"So I'm sure you heard, I only got the news just a minute ago before airing, the Tournament has started! Oh I am so excited I wish I could join! But I can't, I have a job here! So right now is the preliminary rounds for first year students in the 1v1 brackets. So tell me who do you think will win, you can look up their profiles in the listings."

CHARACTER

Name: Bastion Kladr
Known by the people of Islium as the "Man of the Great Wall"

Age: 34

Species and Gender: Giant Panda Male

Symbol: A Segment of a Castle Wall.

Occupation: Scientist, Search and Rescue Worker

Appearance: Bastion is a real giant, standing at nearly 8 feet tall and weighing 250 pounds, most of the weight coming from his bulky huge muscles. He is bald except from the most magnificent moustache and beard mankind has ever seen. He is also has bushy eyebrows. His defining Faunus trait, is his black circles around his eyes. 

History: Bastion Kladr was born in Atlas, and from young was trained to be quite the military soldier due to his parents being high ranking generals. He was a natural general and beast of the battlefield. By 26 he had more than 31 different medals and 17 titles to his name. Even those who discrimate the Faunus would not dare to make fun of him.

But he was no cruel heartless soldier.

He was an aspiring scientist with a heart of gold, he messed with milotary machines to be make serve both as a weapon, and as an aide. At first the Atlesian's higher ups agreed, but they start to see no "benefit" and scrapped his creations. Enraged, he destroyed an entire base.

Taking his blueprints and whatever he could scrap he wandered the continent, a refugee. He did not know that he was being monitored. Till one day he was approached by a woman, who claimed she was an Islium ambassador and wanted to bring him in. He was reluctant at first, thinking it was a spy from the Atlas government, but followed her regardless.

After going through a weird initiation into Islium citizenship, he took up a room to continue his research and work. The ambassador often visits from time to time. He was not the most welcomed person, coming from a military background, Atlas no less. But the society accepted him which he was grateful for.

He developed the C.A.S.T.L.E(Cast Armor Special Terrain Lancer Elite) armor, an mechanical suit designed to provide humanitarian aid without being harmed. The suit would provide shelter in the middle of battle and if enough come together can become a portable saferoom for care. The suit is also made to stop conflict like riots and serve as a tool for rescue operations.

C.A.S.T.L.E armor is fitted with several machines and functions, making it a really heavy suit. Hydraulics are installed to help the user move the suit's heavy weight. The armor has a multi cut tool, a electric blade saw is installed in the left arm. The right arm is fitted with a thick wire that has a hook at the end. The right arm can shoot this hook to latch to objects and serve as a tether or stabilizer. The legs of the armor are made for all terrain. Spikes will come out from the sole upon command and the sole is a special mechanism itself for it can adjust the grip of the sole. The legs also have a stablizer that comes out from the heel and rockets to help the armor move quickly for a short while. Only area not affected by the change is the area where spikes come out. The helmet is fitted with optical heat sensors and health scan tools. It also contains a database of different problems face in a search and rescue operation, like hyperthermia. The overall armor can lift more than 400 pounds and withstand a hit from a crashing airship. The armor comes along a 2m by 2m(height by width) barricade shield that can expand into a 2.5m by 6m wall.

His invention made by more likable among the people of Islium, as such an invention can help with search and rescue operations but some view it as a possible exploitable armor for war. Bastion agreed to never use the armor for war should it come.

At age 30, he married the ambassador that brought him here, Belladonna Canary and now has a two year old daughter named Skadi.

Personality:

Aura and Semblance: His aura is Gray and has stronger defensive capabilities. His Semblance is Protection. Protection serves one simple purpose, to protect. Bastion can conjure a dome shield around anyone he chooses. The dome shield can withstand as much as Bastion can. If Bastion can't stand, the dome shield would just be a piece of paper. If applied on Bastion himself, it would instead just be a large dome around him in a 3m radius that makes him the center.  He can only apply the shield to one person, including himself. The shield lasts for 3 minutes.

Occupation: Musician, Dancer, Singer, 4th Year Beacon Student

Appearance: Haley is 5'7", weighs 48 kilos. She has a lithe hourglass figure, ample breasts and hips. She has fair skin and long brown hair that is somewhat wavy towards the end, she ties certain parts of her hair in long braids. She has brown eyes, though she wears contact lenses that change the iris color to gold. She does keep a pair of plain black spectacles should she wanted to wear them instead of contact lenses. She is myopic. She always brings a brown satchel with her and overall is basically attractive and can be a boy's eyecandy.

