Okay, since I can't post on the RWBY discussion board, I'll ask here.
Below contains a small spoiler if you haven't watched the recent Ruby character trailer. And also a confirm plot. But that is not what we are going to talk about.
Ruby is shown to be more rosey than usual. Not the metaphorical way but literally. Her every steps makes rose petals, kinda her motif. For the longest time ever, Ruby is shown to be able to travel at speeds fast enough to lift everything in the cafeteria.(Fav episode btw)
But in the trailer, something different occurs. Ruby still goes fast, but is followed by rose petals, then spilts in to three. Whaaaaat? We already know thag everytime she uses her Semblance, Rose petals! This is the first time we see this.
Could this be a development in her Semblance(like maybe she moves fast enough that she forms afterimages) or perhaps Speed has never been her Semblance. But rather, something to do with turning into roses.

Here, Big P literally says, and I fucking quote:
Pyrrha (To Weiss): Well, Ruby has her speed, you have your glyphs, my semblance is polarity.
With Pyrrha talking about her polarity, with was led up to by talking about Ruby's speed and Weiss' glyphs. As we know that Weiss' glyphs are part of her semblance, we can therefore come to the conclusion that Ruby's semblance is speed.

Unless you've seen this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0WeiG2-HRQ), you're missing a critical piece of info. Speed doesn't allow you to do that.

Actually I have. And yes, speed shouldn't allow you to do that, but remember:
We have audio and video proof that Speed is Ruby's Semblance.
Until Vol 4 tells us, we'll never know whether or not Ruby's Semblance has been upgraded, changed or debunked. If the latter-most is true, then the RWBY Team need to figure out what the hell they've been working on for 4 Volumes.

Thing is, Ruby's semblance hasn't changed - it just developped. This is why I said speed was never her semblance - rather, speed is an aspect of her semblance, which allows her to turn into rose petals and fly about. The thing that she did - spinning into a horizontal dive at enormous speeds - is just her using part of her semblance, as she didn't know how to full-blown use it before.

Alrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrright. Look, saying speed was never her semblance is plain wrong because because up until V4, her semblance has been a basic speed semblance. THAT BEING SAID, Pyrrha isn't omniscient. As far as she's seen, Ruby's semblance has just been speed, so that's what she called it. Now, one of two things is happening. Either it's still just a speed semblance and their just being more artsy about it, or semblance, as speculated, change and developed as the user becomes more adept. Both are equally possible. The latter would make more sense, yes, but it's also Rooster Teeth. I would not be at all surprised if it's simply an artistic choice.
