Title: Renovations [Team CASA] [Closed]
Post by: Moth on May 16, 2018, 10:31:18 PM
The evening after initiation was harsh. After stuffing themselves in the medical wing, team Casanova had returned to their newly-assigned dorm room, and absolutely collapsed - even Prism had slept through the night without interruption, a rare occurrence she was grateful for for her first night with her new roommates. But now it was a free day, the sun was shining the birds were singing - and the dorm room appeared the same as beforehand, the only signs of habitation signaled with slightly rumpled beds and a few scattered suitcases.

That was something Prism couldn't stand for.

So here she was, focusing on unpacking and decorating her quarter of the dorm room. She'd claimed a bed right next to the window for easy entry-and-exit, and Hawk's Eye already rested on a shelf above her bed - but there were still posters to hang, clothes to put away, and other decorations to put up to make the room feel a bit more homely. She'd started with her clothes, claiming one half of the closet, tucking away heels and halter tops as she hummed to herself in the empty room.

"Anywhere but in the middle of the room." A cheerful voice chimed in from outside the room and Jocelyn popped in via the open window, Steam Flower on her back. "Sorry for the unorthodox entry, I was just practicing my skills outside and wondered if I could get in another way." Intrigued by the appliances, she took a closer look. "Hey, where's Coco by the way?" she asked, setting her jump pack on her bed - the other one next to the window.

"Over heeere!" came a call from out in the hall. It'd be a good half a minute before the boy would make his appearance, carrying two rather large boxes on either shoulder. There was a big ole smile on his face - he was moving in with a bunch of cute girls. How could he not be ecstatic?

Coconut dropped the boxes off next to the bed on the left side of the room, wiping his brow after he did. Sure, he didn't have much with him, but most of what he had was pretty darn heavy. Weights, protein, art supplies (His mother insisted he bring those along. He didn't think he was going to use them at all, really.), a copious amount of hair accessories and assorted litera- he'd probably have to finish unpacking when the room is a bit emptier. For now, he turned to look at the rest of his team.

"Whoa, Amane, you brought all that?" He asked, genuinely amazed. A toaster and minifridge in the room seemed pretty great, if a bit lavish for his own tastes. He could dig it, though.

Prism gives a smile to Amane as she enters the room, looking on curiously as she pulls out the minifridge and toaster oven. Leave it to Amane to be that prepared - they're not going to need to worry about missing breakfast with all that in the dorm room in the morning at least. "Stick the minifridge under whatever desk you end up claiming, that'll probably save the most space... as for the toaster oven, on the side of the windowsill maybe? Don't obstruct it though, because-" she's conveniently interrupted as Jocelyn comes through the window.

"...I plan on using it to come in and out, just like that! Thanks for the example, Jocelyn." She nods towards the other girl, before turning back to Amane. "So yeah, desk or next to the window maybe."

She returns to her own unpacking then, finishing shuttling her clothes into the closet, before she begins to dig into the large carry-on suitcase - the first thing that comes out is a stand, followed by... what looks like a piece of a mannequin? At the end of her bed, she begins to assemble what looks like one of the models that dresses are designed on. Coconut entry warrants a wave and a smile as well, before returning to her work.

"Ooh, fancy new tech." Jocelyn marvels, stepping closer for a better look. "Zachary...Techsystems? Did you work with them, Amane?" Her smile only widens as Amane pulls out a picture of their headmaster, of all things. Stifling a snort of laughter at her salute, she crossed over to her bed and lay down, only to jump back up as her scroll rings.

"My stuff's here! Gimme a sec..." Throwing the door open, a pink-red blur with a humanoid shape could be seen stacking the last of a large stack of boxes outside, before vanishing with nary a trace. Jocelyn then proceeded to shove the entire stack into the room, spilling a few onto the floor. Opening up one of the upright boxes, she yanked out a canvas painting of a quaint wooden house in a sun-lit clearing before looking around for something to hook it onto.

