Title: The Dorm-Ant Volcano [VCVS]
Post by: Zwei Not on September 18, 2016, 01:14:04 PM
The first thing that Juno noticed was that the first year dorms were a lot bigger than he had expected. Most of the dorms back in Atlas had just enough room for a team, and all the students on that floor had to share a bathroom. This dorm had the expected four beds, but also had a kitchen and a bathroom. A small smile crept upon his face as he laid his bags down next to the bed in the far left corner of the room, then gracelessly flopped down onto the bed himself.

He'd made it to Beacon. And as the head of his own team, to boot.

Initiation had been exhausting, and while he had expected to fight hordes of Grimm, keeping track of the suit as well as three other incredibly talented fighters was going to take some getting used to. Samuel lived up to the expectations Juno had set when he saw him spar with Violet, and Verdant was a damn good archer if he ever saw one. And Caja... She was quick. Both on her feet and on the trigger. He'd need to work to keep up with the rest of Vesuvius.

But now, they could all use a little rest. Classes didn't start for a few days, and they could use some time to get to know each other. Well, that or drive each other up the wall.

Upon opening the door to her new home for the next four years, Caja's eyes quickly focused upon the familiar face, her team-leader and friend, Juno Vert. "Oh, seems I'm not the first one here then." She commented, hauling her military-style backpack in through the door and setting it down by the bed next to Juno's own.

"So, uh... Big rooms, right?" The girl stated, trying to make small talk with the green-haired teen. Despite currently being in a developing relationship with Juno, Caja still found it difficult to keep a conversation going with him, but that was mostly down to Caja not really having anything interesting to say. "This is much bigger than my old bedroom... It's close to being as big as my old house." She added, her head turning in all directions as she looked around the room, taking in all the small and large details.

Verdant walked into the room after Caja and was surprised by how nice the dorm was, he looked at Caja "Yea, this is very nice, much better than bad lands." remarked Verdant. Verdant looked at Juno "Well you have already made your self at home." said Verdant with a smirk.

Lagging behind the rest, Samuel shuffled into the room, lazily looking about. "Huh. Not bad." He murmured quietly to himself, his one visible eye glancing around the room and taking in its layout. Slinking around past the two in front of him, he walked over to one of the beds by the window, placing his shoulder-bag next to it.

The initiation had gone decently. He'd gotten a brief overview of his team's personalities and fighting styles, enough to satisfy him for now, and some combat experience. Both of which would likely prove invaluable in the future. Not getting too involved with the small talk around him, Samuel tapped his headphones a few times, changing the song over.

It was... a somewhat awkward arrangement for him. He wasn't particularly used to living with other people constantly, let alone those he'd only just met. Stretching out his arms, he gave a small noise somewhere between a sigh an a yawn, resting against the wall.

"Well, it's a nice room and we kicked enough ass to warrant this. Imma chill." he replied, opening one eye to glance at Verdant. "Besides, we have time to settle in. Might as well use it."

Letting out a light yawn, Juno sat up to look at the trio before him. Samuel seemed to be off in his own world, so that would presumably be easier to live with. Verdant and Caja, though... He didn't know how they used to live. Caja remarked about the larger accommodations, but he didn't know if the two were messy or tidy, how much responsibility for housekeeping they would take... He was hoping he wouldn't have to play both team leader and mom.

As Verdant and Sam both entered the room after her, Caja gave a greeting wave to each of them, accompanied by a small smile. Despite her outwardly welcoming appearance, Caja began to feel uneasy, she still wasn't comfortable or accustomed to living with other faunus, and she had her suspicions that Sam was one. Despite her suspicions, she wasn't one hundred percent certain, so she still had hope that the rest of her team was human. once both boys were settled into the room somewhat, the canine faunus' smile reappearing as she welcomed the pair. "Hi Verdant, hi Sam." She called out, her eyes focused on Sam as he sat apart from the trio.

After staring at the pale-haired teen for an extended moment, Caja turned back to Juno and used her semblance to teleport onto the bed beside him, her arm wrapping around his shoulder as she did so. "So, Juno, how are you doing?" She asked, staring up at the boy while she awaited an answer.

Verdant looked at Caja and Juno cuddling and then looked to Samual who was trying to close himself off from the world. Verdant decided that his team didn't want to talk to him right and he decided that he would go into kitchen make himself some food.

Samuel gave a brief wave of acknowledgement over at Caja, still mostly in his own thoughts.'Wonder when my tinkering stuff and instruments will get sent over. Too big to carry around with me. The guy at the Dust shop said I could store it there as long as I help out occasionally...'

