Inside an old music store you could hear the sounds of a hammer as Tychus is fixing up an old display shelf. His hair in a ponytail so it wouldn't get in his face as he worked. "I can't believe that Dad let this thing fall apart. Then again it is kind of my fault to begin with. I let my school work get in the way of the shop, but I know he understands that its not that simple." His outfit was only slightly different in a way that his jackets are tied around his waist and he changed his shirt to be a white sleeveless t-shirt with his symbol emblazoned on it. If one were to look they would see the multitude of scars that line his arms, with the exception of his wrists because he decided to wear checkerboard pattern sweatbands on both of them.
-
Usually Salura would walk past the music store, but hearing the sound of a hammer knocking got her curious. She steps inside slowly and sees someone fixing up a display shelf. She stood there silent, she didn't want to disturb the guy
-
As the door opened a chime rang from the doorway. Tychus heard it between hammer swings and stood up. Luckily, he was done by the time that the door chimed. He saw the girl as he walked over to the register. "Welcome to Darius's Disk Shop. Where all your auditory needs may be met. How can I help?" He smiled after that last sentence. He knew that his dad didn't like any sort of silly intro, but to him it seemed like it may help with getting business in .
-
Sakura went red for a bit, she only cane in because she was curious about the hammering. Sakura gave a slight cough before speaking.
"Do you have 'Hooked on a Feeling'?" Sakura asked. "By Blue Swede?"
-
"It should be in the classics section. Right behind you." Tychus looked at her. He wondered what else he needed to do and looked at the alternative section that was to his right and saw that a few of the shelves were empty and sighed. He went into the back and came back with a few boxes on a dolly. He then proceeded to stock the Alternative section.
-
Sakura nods and heads to the Classic Section, then she saw where it was specifically.
"Great one of those situations where being short doesn't help," Sakura sighed before she clapped her hands in realization. She jumped, but instead of falling fast, she falls relatively slow, enough time for her to find the disc she wanted.
-
Tychus was able to stock up half of the Alternative section when he heard clapping. He looked and saw the girl who came in jump. He walked over to her. "Do you need help ma'am?"
-
Sakura was still floating down holding the disc she wanted.
"All is well and fine," Sakura said as her shoes touched the ground softly.
-
Tychus looked at her. "Well if you need any more assistance, don't be afraid to ask." He walks back to the Alternative section and finishes stocking it.
-
Sakura looks around.
"I was kinda expecting more from this place, " Sakura said while walking around
-
"If you expect more people coming through the door, that usually happens when new albums drop. If it's the selection, my dad lately has been the only one here because I'm at school. I'm sure you can attest to that." Tychus took the dolly and the boxes to the back and as he did he saw that the Metal section's stock was half empty and decided to restock it.
-
"I happen to know someone that works as a DJ in a bar called Pink Forest, do you sell records too?" Sakura said as she browsed through the selection.
-
"Our Vinyl section? Right next to me on the left. Any specifics?" He was getting done stocking up the Metal section and saw that the Rap/R&B/Hip-Hop section was empty. As much as he wanted it to stay empty, he knew that it wasn't good for business. He started restocking that section, with some of the albums giving him a slight face of disgust.
-
"You hate that kind of music?" Sakura said, noting the disgust
-
"Personally, there's only a few gems in this entire section. Business wise, we have to sell it no matter personal preference." Tychus sighed as he was three quarters of the way done when the phone started to ring. He walked over and picked it up. "Thank you for calling Darius's Disk Shop, where all your auditory needs may be met........You want to special order some vinyl albums, ok.........Ok..........Yeah.......So that's a copy of "Lead Sails, Paper Anchors 2.0", a first printing of "Bone Palace Ballet", and the limited edition version of "The Afterman: Ascension" and "Descension". Ok then. I'll get in touch with my boss and I'll get this order done as soon as possible. Thank you and have a good day." He hung up and wrote down the order and put it in the back and went back to finishing the rest of the section that needed restocking.
-
"I keep a buisness where everything is dangerous, I may not look like it but I'm a mechanic who carries a rocket launcher in a pink umbrella,[/colors]" Sakura gave a warm smile.
-
"As a mechanic, you probably have seen your fair share of idiotic requests to beautiful cars and or bikes." Tychus looked at her as he finished. "I mean, there's class, there's style, and then there are just straight idiocy."
-
"Also there is lots and lots of math... I can't make a carbine without knowing the specifics, or a car without knowing the math like weight and all that. Some people just don't understand, like that dupstep artist wearing clown makeup that came to my place asking for a purple Lamborghini, the thing is they wanted the Lamborghini to be able to play dubstep, the wheels speakers and have an entire dance floor," Sakura sighed. "I told them it would be impossible considering it won't be a car anymore... the car would be crushed under its own weight."
-
"Just last week I had a customer come in, buy a few vinyl albums, and the day after come back with them saying that they had been scratched up to hell. The funny thing was, they were sealed. I know I checked, but they demanded their money back. Dad told me to just give it to them. Found out two days later from one of their friends that they scratched them because they were trying to learn how to be an old school Deejay." Tychus started shaking his head. "They let me record the conversation and was able to get the little scammer back. But not before handing out their photo and telling of what they did to every single other music shop in Vale."