"Sorry for the mess - I promise I'll clear it shortly." she apologised. "Anyone got a nail or something I can use?" indicating the painting in her hand with a wave and rummaging through another box.

Prism looks on curiously as Amane pulls a sleek laptop, alongside... military grade earpieces. Jesus, Amane's either rich, has connections, or both. "Smart move, those'll definitely be handy during missions - especially if Jocelyn or I are out of earshot." The picture of the school's headmaster gets a confused stare, alongside Amane's salute - and Prism makes a mental note to turn it around when Amane's not in the room. I think he's staring into my soul. She stares at the portrait a moment longer, before turning to address Amane. "It's fine if you wanna store valuables in here, but do me a favor and stick a lock-and-key on it, or something? Don't want people who wander in to randomly help themselves to your cash."

As Jocelyn's packages get delivered via... humanoid blur, Prism manages to finish setting up the model stand, and gets to work assembling the body. "I don't have nails, but I do have like, a couple of those adhesive wall hooks. Those might be better to use so we don't get yelled at for damaging the wall." She digs through a pocket on the side of the suitcase, before tugging out a small package and tossing them onto the bed for optional use.

"Oh, that's who that was! He seemed a bit scary... D'you happen to know his workout routine?" Coconut asked as he began unpacking himself. He set the weights and protein powder aside for now, carrying the lot of his art equipment to one of the desks along with the box containing his accessories. He then began the process of arranging all of it, the most orderly the team would ever see the boy be - hair pins on one side, various crowns and tiaras on the other, an entire rack of ribbons in colors ranging from bright pink to black... There was a lot of shit there.

He glanced towards the earpiece, his mouth agape at the mention of [2000$] just laying in a box like that. How loaded was Amane? Coconut couldn't even fathom having that much spending money - not that he would have anything to spend it on.

"Perfect. Thanks, Prism!" Opening the bag of adhesive hooks, Jocelyn stuck one onto the wall over her bed and hung the painting on it. Hopefully it wouldn't fall on her head when she was sleeping. "...I'm surprised the guy's still living. Brain surgery is a highly risky operation to undertake, on par with heart surgery." she commented idly, rummaging through another box.

Lightly placing the box she held in her hands on her desk, she withdrew from its interior several books on medicine and recovery, anatomy of humans and effects of Dust. In her other hand she held a book rack, which she arranged the books on neatly and setting to one side. Next out of the box was...another box, only wrapped in so much bubble wrap it could act as a beach ball. After giving the bubbles one almighty squeeze to relieve stress, Jocelyn plucked her medical equipment out and gingerly placed it on the table as well. "There's a lot to this and it's kinda more than I can afford, so I would much appreciate it if this remained untouched for...well...ever." Out came more test tubes and racks, more bottles of liquids and solids, until her desk looked more like a chemistry experiment.

"Dutifully noted, won't touch except in case of somethings-about-to-fall-on-it emergency." Prism calls, finally finishing assembling the dress model. Out of her boxes comes a worn sewing machine that's promptly plunked onto her desk, and she extracts what appears to be a cooler and a sewing kit next, which are slid under the bed.  Checking her boxes one last time, she drags out what appear to be several reams of fabric and other larger sewing supplies and stows them in the closet. The last thing she extracts is a worn slingshot, which has two semi-ruffled feathers in red and yellow attached to one side of it.

That's... kinda it, for all her stuff.

Right.

Stepping up onto the bed, she goes to place it next to Hawk's Eye on the shelf overhead. "I already dropped off all my ammo and other supplies at my locker, but I prefer to keep Hawk's Eye nearby if y'all don't mind. Convenience reasons, mostly - but she isn't loaded, so no worries about her randomly going off if the shelf falls off the wall, or something." Prism carefully explains, before turning to address the rest of the room. "Also, like - I work out of a sewing shop down in Vale, and usually do custom alterations or other stuff for a living, so sorry for any sewing supplies you see lying around. That's all mine, and you have the right to just plonk it on my bed and leave for me to clean up, unless it has a 'do-not-touch' sign."

