It was a quiet morning in Beacon Academy. Here and there, the faint songs of the birds up before dawn could be heard as they prepared to search for food. With the majority of its attendees still in the dorms asleep, Beacon Academy seemed almost like a ghost town.

Breaking the silence, Oberon made his way through the school as he walked south towards the entrance to the Emerald Forest. Watching his surroundings, he nodded in acknowledgement to two upperclassmen who appeared to be enjoying the quiet morning by taking a morning jog. Pressing onward, he made the descent down the path to the west of the Emerald Forest entrance where he informed a new team to meet him.

Getting to the meeting point and seeing no one there yet, he checked his watch to see that he had arrived almost twenty minutes early. Better early than right on time he thought as he found a nearby stump and took a seat. Pulling out his canteen, he took a long drink from it, savoring the rich, fragrant coffee his wife prepared for him before he left. Looking over to the Residential section of Vale, he saw the faint pink glow of his mark on his wife. Smiling to himself, he pulled out a cigar and proceeded to lighting it. A simple escort mission today, huh? he thought, smirking slightly at the notion. Despite him not needing an escort for what he was asked to do, this was a great way to help a team build trust among each other as well as for him to assess their strategies and tactics before he got them in his class.

Taking a deep inhale from his cigar, he let it out in a long, drawn out breath, the smoke lingering for a moment before dissipating. Team Blossom, hmmmm? Should be interesting he contemplated, taking another sip from his canteen as he waited for the four members of the team to arrive.

Billy made her way out from the cafeteria and out into the cool morning air. She kept checking her scroll's map to find the meeting place as she walked through the courtyard, just to make sure she didn't get lost. The last few days where tense to say the least. Between the almost fight that happened, and her first mission jitters, she barely got any sleep. Not like mornings where her favorite time of the day either. It seemed like breakfast helped calmed her down, and woke her up, for the most part.

As she approached the little meeting spot dot on her scroll, she looked up and saw the young-ish teacher with a thick beard waiting on the stump drinking from a canteen.

"Mister..." She looks at her scroll quickly, "Oberon?" Billy asks.

Walking out towards the Emerald Forest, Smokey quickly patted himself down, making a last-minute check of his gear.

Gun?  Check.

Ammo?  Check.

Bigger gun?  Check.

"Articles"?

Smokey turned to look at the pouch over his back pocket and opened the zipper to examine its contents.  Eight massive bullets sat inside, filled to the brim with two different shades of red.  "Check," Smokey said to himself, zipping the container back up.  Smokey was a little nervous, which was why he kept running through his mental checklist to make sure he hadn't forgotten anything.  It was his first mission, after all.  How dumb would it be to show up and not have brought any bullets? 

Smokey shook his head and slapped his cheeks.  He was fine.  He had run through that checklist 4 times already since leaving the locker room at Beacon.  He had his armor, his coat, his guns, his bullets, his--...make that 5 times since leaving his locker. 

With a sigh, he continued on into the Emerald Forest to the meeting point.  When he arrived, he gave Billy a slight nod, slightly surprised she got there before him.  He then looked at the man sitting on the stump.  "So, uh," Smokey started, "you the guy?"  Ladies and gentlemen, presenting Smokey Emberstone, investigative specialist.

OOC: Normally, I like to go in turns and was thinking of waiting until the other two posted, but I think it'll be alright if I post again briefly.


Looking up from his canteen, Oberon nodded in acknowledgement to both students that walked up to him. "Top of the morning" he replied simply. "You must be Billy" he asked as he walked over to Billy with an extended hand before turning to Smokey. "And you must be Smokey" he said, extending his hand to the lad. "Yes, my name is Oberon. The others should be here soon." Looking at his clock and seeing that there was still ten minutes until the time they were required to show up, he took another puff from his cigar and let the smoke trickle out through his nostrils. "Once the others show up I will go ahead and debrief all of you. For now, go ahead and make sure you have everything in order." With that, he took another sip from his canteen and sat back down on the stump he was on previously.