Combat Attire: ShowHide
Haley's combat attire is pretty simple, an armored vest with gloves and boots. She wears camouflage gear under the vest and beige jeans. She wears an tool belt as a belt.

Haley wears several different outfits, but one thing that stays for certain is a locket with her symbol on it that she wears around her neck.

She wears really expensive clothing(usually dresses) whenever she is home, just like Casual there are several dresses she wears but the locket remains


History: Haley upbringing was of the aristocrat type. From young she was fed with a silver spoon in her mouth. At first she was quite the brat, but as she grew older she became less of a brat and more like a respectable lady thanks to her mother.

Her father was a Dust and Machine tycoon, her mother a dust researcher by profession. They both met funnily enough when her father's business first started. Unlike certain Dust companies, his wasn't hit hard by White Fang as her father's employees have a higher ratio of faunus to humans and was a very fair and strict man.

Haley had dust knowledge drilled into her brain from young, but her interests lie in music and dance. Seeing this, her mother hired tutors to teach her. Haley was a surprising natural. Her voice impressed her singing tutor and her dance tutor had to hand it to her that she is good.

Haley managed to learn several instruments by the age of 11, but as puberty struck her, so did a little heart string. She fell in love with rock. She would secretly sneak out of her manor and learn how to play instruments like the bass and electric guitar and drums.

However one day her parents found out and put her on house arrest. She couldn't leave for several weeks unless it was to go to her school. She spent her time reading story books she never touched, even children's books.

When the house arrest ended, she has gained a fascination for Hunters and Huntresses because of all the story books, but she did not know where to start or even get approval from her parents. And due to her lack of a social circle, she couldn't ask friends. So she snuck out again in hopes of finding an answer, and oh boy she did.

She was face to face with a White Fang Assassination Squad, getting ready to break into her manor. But to her surprise, she felt a hand familiar to her shoulder. It was her family chef Boderick, but he wasn't wearing his uniform, he was wearing a different attire. He protected her and took out the Squad at the same time. Haley knew who to go to.

So for a few years, Haley often snuck into the kitchen and asked Boderick to teach her. At first Boderick was hesitant, as he had a job and everything. But eventually he gave in and gave her short but educational lessons. But Boderick couldn't give her any practical lessons as they were confined to the kitchen.

Boderick did a bit of letter writing managed to convince Haley's parents to let her study in Beacon. So before Beacon, Boderick had a few friends come along with him and Haley on a hiking trip through Mount Glenn, but not too high. It was fun, she learnt many things and even killed a few Grimm herself.

So she entered Beacon. At the start, she wasn't the most engaging person, as nothing could prepare her for Beacon's lessons. She fell behind but pushed herself to keep up. She did by the end of the first year.

Second year was a special year, her crush asked her out, she agreed. She even gotten the locket from him. But at the same time it was the saddest as, her boyfriend died to a disease the exact same year. She became moody and refused to speak to anyone.

Third year was when she got on her feet, her friends helped her on with moving on, though the locket had no purpose anymore, she kept it, as a sort of memento of him. She rejected several confessions because of her previous experience.

Personality: Haley by the Briggs Myers theory is a Mediator(INFP-A).

 She is introverted and prefers a close group of friends than a wide social circle. She is always listening and trying to respect both sides of an argument without siding. She however is quite disorganized and indecisive. But she always has a positive outlook, even in the worst of situations and people. She has also has time management issues. She also tends to give into people's request and has a hard time saying no.

Haley does try to keep from interacting too much, as she is often misunderstood for her very interesting accent and personality. She doesn't fall under the stereotype jerk aristocrat, instead she is gentle and kind, but considering your feelings before hers. She has a soft spot for soft things and big things and especially cute objects.

But oh boy you wouldn't guess it is Haley whenever she starts rocking out. She is almost a totally different person. She acts more wild and quite the shocker. She basically lets loose of herself in music. Also if you prod her enough that she gives in, she will rap if you ask.

But one thing is for certain, she doesn't want to be a romantic relationship. She is hesitant about love and often refuses confessions. But secretly she wants someone to make her feel whole again. Also she isn't a fan of her middle name Rich so she tends to leave it out when introducing herself.