Carefully kicking one of her own empty boxes off the bed and onto the ground, she thinks for a moment, before turning to Coco. "Want some help unpacking? Didn't really have much stuff."

"Whoa... That's badass." Coconut uttered in reference to Amane's response. He took a mental note to try and talk to that guy later - he seemed pretty intense.

He turned back to resume organizing his accessories, setting a series of crowns atop of a mannequin head he used as a stand for such things - each crown was just slightly smaller than the last, begging the question of how he even kept them atop of his head.

"Oh, sure, Prism. I could us- Nope, nah, I-I'm good." the boy answered his leader's question before catching himself - that stuff was better not seen by anyone, especially not his female teammates. Besides, he didn't really have much to unpack anyway - this was most of it.

Prism snorts, hoping her bed to stand near Coco's, watching as he piles tiaras onto a mannequin. God, he has more hair accessories than most women do - note to self to borrow them sometime. "Hey, it's no problem! We're a team, we're supposed to give each other a hand." She offers the boy a charming smile, before reaching for one of the boxes he brought in with him, and plops it down the bed, opening up the lid.

Reaching inside, Prism glances down at what she's unpacking for Coconut. Looks like books, mostly. She didn't peg him for the academic type, but you never know. She digs through them for a second, before the cover of one of the top catches her eye-

That's definitely a topless catgirl.

Cute Kitties Vol. 3: Playtime with the Neighbor Boys!

...he's a teenage boy. Prism isn't going to judge- yet, at least.

She doesn't look up from the box yet, the only sign betraying what she's found is the light blush on her face. Without turning around, she calls out to the rest of her teammates. "So, have you guys gotten your schedules yet? We should see what classes we have together, it'll be useful for notes and homework and stuff."

Looking up from yet another of her boxes, Jocelyn recited from memory, "We should have most of the basic lessons together, like Aura Techniques and Grimm Studies, but I also take additional medical training in my free time, as well as once-a-week field scenarios and hands-on experience. So if I disappear for hours on end I'll probably be out on a battlefield somewhere."

Tossing several pillows, pillowcases and a duvet cover on her bed, she turns to ask Prism a question but notices the color on her face. "You feeling unwell, Prism?"

"N-No, really it's-" The boy turns around just in time to see the team's leader digging through one of his boxes - no, she was digging through the box. The one containing all of his personal research material. Fuck.

Quietly, Coconut wanders over back to the bed and extends his hands, an awkward grin on his face. "I-I think I can unpack that one myself, later," Coco suggested before his eyes briefly lit up, the grin growing wider, "Unless you want to unpack it. Like, really want to."

"I'm f-fine Jocelyn, no worries." Her voice is still perfectly calm, beyond the light waver in it - Prism's remarkably good at keeping it together, apparently. The blush only grows as Amane glances into the box, but Prism gives a silent sigh of relief as she doesn't say anything and simply moves on. This can probably be played off easily enough, as long as she just lets Coconut take it, and pack it away.

That way, she can simply forget the fact she's buried herself elbow-deep in her teammate's erotica. Which, as Prism shifts books to the side with the pretense of digging, appears to mostly, well. Faunus-related. He totally has a faunus fetish. Great.

Prism doesn't know what's worse. The fact this is her roommate now, or the fact that well, by the looks of things. They had the same taste in women.

Prism looks up as Coco approaches, fixing him with an intense stare as he awkwardly tries to take the box away - but then, to her growing horror, suggests she help unpack it with a lecherous smile on his face. There's a shift in her expression at his suggestion, something that spells determination behind her eyes - and rises to her full height, a magazine clutched in her hands, and simply, damningly, raises an eyebrow as the pages of a faunus-girls calendar drop to some random month.

