Title: Bombs over Vale [Open]

Zinnober 11th, 80 AC
Ah, the bustling streets of Vale. This time of the year they were completely flooded with humans and faunus getting ready for the Hallow's Eve festival. Spooky witches and scary skeletons littered the shops getting into the holiday spirit. Of course, this included homes as well, even faunus homes. Across the river from the commercial district, sat the residential area, and within that, several neighborhoods inhabited solely by Faunus.
Braith stood on her tiptoes, peeking her head over the window frame and looking out over the street. Braith was lucky. She lived juuuuuuuuuuuuust on the edge of the residential area, her street even lead to one of the bridges that connected the residential area to the commercial area! Sometimes, her mommy would let her walk to the commercial district with her friends, Indigo and Altan. Even if she didn't have any money to buy things, she liked being there! Seeing the shops and all the cool decorations, seeing hunters and huntresses! Oh, the hunters and huntresses! They were the coolest, Braith thought.
"Braith, honey!" Braith's mother called her from another room and she quickly got down off of her tiptoes and ran to her mother.
"Yes, mommy?" She said as she approached her mom. A rabbit faunus, just like Braith, though she had brown hair and large pair of brown ears. Braith's white hair and ears were still short, but that didn't matter, she liked them. She didn't care if Whitney already had her ears already grown in all the way, Whitney was just a meanie anyway.
"Mommy's going to work now, so you be good." She smiled softly and leaned down to rustle her daughter's hair, between her ears. "And remember, if anything happens, you call my scroll, okay? You know the number, right?" She leaned back up and held out her scroll.
"Yes! Uhm... 720... 5... 24... uhmmmmmm..." Braith scrunched her mouth up and furrowed her brow in thought. "... Oh! 2914!" She said, triumphantly, as she beamed with pride at her mother.
Her mother chuckled before nodding. "That's right, sweetie!" She quickly leaned back down and gave Braith a kiss on the forehead. "I'll be back tonight, there's food in the fridge for lunch and snacks in the cabinet. I left the television on Muppet Street, so you can watch that if you get bored. I'll see you later tonight, honey."
"Okay, mommy." Her mother smiled before heading out of the door behind her and locking it. As Braith's mother made her way down the apartment building, Braith ran by to the window to try and see her leave the street.
Yes, the bustling streets of Vale were quite the site to see, and though most residents of the apartment complexes were at work during the busy hours, plenty of happy people passed through the neighborhood to get to the commercial district. Of course, they can't all be nice, happy folks.

Another man lurks at the edge of perception. Older, a bit worn down, but wiser. He'd arrived well beforehand, taken a seat just out of the center of the restaurant, and waited patiently. He'd shared some friendly conversation with his waitress, telling her a handful of awful jokes and lame flirtations. A pair of beers and once he closed out, she dumped him from her memory. Nothing really important to see with him.
The guy didn't look like much. An old, worn down jacket sat in the booth next to him. A long sleeved shirt, just a size too large on him and a pair of worn down jeans. A scruffy beard helped to mask his features even further. At this point he was basically just another near vagrant. Too poor to afford anything decent, too poor to drink in finer establishments, too poor to even be a criminal threat.
At least he didn't have to wait too long. His contact showed up, finally, waiting in the shadows of a nearby alley. He figured it was him, at least. The weapon, whatever it was clipped to his hip was a little to large and out of place on the reedy kid. He waited a moment, watching him, trying to verify that this was who he was looking for. The boy sat and listened to the music, getting way too focused on it. His coat was out of place on him as well, the older mercenary thought. Too dirty on a face too clean.
Or maybe he was just being paranoid, he thought as he stood up, shouldered a duffel bag, and walked out of the bar. The younger Huntsman lit a cigarette, eyes focused on the flames.
Janus Rogo smirked at the coughing as he approached.
"Don't worry, kid, you'll get there eventually." he said with a growl, barely loud enough to be heard over the din of the jazz band. He looked around at the surrounding commercial district, then jerked his head, indicating the other man should follow him towards the residential districts.