Though Haley doesn't like to reveal it, she is quite a dust nerd, naming you every known possible combination and possible effects from these combinations. The reason she keeps a toolbelt because she really keeps tools in there and knows how to fix things. She is very embarrassed about that fact though that she was such... ungirly person.

PS: Haley really loves chocolate, she would die for it. She keeps bars of chocolates with her. No matter where no matter when.

Aura and Semblance: Her aura color is Violet. and her Semblance is Heart String. Haley creates a tether between herself and a person. Once tethered, the person gains a boost in aura pool as she feeds them aura and enhances aura based abilities(the things aura does naturally, not Semblance). Haley on the other hand, can fly towards towards tethered allies. Tethers last about a half an hour and she can only tether up to three people at a time, but only one will gain the boost. Requires physical contact to tether. Each tether costs 5% of her Aura.

Combat Behavior: Haley specializes in killing things with swift actions before making a quick getaway. She kills from afar and is no pushover nearby either. Her hand eye coordination works well with short reach melee weapons(like daggers) and she has really fast hands. Main problem is that she has to rely on others inorder to do some serious damage and getaways.

The most unique thing about her fighting style is that instead of fighting, Haley calls in “on the spot choreography”, because she literally dances in a fight.

However she lacks armour and endurance so keeping her at bay while hitting her hard is the way to go when fighting Haley.

Though not really useful, she can peel potatoes,perfectly that are in mid air for intimidation. Blame Boderick for teaching her that.

WEAPON

Name: Scatter Gun

Primary Form: A crossbow shaped machine gun. Unlike machine guns, the clip is loaded directly at top of the crossbow. A scope is attached at the top of the grip.

Secondary Form: She basically turns the crossbow machine gun into a shotgun on rapid fire. She attaches a component that resembles a hopper and loads pellets into it and goes ham on anything in front of her.
She can do that or change the barrel to a sniper barrel and fire sniper bullets.

Tertiary Form: The crossbow’s limb folds in and the grip is flipped upwards. She then can Scatter in her satchel along with 5 bars of chocolate.

WEAPON

Name: Quicksliver

Primary Form: Quicksilver is a violet violin. One of her favoured instruments. But it has a thin shortsword hidden inside that she can pull out. She keeps Quicksilver in a violin case and brings it with her sometimes.

History: Haley wasn't really keen on weapon making so Boderick bought her Scatter and Quicksilver as a birthday present. She made a satchel to hold everything she needed, 20 clips of machine gun ammo, 15 rounds of sniper ammo, and two whole bag of pellets, each bag containing up to 200000 1.3mm iron pellets. Also 5 bars of chocolate and space to put Scatter.

Anyway guys and gals, today is also special for City Cinderella, because you see, right now I'm being broadcasted over all kingdoms in Remnant," Venus lets out a sigh before clearing her throat. "Good morning dear listeners, whether you are going to school, Beacon, Signal, work or just lazing around, I'll be here talking about the lastest news in various subjects from music to Hunters.

For those new let me introduce myself, I'm Siren Voice and I'm the host of City Cinderella, feel free to drop a call or a message on the scroll for any song requests or just want to ask me a question about anything really, other than who I really am, that remains a secret till that day comes. Our first song, to wake up those half dead morning brains,  is this awesome remix by Asterisk.

Venus clicked her mouse and the song started playing, she laid back of her reclining chair and sighed taking of her headphones, unlike the other Beacon students, she comes to school later because of her job. She had 4 minutes before the song ends so she gets herself an energy drink from her mini fridge. With a hiss, she gulps down the drink and slowly feels the energy flowing. If she was going to sit here from early morning till lunch time before heading off to Beacon, she would need it.

Occupation: Radio DJ, 3rd Year Beacon Transfer Student, 3rd Year Haven Student(Former)

Appearance: Venus is very beautiful so to say, with the average female height of 156cm and average weight of 60kilos. Her long auburn locks reach the tailbone complemented by a red headband and oddly alluring emerald eyes. She is fair and her skin is smooth. She wears simple earrings and no makeup. Hourglass figure and somewhat normal three sizes. She does have six packs and lean muscles, especially near her legs and thighs.

Venus wears the same outfit most of the time, except formal events and other various events that require a change of clothes to suit it. But usually Venus just alters it. It is a plain gray T-shirts with a violet scarf around her neck along with a simple reddish brown pleat skirt and

History: Venus, despite her name, was no fashion queen nor a beauty queen despite being the most beautiful in the family. And considering her family background of models, she was often forgotten and in the shadows of her two older sisters. Family outings, she is often left behind. Food brought back, she gets nothing. This went on for 10 years before she just was frick it and left home, taking a large amount of cash with her along with stuff she needed. Though she avoided the police, she eventually stopped avoiding them after figuring out they are not looking for her.

