Could you provide a clearer definition of "high tech" weapons. I just would like to know what the limits are for future character creations. For both myself and other new members who need to see that silver lining.

If you need technobabble, it's probably a no.

If you try to use plasma (which is incredibly stupid) it's probably a no.

If you try to use handwavium bullshit to pack the energy of a nuke into it, it's definitely a no.

If you try to use a fusion rector, it's definitely a no, due to opening up a bunch of bullshit we'd rather not deal with unless and until canon openly uses nuclear power of either variety.

However, if you describe your weapon more along the lines of effect, then say "dust" and don't try to handwave your way into bullshit with "it's sciuntifik" you're safe. Blame a member who was caught trying to do exactly that, and proceeded to ruin it for everyone else by frustrating the staff enough with his bullshit to institute this.
