Title: It Takes a Village (AKA 'A pretentious prick arrives at Beacon) (OPEN)
Post by: Walter on October 12, 2016, 01:56:33 PM
An airship flew over the city of Vale, a purple crown logo painted on its side. The airship was the size of those which brought students to Beacon at the start of each year, but this one was slightly different. Different in the fact that it was privately owned, and, rather than carrying a large group of eager now hunters and huntresses, it carried but a single one. Well, him plus his entourage.

There were people there to make sure he looked impeccable, people to carry his belongings, people to operate the vehicle, people to act as his personal guards. Not that he needed any of it, or anything. The whole thing was merely formality that a person of his high class had to deal with. Nothing more.

The vehicle docked gracefully next to the courtyard, people glancing at it with confusion. The rest of the students had arrived earlier, after all. They were even more confused when the doors opened and a stream of obvious adults poured out, carrying and pulling all kinds of luggage. Ammunition, clothes, dust, spare parts, various cosmetics and books. And, out after all of them came the "man" himself.

Reginald fucking Royale.

He was dressed in his usual regal garb, cape flowing behind him as he strutted down the ramp, a young woman quickly stepping out from the airship and taking hold of the end of the cape to keep it from dragging on the ground. Reggie raised his hand towards her to indicate that there was no need, then turned to the workers carrying his bags.

"Chop, chop, people! I don't pay you to lazy about and waste my time! Get the bags to wherever my dorm shall be and get back immediately so father doesn't need to wait on the ship!" He called out to them in a commanding tone, clearly not bothered by any potential onlookers. For all he cared, they were unimportant. He was important. They were peasants.

He nodded to the woman behind him, and began to move through the courtyard, head held high and exerting confidence with every motion like the pompous prick he was. There's a new king in town, Beacon. And you better be ready.

Ophelia sat on a bench typing her novella on her laptop. Stella sat on her right, programming on her scroll. As Reginald arrived, they glanced up for a second, recognizing the symbol on the airship and the noisy boy before returning back to what they were doing.

Stella then gave Ophelia a wink before stepping on the edge of Reginald's cape just as he walked past, still typing on her scroll.

Seeing the cape on the newcomer, Ash got a dry look on his face and muttered "Well, it seems like somebody lacks a sense of style."

Galileo saw Reginald, the moment that he did, Reginald is going to be in loads of pain. Well annoyance type pain.
He stood back for a bit, waiting to see what happens to Reginald after Stella stepped on his cape.

Those who stand in my way will soon regret the day they crossed paths with- OH FU-[/i] Reggie couldn't even finish his thought, the smirk being wiped off his face as his cape was suddenly pulled back. The guy tried to continue his strut, and soon found himself getting close and personal with the ground.  Rubbing his face and muttering curses under his breath, Reginald stood up and turned around sharply, pointing accusingly at the pair sitting on the bench. Though his fall was much less than graceful, he could still muster up a pretty good menacing glare.

"You! How dare you do such a thing to humiliate me? Do you have even the slightest clue who I am!?" Reggie shouted at them, no clue who had actually done it. He raised his hand to his guards, who had just left the ship and running towards him upon seeing him fall. No, he had to establish dominance himself. That's what a man would do! No it isn't.

Marshal had just arrived at Beacon and was wandering around the courtyard when he saw the spectacle unfolding in front of him. Some guy wearing a cape had apparently fallen on his face and was yelling at some people nearby. Suddenly wishing he had some popcorn, Marshal decided to stick around and see how things would play out.

Stella and Ophelia looked at each other for a moment. They knew each other well enough that they didn't even need to exchange words. Stella pointed at Ophelia with her thumb although it was herself that had stepped on Reginald's cape. "Abigail did it."

Ophelia, wearing a white t-shirt, black skirt, and a light grey knit knee-length cardigan gave a smile as she met Reggie's eyes directly. "Tip of advice? Don't go into combat here at Beacon with the cape on. As we all just saw."

Galileo walked in, like he came from Reginald's ship wearing one of the guard's unifroms(he knocked one out) and came to Reginald's side. He gave a wink at Stella and Ophelia to show he was faking it before helping Reginald up.

Reggie shoo'd his 'guard' away, not breaking eye contact. His look was, to put it simply, 'upsetti'.

"This cape is a sign or royalty! A symbol of status and power! And I'll have you know, getting behind me in combat is not that easy!" He proclaimed, raising his head even higher as he spoke. Somehow, just saying all of that made him think he had 'won the argument'. What a tosser.