Now with this new found freedom, she began to explore Vacuo but did not know what to do. She sat down in a cafe when she heard the radio. That's when she thought, ‘My voice shall be heard’. She bought herself a small flat, and turned it into a miniature radio station. At first, the channel did not have a name, and just went by the alias ‘The Voice’ that talked about news, trends and various gossip and rumors, even game updates or new releases on books and music, it was just really random. But eventually the name grew on her and it stuck.

To even further her freedom, she became a Shade student, something her parents strongly advise against, but since she did not have any she did. She did struggle, coming from a background with no combat experience whatsoever but her endurance paid off. So did ‘The Voice’. She was approached by an actual radio station who happened to be her neighbor heard her on air and decided to ask if they could hire her. Interestingly enough, it was the same radio station that got Venus into the radio DJ industry. But due to the location of the radio station, she had to move from Vacuo to Vale, which she did.

It took her time to settle in but thanks to Shade administration, she got a place in Beacon. Her radio segment, now called ‘City Cinderella' became a popular radio segment. As it grew, fans started asking for her real identity, as she went by the nickname ‘Siren Voice’. She became a bit pressured, but she kept denying to tell until the day comes, but because of this she got anxiety, so she is often holed up in the radio studio, actually her home is the radio studio. She asked her workplace to be modified to suit her needs, which includes a tree large enough to lie down on.

Personality: Venus really really likes to use that wide vocal range of her, works especially well when she is on air. She can't really call anyone a friend, she has trust issues. She gets anxious around strangers or people she met just once or twice. But once she sees she can trust them, she does so to the core. She gained a habit of eating lemon sherbets, because according to her helps her throat.

She does have a certain, spite against fashion models, those who claim they are beautiful and those who are beautiful not being humble about it. Her family past grinds her teeth and mentioning beauty products to her is pretty much a death wish.

But in the radio studio, she is different. She does not give a care about anything in the world while still considering the audiences' feelings and opinions. She is very friendly on the scroll and is willing to help you out.

Aura and Semblance: Her Aura is Orange and the Semblance is called Grand Voice. Her voice gets amplified to the point it can stop bullets fired from an Semi-Automatic Rifle by sound waves. Then she screams... Glass breaks. She needs to produce sound from her mouth in order for Grand Voice to work, so if you stop her from making any, Grand Voice is useless. Also sore threats. Each minute Grand Voice is on takes 1% of her Aura, but usage of her Semblance(when she screams and shouts) will take 4% per minute until she stops.

Combat Behavior: Venus' combat is interesting so to say. She does not hit you, until you hit her. That's her main fighting style, dodge until they hit you then hit back harder. Hence she has a very high stamina and quite the footwork. Her upper body strength is no joke either, but it is just above average strength. Her hand eye coordination is perhaps the most interesting aspect of her, it is in human you can.

That if you take the first move, if she does take the first move, watch for several things at once, the weapons and her feet.

Name: Yolos

Primary Form: Two yoyos. Yup. With very strong strings. She can remove the yoyos from the axis.

Secondary Form: Okay they aren't regular yoyos. The yoyos have two blades that come out whenever they are away from Venus.

Name: Nix and Lux

Primary Form: Two wide blade knives(Nix is white and Lux is black) that Venus can attach the axis to extend their reach.

History: Yoyos were something she used to play before running away from home. So in Shade she made the Yolos to have fun and a weapon at the same time. Nix and Lux were suggested by her teacher as a way to at least look worth her salt. They are also the reason why her hand eye coordination is really inhuman, can you keep track of the enemy and two yoyos trying to hit the enemy at the same time?

Name: Leaf Swiftwind, being a thief for hire she goes by Swift

Age: 17

Species and Gender: Fox Faunus Female

Symbol: A green and red fox forming a wind like shape

Occupation: Beacon First Year, Thief

Appearance: Leaf is 4’ 8" tall, weighing a light 48 kilos with a slim, sexy hourglass figure with large C cup breasts and wide hips. Her hair is a dark shade of orange that flows towards her back with fox ears sticking out from the top. Tanned skin, a beautiful face with emerald green eyes that attracts any of the opposite gender. Her large fox tail is usually wrapped around her neck like a scarf or just swishing around.

