CHARACTER

Name: Fionn Macgorm.

Age: 21 as of current year, born on the fifth of Machlud.

Species and Gender: Fionn is a human male.

Symbol: Fionn carries around an old coin of unknown origin on a chain around his wrist. The coin features a cigar on one side and the bust of an unrecognised woman. An engraving on the coin suggests its worth to be 25. He himself assumes it's probably just some sort of token from a slot machine.

Occupation: Mercenary, Musician, Mob-Lackie, Fourth Year Beacon Student.

Appearance:
Standing at 6'2 Fionn is a man of above average height and above average appearance. Facially he has high cheekbones, a striking nose, deep blue eyes, and a strong jawline. His chin is sharp and pronounced and beneath his eyes are dark circles that speak of many a sleepless night. His skin is a pale white and his hair is a dark auburn in an unkempt style. The man has long limbs, a lithe but muscled physique, a v-shaped torso, and looks like a breeze could knock him over.

Clothing-wise Fionn tends to err towards long dramatic coats, jackets, and capes with mixes of blue and black colouration; this is due to the fact that he only owns one coat and it matches that description. Under this he wears exclusively white dress shirts, no tees. His pants range from "blue jeans" to "black jeans" with the very rare "grey pants" thrown in. For shoes he has multiple pairs of shined up combat boots and dress shoes, all black.

At all times he is equipped with his blade which he keeps attached to his back through two magnets inserted into his coat, his pistol which he stores in a holster at the hip, and a navy blue satchel he slings over his left shoulder.

In combat Fionn wears his signature black wool long-coat with blue inline and stitching. The coat once belonged to his Father and, after falling into his possession, was reinforced with unnoticeable duct tape on the inside. Why duct tape you ask? Because he could not afford anything else and did not ever truly see anyone being capable of piercing his coat. Under this he wears his normal casual clothes.

History:

"Son, you see that there on the wall? That's the MacGorm's history: one day I'll see you carry that blade."

Fionn was born to Mary and John MacGorm, a couple who lived in squalor but tried their hardest. It was their actions and attempt to give him the best life they could that truly shaped him into the man he is today. Their stories and times spent together forever echoing in his mind.

John MacGorm had been the first in a long family line of Huntsmen to not take up the role, having suffered from a severe leg injury at fifteen years old. As his own Father had passed away several years prior, leaving his blade and legacy to his son, he was devastated. The man's pride and motivations had been all but shattered for years until he met her, the woman of his dreams.

Standing lopsided under the dim lights of a diner outside of a shipyard he was dragging down deep on a smoke. He was seventeen now and a dishwasher at Murphy's, a junkyard sort of place that barely passed health inspection. The blow to his pride and injury had lost him not only money in medical fees but all that had been invested into his schooling. What little remained of his parents savings was spent on paying off the mortgage of their now cold home.

She ran into the alleyway and instantly took him with her beauty. She had long curly ginger hair and freckles, pale skin, and cutting blue eyes. Her height was quite short and she seemed to be scared of something or another. The man, gazing upon her, noticed bruises upon her body and a poorly affixed hat twitching upon her head.

Another man stepped into the alley, his demeanour angry and cruel. The girl kept running until she hit a wall and could run no more, the hat falling away to tucked down feline ears. As the man grew closer to her shuddering figure John did not allow himself to be a simple bystander. Two years later and they were married, the ceremony small and unheard of. Mary had been in an abusive relationship with the alleyway man for several years as his alcoholism and anger issues had worsened. She'd wanted to be an artist, a musician, a star and he'd promised it to her but had only scarred her instead.

The two, both not exactly of the highest societal standing, moved in together after the death of John's mother. Realising that they would be unable to afford the property taxes they sold off the family home and moved into the city of Vale, holding the money away for their child's future schooling. Fionn was born when John was twenty seven and Mary was twenty five and, for the most part, the next few years of their lives were simple and as happy as they could afford. Night after night John would tell Fionn stories of his grandfathers glory as Mary sang or practised her guitar.

