The weather was terrible outside. The rain came out of the sky as if the world was just about to end. Not being able to train like he planned to, Mikado decided to go to the library. The big clock above the main entrance showed that it was 1:25 pm.
The library was quite empty, which was surprising regarding the weather outside, but that was more than fine with him. Kiro, his little black dragon, sat in his rabbit sized form on his head while Mikado walkes to one of the large bookshelf. Every single book of this compartment had some kind of information regarding every kind of grimm which was known. He gave every book a quick look and wanted to pick one, but befor his hand could reach the book, Kiro jumped off his head, knocking a few books out of the shelf, which made a loud noise as they hit the ground. The Dragon turned around to face his owner again and than layed his paw on one of the remaining books left on the shelfe. It was a rather thick one. It had a dark red color and the cover had a Geists Grimm mask on it.
Mikado stooped and picked up the books his dragon caused to fall down the shelf, and put them back into it. He then took the book his dragon chose for him and searched for a fitting place to sit. Kiro already had positioned himself on Mikados head again and looked around the library.
Just as about Mikado found a nice and dark place to sit, Kiro spread his wing and flew in the different direction.
Completely annoyed with his dragons actions, he decided to ignore it and sat down where he had planned to, to read the book.
In the meantime, Kiro flew to a girl with blond hair. The girl didn’t seem to notice him, when he landed on the table. The small dragon raised his head and checked the air, he then looked at the girl again. The smell of dust came from the backpack she had with her, and so he made his way to it.

.
-
Kiro tilted his head to the side and looked at the girl. He tried to get into the bag again, but it ended in the same result. After just standing there and looking at the girl for a couple of seconds, Kiro turned to the book the girl had and layed down in the middle of it. His body, especially his wings, covered up most of the text and images the book had to offer. Now, laying comfortably on the girl's book, the dragon looked at her again, then at her bag, befor letting his eyes rest on her again.
-
.
-
The Dragon gave her an annoyed look, as far as dragons can look annoyed that is. Following the girls eyes, Kiro noticed the pile of notes and papers. That would probably not end good, but his owner was on a table, from which he couldn’t see anything that would happen, so he would risk it. Kiro dahes forward and snatched about three of the already fully described notes with his mouth. He quickly glanced back to see the girl reaction, before jumping of with the notes

Kiro didn't stop when he saw the hand. He was a Aura-Dragon after all, so he could just ignore it. Just as he grabbed the papers, he let them fall again. He quickly jumped at the girls chest and tried to hide himself in her coat.
Mikado had put the book he took back into the shelf. 'Just another book with no information on the Chimera-Grimm' he thought to himself as he put the book between the others. His dragon hadn’t showed up since he flew off a few minutes ago, and Mikado was sure that he was up to no good. Kiro normaly srayes by Mikados side, and listen to everything he says, but maybe even a dragon can have it's days off. We started to wander around the library. Maybe someone was seen him. He preferes not to talk to anyone if doesn’t have to, but finding his dragon should be a good enough reason. She spottet a girl, sitting on a table not too far away from him. He slowly approaches her "Hey, did you see a dragon around here?"

The whole altercation between Kiro and Amane was quite the amusing break from Calen's operator algebras homework, pages and pages of loose paper spread across a large table scattered in ordered chaos with gloved hands shuffling, searching for the relevant piece while keeping most of his attention on the non-organised chaos. When the owner of the ...lizard... made himself known Calen was hardly surprised, his messy hair and impolite greeting marked him as a thoroughly repugnant individual.
'Have you considered a leash? Some could conclude that letting your pet run wild in a library of all places displays a degree of careless frivolity or frivol carelessness I suppose.' Calen remarked smugly from a few tables away.
-
Mikado turned to the newcomer and rolled his eyes "He don't need a leash, he just has is annoying phase right now." he said. After a few seconds went by, th black dragon came into sight again. He streched his wings and looked at the human boy, which sat a few tables away. He gave Mikado a quick stare, before he spread his wings and flew to the table the other boy sat. Maybe has was more fun than the girl. Kiro's big, empty eyes stared at the boy, and Mikado decided to watch would happen. It wasn't every day you see a dragon, actually, besides some Grimm which kinda looked similar to dragons, there wasn't any way to actually see one in real life.
-
.