Marshal sighed as he approached. "Come on, man," he groaned to this strangely-dressed guy. "I'm sure it was an accident. Why don't you just let it go before you make a fool of yourself? It's kind of a bad move to make enemies on the first day, right?"

Jack Pettibone blinked right up next to them, all smiles and blistering radiance, his hands lazily shoved in his pockets. His blue eyes flashed mischievously as his cargo shorts and checkered blue shirt, unbuttoned of course, flapped from his sudden movement.

"No, a cape is a sign of being a massive wad, and a huge sign that screams "PULL ME, I LIKE BLUNT FORCE TRAUMA TO THE THROAT!" he quipped, his teeth sparkling in the sun.

Shiroe was patiently watching as events unfolded from a bench while reading a small leather bound book. Unfortunately, Reginald, or Reggie as he first knew him as, was strutting around as always making rounds as if he owned the place. Sigh. If only he learned that one's wealth wasn't what defined a person, especially since those who found him rather...unsettling, were mostly part of the middle class. How he knew Reggie was another matter, mostly cuz he knew his dad. The Pendragons were rather active in keeping up appearances so it wasn't a surprise that he got to know people, even if by name and appearance only.

Poor Reggie, though he is a bit...crude. Shiroe thought, watching as another kid, who somehow got one of his guard's uniforms, tried setting his cape on fire. It was a bit funny at first when someone tripped him but he couldn't just stand and watch while his cape slowly started to catch fire. That was just plain arson. Not wanting to step in Shiroe tapped his finger on a nearby stone, using a pinch of water dust mixture, and tossed the stone at his cape. Soon after the rune activated it sprayed a small torrent of water almost like a fountain, quite pretty if he did say so himself, and quickly killed the fire at the expense of the boy's clothes. Well, a little water never did harm anyone. Not as much as fire anyways.

Going back to his book Shiroe flipped to the next page, reading the passage in his mind and conveniently enough it was a prose quoting a torrent of water saving a city from conflagration. Maybe he got the idea from the book unconsciously.  Sigh.

"Oh, hush! I care naught for what 'enemies' I make here, as long as my allies remain as powerful as they are!" He said, waving off Marshal and Ash, though momentarily pausing upon Jack's comment. Well then.

"Furthermore, I suggest you take your leave before I- Does anyone smell burning? He asked, glancing back just as a fountain of water spraying across his slightly burning cape. Also his face.

It was at this point that his entourage took notice of his situation and two young assistants ran to him, heels clacking against the pavement. "Sir Reginald, are you-" "Get me a towel, Silica. Now. He spat out, his clothes now seemingly flapping in the wind. That's odd, there wasn't any wind just a moment ago, was there? Matter of fact, it seemed to be only present around him. Either way, his assistants hurried back to the airship in search of a towel.

"Who did this?!" He asked through his teeth, glancing around at the students and pointing to his cape. The anger in the bastard's voice was unmistakable.

Ash, seeing the fire doused, began looking around. "While I didn't see his face, but I do believe someone dressed up like one of your guardsman just ran away and hid.  It might have been them, or they may have been going to get help.  Either or is possible."

Marshal scoffed. For a guy that didn't care what enemies he made, he sure wasn't keeping himself marketable for allies. After this incident, word would surely spread among the first years of the buffoon with the cape who tripped over himself ten seconds into arrival.

"I feel bad for whoever gets stuck with that guy on a team," he muttered to himself.

Jack just did what any sane man would do when the sap's cape caught on fire. He laughed, long and loud, and began walking away. King Nothing's sudden outburst over his ruined clothes was too rich to handle, if he stuck around longer he'd probably bust a gut.

"The hot air coming out of your mouth did it, you twerp!" he called back over his shoulder, waving one hand in a mock farewell salute.

Galileo immediately returned in his regular attire of fun and took Reginald's hand and shook it with a big smile.
"I'm Galileo, pleasure to meet someone who dresses so extravagant! I must be in the presence of a King! Hm! I see you are facing a wardrobe malfunction! Well maybe I can do something about that!" Galileo throws down his suitcase, now filled with rich clothing and many many more and it flips open to reveal the clothing people like commoners can't obviously afford

Reginald took note of what Ash had said, but he didn't have to tell his guards a word. Already they had started searching the area for suspicious individuals. By now, the knocked-out guard had already been found.

Reggie didn't bother responding to the casually dressed man who had decided to take his leave. He cared not for what some poor sod thought of him. He was, however, about to shake Ash's hand in greeting, as the man at least had some semblance of respect, but his hand was soon roughly taken hold of by some androgynous looking bloke in a hat.

