Sandy ate more shots into him. He used the added momentum to roll away and get a grappling hook into a pillar and retreat Well. that didn't go well. He stayed atop the pillar using it for cover to rethink his strategy for a moment.

Watching Sandy finally utilise his advantage of the vertical mobility his grappling hooks provided him Setsuna could only wonder why he didn't use that earlier. Either way he currently couldn't reach Sandy bar climbing and doing so would expose him to a bombardment of - well - bombs. Nor did he want to use his semblance this early into the match. In the end he settled for picking up Discord and firing the occasional shot over Sandy's head to prevent his opponent from getting too comfortable up on his lofty perch and recombining Equilibrium.

As shots came over his head Sandy rolled out over the side of his perch hopefully remaining out of view, He swung around the corner grappling with his other hand onto another pillar hoping to come at Setsuna from the side and get around the shield intending to kick him in the head as he swung by before taking another perch.

Hopefully Sandy didn't think such an attack would work. Even with the increased speed from the grappling hook's momentum it was a simple matter of just lifting Equilibrium up over his head and bracing for impact. As soon as Setsuna felt the increased weight on his shield he heaved it skyward, hopefully throwing Sandy off balance, before raising his sword/rifle and firing the remaining two shots at the skyborne target. That was, assuming Sandy did rise into the air. Otherwise, he'd be firing at naught.

feeling his feet connect with the shield Sandy pitched forward going over the edge of it and front-flipping behind his opponent landing on his feet and turning for a backhand to what would hopefully be the back of his opponents head.

That backhand would be nothing compared to the world of hurt Setsuna was gonna put Sandy in. Thanks for choosing to fight on my level.

Taking the backhand to the head like someone had just hit him with a thin sheet of cardboard Setsuna spun on the balls of his feet, dropping his now empty rifle and putting all his momentum into swinging Equilibrium hard in a counterclockwise arc. With the power behind his giant sword, there was every chance he’d actually whack Sandy right off his feet if he didn’t have a good balance - which he shouldn’t have considering he just landed on soft sand.

Now facing his opponent Sandy saw a wide swing of a big sword coming easily and leaped into the air leaping over the sword and twisting in mid-air as he did so, pulling another bomb out as he did so using the momentum from his twist to fling the bomb almost point blank into Setsuna's face.