Janus' face twitched at the mention of his name. At this point, there was no purpose to stand on circumstance. His posture shifted. His free hand relaxed by his side, clearly unaccustomed to being empty. His eyes subtly swept the area more, seeking and searching. The warrior edged out a little more.
"So, they told you my name? Hnh. Wish they hadn't done that.", he growled.
In the back alley they went down, he was more satisfied. He pulled the satchel off his shoulder and passed off one of the briefcases inside of it.
"This should be easy enough. Drop the package and leave the area. Try not to be noticed, kid."
The kid obviously didn't think much of him, either through ignorance of his history or through simple arrogance, but he shouldn't really fault him for that. He was out of his element, that much was sure. Some student running missions. Atlas wouldn't have stood for that kind of behavior, not when he'd been there.
"Think you can manage?"

"Don't worry about the name, kid. It's nothing.", Janus said lightly, nodding at a pair of Vales compacted apartment buildings. Their targets. "First floor, second door from the stairs towards us. 118."
The older man hefted his own briefcase, keeping the duffel bag slung over his shoulder. He shouldn't need its contents, but after seeing the reaction to an Inquisitor some weeks ago, it wouldn't hurt to be prepared. Gunning down a bunch of students wouldn't be the best of ideas, but if it came down to a shootout...
"Meet me on 8th and Carter, the far corner, in fifteen minutes, and we can move on to the next step. Try not to be too obvious, kid? We may be dropping some messages, but our employer doesn't want the vessel known.", he said as he headed across the street.
The number of civilians in the area were a concern, but most of them passed him by, ignorant of who he was. He nodded politely at one man, thanking him as he held the gate to the complex open. He looked off to the side as he passed the security camera, keeping his features obscured, and with that he was out of the way. He walked through the complex's central hallway, dropped the briefcase in a trashcan, and headed back for the entrance. He smiled and nodded at a young Faunus as he walked by, rolled his shoulders, and set off down the street, looking for his counterpart.

Janus nodded politely, then looked back at the apartments. He reached into his pocket and produced a scroll. There was a slight moment of hesitation, almost as if he were second-guessing himself, then he keyed transmit.

The effects on one building were instantaneous. An orange flash of light spread from the front door of Apartment 118. A pressure wave spread down the street from Fionn's package. The windows across from it blew in, nearby cars flipped over, a random passerby's was picked up and hurled into another dwelling some twenty feet away. The front set of apartments was almost completely obliterated. For a split second, it was like someone had scooped out the front of the building, then the shockwave hit the older mercenary. Almost unconsciously he shifted his stance, bracing himself, shielding his eyes from what little debris was making it as far as them. His eyes cleared and he saw the remains of one building. The explosion had forced most of the debris further inward, sending a spread of masonry, carpentry, plumbing, furniture, and assorted personal effects punching through whatever stood in its way. As Janus watched, the structure sagged noticeably, slumping forward.
He turned toward the building he'd planted his bomb in. There'd been no effect. He frowned, then hit "Send" on the throwaway scroll twice more, before it finally responded. If he'd been over head, he'd have seen the top of the building bulge upward for a split second. As it was, he got to see every ground floor window blow outward, along with several of the walls. He saw the smoke and slight debris come pouring out of the central entryways, then watched the whole apartment building start dropping. The first floor was pancaked, he must've hit one of the main load bearing beams, judging by how quickly it went down.
Both buildings smoldered, smoke started to rise from above them as damaged appliances, fuel, or electric lines caught. It was eerily quiet for a second, before panic began to set in. Screaming from up and down the neighborhood, people pouring out of their dwellings, trying to call for emergency services. Screams from inside the collapsing buildings. Car alarms up and down the block chirped and screeched. It was utter chaos.
Janus himself looked over at Fionn, a slight frown on his face.
"Yeah, kid, we should probably leave...."

"Umm...Ow."
That was Camille's first thought upon returning to consciousnesses.
One minute, she had been walking the streets of Vale, the next, an explosion caught her in the side and she was throw across the street before crashing against a building. As of now, however, her vision was partially blocked by rubble as debris had landed on her. Groaning softly, Camille rolled onto her stomach, shifting the rubble slightly as she did.
Feeling for her weapon, she rolled her eyes in annoyance when she discovered it was out of it's sling.
Oh well, she'd be fine, right now, however, she needed to get up and move. There was no time to be laying around, whatever happened, there was bound to be injured people, she needed to assist those in need, and find the cause, if possible.
Forcing her legs to work, Camille ignored the sharp pain that rattled through them and stood.
Breathing heavily, Camille took the time to draw her secondary weapon, shift it into knife form, and paused as she looked around.
"Hello?" She called out.