And then she grew a cough, a terrible cough. She lost weight and grew frail just in time for the economy to tank and for John to lose his job. A month later and she was hospitalised with the initial fees for diagnosis and treatment more than being enough to steal away the money that they had kept for young Fionn's education. He was twelve years of age now and still trying to live as normal of a life as he could. Test results came back, and the price of the treatments and therapies were in the hundreds of thousands. John knew she would not survive without the surgeries and medications and did something he would regret for the rest of life.

Back in his days down near the docks John had made acquaintances, some good and some bad. He sought out once more those of his past and after a train of introductions and meetings he was introduced to a crafty man who sat in a room in the dark. The man offered to pay for the treatments, and John agreed, as he was too hobbled to find any other source of income. Even though she was becoming constantly medicated and operated upon Mary's condition worsened by the day until finally, after nearly a year, she passed away.

And so Fionn and John were alone in a cold small home with nothing but a guitar and a sword on the wall to remind them of their pasts, their failures, and their losses. The mob came for John soon enough, demanding back the money he could not possibly provide. He saw his son now, struggling to work small jobs to keep what remained of the family afloat, and began to see himself as nothing but a nuisance. The mob became more threatening until finally he received a letter with nothing but photos of his son inside, each marked with blood.

John pulled from his drawer a large pistol he'd hid away for years. With this his son would be free of any burden and could live a free life. There was a small amount of money left that'd been stowed away, just enough to coast him towards employment. In his letter the last thing written there was: "I'm Sorry."

But this was not the end. Fionn soon found himself sitting there in a dark room in a chair that had held his father months ago. The man told him the facts simply and straight: He owed them. However they were not heartless, or at least did not want to be perceived that way. They knew this kid couldn't pay a debt but that didn't make him useless. They gave him a job pushing product on the street.

The boy walked into an alleyway, the same alley he walked in everyday. One hidden from the sight of those who could not bear to witness crime. As he came to the end a group of older boys awaited him, armed with blades. They pushed him to the ground and stole everything from him before demanding he show them to the rest of his stash. That day Fionn was sat in the dark room once more.

They told him that he was becoming a liability and gave him an offer he could not refuse; perform something a little extra to pay off the cost of the shipment or face the consequences of failure.

And so Fionn stood there, filling his lungs with cigarette smoke, before an iron door to a night club. He had in his pocket the pistol of his father and in his heart the courage to preserve himself for brighter days. For some reason walking through the club it was like people were incapable of feeling his presence. When he got to the top floor he found a private room marked 516. The man inside was passed out on a drug craze.

The boy took a pillow off of a chair and emulated that which he had seen on the cinema screen, choking away the mans life. He was dead in minutes and the task had been completed. Walking out once again he was unseen. To the dark room he slunk away.

The coldness of Fionn's actions, performed at the request of another, awoke something within himself. The constant slinking beneath the shadows to bring himself the strength to push onward, even at the cost of social standing, had brought out his semblance. To walk unnoticed between the worlds of crime, poverty, and civilized society would be his fate.

From this day he had fallen into near-complete dependency upon the mob. They began to take him more seriously as a member despite the fact that luck alone had preserved him that day. They kept him on a tight leash though, never paying him anything besides a little to "buy himself somethin' nice". Over time he saved up these gifts and enrolled in Beacon, hoping to finally live up to the legacy of his forefathers.

Personality:
Fionn, for the most part, attempts to be a cool headed guy. He's simply never seen the need for massive emotional outbursts over every little thing. This, however, proves to be an issue at times as in reality he actually deals with stress quite poorly and only puts up a facade to keep himself in line. If in stressful enough a situation it is not unrealistic to expect him to break down and become unreasonably emotional.

