Teddy thought for a brief moment that he could get away from being the butt of Calen's jokes for a few minutes. If he was not so damn tired, he might have had something to say about it. "It might be possible to set up a basic alarm system on the entrances to one of the buildings. Just in case we all end up asleep at some point." Teddy mentioned, not wanting to bring up Setsuna's state directly.

Teddy got somewhat comfortable resting against his pack. He kept thinking of how much hell Mac's going to throw at him once he gets back to town. He was supposed to be at work right now, not in the middle of some god-forsaken forest waiting to be rescued.

Theodore wasted little time in taking the chip and putting it in his scroll. A visual can help lead to a plan, and a plan helps stop the panicking. "Well...I'll take a look at it. I want to be cautious, since there was mention of grimm activity." he said, rapidly looking through the maps and photographs that were now on his scroll. "I'll...I'll see what I can do."

Justice promptly ignored Calen's remarks as they moved closer to the city. There may be a chance that he stops talking if he realizes that nobody is listening. Justice continued walking toward the large wall as he saw the gun poke out of one of the holes. It was not the first time he was shot today, so he could not muster more than a quiet indignation at the prospect. "We are the security detail for Ms. Unis. We would like permission to enter the city to confirm details of the performance and look for Ms. Gaud." he said, keeping his violin resting on his shoulder.

He took the smallest of steps he could manage while trying not to be noticed and attempted to position himself in between Camelia and the door. The list of outcomes played out in his head, and he figured proper positioning would be necessary if things were to become violent again.

Justice ran a hand through his hair. Automatons were not exactly his expertise. His semblance is close to useless when it comes to fighting non-living targets. "While normally I would advise against reckless behavior, it may actually be in our favor to be reckless in this pursuit. We do not have the luxury of time. Fanning out would allow us to cover more ground, but put each individual member at greater risk. Rewriting their parameters would be preferred if possible, but I doubt it could be accomplished with certainty by the time of arrival." Justice said, his hand making one long stroke from the side of his temple down to his chin as his ideas flowed freely.

Teddy could not even really get annoyed with Calen at this point. The mental exhaustion made sure of that. "I can't figure out if we even can repair it at this point. Some of the circuits are fried and the thing doesn't have power, but it's worth trying to jury-rig something." he said, putting his weight against his pack. Teddy was not a big fan of seafood normally, and this stuff looked less appetizing than usual. It brought him little comfort to eat the clams, but he was not about to complain about having some food in his system.

Teddy waited somewhat patiently as the fish finished cooking. It seemed that they would at least be better than the clams. Teddy gave a few glances over to Anna. It seemed to him that they had a somewhat nonexistent relationship. She never really acknowledged him, and it was obvious that she did not care to talk to him. He was hoping to have at least one empathetic teammate, but it seems that, as usual, he drew the short straw.

The fish did have a bit of flavor, and Teddy would have liked it more if he had not cut his lip with the throwing knife almost as soon as he began eating. Teddy just pressed his ears down and waited for another round from Calen.

It was fortunate that the beowolves cleared out when they did. Michael walked back to the group with a bit of an awkward limp. Nothing was broken, but his boot was snagged in his armor. He walked over and sat near the rest of the group. "I guess that was only moderately embarrassing." he said, smacking his leg in an attempt to get his boot unstuck

Things were just as Justice had feared. It was obvious to him that Gaud was loose in the forest, probably slaughtering everything between the cities. While her combative abilities are well developed, her recklessness could cause her to be caught off-guard. He began playing once more, the song that he had played previously. He purposefully stood far from his two charges as possible. If Gaud was in the emotional state he thought she was in, things had the possibility of getting somewhat explosive.

It was nice to be back at home for Justice. There was the feeling of efficiency that got him in the mindset to get great things done. That kind of inspiration is hard to come by. He sipped his thermos of tea as he got up from his seat and joined this team of misfits. He was already regretting the decision to leave everything to chance. These delinquents would surely make him look bad.

Looking out into the trees, Justice's face took a stoic tone as he attempted to figure out some sort of strategy or motivation behind the placement of the machines. "A brief question. Are we to assume that we can guard the transport as it arrives in case of any missed devices?" he asked, turning a brief glance to the woman.

Teddy had started to grow impatient with the elder faunus's lessons as they went on in the forest around him. It was hard to relax in the beautiful grove knowing that any second could lead to a new lesson.

The air was sour with melancholy as Teddy was reminded of his father. Teddy could not help but miss him, even after the years went by. Teddy kept a mostly neutral expression, internalizing most of his sorrow. "He was a good man. From what I've heard, and excellent huntsman as well. He taught me so many things." he said, shaking his head to keep himself from trailing off again.

