Appearance:
At only 5’2” and 113lbs Yona is small. She also is a bit skinny for her size and comes across as a rather small weak girl. Her eyes are a deep hazel and her hair is raven black but with small white streaks. She wears it in a loose braid over her right shoulder or down. On her left shoulder is a scarlet macaw tattoo colored like a sunrise and under it is the name of her older sister Amor. On her hear are 2 small panda ears. Often found wearing a pair of loose black pants and either a tank top or crop top so you can see her tattoo. Her cloths are infused with dust to make her almost glow a little like a small sunrise. It isn’t very obvious but does help her stand out some more. She wears a pair of black combat boot and has a bunch of different bracelets on her right arm. Yona often wears a pair of red sunstone (feldspar) earrings. On her belt she carries 5 clips of ammo and when going on combat missions she brings another 5 on an extra belt in a backpack along with food and some basic first aid gear.

History:
Yona grew up in Atlas with her older and younger sisters and her parents. They were upper class military because of the weapons her parents designed for the military. Her grandfather had invented a new way to use dust in weapons and ever since her family has been working for Atlas. Her parents were very strict but even with these strict rules the three sisters found a way to live rather free. They all loved music and would sneak out of the house and into the city to go to concerts and play in local faunus joints. The three girls were always together doing things. Their parents were often too busy to keep an eye on them so they grew up relying on each other. It was a mostly normal childhood for the three. Yona was focused on her academics mostly during this time and always strived for the best grades to get her parents approval. While her older sister was an aspiring musician and the younger was learning the best way to appear in high society.
However even as they grew up and began needing to chose which way they would go in a few years they stayed close. One night when Yona was 12 and her sisters were 11 and 19 they were in the city and Amor, the eldest sister, was playing at a local restaurant. Afterwards on their way home a man attempted to rob them at gunpoint. Amor knew she had to protect her siblings and tackled the man getting shot in the process. Seeing this Yona tackled the man before he could try anything else and with the weakened Amor’s help managed to wrestle the gun away. By the time the police got there Amor had passed out and was in grave condition. They quickly rushed to a hospital and Amor went into emergency care. Three long hours later they were told that despite the hospital’s best efforts Amor was in a coma and it was unknown how long this would last. She was lucky to even be alive they said. Shocked the two remaining sisters sat in the family waiting room unsure what to do.
After two more hours passed their parents showed up having just gotten off of work and having found out what happened. The first thing that happened was that instead of making sure the kids were ok or what exactly was going on their father slapped Yona and her younger sister while yelling at them how dumb they were to have broken a rule and gone into the city and that this would make the entire family look bad. Later that night when they all returned home Yona wandered the house unable to sleep. All around her were memories of her sister and that combined with how much Yona hated her parents for how they treated her and her siblings and how her father had reacted to her sister’s coma Yona decided she would leave. The question was what could she do. She wanted to go out and help people and use her smarts for something other than the military and adding to the cycle of white collar Atlas people. Then she remembered that the military academy allowed one to go abroad for Huntsman schooling. This way she could leave Atlas and help others. The next day Yona waited for her parents at the door until as soon as they came home from work she told them that she needed space and was going to apply for combat school. Her parents were of course against this idea. After hours of arguing Yona finally got her father to tell her that she could do whatever she wanted but that she would need to leave their family name behind and that she was effectively disowned. He would provide her with enough money to make it through her schooling but then she was on her own. He was done with her.
Crying Yona gathered her things and left saying goodbye to her younger sister promising to do her best to help others and that she would come back. Going to a friends house from school for the rest of the summer, the next school year Yona applied to join the combat school and was allowed in. Once there Yona learned how to fight and help others.It was here she unlocked her semblance. Although anything physical or athletic she failed her smarts and strong use of her semblance helped her through the years. Once those four years of hard work were over Yona applied to Beacon knowing that Vale was a very liberal kingdom with lots of music and skilled huntsmen. Making it into Beacon she now wishes to improve her music and become the best huntress she can. Cut off from her family Yona is still trying to adapt to the real world but is ready for anything that comes her way.

Personality:
Yona is a kinda and caring girl. She loves trying to help others. She does however end up on the foolish overly emotional end of things a lot of the time. She can’t really keep herself from acting on impulse but is a good strategist in combat because when she is fighting she focuses much more and is able to mostly control her emotions then. She loves to laugh and will make a joke about anything if she feels like it, even at the not so good times for said joke. She can be a bit of a drama queen to get a laugh. Yona loves music and hanging out with friends but also works hard on school. She isn’t a party girl and focuses on school first and friend time 2nd but thankfully she has enough time for both. Her life philosophy is laugh learn and love and she tries to live up to these as best as she can. She doesn't talk to her parents at all really. She only talks to her mom on her sister's birthdays and never with her dad. She does talk almost daily with her younger sister. Yona tends to relax around her friends and will bore anyone to death with information about her favorite bands Anyone that is that isn't a cute boy. She has issues talking to them. She likes to meet new people and tries to really get to know people. Yona is very timid when anti-faunus things come up she tries to get away as fast as she can. She is really bad at standing up against bullying because it was so common in Atlas due to how anti-faunus everyone there is. She does get very protective of her friends or most any girl she sees because she is used to defending her sisters.