-
'That's quite amusing considering that 'annoying phase' is exactly why your little gecko needs a leash.' Responded Calen. Despite his dismissive responses Calen did stop working as Kiro came closer, well after suffling his notes away that is. Out stretching a hand for the dragon to smell, palm down as you would with a dog. 'An interesting specimen though, where did you find it? Calen continued moving his hand closer to scratch the edge of the dragon's face
Under the table Calen's other hand had retrieved his scroll and had begun dialing the campus animal control team.
-
There's a rather loud bang as the doors suddenly open, and a small figure darts into the library from outside in the pouring rain - a student at Beacon from her garb, a large pair of blue-green wings arching up over her head in attempt to shield herself from the worse of the rain. As the door closes behind her, the faunus gives a shiver, before stretching her wings out behind her to shake them off - sending water droplets flying everywhere.
"Ohmygosh it's absolutely pouring out there, you think the weather report for clear skies would be more accurate but no, nope, it's gotta rain cats and dogs and birds and cows on us. Sorry about the noise, was just such a rush to get in here, I didn't want my notes to get any wett..." Prism trails off as she stares at the peculiar scene in front of her, one girl nonchalantly studying while another guy entertained what looked like... a dragon? Was that a dragon?
"...I hope I'm not interrupting something, because that little guy is adorable! Hey, little dude!" Prism waves one hand in the air, grinning at the dragon, and fishes through her wet messenger bag to pull out out a bag of... is that dried fruit? Do dragons like dried mango? One way to find out.
-
Sitting at a table listening to music, Lilly looked up when there was enough noise to get through her headphones. Looking around she saw a dragon and some people gathered together. Deciding her studying was done enough, I mean who really wants to study, she stood up and walked over to the other people. "So what are you all doing over here? Looks like a lot more fun than studying." Sitting down on the table with the dragon, her cat ear's twitched as she glanced around.
-
Mikado sighed and looked up. Did this person really said that Kiro was some kind of gecko? Who ever heard of a gecko with wings? "I don't know why I should tell you where I got this dragon from.He said to the boy. More people started to come as time went on, and of course, most of the attantion as almost immediately on the dragon.
Unlike being completely annoyed by everything around like Mikado, Kiro took advantage of the situation. He looked at the Hummingbird and cat faunus for a few seconds befor he started to make his way to the hummingbird faunus.
-
'I'm sorry that I appear to be the first one to tell you this but dragons aren't real, well aside from the large Grimm breeds I suppose.' Calen responded his attention now focused on the loud stomping noises coming from the doorway although he still absentmindedly scratched the dragon's chin. Caught unaware as the wave of raindrops flew off Prism landing on both Calen's notes and suit, managing to save his notes with a few quick rubs the gaunt boy quickly put the paper in his pack and took out a towel to offer to the faunus. 'Misplaced your umbrella young miss? There is a back way entrance you might find more appropriate.' Calen remarked callously, his racist double entendre hopefully slipping unnoticed at least for now.
Lily's question did quieten Calen for a few moments however, what exactly were his plans here. Continuing to study didn't seem likely with all the people they where attracting and the only really interesting thing seemed to have found someone else more interesting and headed towards the humming bird Faunus. 'It might not that be that clean cut I'm afraid. This is an impromptu affair of those caught up in the gecko's chaos. But you are welcome to join.' Calen responded to Lily and only waited a few moments before adding, 'I suppose we should do introductions, unless you don't want to tell me that either?' Calen finished smiling cheekily at Mikado. 'I'm Calen, Calen Shrike.'
-
Prism approaches the table and takes the offered towel, clicking her tongue at the dragon as she approaches before moving to towel off her hair. She pauses momentarily at Calen's comment, narrowing her eyes and shooting a glance to Lily to see the other faunus' reaction, before offering Calen a brief humorless smile in return." "C'mon, how can you say dragons aren't real? There's an adorable one right here! And also, didn't anticipate the clouds opening up like that - but if there's a back entrance, I'm sure you must use it often to so highly recommend it!"
She turns her attention back to the dragon then, clicking her tongue and making a soft cooing noise at the little lizard - dragons can't be too different from birds, can they? They both fly at least. Moving the towel from over her shoulders, she wiggles it a couple times above the little lizard's head - exactly like a cat toy. "And the name's Prism, Prism Skylark. Nice to meet you all."
-
Kiro followed the towel with his eyes, and just befor he wanted to jump at it, he heard his owner calling his name. "Kiro, feuer." Mikado said and pointed with his head at the few notes Calen didn't packed away yet. Obeying the order he just got, the small dragom turned to Calen's notes, opend his mount, and less than a few seconds later, the notes caught fire. (Feuer=Fire)
The name's Mikado, and trust me, dragons are real" the black haired boy said.