She wears the uniform in a very neat fashion despite her very sexy looks, though if she gets uncomfortable with the neatness sometimes she just removes the jacket. She doesn’t wear jewelry.

She casual wear simply consists of a dark green tank top that snuggles her breasts nicely, though sometimes it shows her bra slightly, but it was never with intention. Her belly shows by the way. She wears tight blue jeans with a brown belt and with brown leather boots on her feet. She wears a scarf around her neck with her symbol on it. She also wears navy blue gloves.

History: Leaf had a simple life in Vacuo, she lived with a caring set parents in a simple house. Sadly, one day Grimm managed to get past the guards around her village and attacked the settlements. She managed to run, her parents were sadly not able to make it. She wandered the desert for days, eventually the lack of water got her and she fainted. A traveler found her and took her in. Leaf thought she was saved, but the traveler is actually a slave driver, so she was treated badly, but it was enough to keep her alive. One day the slave driver stopped in a town and she made her escape, using a rusty piece of metal she made a lockpick and ran out of her cage. She then lived the rest of her days in the alley ways, she stole and stole to keep herself alive. Never had she been caught. When she saw she was now wanted, she escaped into the desert once again and into another town, where she became wanted again for stealing. Her constant switching of places made it hard for authorities to find her and she had always been a sly one, using disguises and tools to make her escape. Every time she escapes, she spends the time in the desert travelling and training, becoming quite the boxer and martial artist.  She found herself in a port town, and stowed away on a fishing boat. She ended up in the Vale.

When the fishing crew were drunk from celebrating their arrival, she snuck away into the town. She made a name for herself under the alias of Swift, a thief for hire and like the wind, stole and got away without a trace. She entered Beacon’s entrance exam as a way to give herself better training. She passed the physical exam and academic exam easily.

Personality: Leaf is carefree and lax, but can easily change to a hard working and focused person in a blink of the eye. She has trained herself to act in many different ways, making her easily approachable. She has one thing she definitely hates, is anyone touching her tail, she would immediately lash out. She has, however a craving for chocolate. She is sensitive about Vacuo based topics, seeing how she lost her parents there.

Aura and Semblance: Her aura is Green.
Her semblance is Swift, Swift allows Leaf to move at speeds equal to a formula 1 race car, hence allowing her to jump, even if she just moves a little bit, a story high and leap over 5 cars. This increased speed also makes her punches and kicks more painful, both to her and her opponent, which is why she wears gloves. Her increased speed also makes her be able to run up walls and ceilings. But this increased speed comes at a cost. If she stops or starts the use of her Semblance, she would have to accelerate for 5 minutes to reach max speed again. Also she may slam into things if she isn't careful about when she turns and how she does it. For every minute her Semblance is active, she uses 4% of her semblance, hence she can run for 25 minutes.

Combat Behavior: Leaf is swift, playing her opponent with her naturally fast speed, almost like if she is the wind herself. Her speed makes it hard for people to hit her. She uses her variety of tools to take down opponents quickly or disable them from fighting. She also is capable of doing Capoeira, Taekwondo and Boxing, making her a tough opponent at close range, which happens to be she style of fighting, close range combat.
However her small size and lack of protection makes attacks that do hit a lot more painful, so don't expect her endurance to be very high, her stamina is though. Also her weapons were not entirely made for combat, so unless she can dispatch the opponent quickly, she might have trouble. Her natural fast speeds will also cause a problem if she miscalculates, leading to possible injuries and slamming into things. Also those with really strong arms can really get her in a pinch, literally.