Aura and Semblance:

Shadow puppeteer

Can control and animate shadows into creatures to fight for her. The shadows must be of a living creature (Human, Grimm, animal, ect..) and become 3d warriors for her to control. She can only take a human or around human sized creatures right now so max is a small Ursa. She steals their shadow and while she controls the shadows the owner no longer has a shadow. She must either give them voice commands or mentally control them but while mentally controlling one she cannot move. She can give commands vocally like attack this person or defend me but not too specific. She can only mentally control one at a time and when mentally controlling she can control all of the shadow. Shadows once given an order will follow it so she can give an order to some and then control another mentally and the voice commanded shadows will continue to follow their orders. These shadows have little to no mass they can attack and hurt but only hurt about half as badly as what they are shadows of and one hit just goes through them and makes them disperse and need to be re summoned. Summoning a shadow takes a few seconds each. These shadows do have a little mass so they can hold or push things however they are not strong. If a shadow goes more than 100ft away from her it disappears as her semblance loses control. She is a caster and often adds dust abilities to her summons by giving them elemental damage to their attacks so when they hit things it hurts more and inflicts the dust type of damage for three hits before running out of dust and becoming a normal shadow (fire or lightning) or giving them more mass thus making them both stronger and able to take more damage and take 3 or 4 hits instead of the normal one also making them hurt a bit more until they are killed (earth or ice). Her shadow is almost always summoned with her but asleep so she can call it quickly. She can summon up to 7 shadows at a time excluding her personal shadow.

Combat Behavior:
Yona fights by summoning shadows to fight for her and infusing them with different dusts to deal damage or to keep the shadows around. She then shoots her gun from a distance and tries to avoid combat because she is physically not the best and her combat skills are a little lacking, however her control of shadows is very good. She is weak if caught off guard without a shadow she is very weak. She keeps her shadow ready and summoned so that when she has a fight her shadow holds the enemy off long enough for Yona to bring up a few more to fight. Yona is hindered as well by needing to be able to give orders to her summons and can’t do that well if she is being attacked. She will often rely on her team to keep her covered while she mentally commands her best summons and sends simple commands to the rest. When fighting without her semblance Yona mostly blocks attacks with her umbrella and tries to stall and wait to see a chance to fire off shots out of her weapon. She is much weaker but can fight off a beowolf or two. She can fight but mostly tries to hold the enemy off until she can get enough easy shots off at the enemy or run away. She also always has her shadow ready to fight with her so she will use that to mess the enemy up by grabbing their legs or striking out and attacking when enemies are open. She is a pretty good shot with her weapon. She can't shoot the apple off someone's head from a mile away but at medium range where she is best at she is a good enough shot to hit most of her bullets.

WEAPON

Name:

Primary Form:
A mid to long range caliber rifle. It is black and fires from the end of the umbrella. Not meant for close range combat this is used to help support others from a short distance away often. The bullets are able to pierce weaker grimm armor easily but a large Ursa may take multiple shots to hurt. It has a 15 shot clip.

Secondary Form:
The secondary form of her weapon is an umbrella. This is an all black umbrella that Yona uses as a melee weapon and when opened gives her a large almost shield like weapon to help her defend herself when her shadows are unable to. The umbrella is bullet proof. The rifle shoots from the tip of the umbrella and loads with a cartridge coming off the bottom of the handle. The trigger pops out near the handle so the handle acts like a grip to shoot. The weapon looks like a normal umbrella with a weird handle and only reveals what it is when she aims it and opens fire. The umbrella is about 48" in diameter and 2' long.

Dust Functions:
Has ice dust bullets that can freeze enemies, she normally carries 2 clips with her. The freeze mostly slows down enemies and forms a small amount of ice where they hit so she can with a few shots freeze someone's foot to the ground.

History:
Made while in combat school, Yona wanted a weapon that could allow her to assist her shadows in combat and wasn’t too big or hard to use. It was made from an umbrella because it was raining and Yona had forgotten an umbrella and since she wanted her weapon to be something that worked as everyday attire she chose an umbrella.

Appearance is ok but she's fairly short, isn't she? That's borderline dwarfism. To be fair, there are canon characters that are that height so it's not a no. Just wanted to point that out. Like all appearances, images are appreciated but not required.

As for history, the biggest deal here is that she's a faunus but Atlesian upper class. Atlas is a lot more discriminatory/racist towards faunus with faunus usually working menial/hard labor so it's unlikely for a faunus to have a high status in the country. Aside from that, it's fine. A little cliche but well written.