Satisfied with carry out the order, Kiro turned to Prism again, ignoring the fire he caused behind him.
-
.
-
Prism frowns slightly in disappointment as the dragon turned away from the towel, opening it's mouth as it approached Calen's notes - and gives a squawk of alarm as the papers are suddenly set alight. She rushes forwards with the towel, quickly blotting at the open flame with the damp fabric. There's a panicked scuffle for a few minutes as Prism attempts to put out the fire, and by the time it's been smothered, they're breathing somewhat heavily before a glare is leveled at the Dragontamer. "You know, I try not to judge people to harshly, and hell buddy I was even defending you there - but are you shitting me? Lighting a fire in a library to prove a point? There were so many better ways to go about that, instead of risking burning down the entire damn building!"
They give a final sigh, before lifting up the towel - hopefully the notes haven't been too singed. "Uh, sorry about that Calen. Not sure I managed to save them, with the whole open-flame thing. If they're illegible, I think I have some you could borrow..."
-
Raising an eyebrow at Prisim's response Calen was about to respond as Kiro gathered himself for it's attack. Counting himself lucky to get his fingers away from the blast as Kiro's fire rended hours of his work ash. Leaning back on his chair as Prism tried her best to smother the fire Calen sort both to get away from the heat radiating off the desk and to add even more arrogance into his smirk directed at Mikado. 'I appreciate your concern Miss Skylark but there is no reason to get upset, you did a wonderful job dousing the flames and it's all up here anyway, I write the problems out to calculate not to remember.' Calen responded merrily, tapping the side of his head.
'And Master Mikado I'm afraid I must insist, dragons are by their definition creatures of folk lore and myth.' Calen began taking a hint from Amane as Calen rocked further and further back in his chair. 'Aura constructs are that, constructs, no more draconic than some people's clones are them. I have another text book you could burn if you are having trouble with your temper again. Although I'd ask you to let me get it out of the bag first, wouldn't want to run out of things to fuel your rage now would we.' Calen continued smiling as his chair leaned so far back it began to topple backwards... or at least it did for a moment. Just as Calen and his chair was going to hit the ground a green flash righted them both in an instant.
'Although.' Calen added, now still and after a small delay. 'That does give us something to do, we could burn down a section of the library. I vote for the psychology section.'
-
"took you long enough to notice that it's my seblance." Mikado said as Amane joined the conversation. Next one was Calen. He really is annoying, but Mikado wasn't mad or everything. Just... annoyed. Befor he said anything to the black haired male, he first turned to Prism "I could have take it out. The fire wasn't really a threat" then, he turned to Calen "But we're not burning down the library. You can do it, but leave me out of this" he said.
Kiro slowly started to calm down a bit and stopped from jumping from on person to the other. The black dragon, which was in the air just a few seconds ago, now landed on Mikados head, his own head resting on his paws. That helped Mikado's mood at least a bit. He should really stop giving him that much dust, if they don't need it to fight or for other things. Kiro always jumpes around and tries to use up the extra energy, he has, but apparently he calmed down enough, at that was good enough Mikado.
-
.
-
Prism doesn't respond to Amane right away - looking at the intense staredown between the two boys, and just sighing in response."Firstly Calen, just call me Prism please. Secondly, can we quit the dick measuring competition please? Fancy demonstrations of semblance or not, we're still in the library, and I'm not privy to getting kicked out. Third and finally, leave the damn psychology section alone - we don't to have any more victims in this battle of egos." She finishes off her point by gesturing to the scorch mark on the table.
She turns to her teammate then, glancing back to check the status of the rainshower. "Though honestly, if we want to see Kiro go ham - which honestly sounds pretty cool to witness, the little guy's a bitching aura construct - moving outside isn't a bad idea. The weather's cleared up enough at least."
-
Were those guys serious? Kiro just started to calm down and now they want him to fight and go crazy again? Why is he even still in the library? There are way to many people here for him to deal with right now. But on the other hand, he had planed to train with Kiro today, so it was probably a win win situation for everyone.
"Fine..." Mikado said and rolled his eyes.
They would probably have some issues outside, because it was still raining, but as long as they won't wake up sick the next day, he should be okay with it. Still having Kiro on his head, Mikado made his way to the doors "Are you coming or what?" He asked, but didn't wait for a response. It didn't took him long to get outside.