Mikado left for the Emerald Forest later than intended to. He still had about fifteen minutes before the mission starts, more than enough to get to the meeting point on time, but he would have prefered arriving a bit sooner.
As Mikado continued his way to the meeting spot, the black creature, which had buried his head in his owner's hair for the fist 3/4 of the way, lifted his head to take in some of the still remaining morning breeze. A few faint human scents came along with the humid wind, two of them seemd familiar, but the third one was completely foreign.
There were about ten minutes remaining as Mikado arrived where Billy, Smokey and the professor were waiting for the rest of the team.
So, the cowgirl and the hothead are here. And the professor. What was his name again? Oberlon? Whatever.
Mikado greeted Billy and the professor with a small nod as he leaned against a nearby tree.

The last two weeks had been something of a blur for Serin, between school starting and his teammates nearly shooting himself he wasn't sure if he was having a good or bad time. The start had been explosive before simmering down into a routine, one that involved a lot of tension in their share room but none the less. Serin sighed as he finished his food all these thoughts swirling around in his head, "Hopefully this mission will go well" he quietly muttered to himself while putting his plates away.

Shaking the thoughts of the past away he direct his train of thought to the future with an optimistic attitude, this would no doubt help the team grow closer together or at the very least give them a distraction from each other. He approached the edge of the forest where he already saw the rest of his team around Professor Oberon.

"Looks like Im the last one to make it here, and I thought I was early." He said while scanning over his team mates.

"So is everything ready? Or we going to have to wait for something else?" He asked the Professor.

OOC: Sorry for the delay! Yesterday was my final for college so I was preoccupied by that.


Nodding to the final two that joined them, Oberon took one last puff from his cigar and proceeded to smothering it out by pressing it against his calloused hand. Flicking the remains of it away, He stood up and inspected each student before speaking. "Glad of you to join us Mr Avery" he replied simply. "With everyone here, we can go ahead and proceed with the briefing." Clasping his hands behind his back, he cleared his throat before continuing. "Today's mission is a simple escorting mission. You will be escorting me through the Emerald Forest to a small mining community about five miles away where I will be picking up an item to take back to Beacon." Pacing back and forth slowly before the students, he used it as an opportunity to look at each student as he paused to let it sink in briefly. "I'm sure each of you may find this mission a bit lacking and tedious. However, we had just received a report that the Grimm have been restless as of late and have been seen in more frequent numbers. This is why the school decided to use this as an opportunity for a first year team to help dwindle the number down." Taking another pause, he stopped his pacing and folded his arms across his chest. "You are authorized to use whatever weapons or skills you have to take down any and all Grimm that comes our way." Focusing his penetrating gaze first on Smokey and then on Mikado, he continued. "Just don't burn the forest down." Smirking slightly, he pulled another cigar out and proceeded with lighting it. "Any questions before we head out? I'd personally like to be back before dinner." Taking a deep breath, he blew out a steady stream of smoke as he arched an eyebrow, waiting for any questions they might ask.

Before the briefing, Billy shook her professor's hand, then hovered by Smokey for a bit while Mikado and Serin showed up.

As the briefing began, the first thought that went through Billy's head was, 'THIS guy needs protection? He could punch a beowolf to death.' As the briefing went on, it dawned on her that he was the teams back up. She then decided that he wouldn't need to lift a finger of his for her because she would take care of all the grim that ever got close to him and his sweet sweet beard. Billy didn't mind that this was a bit of an easy mission. She was a bit worried about how some of her teammates would get along. But she could handle them getting into a scrap if she had to. She had been practicing her semblance lasso and could make it stay solid for a minute now in case she needed to separate one before Serin could get to them.

As the briefing came to a close, Billy raised her hand. "I have a question. What are you getting from the mining town?"

A ten mile stroll through the woods?  That's it? Smokey couldn't help but be a bit disappointed.  He's carrying enough ammo to blast through several dozens of Grimm on his own, and he was kinda hoping he wouldn't have to carry all of it through the entire trip.  Not to mention he probably won't get to show off the Good News' fire power.  To be fair, a mission that required that kind of fire power probably wouldn't be handed off to first years, now that Smokey thought about it.

Smokey made a show of slowly looking toward the remains of the professor's previous cigar, then slowly turning back towards him.  He doesn't say a word, but his expression is just ever so slightly judging.  Remember kids, only you can prevent forest fires!

