At the Beacon airship docks, Marigold and Stella sat on the steps with the latter's dark grey airship behind them, awaiting the arrival of the others.
"So, you think they're coming?"
"Yes, I'm sure they will. Anyways, I'm not making any demands, but could you perhaps act... nicer to them?"
Stella looked at Marigold for a moment. "You gave them a later time so you could tell me that."
"Guilty."
Pausing for a moment, she said, "Camellia is fine. Asako and her get along quite well. As for the other one. Nathan. The information Asako retrieved makes him sound fairly useful for what we'll be working on. I hope he's one of those awkward types. That'll be entertaining. Sure. Why not."
"Thank you, Stella."

Nathan turned the corner, strolling at his usual pace instead of using Ergia, because that was for urgent matters. The airship had finally arrived. As usual, he'd been far too early. He wondered what Marigold wanted - after all, he'd been in the middle of playing his favorite game, ALO. 'T was a weird one, mostly due to the hardware, but it was incredibly fun.
As he neared the docks, he saw two small-ish figures sitting on stairs leading to a dark grey airship. He easily recognized Marigold, but failed to perform the same task on the person accompanying her - from what he could tell, a black-haired girl about their age. When he was certain he had caught the blonde lass' attention, he waved to her.

Standing up, Marigold waved back to Nathan. Meanwhile another girl, Camellia, had skipped passed Nathan up to them. "Hihi!"

Nathan arrived shortly after Camellia, a small smile appearing on his face. "Hey Mari!", and generally acknowledged the others' presence with curt nods.

"Hey! Camellia! Nathan! So glad to see you two!"
Stella stood up and stuck out her hand to Nathan. "Stella Chartreuse."
"And I'm Camellia!"

Nathan answered the presentations with a simple "Pleasure." before turning back to Marigold.
"So, why am I here?", he asked as he crossed his arms.

"Ah yes, I would like the assistance from the three of you on some tech-related issues. An energy source and a weapon, to be precise."
Meanwhile, a holographic ring appeared around Stella and a voice came out. "nathan67003"
"Yes, Asako?"
"I ran his name and his age and returned a result from ALO's account directory. He was online just a few moments ago. Nathan. We apologize for interrupting with your day. Even if you decide not to help us, you will be compensated for your time with one million Cash Shop credits. Untradeable of course."
Meanwhile, Camellia had already strapped herself into one of the seats lining the airship walls.

Nathan had been about to ask what Marigold was planning on using those techs for when, after a holo-like ring appeared around Stella, something spoke his in-game name out loud. His thoughts ground to a halt as he stared at the fluctuating waveform.
What.
Shaking it off after a few seconds, he managed to press out "...Thhaaaanks, but I don't think that'll be necessary. Whoever you are. With access to the ALO -" Oh. Oooooooooh. So that AI's probably part of Prometheus Labs. Hopefully. It's better than a hacker. Snapping out of it again, he turned to his blonde friend as he moved towards the airship, taking Ergia out of its harness and putting it onto his lap while he plopped into the nearest available seat. "And on that bombshell, what exactly do you plan to do with the techs that could solve the issues?"

Stella entered the ship and sat next to Nathan as Marigold sat across from him, next to Camellia.
"We'll be discussing this at Stella's timeshare on Floor 77 of the Littorio Hotel. All the presentation materials are set up there."
Seeing Nathan strap himself in, Stella said, "So, it seems you're interested then?"
"I am!"

Nathan nodded in assent at Marigold's statement and, before answering Stella's question, couldn't help but crack a grin at Camellia's overjoyed response. "Sure, why not. I don't even know what this is about yet, might as well check it out."

As the door closed and the airship began ascending and the nacelles tilted, Stella said, "Just one more thing. Can you handle going hypersonic?"

Nathan's smile widened slightly, into an ever so lightly predatory one. "Can you handle halfway supersonic out of the airship?"

Without answering, the airship activated on full power and they were suddenly streaking through the skies. After about a minute, the plane slowed down and performed a wide turn before descending vertically. As it touched down, Marigold shook her head and got out. "Oof. Still haven't fully gotten used to that yet."
"Yeah, well be thankful I've implemented gravity dust to ease the G-force or you'd be vomiting all over the place."
Camellia unbuckled herself, perfectly fine and hopped out of the airship to gaze upon the large building in front of them. "Woaaah..."

Nathan followed Camellia's lead, barely disturbed by the whole ordeal, and stepped outside. His eyebrows rose a few millimiters as he said "Yyyyep."

Looking over the hotel, Camellia said after quickly counting the floors, "Wait... Floor 77? Isn't that at the top?"
"Yup. About 70% of this building is Prometheus so I partially own it. Now then, come on, let's go."
Marigold said before following her, "Alright, thank you for allowing us to borrow your place, Stella."
Pausing for a moment, Stella said, "It's no problem" before continuing into the enormous lobby.

"Mhmmm," Stella said before stopping and calling an elevator. The door opened immediately and she gestured them in.
Marigold stepped into the elevator, holding the open door button as they got in.

Nathan made sure to walk in last out of pure gentlemanness, nodded a thank you with a smile at Marigold as he went past and went to the back of the elevator, turning around once he'd reached it.