The rain got less heavy, but it still was unpleasant standing outside. Guess, fire won't work he thought to himself as he rummage around in his bag, he had with him. He pulled out a lightning-dust crystal and threw it infront of him. The black dragon jumped from his head and caught the crystal in mid air. After chewing around on it he quickly swallowed.
A few seconds later, the rest of the crew came outside, and Mikado heared one of them gasp surprised. That wasn't something new to him, a lot of people are surprised when they suddenly see the small dragon grow to his more enormous (9,67 feet) size.
-
.
-
Prism followed Amane outside, once again moving her wings over her head to shield herself from the light drizzle that remained. Chucking a dust crystal into the air was dangerous enough, but the dragon and sudden growth was more than enough to get wide eyes and a quirked grin out of the faunus. Okay, that was a cool semblance.
"Two important questions: firstly, can he fly like this? If so, can you ride him? And secondly, can he like shoot lightning or fire or whatever depending on what crystal the little guy eats?"
-
'It was a joke Prism calm down. No need to take everything so seriously.' Calen responded rather despondently gathering his pack and snuffling his burnt notes into the nearby bin. Removing his suit jacket Calen took out his umbrella and offered it to Amane as it looked like they where going back out into the rain. Keeping dry under the alcoves around the library, not having the greatest immune system Calen took great lengths to avoid getting sick as well as sneezing on people simply being impolite.
'Crystals are an interesting choice. Can it absorb dust in it's powdered form or is your dragon stuck with the more unrefined stuff? There are quite a few people who use crystals but I've never seen the attraction more so than dust in general I suppose.' Calen asked rubbing his arm as ghost pain from an errant steam dust crystal spiked slightly. 'You all seem very similar however Master Mikado, perhaps you should form a club.'
-
Slipping outside, Lilly put her headphones on covering one of her ears and twitched them. Looking around she found somewhere comfortable to sit and said, "Well that is something I haven't seen before. This should be interesting, what is he gonna fight?"
-
Prism looks up at the large dragon, a considerate look on her face - before grinning, a twinkle coming to her eyes as she turns to Mikado. "I don't know about fighting, but how about a race?" She flutters her wings above her head again to make a point, sending water droplets cascading everywhere again.
"From the top of the library across the courtyard, and back again. Winner gets bragging rights, and... I dunno. Chocolate pretzels? I have an entire bag of them, if people are interested, and if you've got something to offer up yourself, go for it."
-
Mikado patted Kiros head, "He can fly, but don't ever think of riding him. And for your other question, yes, but I keep the assortment short."
Turning to Calen he added " It works with every kind of dust processing, but crystals works the best"
After listening to the ideas of the other students on what to do now, he decided to stick with Prism's idea.
"A race is fine by me. So, there is a new pizzeria down in Vale and If I lose, I'm going to buy one for all of you. That's okay with everyone?"
-
.
-
Prism glances at the motorcycle- that thing's still impressive - before shooting Amane a grin. "Now in what world is a motorcycle as fair as a pair of wings? Frankly though, it'll be fun to see if i can keep up with a machine like that."
-
.
-
Prism raised her hands in the air as if accused, yet grins at Amane despite that. "Absolutely! Bring on the racing music!"
-
'You want to race your motorcycle to and from the top of the library?' Remarked Calen with a small chuckle. 'Maybe a few times the oval might be better or around the block so we don't overly damage the grass but sure a race sounds interesting.' Calen loosened his tie and top buttons while swapping his dress shoes for trainers in his pack. Starting to stretch Calen continued. 'I've got to say food seems a little boring how about the winner can make a request of those he beats.'
'But why can't it be ridden, can't it take the weight? Or does your dragon simply not like it.' Calen asked looking up and down Kiro, he seemed solid enough to Calen but you never know with this aura constructs. The fire was real enough. Calen thought to himself bitterly.
-
"You guys have fun. I'll judge the race," Lilly says relaxing on a bench.
-
.
-
"It's a bit of both" Mikado told Calen. All of the boys questions slowly started to get on his nerves. Can't they just start the race already?
He patted Kiro one last time, befor leaning against the the wall of the library. "Everyone ready?"
-
Prism's smile grows, giving a cheeky grin to Amane before turning to reply to Calen. "The winner can ask something of those they beat, sure, just nothing absolutely ridiculous. On my count, okay?"
Prism take the opportunity to tug off her school overcoat, leaving her in just the white dress shirt underneath, letting the tie drop to the side as well. She takes a moment to fluff her wings, extending them to their full length - before a noticeable gust of wind blows through the area, culminating in an updraft. Prism rides the updraft with a few beats of her wings, and when she reaches a suitable height, her wings speed up until they're a nearly imperceptible blur - just like a hummingbird's.
