Amethyst is a woman with waist-length pale purple hair, light skin, and violet eyes. She is 168 cm tall and weighs 54 kg. Due to liking dark colors, especially since they match her aura color and physical features, Amethyst wears clothing consisting of two tones of purple, mainly a dark shade close to black along with violet decorations. For her teaching and combat attire, she wears a short dress along with a tailcoat of similar design over with cold-shoulder bell sleeves that has an open front and goes up her back, ending in a piece of cloth going around her neck. Her symbol is on the back of her coat. She also has a red crystal hanging down the front and long boots that stop above her knees along with lighter purple stockings. Finally, she wears a black lotus decoration on the right side of her hair with multiple strings hanging down.

History: Amethyst has the heritage of an assassin's guild that was formed from the mercenary group 'Black Legion' after they were forced to disband by the Mistralian government upon being linked to the death of a council member. While having a slightly skewed, but still a present sense of morality, the council member being a corrupt one, along with being extremely skilled, they didn't have very good business as they didn't accept jobs to kill anybody they didn't believe deserved to be killed, which was most of them. Very quickly, clients stopped going to them altogether. Without the resources to sustain itself, the guild declined and its members started offering their services to any client, no matter the target. These members included her father, the leader of the guild. While pregnant with Amethyst, her mother, believing the man she married had changed far too much, contacted the Mistralian government in secret with information linking the guild to a few high-profile murders. Immediately going out and eliminating the guild's members, Amethyst's mother gave a full confession of having been involved in a few of these murders and was imprisoned for life soon after giving birth. Meanwhile Amethyst was placed in the custody of a kind huntsman, also the man who dealt the killing blow to her father even as his teammates including his wife were badly injured by the assassin guild's leader.

Wanting to become a huntress like a lot of other children whose parents were in that field, she asked her family to train her before she started Sanctum. They refused though, because they knew that having a legitimate instructor teach her would be best. However, being the stubborn as hell child she was, Amethyst believed that she could teach herself spearplay using resources from the library and a broomstick. When it finally came time to attend Sanctum Academy though, while possessing good physical conditioning, not only did she have a few of misconceptions about using a spear, she had also developed numerous bad habits. Luckily for her though, she had an instructor who helped her get rid of them in a short amount of time. Another problem she ran into was that due to the Mistralians' idolizing views on aura, her dark-toned aura unnerved others, but this didn't stop her from making friends due to how kind she was towards everyone around her. Eventually, after much work and unwavering dedication with her instructor, she won the Mistral Regional Tournament during her final year and went to Haven, gaining some respect from her peers.

At Haven, Amethyst became leader of her own team named ARGR, pronounced Argyre. Living a relatively pleasant student life, practicing with the same dedication and vigor, this all ended during her fourth year when the wall broke. Her team had been relaxing at a cafe in town when the sirens sounded. Amid the panic and confusion, Amethyst was able to put together a team strategy while fending the creatures off with a chain she picked up. Once their lockers arrived with their weapons, they fought their way through the city, Amethyst using her semblance as much as she could, devouring the Grimm and restoring others with her leftover bats along with two of her teammates that both possessed healing semblances. For the rest of the Longest Winter, she made frequent attacks on Grimm whenever she was able in order to keep the aura levels of everyone up and gathered resources for the others to use from the Agricultural District while searching for survivors. Eventually as they rallied their forces and pushed back the Grimm, she continued to do what she was doing while the others cleared out and occupied the east islands. As the cataclysmic event ended and the headmaster was replaced, she finally graduated while receiving various honors for her efforts during that time. While her teammates went on to become huntresses, she received an offer to fill in the Team Strategy teaching position after the previous professor retired due to old age right after the Longest Winter.

Accepting, she went on to teach for 10 years and still continues to do so.

Personality: Always patient, Amethyst seldom gets frustrated with anything, taking as many lessons as she can from mistakes to help others or herself improve. Always kind, Amethyst loves helping others whenever she can, but knowing when to stop so they don't start depending on her. She's the type of teacher who rounds up any grade with a decimal over .5%, is able to speak and listen to others extremely well, and is passionate and dedicated to her job.

Amethyst also always likes to stay clean and organized. At least once daily, she sweeps the floor, cleans the whiteboard, and checks to see if all her files are organized. At least once weekly, she scrubs the floor with hot, soapy water and wipes down surfaces. For consequences, she makes students scrape gum off from the bottoms of desks, a section of a row instead of a detention so that they can get out significantly faster while still receiving what she considers an equal punishment. During said consequence, if a student's team members didn't get in trouble but offers to help them out, she secretly gives them extra credit.

Amethyst is also artistic, and at one point in her life, was even contemplating a career in that field instead before she was reminded of why she chose the path of a huntress when the wall broke. In her free time, she enjoys watercolor painting and is also adept at plating food to make it look nice, although amateur at actually making it.