Jokes aside, Smokey did have a couple of questions.  "So, uh, when you say 'escort', are we supposed to treat you as a person to be protected or as a fully trained huntsman capable of defending himself?"  In other words, is the professor part of the scenario or merely the proctor?  Oberon's answer might change how Smokey responds in combat.  "Second question, and admittedly probably the dumber one: although it's incredibly unlikely, on the off-chance we encounter no Grimm, will we still pass?"

Mikado raised an eyebrow. That's it? That was all there was to the mission? Most of the Grimm that dwell in the Emerald Forest aren't indescribably strong and usually perfect for the newcomers at Beacon, but did it really need a complete team to protect someone? Especially if this someone is an already fully trained Huntsmen? He had also heard that the number of grimm has increased a bit, but why put in an escortatios mission of all that? Why not a Search and Destroy?
"So we follow you through the forest, beat the grimm, you pick up something in the town and we go back?" Mikado summed up what the professor told them about the mission just a few seconds ago, not seeming to be excited about the situation.

The mission sounded simple enough to Serin, escort the Professor and get him to the other side and back. If Grimm attacked then they would have to protect him and apparently there's a good deal of them in there. He didn't really have any questions and instead fidgeted around in place a little bit hoping to quickly accomplish this mission and get some points to his name.

Observing each member's expression, Oberon couldn't help but smirk slightly as they all seemed somewhat disappointed on how seemingly easy this mission would be. Activating his semblance, he proceeded to pin each of them so he could keep track of them. Turning to Billy first, he merely smiled at her as he pinned her with his semblance, watching her glow white in his view. "I would hate the ruin the surprise of you finding out what it could possibly be. Just know that it is related to the Academy and is of utmost importance that we bring it in. As for your question, Smokey..." he said, turning to Smokey and pinning him with the same white glow. "Yes, you will be treating me as someone to escort. I can guarantee you that there will be Grimm that you'll run into and there will be many. However, keep in mind that, should things go bad, I will intervene. This does bring up one thing: there are two ways in which you will fail this mission. First, if I deem that you are all unfit to complete the mission and have to intervene, I will not hesitate to fail your mission." Smirking again, though more wickedly this time he turned to the other two and pinned them also as he continued talking. "Second, if I get hit by any Grimm, big debris, or blast from any of your weapons, that will also dictate a fail." Taking a puff from his cigar, he savored the warmth it provided before letting out the smoke through his nostrils. "With all that said, let's proceed shall we?" With that said, he began his morning stroll down the path towards the mine with his hands clasped behind his back with no sense of urgency or peril.

Copy-pasted message from L-Money on discord: "Hey you can go next In the turn order for the initiation mission I have family coming in this week and I'm going to be entertaining them this week" and when asked if Billy should do anything in the meantime: "Have Billy follow and nod in thought."  If L-Money wants me to edit the post, let me know


Billy nods as she listens to the professor's explanation.  The fail conditions seem reasonable enough, but the professor doesn't have to worry.  Nothing's going to mar that beautiful beard, not on her watch! 

As Oberon starts to move down the path, Billy picks up her things and follows behind him.


Smokey let's out a small sigh when he learns that he has to "protect" the professor.  It's not really a big deal, it just means he can't go too far ahead.  Still, the professor seems confident that the group will be fighting quite a bit, so maybe Smokey will get a chance to show off his firepower. 

When Oberon brings up the fail conditions, Smokey pipes up, "In that case, Professor, I'd like to apologize in advance in the event that I have to shove you out of the way to get a clear shot."  Considering his choice of weaponry and his semblance, Smokey will probably act as a final line of defense.  He'd have liked to have been up front blasting his way through, but he has to consider the objective. 

Smokey finishes up loading Matchstick as the professor moves further into the forest.  Resting the revolver on his shoulder, he falls in close to the professor's right.

The fail conditions were said and with that the mission started. Since the Professors back was protected by Billy and Smokey took the part on his right, Mikado placed himself to his left, giving Serin the opportunity to stand, as the leader, up front.