"Are you sure? Your face was kinda red. Are you sure it's not a fever--" Jocelyn began to get slightly concerned, turning to look at the hummingbird faunus - and getting a perfect view of the calendar she was holding up for everyone to see. Oddly enough, it also was portraying a hummingbird faunus. Who was naked as her name day.

Jocelyn was pretty sure every single drop of blood in her body rushed straight to her head.

"Wh-wha-what-" Her voice failed her, so she resorted to pointing at the picture, before looking at the boxes it came from. Then looked at who was standing next to the boxes. The one with a shit-eating grin plastered on his face.

...That explained everything.

"A-ah, w-well, y'see, the thing about that is that... I was... Hm..." Coconut mumbled, trying to come up with an excuse. There was an excuse out there somewhere that would make this situation completely okay and not at all awkward.

"Those... Are... A house-warming gift." he finally got out, finger-guns and all. What was the implication behind these words? Who knows. Coconut certainly didn't. He then peered towards Amane. "Oh, yeah, TVwould be great! We could definitely, uhhh. Use a TV."

In that moment, he hoped for two things - one, that the subject would be dropped before he got punched in the balls, and two... That Prism wouldn't keep digging and also find the DVDs which would make his attempt to change the subject seem that much worse.

"...so for a housewarming- dorm-warming- whatever gift, for all of your female roommates, one of who is a faunus themselves, you thought it'd be appropriate to bring in a calendar of very naked faunus women?" Prism's voice is absolutely disbelieving, raising the calendar a little higher and shaking it slightly in emphasis. She glances down, realizing the picture it's dropped open to- "You don't suppose you could bother to be a bit more subtle?"

She folds up the calender, tucking it under her arm, before going to repack the box. "You hide them whereever you do, don't tell us the location. If I see any of your material left around, well- you're going to have a hell of a time getting it back, that's all I'm going to say. " She finishes folding up the lid, before handing back to Coconut, spinning around to face Amane.

"And I hate to say it, but I'm going to give a no on the TV, we're like," Prism shrugs, gesturing to the room around them. "Kinda running out of room, though if you can-wall mount it above your desk, well. Go ahead."

Profusely thanking Amane in her head for the change of topic, the disease brought up memories of her lessons to the front of her mind. "As far as humanity knows, there is no cure for fucosidosis, only temporary treatments. Theories have been brought up about bone marrow transplants producing non-affected cells to counteract the mutation, but there is not enough evidence to prove this true. Perhaps a genetically modified enzyme to replace the one currently being affected by the disease?" Jocelyn suggested, pulling a thick book down from her rack and flipping through the pages.

"Well, with both of us just pulling a magic trick and vanishing often, might be good to identify those dates in advance. Though sometimes the battlefields I visit to provide my support can be more...hectic, so it's hard to determine how long I'm away for." Absentmindedly dropping the book on her desk, she assumed a pondering look. "...Sorry if I lost any of you during that, it's just...sciencey-stuff."

Well, that had failed as much as it possibly could have. Prism was clearly upset with him, and her ultimatum was clear. Even so, a short little gasped escaped past Coconut's lips. She... Looked pretty good when she was flustered, but even better when she was angry.

"Y-yes, M'am," the boy finally stammered out, grabbing the box from the bed and shoving it under it for the time being. At that point, he tried to concentrate on the conversation around him to little avail. All of it just went over his head - something about a disease, something about trasnplats, something about enza- enzi- enzo- something about something. Coco scratched the back of his head, not sure if it would be wise to butt in. What was his schedule, anyway?

Prism nods in satisfaction as the box is shoved out-of-view, satisfied she's threatened Coconut enough that she hopefully won't be dealing with... all of that anytime soon. Still, it's good to show an example. Moving over to her sewing supplies, she digs through the small kit, looking for pins.