Teddy kept his hands behind him, playing with the sleeves of his jacket as they went. "A huntsman's greatest strength? I...I guess it would have to be adapting. Changing strategies, avoiding enemy strengths, exploiting enemy weaknesses. That's how huntsmen stay alive."

There was a point during the exchange where Justice realized that his life was about to get quite a bit stranger. Having people with the full intention to kill you for perfectly valid reasons was endearing to the boy, as it made his contributions seem to matter that much more. There was not much in the way of time to dwell on that feeling, however. Justice felt a sudden need to get some fresh air, sparked by the bar suddenly erupting into an ocean of fire.

Justice quickly left his seat, his cigarette falling to the ground. There seemed to be little need to put it out at the moment. With his walking stick in hand, he headed for the back of the bar. Conventional wisdom said that there would be a back exit, and he was not going to try and get over the swarm of people heading for the front door.

It took an exceedingly long amount of time, but Teddy had a vague idea of how the antenna functioned. It was going to be a long and arduous process just to figure out if he can fix it, much less actually doing so. With a small groan of discontent, Teddy walked over to the building where they made camp and started going through the supplies he still had with him. The only good thing to come out of the long trek is that Teddy still had almost all of his supplies on him. In this scenario, that means more things with which it might be possible to jury rig a distress signal using the antenna and their scrolls.

Unfortunately, that was most of what he was able to do until the sun went down. The lack of rest was getting to him as he near constantly lost focus of what he was trying to work out. Any attempt to get things set up would have to wait until morning.

Teddy just kept his head down, walking back to the center of town. Calen actually managed to get something accomplished today, and it was more than likely that he would relish the opportunity to rub it in their faces. Teddy sat next to the fire with a heavy breath, knowing that his food was going to come with another round of mockery from his teammate.

I think throwing Justice in there would be interesting.

It had already been a stressful time. Between his normal busy schedule and trying to fit in with his new teammates, Teddy had enough on his plate to deal with. So, it only makes sense that as much would go wrong as possible. Day 7 of what was supposed to be a maximum 3 day mission. Their supplies were horrendously low, even with Teddy's tendency to overpack. The weight that Teddy carried combined with the scientific equipment caused him to have to dip into his aura reserves to fix the damage caused by overexerting himself. By the time they found the abandoned city, Teddy was mentally and physically exhausted.

Teddy set to work quickly in an attempt to get the antenna functional enough to broadcast a distress signal. Solitary work would be helpful for him. The last few days of trying to fit in with the team had been uncomfortable at best. It did not help that the long, boring trek removed most of any small talk topics that any of them could think of. By the end of it, Teddy could not even muster up the energy to be annoyed at Calen's terrible jokes.

Progress was slow. It was obvious to Teddy that there was no way he was going to get this thing working without some sleep. He could not even figure out what parts he needed to be able to start trying to repair it. Laying on the ground with his head on his pack, he stared blankly at the ceiling trying to get his brain working long enough to figure out what to do next.

Thankfully for the travelling students, Justice had enough time to clear his head before Calen decided to speak up once more. While he did appreciate the gesture from Camelia, it would have been pointless to try and explain the intricacies of psychological field study to one who does not have a base knowledge of the art. "Alas, we did not. Rather, we listened to a bit of music. I think it would be fairly useful for the trip ahead. Wouldn't you agree?" Justice said. He generally hoped for a few outcomes to go in his favor.

Playing music would hopefully draw out Gaud. Being ambushed would end well for any of them, and Justice was going to give himself an aneurysm if he kept his semblance up much longer. Also, a small signal to the town of Vona could serve as a way to not be shot. Considering the temperament of this area, it would be equally likely that it would bring more fire upon them. Justice retrieved his violin, stowing his walking stick away for the time being.

Despite Camelia's attempts, Justice was in no less of a foul mood. Justice stared daggers into Calen as soon as he opened his mouth. It was not enough that he had kept from being sated in his curiosity, but now he does not even have the courtesy to shut his damn mouth for five minutes. "It is times such as these that truly test a man's patience...Miss Cami, I will get your friend back. Although, I will advise against returning to Vona for the time being. Considering the conditions, we may have to delay your performance for safety concerns." Justice said, the contempt in his voice showing that he would not be easily swayed in this matter.

He had had enough of this area, the people in it, and the lack of reason. Trying to get this girl through safely was similar to teaching apes poetry, it would be a lot simpler if anyone had higher functioning brains. Alas, he had to deal with a girl who wouldn't know a difficult day if she were hit by a bus, a primitive woman whose solution for everything from boredom to personal safety involves assault or attempted manslaughter, two children who are so blinded by the possibility of being a hero they are stumbling over each other to make heroic sacrifices, another child who thinks a smart mouth can make up for a lack of forward thinking, two leaders with their heads firmly up their own asses, and no tea left in his damn thermos.

Justice took a deep breath and started walking in the direction of Navo. This day was going to be longer still.