He takes interest in music and the arts more than any other pastime, using it just as much as an excuse to socialize as he does as an excuse to ignore others. Being somewhat of an elitist about himself and his interests he will often deride and judge others unfairly in his mind, forming opinions off of the smallest things despite his cool exterior. This causes him to behave awkwardly and with hostility towards those he has decided are not worth his time. Through this he has alienated many people.

Towards true friends and those he considers worth his time he shows a surprising amount of generosity, having somewhat of a "What's mine is yours" personality. This is a result of him wishing to rebel against the greed he has seen in his employers. When in a group situation he will usually be the first to offer aid of the physical possession variety, despite his own poorness and low societal position. However unless it is for a close comrade he is generally unwilling to give actual physical aid.

Fionn is an intense homophobe due to events not detailed here.

Aura and Semblance:
"Stone cold Blues"

Fionn's semblance allows him to blend in with the scenery. His ability is used to simply make people pay attention neither to him nor his actions. With his semblance activated people's eyes seem to skip over him unless they have a vested interest in him and him in particular.

This is due to his Semblance actively pushing away both light and other forms of signalling from him. The man is not invisible but simply distorted in such a way as to draw the eye away and towards other things. A cursing glance would make an unknowing person completely miss him. Visually whilst his semblance is at play focusing on him can become physically uncomfortable as the light around him seems to bend, blur, and distort his image. A faint blue tint can be seen around himself as the light moves in irregular patterns.

Blue is the colour of Fionn's aura.

Combat Behavior:
In combat Fionn tends to enjoy studying his enemies rather than charging straight in. When "on the job" he has been know to spend weeks gathering data on a target before striking. Battles will often devolve into Fionn strafing around the opponent looking for a perfect opportunity to strike or standing back and simply awaiting the enemy to charge at him in impatience. Any tactic, as long as it is effective, is something Fionn will be willing to use.

As for his Semblance he can only truly use it in combat in the right scenarios. In an open field it would be near-useless but in a crowded arena it can give him that extra few seconds necessary to distract his opponent. As well as this by making him difficult to aim at he becomes increasingly difficult to target as ranges increase.

WEAPONS

Name: Jenny

Primary Form: A massive single edged blade stretching 5'6 in length with handle and cross guard. The cross guard is 2' across and the blade is 1'. The blade has several grooves and holes from which weight is balanced and lifted. You would be hard pressed to find a single surface on this blade not covered in dents, bashes, and grime. Fionn has even gone as far as to put a large stripe of duct tape over the middle of the blade out of sheer embarrassment at its condition. Behind the massive black painted cross guard and attached to the hockey tape covered handle is a large trigger and trigger guard. The function of the trigger is currently unknown.

History: This weapon was not crafted by Fionn himself and is, in fact, a family heirloom passed down from his great grandfather. After he kicked the bucket it made its way down the family tree as a wall hanger, useless as anything but decoration.

Name: Roulette

Spoiler: ShowHide

Primary Form: A large revolver that fires a larger calibre. He uses it more as a distraction device than anything else. A favoured tactic is loading it with custom cartridges ranging from hollow points to FMJ's.

History: A pistol belonging to Fionn's father.

Name down to appearance looks fine.

For history, really in depth on the parents there, but not a problem. Pretty dark too, but again, not bad. How did killing the guy with a pillow unlock his semblance?

Aura: So his semblance makes him a wallflower? Could work but it might have some possibility for abuse so you'll have to reign that in yourself.

Also, he has minor knowledge of aura, but using a semblance requires knowledge of aura, so kind of a contradiction there. Not unpassable, just needs an explanation.

As for combat behavior, you mentioned that the person can see him if they have a vest interest in them, but what if a person's fighting him and his team? Like 1 on 4 more. The opponent still has an interest in him but it's spread over a group. What would happen then?

For weapons, it looks like you forgot some stuff there.

While I will admit the history comes off as a little dark, it's still written well. I can't exactly say I see anything that needs to be modified. Approved (2/2).