Even though his apparel, as strange as it was, indicated that the man was relatively wealthy, Reggie still pulled his hand back as he found his actions to be beyond rude. Good thing, too, as three of Reggie's personal guards had just ran up, pointing rifles at the man.

"Don't move and keep your hands where I can see them!" Commanded one of them. Another turned to face Reginald. "Sir Reginald, one of our guards spotted this man leaving from the same area the guard wandered off to. I had also taken note of the man leaving suspiciously without any orders. We also found one of our guys stripped from his uniform, unconscious. Your orders?"

Reginald glanced momentarily between his guard, the man who had supposedly embarrassed him so and attacked his men at that, and the rest of the students around him. He wanted to see the man humiliated the same way. But he couldn't do something obvious. Not yet.

"Escort him to whoever it was that was in charge at this school. I don't have time to deal with such cretins." The rich brat said, purposefully turning away from them. The three guards moved in to take the androgynous person away, whether willfully or by force.

Reggie turned to Ash once more and shook his hand. "Reginald Royale of the Royale family. I suggest you remember the name."

"Seems like that issue is resolved. Shiroe said, standing up after losing interest in his book. The current events piquing his interest way more. "It would be rude of me to not greet Reggie, even though we never did converse during those family business meetings."

Walking over to Reginald and Ash, Shiroe shot a look at Galileo and wondered what the mischievous boy would do next. If he tried anything further however he was sure it wouldn't end well; Not with all the guards around Reggie.

"Reginald, I believe we are acquainted? Well not us per se but our families have been to several gatherings together. Shiroe said, an extreme politeness contrasting to that of Reggie's arrogant talk. "And also a fellow Atlesian, I see. I do beg your pardon but let me introduce myself as well. Shiroe Pendragon of the Pendragon family. We had to relocate for the meantime and I'll now be schooling here in Beacon instead. Pleased to make your acquaintance.

Galileo looked at the rifles pointed at him and tapped them away with his cane. He raised his eyebrow at Reginald before laughing.
"Galileo, remember that too, trust me, most students in ths school would already know the name. Also rifles don't really scare me, I mean I disarmed one guard without anyone noticing until now, what thinks I can't disarm three?" Galileo shots a look at the guards in a sadistif sort of smile before reaching down to his feet and grabbing his suitcase, skates away laughing, he also left a present at their feet that went boom into an explosion of paint.

Galaleo didn't get far before a bat faunus seemingly appeared out of nowhere to block his path. Drevin had been watching the entire arrival from one of his many perches, but at this point it had become clear that Galileo was lacking a sense of decency. Sure, this new guy was haughty, but so far Galileo had done for worse than any bully Drevin had ever seen on Beacon grounds. So now he barred Galileo's way, one short sword extended to each side and a stern expression on his face. He was determined not to let this wrongdoing go without answer.

Graviton didn't like being here, especially with what he chose to wear today. He didn't like being in his combat gear all the time, but he felt so naked without it! A simply pair of pants a loose white shirt would be normal enough, if not for the many leather armor addition, he had made to it. But even past that, Beacon had too many memories of tests and poor excuses for classes. That's not to say he didn't like the idea of Beacon, he just... though maybe they let too many weirdos in. Maybe that was why he was let in.... Nevertheless, if he had a lien for every weird looking kid he'd seen since stepping off the airship to meet with Rose, he would be a millionaire! That was another thing, though, wasn't it? Rose was... Rose. He'd met with her before, or at least spoken with her, but she's always been... Rose. He couldn't say he liked the way she spoke, but he certainly enjoyed the laissez faire approach to life... well... most of her life. He'd heard stories, mostly from the upper staff of the Inquisition about her. About how she could probably wipe the floor with nearly any hunter or huntress, about how she she should be watched carefully. So it was a surprise when he was requested to meet with her. Weird, even. But that didn't really matter, he didn't want to think about the things they talked about. He just wanted to enjoy his day off and get back to Amity to watch the matches and show Fleetwood a thing or two, despite her insisting she "knows that already".

So when Graviton finally made it through the halls of Beacon and out to the airdocks of Beacon where he expected to find Fleetwood and his transport still waiting for him, he was sorely disappointed. Instead he found some giant airship letting one person off, and a bunch of kids flocking around him like he was some hot shit. "Dead within the year." He said mostly to himself as he moved toward one of the free docks to call Fleetwood and ask where she went. He didn't make it all the way to the dock before his interest was peaked, though. Normalcy seems to be a rare commodity at Beacon.