With the bo in one hand and Kiro on his head, he began to walk alongside the professor. He decided to leave Kiro in his smaller form until a big enough group of Grimm shows up.

"All right let's go! " Serin enthusiastically said with a wide grin on his face, he decided to take the lead in front of his team but  just behind Professor Oberon after all, Serin had no idea where they were going so for him to take the lead just wouldn't make sense.  After a short amount of time in silence, he turned around and began walking backward in order to face his team and in the most commanding voice he could muster said,

"Okie everyone I know we've had our...differences... in the past but now we get a chance to really come together and show the world what team blossom is made of." He paused for a moment mentally finishing his little pep speech.

"Of course to be most effective we'll need to be a little organized so on that note, we need some to have some roles set up. He scanned the group creating a plan that would ideally maximize everyone's strengths and move any large sources of danger on his team away from the Professor.

" Smokey I want you in the back watching our behind, Billy I want you to watch one side and I want Mikado to watch the other, and it would be great if Kiro wants to fly around looking for Grimm that would be great. I'll take the point position for now, everyone got it?" He said before turned back around satisfied and sneaking a side glance at Oberon to see if he approved of the plan, Serin hoped that he would catch an approving glance or something along those lines since the current figure of authority.

"You may try and shove me, Smokey, but I would advise against it" Oberon replied, smirking at the lad. Watching as the others discussed their strategies and took their positions to guard him, Oberon continued to stroll through the forest and admire the scenery. He couldn't help but remember his years training to become a huntsman and all the hardships he went through with his team, particularly his teammate who became his wife. Smiling as he could still sense her from afar, he wondered if the children had awaken yet. They were the type to get up early for breakfast and so he figured his wife was busy caring for their kids.

A basic plan Oberon thought as he assessed what Serin set in place. It allowed them to easily defend him should they be attacked. However, there were some flaws to it in that they would only be focusing on their last line of defense and not have a farther area of defense. Looking at the dragon construct, he also wondered how the connection between Kiro and Mikado worked as to whether Mikado could see what Kiro sees or not. If it is the latter, then having Kiro look for Grimm would be pointless in that it wouldn't be able to say anything about what it sees nor could Mikado see it either. The holes in the plan weren't extreme, but the consequences that could happen could make or break this mission. Regardless, Oberon acknowledged the fact that at least Serin was trying his best as the team leader to keep his teammates safe as well as the goal of the mission in mind.

Before Oberon could say anything, the hair on the back of his neck prickled as he felt a sudden sensation of being watched. Looks like the Grimm are around he thought with a slight smile. We'll just have to see whether this plan works out or not. It was in that moment that a loud howl could be heard in the distance, followed by dozens of howls.

Billy nodded and kept to the right side of Professor Oberon. She scanned the forest, looking for trouble. She remembered when she had trouble once, when she had to ambush someone from back in Vaccuo. She didn't want to get ambushed for looking like they were protecting someone now.

So she piped up a little, "Are you sure we should walk like thi-" She was cut off by a howl in the distance followed by dozens of howls. "Nevermind I think this is good. I doubt people will ambush us."

Her eyes went back to the forest as did her gun. Not that she was scared or anything, she really wanted to pass.

The rear, huh?  Smokey did as Serin instructed.  He was the leader, after all.  Smokey would have preferred being closer to the front so he could get closer to the action, but he could reason why Serin would put him where he did.  Between his firepower and his semblance, Smokey was an excellent candidate for "last line of defense."  Hell, he could probably hold a flank all by himself for at least 30 seconds.  In fact, now that he thought about it...

"Hey Boss-Man, mind if I make a--" Smokey's call to Serin was cut short as the howls of Grimm cut through the forest.  "Never mind, talk later." Smokey crouched into a ready stance, the barrel of his revolver still resting on his shoulder, as his eyes scanned the trees behind them, trusting his team to handle the front.

Standard setting, huh? They at least won't have the problem of being attacked from a dead angle like this.
Mikado stayed on the professors right side and watched Billy and Smokey take their places. Unlike those the two, he hadn't much to say. The only thing he wanted to object was, how needless it would be for Kiro to scout for grimm, but the far away howls who slowly became louder and closer did not even give him the chance to open his mouth. Mikado reached for the bo on his back and pulled out the blade. Now it started to get interesting.