WEAPON

Name: Tools of the Trade

Primary Form: The Tools of the Trade is a group of tools she used back when she still a thief, she has managed to use her tools for battle. They hang from her belt.
There are a total of 8 different tools. She is developing more though, if she can “get" the resources.
Lock Pick: This tool is well, a lock pick. It hangs from the back of the belt slightly of center.
Throwing Darts: These small thin darts are kept in boxes that hangs vertically from the belt, but these babies are sharp enough to pierce through wood with ease. They come in packs of 30, and she has 4 of those boxes. 2 each at the side.
Grappling Hook: A small grappling hook, almost the size of a large fishing hook, attached to a strong, thin metal wire that is cooled around something that resembling a fishing coil. She has to pull herself up though. The line is 30 meters in length. In hangs just beside the throwing darts but close to the front. Of course she removes the grappling hook before she uses it. But since it is much lighter and different from most grappling hooks, the maximum weight this can carry is 50 kilos.
Nail Claws: Attachable nail claws that really are sharp. Kept in a box similar to the darts but different in inside design and it hangs horizontally. The box has the nail claws arrange so she just put her fingers into put them on. There is one box at the side behind the throwing darts for each hand. Her most basic combat item and a good glass cutter.
Smoke Bombs: Something she stole while in Vacuo, has never left them since. Kept in a small canister near the back of her belt, these bombs are wel, smoke bombs. Four are in the canister. She gets more in a shop in Vale, by buying.
Laser Pointer: Another item she stole in Vacuo, this one helps in distraction of guards and surprisingly Grimm. Hangs from the front of her belt.
Iron Line: The Iron Line sort of acts like a spider web, constraining the one caught. Coiled up into a simply box that hangs behind her throwing darts, Leaf uses it like a whip of sort, but it's just to constrain them. But let's say the person has the strength to lift a 90 kilo sword, then she might be in trouble as this Iron Line can snap if the person of that caliber tries to break free.
Dust Mines: The most powerful thing other than her excellent music playing on the ring flute. These dust bombs, the size of a small coin, contain tiny amounts of dust in dust form that do different things. They all have a set time of one second and can be activated through a remote signal. They look like discs but can stick to surfaces like walls and ceilings like glue. They are kept in a small box, each dust their own box. Each box has 5 Dust Mines. These are kept exactly at the back center, she carries one box of each dust mine.

Dust Functions: The Dust Mines use the basic 4 dust types.
Fire: A simple explosive, enough to take down a wall.
Water: Forms a thin icy layer in a 4 meter radius, enough to cover an entire room floor.
Earth: Turns any area made from earth or contains earthly elements(sand, metal etc) into a rough terrain.
Wind: Throws anything that walks over it 2 meters in the air, works only 5 times per mine, as these are charged mines, they contain several charges before kaboom.

History: The tools has very little history with her other than the ring flute and lock pick. The ring flute was a family heirloom that she kept with her after her parents died. The lock pick was actually made from the rusty lock pick, she melted the thing and then reformed it into the new lock pick she has. Talk about reuse and recycle.

WEAPON 2

Name: Boreas and Australis

Primary Form: Boreas is a red dagger with a large blade but its short, Australis is a green dagger that is longer but has a thin blade. The names of the daggers are engraved in the hilts of the respective daggers.

History:She stole these daggers from a rich man in Vacuo, never thought that he did send people to find the daggers, now it's her weapons

Name: Drab Sage Verdigris

Age: 17

Species and Gender: Human Female

Symbol: Her staff, Ardent Bludgeon, in front of a dying red star. The staff stands vertically, the right side obscured in a green shadow that has no source.

Occupation: Beacon student, first year.

Appearance: 6’0”. 150 lbs. Dark, glossy hair flows down to the middle of Drab's back in thick, luxurious waves. Her dark green eyes are always open wide, but clearly sharp and alert, taking in everything around her. Thick patches of freckles adorn her cheeks, but have no presence on any other part of her body. She is in perfect physical condition and it shows clearly through her lean muscle. She wears semi-tight black jeans under dark brown combat boots with black soles. The boots come up to about two inches above her ankles. Strapped most of the way up her left thigh, but still below her hip, is a brown pouch that she keeps a sniper scope in. On her left hip her sidearm rests in dagger form for easy access. Her staff, Ardent Bludgeon rests in a holder on her right shoulder. A sage green casual, button-up, shirt rests on her torso and her forearms bare black leather bracers. Around her neck is a jade necklace and a viridian scarf that trails down her breasts. She also wears her viridian scarf while in her Beacon uniform.

History:Drab was born in a small village just outside of Vale. Her mother grew vegetables in a large garden on the land her family lived on, and her father was a Huntsman. He went out, killed Grimm, and made enough lien to cover utility and mortgage payments and plenty more to save, though occasionally he drew out of this to buy a treat of meat. He had taught his wife how to defend herself with a staff, should they be attacked while he was away, and often taught things to Drab as well.

   Drab adored her father and loved to train with him, already she was looking forward to becoming a Huntress herself. Her father insisted it was a hard life, but encouraged her when he realized it was truly what she wanted to do. Between the ages of five and six, she learned many of the basics of staff use, when her father was there to teach her that is, and sometimes she could even convince her mother to spar with her a little.