Aura and Semblance: Aura: Darkness
Semblance: Vampire - Over the course of one second, Amethyst is able to shift into a dense, dark cloud at the center of a colony of bats, the amount being her aura percentage, and travel in that form, including limited flight capabilities. Each bat is composed of black shadowy mass surrounded by a purple glow along with a single white glowing orb where its eye is. She can then attack by having the bats claw or bite at the target. Every four attacks by any bat causes another to spawn. These spawned bats are also part of her aura, thus giving her more aura prior to semblance use upon return to her original form. As such though, every bat that is killed removes 1% aura from Amethyst. Bats left over after she reaches 100% simply fly around her and she can command them to attack or heal others, temporarily tainting their aura color with black swirls. Traveling while using her semblance tires her out as much as if she were traversing the distance on foot. A swarm of 100 bats can completely devour an Ursa Major in a manner of seconds if it hasn't been killed and dissipated already. Vampire is an inherited semblance from her father.

TLDR: Ruby's semblance, but way slower and she transforms into bats that regenerates her aura by attacking.

Combat Behavior: As a spear user, Amethyst is a balanced melee combatant. She possesses excellent but not specializing in physical strength, stamina, and speed. While her spear gives her an advantage over other melee fighters due to it being a longer weapon, she keeps her chain folded in half twice to provide as a shorter weapon if the opponent manages to get close. Against the more 'dime a dozen' enemies, she unfolds her chain and is capable of swinging it hard enough to bisect Grimm vertically. While she doesn't possess any ranged abilities, her semblance grants her mobility along with a source of aura during battle. However, if the enemy possesses any sort of area of effect damage such as fire, she would be in trouble when using her semblance.

WEAPON

Name: Exitium

Primary Form: A yari (spear) with a 160 cm black and gold shaft and a 45 cm symmetrical black blade with a blood red edge.

Dust Functions: There is a fire and kinetic sintered dust crystal at the sakawa (where the shaft and the blade meet) that can be activated for a variety of fiery attacks.

History: Exitium was made by Amethyst all the way back when she was in Sanctum Academy, and has been with her ever since. The dust crystal was added during her second year at Haven.

Name: Folzex

Primary Form: An extremely durable 4 meter long metal chain made of dark colored metal with red and gold designs running along its length.

History: Amethyst first picked up a chain as an improvised weapon during the beginning of the Longest Winter. After the event, she built Folzex to use specifically for combat.

Instead of 'still a sense of morality', I'd put 'still present sense'.

[...]they didn't believe deserved to be killed, [...]

[...]helped her git rid[...]

Apart from those, looks pretty good to me, history-wise!

Seig has already been given permission to make a Grimm Studies/Combat professor for Haven.

Speaking of permission, you need it before you can make a professor. From the FAQ "Schools and organizations are run by player characters, but you must have permission from staff and/or organization creator to make a character for that group."

Oops, sorry, misunderstood a message.

Edit: Sorted out the situation, will continue to develop as Team Strategy Professor.

The entire semblance needs to go. Both Shapeshifting and flight are banned. Summoning is as well.

Quote
Banned Semblance Abilities: These are general concepts that are not allowed for characters.
Mental Manipulation: This includes effects that alter or directly affect another’s mind. Mind Reading, Mind Control, causing fear, etc. Effects based on the senses(such as creating illusions) are allowed.
Semblance Copying.
Aura Drain and Anti-Aura.
Manipulating another's Aura against their will
Time Travel. Slowing, Speeding, or briefly stopping time may be accepted under some circumstances.
Hammerspace
Creation Powers. You cannot create a hammer made out of a physical object. You can create a hammer made out of Aura, which would dissipate when you let go of it or ran out of Aura.
Aura Constructs do not have consciousness, and cannot make decisions on their own. They will follow instructions given to them by their creator, however.
Obviously Overpowered Abilities. Invulnerability is an example.
This is not an exclusive list. There may be other things not on this list that are not allowed.

I see nothing here against flying/shapeshifting. Not to mention it's (maybe) possible that crow can turn into a crow. As long as it's balanced and well worded I believe that anything is at least PLAUSIBLE. Though bats as aura constructs don't sound like a bad idea if you DO have to replace it.

So long as the bats are not acting independantly of amethyst i don't see how it breaks the rules. It could be considered OP wit the levels it can restore but thats not really for me to say.

Yep. Let the staff handle it. Also, don't trust me on what's fine and what's not.

85% sure flight is supposed to be on that list, and you guys seem to be skipping over a key part of that section.

Not that I am commenting on the semblance myself, or at least not yet.

As far as I see it, it's basically like Ruby's actual semblance, but somewhat slower and with bats instead of rose petals. Yes?

On a purely basic level, they are similar, yes.

Another thing to consider is that our canon doesn't follow the show's canon 100%.

Well for the time being, I just put limited flight capabilities.