Serin was mildly disappointed in Profesor Oberons non-reaction but at the very least it was not a sign of disgust, he hoped. He didn't have much time to worry about the professor's acceptance of the plan before a handful of Grimm's howls disrupted the silence of the forest. 'Nows the time to test out our defense, as long as there's not too many I think we can hold it. But that did sound like a bunch of howls....' Serin thought creating a plan for both scenarios.

In preparation for the fight to come to Serin stepped out in front of Oberon while opening his arm blade up fully since there's not much use in using the crossbow in the thick of the forest."Get a ready team, remember, no harm to the professor."

Hearing the howls from afar as well as the team taking their defensive stance, Oberon smiled slightly as he took out a small notepad and jotted some notes down so he could grade them later. Being unfazed by the impending Grimm, Oberon simply stepped around Serin and continued walking onward, his face completely unfazed by the fact that he could be attacked at any moment. "By the way!" he called out, turning his head towards the four students. "I do want to be back home in time for dinner so don't expect me to stop."

It was at that moment, as Oberon had his head turned from the front of the group, that a large beowolf jumped out from the forest with its claws raised and fangs bared. Its intent was simple: attack and devour Oberon. As it that was the signal, dozens of other beowolves came growling out of the forest in hopes of ambushing their prey.

It was at this point that Billy knew that this was going to be a hard mission. Billy who had always had a bit of unease around Grimm, went into quickdraw mode. She fired two rounds into the one up ahead. Then turned to the forest and took two steps forwards before she fired one round into one more Beowolfe. As the professor started walking farther away, she decided to go close range, seeing as she felt like she can walk and hammer things at the same time with it. She ran to catch up with him readying her hammer.

"Come on!"

"Huh, is that all?  I got the back nine!" Smokey called out as he flicked a switch on his revolver.  The chamber starts spinning as 6 more barrels extend outward, and the stock slides back to rest against Smokey's shoulder.  Now with his gun in volley form, Smokey takes a few steps towards the Grimm charging from the rear and takes aim, activating his semblance at the same time.

KA-KAKOOM!

The gun speaks.  It doesn't say much, but it doesn't need to.  The group Smokey aimed at is already annihilated, the Beowolf corpses already dissipating into that black mist.  Satisfied, Smokey switches the gun back to revolver form to reload and hustles back to his position behind Professor Oberon, still keeping an eye behind him to make sure he did in fact get all the Grimm in that volley.

Mikado was already leaping forward as the beowolves chared out of the bushes from all directions. He braced his foot in the ground and threw the bo, blade first in his creature. The weapon left his hand only for a brief second, before he grabbed it with his other hand, activating the Kusarigama function. With the blade in the Beowolf, Mikado swung aside, seperating the Grimm from the blade and smashing it into another beowolf. In the same movement Mikado ducked under another Grimm, and attacked with the other blade of the Kusigama, giving the Grimm a horizontal slash from the abdomen to the head. As more of the Grimm rushed in, Mikado pulled the chain of his weapon back in and slit the remaining beowolves with a few quick movements, which then crashed to the ground behind him. The air around Mikado turned black as the grimm dissolved into black smoke.
That's it? He didn't even needed Kiro for this, but the howls he heard in the distance insured him, that there will be coming more soon.

The situation was quickly devolving from something decent to something, less than decent. The professor was going to keep walking in the middle of a battle making it much harder then it needed to be, and to make matters worse a beowolf was seconds away from causing the team to insta fail the assignment. Serin just counted his lucky stars as he sprang into action to reach the Grimm before it reached the professor and get it away. Spring forward he did manage to rather ungracefully slam his fist into the wolfs face to in order to push it away before stabbing at it with his other arm and finishing it off with a fatal slash across the back of its neck.

"You are not causing me to fail this assignment" He said as he fatally slashed the beowolf that was threating Oberon.