At the sudden shift in position of Caja, his arm gave a brief twitch of surprise. He'd seen the move already, but it still made him slightly uncomfortable when there was a burst of sudden movement. Luckily he didn't react quite as badly to it as he used to when he was younger - his chains were still on his person and hadn't tried to whack whatever moved so fast. Talking of said chains...

Holding his arms out, the four metal links unwound themselves from his natural limbs, slowly dropping their tips to the floor with quiet clanks. It wasn't like they were any kind of secret, but it was awkward having them actively moving when around others - but this was supposed to be his team, so Samuel guessed that he may as well try to get used to it. Stretching his arms again, the chains wavered slightly through the air, as if testing their weight for a moment, before dropping back to the floor. 'Damn, it feels better to get to stretch these out for a bit.'

"I'm alright. Just... Tired, is all." Juno replied as he looked over at Samuel, who was still off in his own world. Verdant's decision to move to the kitchen piqued some interest from the team leader, but that interest was soon lost as Caja edged even closer to him on the bed. He liked her a lot, yes, but she had a habit of... Clingyness. "Why don't you introduce yourself to someone? We're gonna live with these people for the next four years. You might as well get to know them." Juno suggested with a kid smile and an affectionate pat to the girl's head.

Omicron, however, was more interested in whatever Samuel was listening to than anything else going on in the room. Taking a moment to tap into the cyborg faunus' scroll, the AI gave a listen, only to decide he didn't quite like what he was hearing. A devious thought came to him, however, prompting a devilish grin to appear on his face as he suddenly switched the track on Samuel's phone to something more to his liking. Caja smiled in return as Sam waved at her, glad the teen was showing at least some level of involvement and communication. As Samuel's chains began to move of their own accord, the fuanus' azure eyes followed them around the room, still intrigued and perplexed by how the objects freely moved about, like long, metallic snakes attached to the teen. After a few minutes of staring, the blonde broke eye contact with Sam's chains and looked around to find that Verdant was missing, but she soon realised that he was merely in the kitchen.

Juno's suggestion to introduce herself left Caja with a decision; Verdant or Sam. Eventually, after a brief moment of hesitation, Caja settled on introducing herself to Verdant, Sam appeared to prefer to keep to himself, and she didn't wish to purposely disturb his current situation. "Sure, Juno. Why don't you nap if you're tired?" The girl suggested as she got up and made her way to the kitchen, standing in the doorway while she watched her team member. "Verdant, right?" She questioned, unsure of how to start a conversation between the two.

Verdant was looking through the cabinets looking at what he had to for cooking. Where was the grill he thought? He had never cooked for himself until he had to live in the badlands. By that time all he had to cook with were fires he made himself. So he was a little new to the home cooking thing. He heard "Verdant, right?" and he turned around to see Caja standing in the doorway for the kitchen. He responded to her question "Yep that's my name, we haven't really talked much have we?" He said closing the cabinets as he turned around.

Finally getting some time to relax after the journey and initiation (despite the other people in the room, but you can't have everything your own way), Samuel closed his visible eye, listening to the gentle theme (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOugNdlTwn4) playing through his headphones. It was nice to get some time to wind dow-

There was a short pause in Samuel's actions at the sudden change in music. A number of seconds passed, before there was a noticeable twitch in his eyebrow. That was... a little bit irritating, he wasn't going to lie. Head slowly turning back to the main portion of the room and voice tinted slightly with annoyance, Samuel asked "Alright... while I don't exactly mind the music itself, can whoever did that preferably not change it without asking? Thanks." Grumbling quietly, he proceeded to try and change the track back to what it was before, tapping away at the headset.

Juno was just about to settle in for a light nap when Samuel called out to the rest of the room. The team leader hadn't done anything, and Caja and Verdant were in the kitchen. That could only mean that Omicron had been messing with Samuel's gear. While he didn't condone the act, at the very least, it got Samuel talking to the group.

Omicron, however, did his best not to giggle as he came up with another way to mess with the cyborg Faunus. Slowly and gradually turning down the volume of the teen's headset, the AI eventually began to speak. "Hey. Samuel. It's your conscience. We haven't spoken in a while."

As Verdant turned to the girl and confirmed that her guess was correct, Caja merely smiled at him before leading her weight against the door frame behind her, relaxing as she engaged in conversation with the boy. "Ah, right, I'll try and remember it for next time. I'm Caja by the way, not sure if you got that earlier." She replied, making a mental note of the teen's name. "Yeah, we haven't... We may as well make up for it then and get to know each other now." The girl added, finishing her sentence with a small smile.