   When she was seven, her father had a staff made for her, hoping it would be her future weapon, but he forbade her from using any ammo until she got older. Drab trained vigorously with her staff, practicing what she knew and learning more whenever she had the opportunity. But before her eighth birthday came, her father went out on a mission, and neither hide nor hair of him was ever seen again.

   Her mother fell into depression and grieving for a while, but knew the savings would run out soon. She expanded her garden and began selling all their excess produce. Drab didn't entirely understand what was happening at the time, but she knew she would never see her father again. Drab too, fell into depression, but she responded differently.

   Drab fell into her training harder than ever, pushing herself, hardly leaving her staff but to eat and sleep. Her mother could no longer spar with her, so Drab built a training dummy out of sticks and an eaten watermelon. She practiced every technique she knew and devised new ones.

   When she turned 10, things were less frantic and had settled back into a rhythm, though loss still bore heavily upon the minds of Drab and her mother. Drab’s mother consented to getting some ammo for Drab's weapon, as she hadn't been allowed to shoot it before. Over the next year and a half, Drab continued her staff practice in much the same way as before, but now added marksmanship into the mix. She would sometimes climb up into trees, gradually gaining skill in that as well until she could reach the highest branches, and take off the heads of Beowolves from a few miles away. She was becoming quite skilled and she heavily enjoyed her youthful life. But nothing can last forever.

   That same year, her village was attacked by a large pack of Beowolves. The close proximity to Vale proper allowed some semblance of security though. As the villagers made for the gates of the city, Huntsmen and Huntresses close to the walls heard the commotion. But the alpha was cunning and fast. It slipped around them, going through the underbrush in the thick of battle, to get to the easier prey. It jumped out, close to Drab and her mother as they skirted along the outside of the wall trying to reach the gate, and it tore out the throat of the man next to them. Drab froze for a moment, but the alpha turning its head toward them spurred her into action. She pulled her staff off of her shoulder, just in time to block an attack from the Alpha Beowolf, but the force sent her to the ground. Drab's mother screamed as the Alpha advanced, but Drab was already in action. She transformed her weapon to it’s sniper form and just as the Beowolf Alpha was about to pounce… it found itself missing its right leg. The Alpha collapsed on the ground with a howl of pain and Drab jumped to her feet. She began beating the poor defenseless Grimm’s head in with powerful swings from her quarterstaff. One of the huntsmen who came out to help the villagers to safety witnessed Drab's already apparent skill and decided to lend a helping hand to developing her skills… after dragging her off of the already long dead carcass and escorting her and her mother into Vale.

   Times were harder than ever, but Drab's mother was able to find a job waiting tables at a local restaurant. Drab herself trained with the Huntsman every day, sometimes sparring with her staff, sometimes learning hand to hand skills in case she was ever disarmed. Things went on like that for the next year and a half, the two of them barely getting by, until Drab turned 13 and enrolled at Signal Academy.

   Drab struggled in her studies, save combat class, upon first arriving at Signal, but quickly caught on and began making “A”s, always striving to be the best in her class. The one class that she didn't care about was weapon design, she already had a weapon. The one her father had gotten her. It would serve her far better than anything else. She didn't need a new weapon. Nevertheless, she did decide upon a dagger/long pistol last minute and made that. It was nothing special, but it was functional. She passed Weapon Design with a low "C". As she faced more human opponents and listened to the instructors, she refined her skills and mastered the staff. She also became quite a skilled marksman, almost always hitting her mark with her sniper rifle. Four years of hard work later, Dreb has sent in her application to Beacon and is looking forward to her future there.

Personality: Aggressive and dominant. If Drab can't be the alpha of a group, you can damn well bet she’s the enforcer. And the competition. She always pushes to be in charge, but is mature enough to stop before things go too far and she knows how to put others in their places. She struggles with feelings of loneliness and abandonment due to the early loss of her father, but she hopes that somehow he sees what she is doing and is proud. She is cunning, intelligent, and agile. She was always competing for top position in her classes at Signal, save weapon design which she barely passed, mostly due to a lack of trying, and mathematics. She especially excelled in Grimm studies and combat training, often knocking her opponents off of their feet or taking them down with a few well aimed shots from Ardent Bludgeon before they could reach her.