Watching as each student did their best to take down the oncoming wave of Grimm, Oberon continued his nonchalant stroll through the fight. Seeing the first Grimm get wiped out by both Billy and Serin's attack, Oberon smiled and kept strolling along. Not bad he thought as he continued to take note of the team's battle formation and style. Looking over his shoulder briefly, he made a note on Smokey's rather impressive firepower. Hopefully the team can hold off the next few waves he thought as it was clear that this was simply the scouts of a much larger pack.

Holding his pen and notepad in one hand, Oberon pulled his canteen out and took a sip of the still hot coffee inside. It was at that moment that a deep, loud howl echoed loudly through the forest, followed by another barrage of softer howls. Looks like the Alpha is nearby he thought, writing down again in his notepad as he continued to walk onward. Maybe it would like to come out and play he wondered as the next wave of Beowolves came out, replacing the ones that were taken down. With nothing stopping them, the ten Beowolves on the left lunged at both Billy and Oberon, their teeth and claws bared, seeking blood.

Billy didn't want to use her semblance, but to keep her professor safe she felt like she had too. She sent her lasso out to grab the closest Beowolfe to Oberon, and pull it into the other nine Beowolves lunging at them. This, in turn, knocked them off guard and into each other until they were all flying towards Billy. Billy was ready with the windup and knocked them with the hammer in their faces taking out 3 of them on the spot. Unfortunately, the 7 left were scattered and one of which was still on her lasso. So she quickly flipped her weapon back to rifle mode, stood in place, and did 7 quick shots into each of the remaining weakened Grimm. With 8 more coming behind her she had to reload fast.

Jeez, okay.  Maybe the forest really did need to be cleared out.  And they seem to be coming in waves.  Great. 

Smokey is kind of caught with his metaphorical pants down as he struggles to reload Matchstick before the group of Grimm approaching from the rear get to him.  He barely gets the last bullet in and the cylinder closed before the Beowolves are within arms reach.  Smokey switches the gun back into the volley gun from and uses it as a club to bash the closest Beowolf's skull in.  He starts to level his gun to take his next shot.

Mikado looked up from the Grimm he just killed, as more of them came through the brushwood to surround the group.
Let's get this over with, he thought to himself, as he gave Kiro, who somehow managed to stay on top of his head until now, a quick hand gesture, ordering him to attack.
The black dragon jumped off and landed on the ground, wings spread and head bowed. The now almost ten times enlarged aura creature then let out a roar, followed by an ice breath which paralyzed the Grimm infront, leaving an opening for Mikado to attack

'Damn it why are there so many here' Serin thought as he took down another just in time for a second wave of Grimm to burst out the forest and lunge at the team again. He felt lucky that the rest of the team was doing fine so he could concentrate on his little area. While the Grimm wasn't quite on him yet he swiped open his right arm into crossbow while nabbing an arrow from his quiver and loading it in. Once loaded he fired at the second furthest one. Once the arrow left his arm he moved it back into blade form while charging at the nearest Grim stabbing it and using the moment from the charge to slam the body into the next nearest Grimm.

One by one, the Beowolves slowly were taken down. However, for every beast that disintegrated, another one quickly took it's place.

As eight of the Grimm disappeared from Billy's attack, two of them survived and slowly got back up and joined the other eight that closed in. With fangs and claws bared, the first two in front lunged at Billy while she was still reloading, while the others quickly followed behind them.

Taking a heavy hit on its skull, the Beowolf crumpled and faded away from Smokey's attack. As short-lived the victory over that attack could be, the remaining seventeen closed in, with four of them swinging their claws at Smokey. The other Grimm came towards Smokey by trying to flank him on both sides.

With a frigid blast, the first three Beowolves froze solid from Kiros attack with the others partially freezing. Clawing through the ice, the others began to break through their entrapment and slowly circle around the ones that were still frozen solid.

As Serin charged through the incoming Grimm, the one he shot with his arrow faltered and fell to the ground, slowly dissolving into nothing. With the one being stabbed slowly dying off and another one pinned down, the remaining five proceeded to circle around Serin before lunging at him with fangs bared at him.