Screaming and a brief glimpse of fire caught his attention and he stopped in his tracks. There stood possibly the most coddled kid he'd seen in his years watching hunters, a few normal kids- well, "normal"- and a man with possibly the most aggravating voice he's ever heard. Said voice-man had apparently lit rich-boy's cape on fire. Graviton let out a heavy sigh. This was his day off! This shouldn't be his problem! ... But here he was, and there were some kids, fucking around. His Sword was still attached to his back, albeit in it's collapsed form. He wasn't gonna lug around the full form all day, every doorway would be a puzzle.

But never mind that, he was sure a glimpse of his sword would be enough to scatter the kids and, if he was lucky, send Rich-boy back home. He popped his neck as he approached this cavalcade of oddities.

"Excuse me!" He announced with his over the top, grandiose voice as he kicked the "present" away, sending it flying off the cliff. "I couldn't help but notice you just lit another student's clothing on fire!" He narrowed his eyes down upon Galileo before raising his hand into the air. Had he not already been  stopped by another student, Galileo would find himself slowly rise up into the air and float back toward Graviton before finally being placed before a very stern faced Inquisitor. He towered over the boy, a short human of only about five feet, give or take a few inches, against the man six feet and five inches tall. He almost seemed like a child. He lowered his voice down to a growl, or as close as he could muster. "Do you care to explain your villainous act?" He crossed his arms over his chest and stared down at Galileo with dagger-like eyes.

Jack heard the events unfolding behind him, paused mid-step, and slowly turned back around on his heels. Where was the popcorn when you needed it? He stood there with his hands in his pockets, perfectly ready to assist Tall and In Charge over there, although by no means did he look like he needed it. Definitely a Hunter, that one. Might as well start making friends.

"Yeah, I mean, I appreciate a great prank as much as the next guy, but wanton destruction of property, when some guy's wearing the property, eeehhhh, that's not my style." he quipped, strolling up beside the Professional.

Marshal was totally not sure what to make of the whole situation. He decided that the best course of action was to let things play out. He had a long night ahead of him, anyway. "Well, I guess things are calming down," he said. "I'm gonna go take a nap before tonight's initiation. Hope things work out better for you, dude!" Giving the new arrival a slight wave, Marshal walked away from the courtyard, trying his best to ignore the imposing presence that Graviton was giving off.

Galileo obviously was not one bit fazed, in fact he was smiling. He then suddenly collapsed and book fell out of his hat containing a catalog of his magic tricks he is prepareing for a kid's show and it flipped to a page that has the most recent log.
Turns out Galileo was up all night trying to prefect this new trick he drank alot of coffee, too much. He was not thinking clearly and obviously when someone as chaotic as him loses his mind, it gets stupidly chaotic. He basically had his head loose due to the lack of sleep

Graviton raised an eyebrow as he looked down at the student. Smiling. Delirious. Idiotic. All words that could accurately describe someone like this. Some more were arsonist, student, asshole, thief, metaga- And he collapsed.

Graviton frowned as he looked down at the now unconscious boy. He scoffed and shook his head. "That's just... sad. Pathetic, really." He slowly lifted his hand and the boy rose like into the air in front of him, limbs hanging limp. Graviton looked around for a moment before his eyes fell on Rich-boy and his guards.

"Any of you have rope on you?" He said, looking past the pompous child at the actual competent individuals.

Jack whipped off his belt and held it out to the Hunter, smiling good-naturedly. "If you tie it right, this should keep his hands behind his back, if that's what you're thinking. Don't worry, the pants are fitted." He blinked right then, to the edge of the landing pad and back to where he stood previously. "See, they don't fall off even when I do that."

Shiroe just stood there as he watched the scene unfold. Well, the guards seemed used to this kind of scene though it was the first he'd ever heard of it. The man was intimidating yet somewhat regal in bearing, that or the mere sight of him floating the boy around had an all too frightening presence.

"I have some binding runes...if that'll help. They'll certainly do more than a mere belt. Shiroe offered, somewhat annoyed at the prankster himself. Sure Reggie was an ass but he didn't deserve to get lit on fire. "It should hold for a few minutes without struggle at least. I could up the dust dosage so that they last way longer than usual...or maybe the belt would suffice...

Graviton took the belt with a smile and a nod."I applaud your good nature, student, but fortunately I won't be doing that. And, no runes won't do what I need to do." He held the belt for a moment, putting some aura in it temporarily, before trying one end around Galileo's leg. "You see, this is my day off..." Galileo began to float away from Graviton and toward the large airship. "Normally, I would love to inform you all on the positive lifestyle of staying true to you oaths as hunters and huntresses, and how those who turn away from their oaths should be shunned and hunted down...." The boy stopped on the edge of the wing and the belt began tying itself around the thinnest instrument he could find. "But to be honest, I'd really rather just go. I have things to do, this is my one day off..." With the belt tied securely, he let his semblance end, and Galileo was left hanging from the wing of a giant airship by his leg. "I'd rather not be here anyway, even if I was one duty. So, uh..." He turned quickly to Rich-boy. "Don't be a pompous brat."

