Title: Blaine Ironwood
Post by: Blaine on September 19, 2016, 03:48:46 PM
CHARACTER

Name: Blaine Ironwood

Age: 18

Species and Gender: Male Tiger Faunus

Symbol: A faded tiger's head with three claw marks run through it

Occupation: First year student at Beacon

Appearance: Blaine is about 1.80m tall but has pretty wide shoulders to compensate for his not so stellar height, weighing in at about 86 kilograms. His hair is combed back, it is mostly white and has several small and randomly placed black streaks in it. He wears a sleeveless white hoodie with a dark-blue T-shirt underneath. His pants of choice is regular denim. He wears sneakers as he finds them the most comfortable. His tail is a whirl of black and white.

History: This young faunus hadn't always been part of Atlas, not entirely. Hailing from a village just outside of Atlas's least naturally defended border, Blaine was found after his entire village was slaughtered by Grimm. Wrapped in a yellow blanket that concealed his multitude of faunus traits, scouting soldiers found the boy crying underneath a pile of wood and metal. Appropriately named after the ancient word for yellow, 'blaan', and the conditions in which he was found, Blaine was raised without an actual guardian to take care of him. Given a room in the Academy of Atlas, he was taken care of by Atlas staff in an attempt to use him to better the relationship between Faunus and Humans. Groomed by a certain PR manager to become the face of the Atlas military and the human-faunus relationship in Atlas, Blaine knows much about formal meetings and how to act in public, yet has no clue on how to make friends or what is appropriate in friendly situations as the only 'friends' he has was the staff that cleaned his room and cooked his meals for him. As he turned 18 he knew that he now had the choice to do whatever he wanted with his life and he chose to become a defender of the people, instead of an entertainer through movies and commercials and interviews. Opting not go to Atlas' strict academy, he decided to venture out to Vale and attend Beacon instead, where he'd have more freedom.

Personality: Blaine is incredibly outgoing whilst being incredibly oblivious and socially awkward. He learned to be confident but he never learned how to socialize with others. He knows no shame and lives without regret, knowing that life goes on and the past won't change. He is overconfident in a lot of things, including his fighting ability and his flirting skills. He is the kind of person that would die for his friends (if he had any) and is relentless to his enemies. As a tiger faunus, Blaine considers himself the Alpha male in all situations, taking a leading role even when he shouldn't but accepting criticism and learning from it nonetheless.

Aura and Semblance: His aura is a bright white. His semblance is 'Feral Instincts'. Having huge ties with his faunus heritage, Blaine's semblance completely resembles this. If he focussed, like a tiger stalking his prey, he is able to enhance one of his senses greatly. Hearing through walls or eavesdropping on conversations is suddenly extremely easy. The only backdraw is that he has never been trained in Aura control and thus needs to remain completely still to use this ability.

Combat Behavior: Having only been practicing for a year, Blaine knows little more than parrying and slicing. Using his weapons to enhance his natural speed Blaine is usually the one to try and hit first, he will have to learn to work as a team if he wants to be succesful as a huntsman. What he lacks in skill and combat knowledge, he makes up for brute strength, speed and endurance.

WEAPON

Name: War and Famine

Primary Form: Two pretty long knives that have two blades with no extra benefit, Blaine never fights using this form as it is used mainly for storage purposes.

Secondary Form: Warglaive. War and Famine are Dual Bladed Sniper Warglaives (DBSW). Each of the weapons have two blades on each end that are equal in length. In the middle of the two blades is open space but if you get closer to the middle of the weapon there is an opening positioned in such a way that it always follows the way that Blaine strikes. There are two openings on each side of the weapon, allowed Blaine to shoot both backwards and forwards. As the weapons expand from knife to glaive, the handle that he held when it was a knife gains three extra uses. It is a lever used to reload the gun in the middle of the two blades on each end of the glaive. This attribute only activates when either gun has been fired and remains as sturdy as ever if not. On the butt of the handle is a moveable circle, a dust canister. Spinning this small circle will change whatever type of dust is fired from the glaives, there is only space for two types however. The third attribute is a pair of buttons that can be used to fire the guns, one button for the front gun (mainly used for long range combat) and the other button for the back gun (mainly used for propelling using gravity dust). Underneath is a picture of what the general look of his weapons are, but they are much cleaner, having a curved edge with tips at the end which can be used for stabbing.

Tertiary Form: N/A

Dust Functions: A rotating dust canister is found within the handle, it can house two types of dust. Blaine usually uses fire dust to shoot at his enemies and gravity dust to propel himself in the wanted direction.

History: Knowing he wanted to become a huntsman, Blaine first thought of using claws to enhance his feral fighting style even more. He soon realized he had a severe lack of speed and range to use these to their full potential. He settled on a slightly longer weapon, that also had long range possibilities and helped him move around the battlefield faster. How did he acquire them? Well, if you spend your entire life modelling and playing small to large parts in movies starting the moment you could talk, bribing the best weaponsmith in Atlas to make the glaives his primary project was not a huge hassle.

So, I'm terribly sorry about this. Apparently when we were transferring all of the posts over, some got... lost. Or at least, some parts. Including the part where it's stated that canon characters do not exist in this universe. Completely our fault, and it has been corrected.

You're going to want to click the "modify" button on the top right of the post. Then you're going to want to change what the original post was to what you posted just above.

Sorry for the late reply. Bust few days. A couple things, mention what kind of faunus he is. Dog? Cat? Other? Also, the formatting got erased, so you'll need to redo that. Other than that, it seems like he's pretty.... Underskilled.... To be accepted into Beacon. Unless I missed something.

Everything should be fixed now, some info got lost in the modification. While yes, he barely qualified for Beacon and he only got in because of his high strength and speed, he doesn't have any problem beating someone equally skilled or some lesser grim due to the fact that he just is naturally stronger and faster than most humans because of his Faunus heritage. When it comes to skill however, if someone is smart enough to not fight him on his terms (a battle of strength and speed) but rather beat him by blocking or dodging his predictable blows, Blaine doesn't offer much more because of his low combat experience.