"On your marks, get set, go!"
-
.
-
'Shouldn't the judge do the countdown?' Calen asked as he glance up at the finish line. Doing some light leg stretches the gaunt boy warmed himself up against the damp air in preparation to the flurry of activity that will come. Launching himself forward with a chain of bursts from his semblance on, or more likely before, the call of go Calen shot himself towards the top of the library. Benefiting from both being able to take the most direct path, incredible acceleration and not having to dodge students Calen rocketed ahead at least for the first few moments. He was also however expending the most personal energy and therefore it was as much a race between himself as it was the others.
'Try not to hit anyone on the way up young miss, it would be awfully inconsiderate to the groundskeepers. And you want to be on her good side, she has a bear.' Calen called out as he shot through the air. Chaining his semblance together like this is never a good plan in combat and as such Calen didn't do it much in practice, still there was something magical about being weightless on the wind, it did a lot to put his mind at ease.
-
Kiro's wings were raised over his head as Prism counted down. As soon as the word "go" left the girl's mouth he shot up to the sky. The created impetus gave him an immediate boost, giving him the lead for a couple of moments. Sadly, dragens weren't known for being fast flyer. They have a mighty start, but they speed slowly ease up. Still, Kiro could fly with an impressive speed of 200km/h, but that still wasn't enough to stay ahead for long.
-
Prism'stakeoff is like a shot, the initial boost of wind that throws her forwards kicking throwing her into the lead for only moment - before she's rapidly overtaken by Amane on her motorcycle, before Kiro passes her, the breeze from dragon's wings causing her to wobble dangerously. She looks down, watching Calen literally leap his way across the courtyard in a short series of dashes. Well, there's no way in hell she'll win this.
...Not unless she kicks her speed up with one final speed boost, and slips into Kiro's impressive tailwind. Flying on that dragon's rear is going to be the only way she keeps up, and quickly dipping into place gives her the significant boost she needs.
-
.
-
Despite his at times overwhelming arrogance it wasn't at all surprising to Calen as he quickly became outpaced by his more aerially suited competitors. Still burst speed wasn't all the gaunt boy's semblance gave him, it also gave him control. Being slightly behind the pack as most of them reached the highest point of the library Calen absorbed all his momentum upon reaching it as to not over shoot. Instead Calen managed to shoot himself back towards the ground with even having to turn around. Now with gravity as well as his semblance on his side Calen plummeted down almost instantly reaching terminal velocity the normally composed boy let out a loud 'WOOOOOOOOOO.' As such Calen crashed back to first place as everyone else moved into the second leg of the race.
-
Kiro glanced back to see Prism. With one, storng flap of his wings, he hauled himself one level higher.
Back at the entrance of the library Mikado watched the whole scenario. He knew that Kiro wouldn't win, he knew that from the start. The only reason he agreed to the race was to simply train Kiro's speed, but still, the dragon was fast and if anyone screw up, he would probably have a good chance of winning.
Taking his eyes of the race for a second he turned to Lilly "Who do you think will win?"
-
Prism manages to follow Kiro's trick upwards, managing to just keep up by flying in the dragon's tailwind. The advantage of being the smaller flier in this situation was obvious however, and with another gust of wind to propel her up and over the dragon's body, she manages to just slip past his head in time to touch down the roof for barely a second - before turning to dive off again.
Knowing she'd need all the speed she could get to win this race - or at least come in second - Prism tucks her wings against her back as she nosedives along the wall of the library. At the very last second, they're extended again - right before she hits the ground. The momentum of the dive carries her forwards, and with another burst of wind zooming right past Amane to pulling up short behind His sudden shout sets her off giggling - and it isn't before long she's broken into a full-on belly laugh, only managing to just keep up with her semblance.
-
.
-
A large thud accompanied Calen slamming once again into Terra Firma, pain rocketing through his already weakened knees almost shook the wide smile off the gaunt boy's face. Almost. The rest of the competitors too close behind to risk slowing down for a more comfortable landing Calen risked serious injury to ensure victory but it was a gamble that paid off and now all the spoils was his, and the bragging. 'It appears wings are slightly over rated, regardless a wager is a wager and I mean to collect.' Calen remarked, even without looking at the huntsman in training it was clear he was loving every second. 'Still I wouldn't want the accusation of being a bad sport, any limits people want to put on these requests now you know you personally won't be able to collect?' Calen continued massaged his aching knees, they had taken a lot of punishment in the preceding weeks and were protesting such loudly.
