”You know. I’ve been thinking about this.” Sounds of Hunter tapping on his desk were picked up by the arena.
”So far, we’ve only seen… How many? Five? Five Beacon students. Looking at the bracket, I’ve noticed that the rest of the matches are also between Beacon students.” Hunter’s chair creaks as he leans forward as his eyes suddenly got a lot more serious.
”We’ve only had one non-Beacon kid so far, so where’s our kids?” With no response, Hunter can only release a melancholic sigh and properly start the next match after delaying it with his revelation.
”Whatever. Prism Skylark versus Kisha Miles. Both from Beacon Academy.” Motioning for Prim to handle the environmental spinner, Hunter could only sulk in his seat.
Also quite disheartened by the total lack of Atlas students, Prim would comment saying
”Um...yes, I’m sure that all of our bright students are too busy on important military excursions to participate in the tournament. It’s a real shame, because we would almost definitely emerge victorious.” As the crowd erupted in laughter, Prim would quickly clear her throat and continue by adding
“Anyways, here’s the environment spinner” As the spinner did it’s job, Prim would attempt to console her partner with a very awkward hug that thankfully couldn’t be seen by anyone. Despite being a constant pain in the neck, he was her pain in the neck.
A large holographic image of a lottery machine appears on all sides of the arena, with two spinners. The spinners spun so quickly, making it nearly impossible to make out the passing words. It ticked through the options slower and slower until it finally stopped on Desert and Oasis.
The floor of the arena lowered and, in its place, arose two new floors. On Prism’s side a ‘vast’ desert emerged featuring large sand dunes and, of course, plenty of sand to slow down combatants. Kisha’s side contains a sizeable pool of water surrounded by palm trees and more sand, although it is notably more flat than Prism’s side of the arena.
As the spinner finished its job and faded away, the doors on each side of the arena opened to signify the start of the match.
(A coin flip has decided that Prism will get the first post. The arena size is identical to that of the 1v1 arena in the show, however, it features scaled down biomes to fit the size. Good luck, and may the best combatant win.)