Watching all this take place, Oberon continued to make his way down the path, purposefully slowing down his pace slightly so as to at least give the first year students a fighting chance. It was at that moment that a large Ursa broke through the forest with a roar. Spotting Oberon, it clawed at the ground briefly before charging straight at the professor. "Oh no...whatever shall I do?" he responded loudly with much sarcasm dripping from the comment. Let's see what the students do now... he thought, readying his shields in the even that he has to take the hit from the Grimm.


So, to make things a little bit clearer, here's what I'm seeing right now:

Billy was torn between blocking the two Grimm or ducking when she was reloading her gun. She ended up lifting her gun and squatting at the same time as the beowolves lunged at her. Without her magazine security locked in place, she pulled her gun up with two hands to squat block the two beowolves. One of the beowolves knocked the magazine onto the ground as they bit at the gun. She swore and tried to push the beowolves away long enough to grab the magazine. It was a two-handed power struggle and the reloading prosses was its own operation. Then she was about to call out for help, but then heard the Ursa's roar.
 
She changed her grip on one of the gun so it was laying on her forearm more, and went down on one knee. The two beowolves got a few bites in on the forearm, but aura kept it from being a bad attack. She grabbed the magazine and loaded it into the gun with a quick jab. Then Billy kicked at the beowolves feet until they were unsteady and fell off her gun.

Billy ran a few feet towards her professor to catch up. She then stopped and quickly shot a bullet into one of each of the ten beowolves attacking from the right.

Great.  Smokey finally got his gun reloaded and the Beowolves are splitting up.  Why do Grimm never cooperate?

Smokey was forced to change tactics, and started shifting Matchstick back into revolver form while backpedaling to buy just a little bit more time.  He reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a red cartridge, which he barely managed to load into his gun before the front four Beowolves were upon him.  Smokey only had time to raise his arm above his head before their claws came down and--

The claws stopped.  The creatures' fierce attacks had apparently lost all momentum upon coming into contact with Smokey's arm.  Here, four Beowolves were pressing down with all their might, but this shorty looked about as lackadaisical as if he were shielding his eyes from the sun.  "Ow.  That almost hurt," Smokey dryly said before he raised Matchstick and fired 3 times, once at the group right in front of him, and once at each group of Grimm at his flank, aiming at the largest mass of black he could see.

Semblance: ACTIVATED! 20 SECONDS REMAINING

While Kiro continued to make sure that none of the Grimm came too close to Mikado, he switched from his Bo to the Kusarigama again.

The blade flew through the crowd of Grimms, dragging some of the creatures with it, then crashing them into more Grimm and throwing them to the ground. That was not enough to kill them, but it gave him enough time to focus on the standing Grimm.
He threw the weighted end of the Kusarigama around one of the Grimm's arm and before he knew what was going on Mikado had already sunk the blade in his head. He repeated the process until about 8 more Grimm or so were dead on the ground. During this time, the previously knocked over grimm had stood up again and attacked. While Kiro slowed most of them down, some managed to go straight for the attack.
Mikado jumped back to build up some distance, but still got some scratches on his arm. From his new position he fired several shots from the shotgun barrel at the weighted end of the Kusarigama into the heads of the approaching Beowolves.

Serins luck had ended now as proven by him now being tackled by 5 Beowolves at once, it was a less than ideal situation for him and his close-range more singular fighting style. In the interest of not dying he quickly rolled over with the Grim that he had on the end of his blade placing himself on his back, he used the one Grimm that he rolled along with block two of the Grimm to his left, with two more being behind him and one right on his feet. He kicked the one on his feet to keep it away but he could do nothing against the two that were behind him being forced to take two bites to his back, in retaliation for this injustice he slashed the throats of those two Grimms with his one free arm while pulling his other arm out of the now dead beowolf and using that arm to spring himself back up into a standing position. Serins new stance gave him a much clearer view of the battlefield and the Ursa which had romped out in front of the professor causing even more issues for the mission.

With seconds to act Serin activated his semblance placing a line of four puppets between Oberon and the Ursa having them mimic his own movements of grabbing a distraction bolt and throwing it while simultaneously giving off a loud a yell as possible towards the Grimm in front of him(which would be amplified three times by the puppets) to blind that one and ideally the remaining two while also making it look like his puppets were throwing something of their own at the Ursa.