And with that, Graviton left to call Fleetwood on his scroll.

(Leycil I swear to god, change that text color.)

Galileo doesn't really wake up, in fact he went into deep sleep rather quickly. It was his first good rest in days, even though he has the risk of being flown off by the airship to who knows where. He looks rather calm despite his dangerous unhealthy situation that may oead to injuries worse than a piece of clothing on fire that was easily put out

Upon seeing the large man use... well, some form of semblance, Camelia went up to a nearby fountain, close to which were sitting to girls she'd never met before. Crouching down, she extended her hand and a small blob of water appeared, forming a dome. She carefully pulled it out with her hands and stood back up, letting it float upwards before stopping its ascent. She then looked over at where the 'prankster' was being... tied to an airship? She tried to replicate some form of complex field on the orb floating in front of her, but it stubbornly remained spherical.

Reginald had responded to Shiroe, actually giving out a small smile upon seeing another man of higher standing. "Ah, yes, Shiroe of the Pendragons. I believe out fathers know each other quite well. It is a pleasure to see you here." He said almost charmingly. As if when speaking to someone he deemed 'worthy', he could actually be decent.

Of course, after this interaction, things got pretty hectic. As Galileo tried to flee, Reginald's guards tried to keep their aim on him and were actually almost ready to fire, before the 'jokester' was stopped.

Reginald watched with a shit-eating grin on his face as the prankster was punished by the large, imposing man. He was clearly someone with authority and a name around here. It was good thing to know such people were around to keep order, truly. Meanwhile his guards sort of just watched the whole thing a bit puzzled. And now there was a little nutjob tied to the wing of the airship. Ah, crap.

He only briefly glanced to the side at Marshal as he spoke. He didn't care for people that would use words like 'dude' or take naps. Bah. Whatever, it's not as if he would have to deal with such people much.

He turned back to the two he had been talking to before. "Well, I hope I can meet more people as respectable as you two around here, gentlemen. There are simply too many brutes around here."

Ash, having watched the situation resolve itself, rolled his shoulders as he turned back to Reginald.  "If you can find an Atlesian then you are guaranteed to see that they are reasonable.  Otherwise, there may be difficulties."

Jack watched patiently as the Hunter did his business, successfully keeping a straight face as Girly Boy got strapped to an aircraft. "No problem, man, anytime. Hope you have a good day off, try and relax a little!" he said with a wave, and went on his way.

That was, before being distracted by two large somethings playing with water by the fountain. Oh well, it was too bad. He was a tagged man now, and Orabel had different assets he valued higher than a momentary gander at Camelia Sol. Whistling to himself, he strolled off, thinking about money, fame, and being fawned over by an amorous ram faunus.

"Well, we can't speak for all Atlesians but I'm pretty sure there are plenty of good natured people around here too. Just need to pick your friends- Shiroe stated, looking around before contiuing in a slightly smaller voice "-or enemies, carefully.

Turning around Shiroe gave his farewell and begun going back to the general quarters where they would be staying before initiation. "I wish all of you luck in your initiations. Hopefully we all find suitable teammates. He said as he walked away, a tall gray-haired man coming seemingly out of nowhere following him with several boxes hefted on his shoulders without breaking a sweat. "Thank you, Dunham but I believe you should return to Mother and Father afterwards. I doubt they'd allow butlers on campus after today. The man returned a kind smile as they headed towards their destination.

"Ah, fair enough, though my first impressions have been rather lacking thus far." The rich brat said, then gave Shiroe a quick wave. "Likewise, Shiroe. I hope to meet you soon."

Reginald turned to face Ash once more. "Yes, I've heard good things about the people of Atlas. I hope to visit the place one day, as I heard the academy is a sight to behold." He paused and looked to his guards to see that all his luggage had been delivered already, and they were awaiting further orders. "It appears I should get going now. Good luck to you in your initiation. With luck, you might just end up with someone like me in your team." The walking tool said, before strutting off. His entourage followed, but were quickly scattered and sent back to the ship.

Reginald's assistant, Silica, brought him a towel and wiped his hair, before being shoo'd off as well. One could hear her grumbling about an 'ungrateful little piece of shit' as she made her way back to the airship. It seemed that he might not be a case of 'when you get to know him better', did it?