-
"Did they pay back?" Sakura asked
-
"After every other shop in town wouldn't sell them anything. Which took a while because their level of idiocy was way beyond any recorded record." He sighed. "Did you need anything else? Any other types of music for your friend? Say, an R&B album for their backtrack?"
-
Sakura shakes her head.
"I'll suggest to my friend this place, so how much for the disc?" Sakura asked
-
"Luckily you came in when we had a sale on the Classic section. Originally it's 10 plus tax, but because of the sale its 6 plus tax." Just as that last sentence left his mouth and he walked over to the register, the door chimed again as a man who looked like he was in his 30's walked in. He looked like he would fit in perfectly with a mosh pit at a punk concert, even with the shaven head and pointed goatee. He walked over to the front counter and looked at the special order slip that Tychus had made earlier. "I'm back, hope the shop isn't in ruins. Also, we got a midnight release the day after tomorrow. That band you like, the one whose name is based on the directors of some murdering clown movie, that one." Tychus looked at him and smiled from ear to ear. "Hey dad, I wasn't expecting you back so soon." He looked back at Sakura. "But yeah that's the price, and yes please tell your friend. It would be nice to get some local flavor in the shop if they want to sell their albums here."
-
"Nah she ain't the type, it's just her job at the bar called Pink Forest," Sakura walked to the counter, ignoring the Tychus's dad as she got out lien and handed it to Tychus.
-
"Okay then. Thank you for the purchase, and have a nice day." Tychus rung up the purchase and handed Sakura her receipt. He thought about what to do for the rest of the day, since his dad came back in early.
-
New to Vale, Yngvarr decided he could make use of a wander around the local area. Noticing a fairly small music shop he decided to go in. Maybe the owner would be able to tell him a little bit about the surroundingame area. He squeezed his large frame through the door that seemed maybe just a little too small, and greeted the cashier and a small girl made to seem even smaller by his size. "Good afternoon. I was wondering if any of you could help me out a bit?"
-
Tychus saw the colossus of a wolf faunas walk in and was amazed he was able to fit through the door. "Welcome to Darius's Disk Shop. Where all of your auditory needs may be met. How can I be of assistance?" Tychus's dad turned around as Tychus said that. He may have minded that Tychus gave the store a slogan, but the shop needed a little personality. "And I am Darius. Anything you need sir, don't be afraid to ask me or my son."
-
Sakura bowed and took her leave, she was pretty happy about being able to find this song
-
Yngvarr was pleased he got a welcome. Sometimes people could be intimidated by his size, so this was a pleasant surprise. "I'might only wondering if you could give me a few pointers. I'm new in town you see. Just moved here from Atlas. Are you able to give me some ideas? Nice places to eat, places to go in the evenings, etc?" He started browsing through the music as he was speaking.
-
Tychus watched him browse the store. "There's some decent places to get a bite to eat. I can give you the locations, all I need to do is point them out to you on a map. As for things to do at night, depending on the time of the year, you can catch a good show if it fits your personal preference."
-
"Oh good. Just circle some nice places on this map here then." He produced a map from his pocket, laying it on the counter."Pretty nice place. Get much business here?" He asked.
-
Tychus got a fine tip marker and circled a few spots on the map. Some of them looked off the beaten path as a couple looked like they were."These places are pretty good despite their aesthetic appeal. Also let me point out some places where you may find a good show or two." He drew a little star at a few locations that were visible if you were casually strolling around and a few at some locations that seemed like they were for the more experienced venue searcher. "Some of the places of the beaten path may ask who referred you. Just tell them that a certain nerve-dead wolf sent them your way." Tychus smiled as he said that
-
Yngvarr skipped over the fact that his question was ignored. Maybe it was for a reason. He looked at the map again, before folding it up and stowing it away again. "Thanks friend." He said, extending a large hand towards the cashier. "I'll be sure to give these places a try. And I may well visit here again soon too."
-
Tychus shook the mans hand with a smile on his face. "No problem. Hope to see you again. Also, welcome to Vale."
-
Yngvarr took his leave, happy with what information he had gleaned. No unnecessary questions, no trouble. Just friendly service. Maybe he would visit again in the near future. He waved a quick goodbye before squeezing himself through the door frame again.
-
Darius was able to get a look at the map and the locations that Tychus put down for the guy. "Let's hope that that guy knows what a mosh pit is and how to handle one,. I saw a few of those areas you marked for entertainment purposes, and I know without a doubt that those were the Death Metal concerts that you intentionally got yourself injured at." He looked at Tychus with a fatherly concern. Tychus gave him a snide smile. "Not all of them are. A few of them are the techno joints that Thrall took me too, two of them are the punk bars that Dreg took me to, and finally one of them being the coffee shop that Minos took me to that gave me the munchies from here to the top of Beacon's tallest building. While that leaves 5 extra spots, the answer to your question is yes. But while that happened to me, I'm pretty sure he can handle himself quite well." Tychus looked at his father with a concerned look on his face. "Am I a horrible person?" Darius replied with a chuckle and smacked Tychus's back. "Technically yes, but you felt that by taking in the different sights, sounds, and tastes, you were being a good guide on what there is to do here in Vale. I can't blame you for trying your best. Remember, next time, no Death Metal shows for people fresh off the boat."