Tilting her head in the direction of the conversation, she listens with mild interest to the discussion surrounding... fucosidosis? Thank fuck she'd aced her bio classes, otherwise she'd have no idea what they were talking about. "You're fine Jocelyn, basic biology isn't too hard to piece it together, though I'm afraid I can't join in the discussion, based purely on lack of information. Let's make a team calendar or something as well - if you two are out in the field half the time, coordinating team exercises and missions are gonna be a pain. I'll absolutely respect your individual missions, but still understand that I'm holding you accountable for keeping up with your hunter-and-huntress duties as well - I'm not about to let Casanova fall behind."

There's the pins!

Pausing for a moment, she notices Coconut's silence. "...check your class email for your schedule Coco, and then forward it to all of us."

Jocelyn gulped silently. Despite her size--or lack thereof--Prism still cut an intimidating leader figure when she was giving orders. "Yes ma'am." she replied, taking out her own scroll--the modern, fold-away screen version (where did Amane get her tech?)--and looking through it for her own timetable. "Let's hope we have some time that doesn't clash with each other's schedules. If not, I'll try and shift it so the missions I undertake don't intrude on our free time."
Title: Re: Renovations [Team CASA] [Closed]

"Oh! Right!" The boy called out and pulled out his scroll. Even he could find the email, after all. He opened it, looking through it himself for a moment - he hadn't really considered any additional classes. Cream wasn't one to spend much time studying to begin with.

"I don't think my schedule should be a problem to work around!" Coconut commented as he tried to find the option to forward the schedule. Man, why couldn't they just give out physical copies of these things? Come to think of, maybe they did. That didn't change the fact Coco didn't have one, though.
Title: Re: Renovations [Team CASA] [Closed]

"I trust you to Amane, but it'd still be useful if you forwarded it - I don't want to schedule team practice when you're not around. You don't need to go into detail, just let us know when you'll be absent." Prism says, extracting the pin from the sewing kit. Shoving the calendar still under one arm into the box, she hopes quietly to herself nobody mentions anything, if they noticed at all. Standing back up, she moves over to the closet to pull out what appears to be a piece of designing paper, before pinning down the individual corners.

"I plan on making digital calendar with all our schedules in it for easy use at some point, and I can probably finagle it to update automatically whenever you guys add to your plans, though at some point I'd like to get a physical calendar just for the sake of having a visual to look at." She explains, nodding in satisfaction as to the paper's flatness.

"A physical calendar sounds good!" Coco said as he continued to fiddle with his scroll. He then looked up and tilted his head at Amane. "What's a... 'Gejgej'? And, man, I would've thought Beacon at least would be a nice enough place not to be infested with roaches and whatnot."

"I'm not an expert in general biology, but isn't that another bug or something?" Jocelyn queries, extracting a comically large duvet from a tiny box and eventually falling over onto her bed from the physical exertion. "Also...not to kick a dead horse but where's that lewd calendar so we can burn it at the earliest opportunity." She glares at Coco with the clear message of "do that again and no healing for you for the next foreseeable mission".

Prism silently curses to herself at the mention of the calendar, giving a inaudible sigh. "No worries Jocelyn, I already confiscated it." Prism says, not looking up from the paper as she double-checks for invisible wrinkles."Trust me, I'll be disposing of it at the earliest known convenience."

Prism glances up at the mention of the bug, her brow crinkling at the cockroach in Amane's fingertips. "Aw, gross. Let's hope it's just a one-time bug, I don't want to have to go buy roach traps or anything. Amane, can you just flick it out the window or something?"

You could almost physically see the goosebumps run along Coconut's form as he shivered and reeled back from the picture. "Oh, lord, gross, get that away!" he called out at the sight of the centipedes. Cockroaches were fine. Most bugs were fine. Spiders were iffy. Centipedes, however... Too many fucking legs.

Upon the suggestion that Prism might eat a bug, he gets mixed emotions. He's mostly disturbed. But only mostly. He turned to look at Amane, who he now saw completely differently now that he knew she had pet centipedes. "...wha?"