'Well raced all, it must be said. Even the lady with the motorcycle managed herself soundly.' Calen finished, finally getting ahold of himself the gaunt boy reclothed himself in his suit and tightened his tie.
-
.
-
Prism's manages to distract herself with her laughter, letting Amane pass as Prism settles into third. Flipping around midair, a sudden boost of air in the opposite direction slows her down significantly - enough so she when she lightly collides with the library's wall, it's enough she can kick off and float back to the ground. "Honestly, just try to remember we're all still students here. Most of my budget goes towards ammo and repair for my rifle so - well, basically nothing too expensive, alright?"
She finishes the sentence with a smile, alighting to the ground and taking the chance to stretch her wings out, her arms overhead. "And hey, don't knock the wings - it just so happens you're built for speed. But still Calen, not too shabby there - you put up an impressive show." Prism finishes the sentence with something of a teasing smile, and approaches the boy - offering the winner of the race a respectful handshake.
-
Mikado watched as everyone came to a stop. As soons as the race has ended, Kiro detransformed to his smaller form again and flew down to Mikado to rest on his hear. "So, give us your order mister winner and let us get over it" The boy said as he walked up to Calen and the others.
-
Calen waves away Amane offering. 'Thank you but no thank you, I'm going running in a few hours. The last thing I need is to make myself anymore brittle.' Calen responded almost apologetically, it wasn't true of course and was simply another example of the gaunt boys fixation on self-reliance screwing himself over. 'That's a handsome bike however, you get much opportunity to push it's speed? Can't imagine you cut loose much in the city?' Calen continued looking at the vehicle out of the side of his vision.
Calen hesitated slightly before taking Prisms hand in one of his silk gloves. 'Don't worry Mi... Prism it won't cost any of you a cent, not monetarily any way. And of course wings have their uses, in a longer race you would of had me but it seems I remain Lady Luck's favourite.' Calen remarked. Taking out his scroll Calen started humming the tune of a simple cereal jingle before starting to sing off key 'Calen is the best, Calen beat me, Calen Shrike Calen Shrike.' Pressing a few more buttons Calen turned back to the group before smiling widely. 'Your ringtones, until you beat me in something then you get to choose mine. Fair?' Calen finished
-
.
-
Prism finishes shaking his hand and pats him a few times on the back, before turning to dig through her schoolbag before momentarily pulling out a notably older-model Scroll. Turning it on emits a sad dying sound a fading flash of light while Prism momentarily frowns, but smacking the little tablet against her hand gets it to finally activate, which gets a smile out of the faunus. "Not a bad choice! I can just keep this thing on vibrate for the rest of the year, and we'll be good to go." Connecting to Calen's profile as well, she stares a moment as the jingle downloads, before it begins to blare rather obnoxiously through the Scroll's speakers and Prism rapidly hurries to turn it off.
-
Mikado pulled out his scroll, which he had kept in his pocket and quickly found Calen's profil and the ringtone he had to live with from now on. His scroll was mostly muted anyway, so having a different ringtone wasn’t that much of a deal.
"You should really get a new scroll, that one is ready for the trash can" Mikado said with a skeptical look, as Prisms scroll started blaring out nauseatingly noises, befor she turned off the volume.
-
'Kids these days and their work phones and business outside the city. It's no fun if you try to cheat your way out of these things.' Calen responded clearly playing up his melancholy but there was a needle of truth beneath it all. After drying a spot for himself with a second towel Calen settled himself down on a nearby bench as he started to stretch himself out and examine a bit closer the group arrayed in front of him. Two faunus, neither of them having the decency of to cover up their deformities and two humans; one a very good rider given the lack of screams and the other with a very visually impressive semblance. Calen could respect that, although it might be the most combat effective use of ones strength he as much as anyone understood the importance of pleasing the crowd.
'No rush to challenge the reigning champion? Oh well I'll try to take it as a compliment. So where are all you guys from anyway? I'm from south Mistral well south Anima actually.' Calen continued both talking and stretching.
-
Prism responds by covering her mouth with a yawn, stretching her wings before digging through her bag for the aforementioned chocolate-covered pretzels. Finding the bag with a successful "Ah-ha!" and nabbing out an energy drink as well, she plopped down next to Calen before popping it open nibbling on one of the confections. "I'm from southern Vale, little village a ways outside the border. Place was so small it didn't really have a name, but locals called it the Roost." She appears to be reminiscent for a couple seconds, before coming back around.