Aura and Semblance: Drab’s aura is olive green. Her semblance is called Red Star. Red Star turns Drab's aura Red, and then gives itself a flame like look. Red Star allows Drab to create something that resembles fire balls, but are actually physical and can attach things to itself. These fire balls can spin a lot a velocity of 16mph, enough to tear skin. But that's not its main use, these fire balls can actually grab sparks and then make them hotter, so if Drab happens to be near something that can endure the 16mph velocity spin, she can use it to make sparks. If the fireball grabs anything else, like lets say water, then it would just explode in a meter radius. These fireballs can explode upon Drab's command. If the fireballs gathered sparks, they explode in a much larger radius, 3 meters. The amount of sparks gathered does not affect the radius. A fireball without sparks explode at a 2 meter radius. She can only make one fireball at a time though. Each fireball costs 5% of her aura.

Combat Behavior: Drab almost invariably opens her fights by switching Ardent Bludgeon to sniper form and trying to take her opponent out before he can reach her. In single combat, she switches Ardent Bludgeon back to its staff form when her opponent gets too close and she attempts to find an opening in her opponent’s defences, often striking low at the knee or hip, then immediately striking for the head, sternum, or clavicle. If she feels threatened by a direct confrontation with her opponent, she’ll use her staff more as a polearm, punishing any attempt to get closer to her as she observes and tries to find even the slightest weakness in her opponent’s stance or style. In a group, she attempts to move away from the fight and provide support with her sniper rifle. She finds cover, preferably somewhere high up, but behind a sizeable boulder or piece of rubble if something better is unavailable. Often she utilizes her skill in climbing trees here. If things get too rough, she taunts and insults, to draw attention away from her allies. She is especially weak to large swords, especially longer than a traditional longsword. Swords like this tend to be effective against polearms, so her strategy of backing up when she needs to reassess her opponents is comprised. She has the same problem against larger polearms. In this situation, she attempts to use the short end of her staff (think european staff and polearm usage) and press her opponent as hard as she can. She also struggles a little with her semblance due to focusing more so on her actual combat skills and not having used it until she went to Signal. This results in having to take a short time to concentrate before activating it, but she's been working at it lately and it only takes her a second now. Though Drab is capable of taking a few strong hits, her combat style relies more on her dodging and getting out of the way: agility over actual toughness.

WEAPON

Name: Ardent Bludgeon

Primary Form: Steel quarterstaff. A trigger is popped out almost halfway down the staff, visible, but useless until changed to its other form. The staff is very heavy due to being made of steel and having insulation along the whole thing so Drab doesn't burn herself when she fires it in its other form. A strange looking bar rests along the top, almost halfway down the staff, opposite side of the trigger.

Ardent Bludgeon’s transformation is simple. All Drab has to do is bend the end upwards. Two pieces of metal are attached to the end piece and are hidden along the staff, these cause the piece that Drab bends to come to rest against the staff at a ninety degree angle and lock into place. This forms a stock. When that is locked into place, two other mechanisms activate along the staff. One causes a small piece of metal to pop up along the top of the staff. The other causes a bit to pop upward off the end, opening the barrel and allowing it to fire. Together these two pieces form the sight. Now, to fire, all Drab has to do is pull the trigger.

Secondary Form: A sniper rifle. Magazines can be inserted into/ejected from the bottom of the stock. 9 shots per magazine. The sniper rifle fires at 1,300m/s and has an effective range of 2 miles. The bar on top of the barrel allows for a scope to be attached. Drab keeps the scope in a pouch on her left side. The scope has a variable zoom. 10x to 20x magnification.

History:Drab received it from her father when she was seven years old, just before he died. She's been practicing with it ever since and she’s an expert with the staff. She also used it to kill an Alpha Beowolf, just before she gave it a name. She only wants to use it to make her father proud.

WEAPON

Name: Thorn

Primary Form: Dagger. Uninspired, but large. About ⅞ the length of Drab's arm.

One quillion of the crossguard tilts forward 90 degrees to become parallel to the blade. The blade itself expands forming a barrel. The grip pops backward slightly, then comes down next to the quillion that hasn't moved. A trigger pops out of the new space between the grip and the quillion. The magazine can be inserted into and ejected from the pommel.

Secondary Form: Long pistol. Magazine of ten.

History: A weapon Drab had to make at Signal. She isn't particularly skilled with it, but has had some practice. She keeps it in case she needs a sidearm.