Personality could use a little fleshing out. Could you add some more details? How she is with her friends, how she reacts to this and that, maybe her stance towards racists to faunus? Also, you mention she's "foolishly over emotional" but also "can avoid being too emotionally attached." Can you explain that? Also, hard to think that someone abused by her parents wouldn't have some form of trauma, or at least some negativity to them. Basically, I'm suggesting a few more negative quirks/traits to balance it out.

Aura and semblance needs a little formatting to be a little more understandable. Might I suggest using headers like "Aura Color: white" or something like that. Need some stats on her semblance. Can she mentally control one and verbally control more? How many can she make at a time? what happens to the shadows that come to life? Like does the dog she pulled the shadow from have no shadow anymore? By "shadows must be of a living creature" do you mean she can animate a dog's shadow or can animate a car's shadow and morph it into car-sized dog? Do attacks just phase through them when they disperse. Is it limited to humans or animals or can she do grimm too? What's the aura drain on summoning one? Drain on keeping it 'alive'? If they have no mass, I'm assuming they can attack cause that's the point but can they still hold objects/push objects? How far away from her can they go? If they're charged with dust, does the dust effect dissipate when they attack something or when the shadow "dies"?

Combat behavior is fitting but when did she unlock her semblance? If she relies mostly on her shadows, how did she pass/get into Beacon without a semblance? The fact that she isn't good at fighting without her semblance is a good balance, I think, but maybe she needs some more strengths unless you really want her to be a weakling, which is acceptable as well.

For weapon, how does she carry ammo? How many rounds per magazine? Stopping power on them (like can barely pierce grim scales or can crack right through a beowolf's skull or something along those lines)? Also, it would be good to put a description of the weapon's appearance here. Saying "it's a gun and an umbrella" can have a lot of different interpretations to what the weapon actually looks like. The dust abilities need a little fleshing out. How big of an enemy can it freeze? Area of effect? And again, where does she keep her clips?

sorry that took so long i think i have fixed most of it. She is supposed to be short. May change her height a few inches before finalizing her but that is the idea. Added a decent amount to personality. History got a few small edits on how her family became high class and when she got her semblance. Aura fixed up. Same with combat and weapon.

Given Neo's height of 4'10", I'll have to give the height a pass. Just know it'll have repercussions with reach.

As for history, it makes sense that the only way they'd be accepted into a high status would be if they provide something that only they can. You'll have to take that into account with her personality and the way she treats racial bias. Something like that proooooobably leaves a lasting impact on a kid growing up. As for their dives to local joints for music, maybe point out if they're faunus only places. That'd make sense.

Personality is alright but again, history takes a toll on personality. She was abused and disowned by her dad and lived in a racist city against her kind. That stuff leaves scars.

As for semblance, you mention that she takes the shadows of a living creature. I would so she can summon one and give it an order and forget about it, allowing her to summon another? How complex of a command would it be? Like "strike at their left leg" or just plain "attack!" ? Also you mention "she can control up to 7 shadows at a time." That contradicts the previous statement. Did you mean she can manifest seven at a time but only one is taking active mental control? Also, I'd like to correct myself. Using a semblance does not directly drain aura reserves so that can be excluded.Also, you failed to answer the last one. If they're charged with dust, does the dust effect dissipate when they attack something or when the shadow "dies"? Like if they're charged with ice dust, do they have to get "recharged" if they attack? And if they dissipate, does the effect just poof into thin air and nothing happens or does it release that charged energy? Other than that, I'd recommend you limit her semblance to smaller creatures. Bewolves or ursa at most. Give her time to grow and develop her semblance to take on bigger shadows like deathstalkers in higher years (Wise advice from Gus).

Again regarding combat, how did she get into a combat school if her physical abilities aren't good. She got through it with her semblance but her semblance only activated AFTER she was in school already so a little explanation needed there. Good balance of avoiding combat and having others fight for her to make up for her lack of fighting skill on her own but I would argue that she has to have at least some know how considering she's in a combat oriented profession. I'd like some indication of how she'd fair WITHOUT her semblance please.

Also, how is she with her weapon? Is she a good shot? This is pretty important.

Speaking of her weapon, how durable is the umbrella form? Bullet proof? Reinforced to be able to take a lot of weight/force? And maybe add a bit more about the appearance. Color, markings, size, etc. Makes good detail for RP. She carries 2 clip of ice bullets with her so a total of 30 shots of ice dust? And ah, good description on the actual ice effect. So a small patch of ice.

added how she fights with out semblance and how good a shot she is. from what i have seen with combat schools they are like a private school where you pay to enter and because you are entering at maximum 14 or 15 years old i doubt the students are pre trained heavily for combat and go to these schools to learn how to fight to get into the big schools. with yona's good grades id guess she'd be able to get into combat school.

Just need you to change "summoning a shadow takes a good couple of seconds to 30 seconds depending on size." to something like limiting to smaller creatures at the moment, otherwise they could just make a shadow of the dragon Grimm and wreck shit in just 30 seconds.