Verdant turned around to look back the cabinets where the pots and pans were. Unable to find what he was looking for he gestured for Caja to come over and help him. "Do you know where the grill is in this place?" Verdant asked with confusion in his voice.

Giving a slight sigh at the change back to his preferred music, Samuel leaned back against the wall again, trying to relax. However, the music slowly ebbed away, leaving him somewhat confused. Had it been damaged by whoever messed around with them? The lack of music gives way to the noises from around him, and the teen winces slightly at the noise. He'd avoided his stronger painkillers so he'd be alert in the initiation - so they were starting to wear off a bit, and the lack of soothing noise left him a little disorientated.

"Hey. Samuel. It's your conscience. We haven't spoken in a while." Samuel can't help but snort lightly in amusement at the voice. It was fairly obvious that it wasn't quite a voice in his head - after all, he'd already been through that phase and done that - but it was a pretty good way to mess with someone. He weren't quite sure who was behind the headphone ghost, but you had some suspicions. "Yea, sure thing. Where you been for the last ten years?" He questioned, slight grin on his face, before Samuel reached into his bag again to find his medical pack. He wouldn't take away the mysterious voice's fun, not that much of a joykill, but he did need to stop himself getting a migraine.

"Lost with your taste in music and color, apparently. You need more George Mahogany and Dust, Air & Fire in your life. Also, dude. Grey is soooo Bergenstahl. You're in Vale! Live a little!" Omicron exclaimed, doing his best to suppress a giggle. Yes, Samuel seemed to be the antisocial sort, but Omicron just wanted a bit of fun.

In the meantime, Juno had just begun to settle down for a nap, relaxing against the cool fabric of the bed. He could certainly get used to living here, so long as he didn't have to play mom. But these people were on the out in regards to being teenagers. They were responsible enough to  handle themselves, right?

As Verdant turned away from her and went back to looking in the cupboards, Caja's smile faded, feeling like she was being ignored, however, the faunus girl's smile soon returned upon her lips as the team mate gestured for her to come over to him, which she did without hesitation. The question caused Caja some confusion too, this was the first time she had ever seen the kitchen, but after a brief moment of looking around the room, her blue eyes spotted something. "yeah, this thing." She pointed out, reaching towards the oven and pulling down on a handle, which revealed a small grill hidden behind the oven door.

A smile broke across Verdant's face "Oh great this just what I need, now we just need some steaks and we can get a good meal going." Verdant stopped looking at the grill and then turned to Caja. "But enough abot that what's up with you and Juno, you two seem to be well aqainted." Verdant stated with a smile.

"I'll have you know grey is a great colour." Samuel stated, still rummaging around in his bag. "Doesn't hurt the eyes, goes with most things... list goes on. And I listen to different musics, just that- hang on a sec." Reaching the medicine bag, he opened it up, searching through before finding the pill he was looking for and quickly swallowing it, a slight fizzing sound in his mouth for a second.

Giving a slight sigh of relief as the medicine hit his senses, he laid back against the wall again. "As I was saying, just like to chill out with some of the more relaxing tunes on my playlist y'know? Give the ol' ears a rest or something like that."

"But grey is booooriiiiiing. It's too neutral, lacking in personality. You have some semblance of personality, right?" Omicron inquired as he took form in front of the teen, his vibrant purple avatar sitting on thin air.

"Give it a rest, Omi." Juno called form the other side of the room, having been stirred by Omicron's less than quiet speaking. "If Sam needs his space, we should let him have it.

As Verdant suggested the idea of steaks for dinner, Caja gave him a small smile in response, silently supporting and encouraging the idea. The next question wasn't answered with a smile however, as Caja paused for thought slightly before answering. "Yeah... Well... We're sorta in a relationship, I'm his girlfriend." The teen answered, her tone clearly less confident than usual. "So don't get any ideas." She added, smirking as she did so.

Verdant smiled back her response to steak but didn't turn around and kept smiling at her second answer. "I could tell that you two are in a relationship and I would never get between you two, however, I meant to ask how did you two meet." Verdant Remarked with a smirk.

Samuel rose an eyebrow, looking at the figure in front of him. "Well, so some people say. Each to their own and all that. And if I didn't have a personality I wouldn't like grey in the first place, would I?" He questioned, giving a light smile at the amusing conversation. He waved off Juno, chain following the movements of the hand. "Mah, mah, it's fine." His grin faltered for a moment when he noticed the extra limb movement, and he frowned for a bit before turning back to the avatar.