Pressing the button for floor 77, the elevator went up, Stella intimately feeling them with her fingers.
Noticing, Camellia said to Nathan, "Oh yeah, Stella has an elevator button fetish, don't mind that."
After a moment, the doors opened and they exited.

At Camellia's affirmation, Nathan's brows furrowed slightly."...Kay then. To each their own, I guess." Uncrossing his arms, he followed the girls out of the elevator.

Walking out of the elevator, Stella walked down the hallway before stopping in front of a door. "Take of your shoes." She grabbed the doorknob as it instantly scanned her aura and she walked in, taking of her shoes and placing them against the wall. Marigold and Camellia followed suite and entered the large living space.
"OOH! BED!!!" Immediately running into the room on the left, Camellia dove onto it and began bouncing on it.

Nathan walked after the girls, removed his running shoes before entering and laid them besides the others'. Grinning at Camellia's excitation over the existence of a cloth-covered matress, he briefly looked around as he slowly walked into the main space. "Lavish."

Walking to the bar area and reaching into the cupboard, Stella took out a tray and two wine glasses, then opened a bottle of wine before pouring into them. She then took out a pint glass and poured apple cider into it. As she did this, she looked at Nathan and asked, "Is there anything I can offer you? Wine? Soda? Tea?"

Nathan leaned onto the bar, still distracted as he attempted to register everything about the decoration and layout. It combined straight lines in a myriad of interesting ways. He barely registered Stella's question but managed to snap out of it, turning to her as he did. "Uhh, sure, soda, thanks." It was only after he said it that he realized he had failed one of the most basic rules of being polite; he should've politely declined the offer, pretending to not want to be a burden. But no sir, he apparently preferred to take full advantage of the founder of Prometheus Labs. His ears became almost imperceptibly tinged with a red hue.

Nodding, Stella took out another pint glass, filling it halfway with ice cubes, pouring a golden colored liquid into it from a glass bottle that read "Eigeldinger Ginger Ale". Handing it to Nathan, she took a metal bucket filled halfway with ice before sticking the three bottles in. "Camellia! Drinks are ready!"
Camellia's voice came from the room. "Okay! Coming!" she said before running back out and taking her drink.
Taking her glass and swirling it a few times, Marigold took a sip. "Cortot Rouge, aged for 147 years, 8 months, 17 days, 14 hours, 33 minutes, and 14 seconds. Niiice." She held out her glass.
"It was supposed to be 14.8 seconds actually. Eh, I got it close enough." Stella bumped her glass against Marigold's before they both took a sip. "So we're all set. Let's head on into the meeting room."
Nodding, Marigold summoned a clone which picked up the pail and carried it into the room on the right as the others followed. Grabbing a small stand from the meeting room bar, it wheeled it over and put the pail in before bowing its head and dissipating into golden particles.

Nathan took a sip of his drink, then a gulp, then another gulp and was only able to stop after the third. Keeping his question for a time where there was a pause, he listened to the small chit-chat. He somehow doubted Marigold was capable of estimating the age of a wine to that level of precision through taste alone. That, or her tastebuds were genuinely superhuman.
As everyone got up, so did he, following the girls into the meeting room and briefly glancing at Marigold's clone a few times. When they were all sat, he popped his question. "By the way, what the heck is this? It's not the ginger ale I'm use to." Then Mari's clone pulled off a bow before vanished. "And while I'm at it: Mari, your clones are surprisingly... polite."

Rolling her seat back, Marigold took the bottle out of the ice bucket and read the label. "Eigeldinger Ginger Ale." Looking up at Stella while putting the bottle back in, she said, "Great taste, as always." She scooted back in and took another sip of her wine.
"Guess you can save me some explaining then?"
"Of course." Looking back at Nathan, she said, "Eigeldinger Ginger Ale is made only at a small village withing Mistral that has the perfect year-round temperature for growing ginger in. It is then aged for four years in oak barrels. Bottles are not really well-known throughout the population. One, because they're are imported directly upon requests of the consumers, and two, well, including no artificial ingredients yet attaining a much more robust flavor than the mainstream brands can get quite pricey."
"Oh it's perfectly fine though. At the end of every season, I trade out their remaining stock with my wines and give them to employees that do a good job to take home. Even so, I still end up with quite a few extra so I serve them during parties at my main house. Speaking of which, next one is in 9 days and starts at 14 o' clock. You're invited and if you're coming, bring up to four guests only, I don't want too many freeloaders."
Downing half her drink, then intently paying attention to the two while slowly rocking her body to the side, Camellia then said, "As for Marigold's clones, they always just do that when being dismissed. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's cause she's like that?"

Nathan, after listening to Stella and Marigold's explanations, stared blankly at his mug of super-awesome ginger ale. Now he felt kinda guilty, event though the very owner of the damn thing had just assured him it was nothing at all. A slight red tinge crept down from the top of his ears. He however managed to keep listening as Stella continued onto another subject. "Well, uhh, thanks for the ginger ale, I guess, but for the party, I'm not really one to enjoy those with upwards of, say, twelve people, so unless I somehow get dragged along by Maidens know who, I'll probably skip the invitation. Thanks for the consideration, though."
