :(
It would save us some time and skip some overused ideas if we assume the team has been acquainted with each other already. As such Lissa breaking the news to the group would be a good place to start.
-
Agreed. That said timeline wise can we please be before the vytal festival and the bombings. I'm hoping to play a pre emo Gray.
-
I think the mission location is a great one! (Mwahahahaha! Backstory time!) And Lisa telling us about the mission is a great place to start too. I don't know how the timeline hopping works around here so I'll leave that up to you guys.
-
Fine by me. Whenever you're ready, Floob! Also, do please tell me if and where Professor Talandar fits in, if at all ;)
-
The thread is up. (http://rwby-rpg.rwbyfanon.com/index.php?topic=1351.0)
And yes, I'm setting up some plot stuff for Crystal. Don't worry, the mission isn't totally a farce.
-
Oh, sorry, forgot to mention I don't really establish a posting order in threads I GM. Post when it feels natural, and if we need to enforce a strict order we'll just go with whatever order the first few posts come in. Whenever you're ready, you can feel free to post!
-
Did you just make a team thread without posting your team in the Team List?
REEEE
-
There. Happy? :P
-
You can reeee but can you WRYYYYYYY?
-
Yare yare...
Teme shoushinshoumei no shijou saitei na otoko daze.
-
I can, because the initials weren't even bolded :D