Braith sat watching the television, its illuminus glow outshining the dull light from the overcast day. On the television, two puppets made to look like hunters were smacking against a puppet made to look like a Beowolf. Braith, clearly content with the show, giggled as the two beat up the monster.
As the show ended with the catchy ending tune, the little girl looked down at the half eaten snacks by her side on a plate on the floor. Sure, they were tasty, but Braith wanted something a bit more tasty than just snacks. Braith's head turned to look toward the door leading to the apartment building's stairs and paused for a moment. 'Mom won't be home for a while...' She thought to herself as she lifted herself up off the floor as the next show began to play in front of her.
She made her way into the kitchen and pulled open the fridge door. Way up at the top, far beyond her reach, sat a delicious, decadent, chocolate cake; something her mom had bought for herself and Braith to celebrate her recent birthday. About half was already missing, the chocolatey center oozing out on to the cake tray. Braith was sure her mother wouldn't mind if she just had a little bit.
The girl furrowed her brow and looked up toward the cake, her bunny ears flopped downward and her hand to her chin. She'd seen smart people on her mother's shows do this when they were deep in thought and she thought it would help her figure out a solution to the current problem standing before her, she just wasn't tall enough to get to the cake. Braith was a resourceful girl though, even without pretending to be one of the smart men from the television, and quickly realized her plan of action. With a hop in her step, she bounded away and dragged a chair in front of the fridge.
With clear pride in her eyes, she climbed up o to the chair and layer her hands on the plastic covering that protected the cake. Now she just had to take off the plastic covering and- BOOM
Suddenly an extreme loud noise rocked the air around her, sending quakes through eh ground and air and shaking the very building. In the commotion, the chair Braith had been standing on tipped and fell over, bringing her and the cake down with it.
As the ringing in her ears subsided, she slowly opened her eyes to see the cake splattered over top of her and the floor. The entire kitchen had been ruined, where the fridge once stood, a huge piece of rubble laid and in the wall, the hole where it had crashed through. And though she hadn't noticed it immediately, the pain of a gash across the top of her wrist quickly came flooding forward.
Mom was going to be mad, was the only thing that ran through Braith's head as tears welled in her eyes.
Far away, on the rooftop of one of the other apartment buildings, sat Cornix, casually relaxing on a beach chair she had set up on the stair accessible roof. She was wearing casual clothing, as not to attract attention, and her long hair blew back as the shockwave rushed past her.
"Hm." She thought to herself as she folded up the chair and headed back to the roof access stairs. "Bigger than expected."

Shocked and confused at what had just happened a few blocks away from him, Vahn quickly toss his coat and rush towards the exploding buildings. His helmet develops around his head while he search for survivors. "What the hell is going on?" Is all that he can think of while loading a canister of water dust in his revolver and having a wind one at the ready in the other hand.

Another day of sore muscles, of course it was his fault for entering a combat school and only doing the minimum physical training. The exercises being required of him were only getting more intense as time went on, which makes sense seeing as he was supposed to be shaped into a defender of humanity by his instructors. Zwei's policy of 'getting on it later' had really worked against him now. The masked boy's posture was sightly hunched with his neck craned forward; his hands were stuffed into his blue jeans' pockets and he wore a dirty white t-shirt.
He was traveling pretty light today just a pocketful of Lien to accompany him to the grocery store to pick up this week's food. Being in no hurry his pace was quite leisurely, allowing him time to enjoy his surroundings and allow himself to attempt to relax a little. Zwei grumbled to himself about the prices of food before his thought was cut short by a piercing wave of sound that made his ears ring and hurt. He was a few blocks away from the blast, he could roughly tell where the blast originated from by examining his environment.
Honestly though, he wanted to run, it would have been easy for him to just run with the rest of the crowd, nobody was stopping him and although he didn't understand the situation, it was obvious that there might be danger. He bit his lower lip hard, punishing himself for such a thought, even if he knew he wasn't all that special, to just run away would be to throw away his years of hard work. He began to run towards the source of the deafening blasts, weaving through the crowd, helping those to tripped back to their feet. If anything, he could provide some relief to the victims of the tragedy.

And now she was limping. Great.
"Hello?" Camille called out again, having picked up Tempre as she did. Quickly changing it into sword form, she planted the blade into the earth and used it as a walking stick.
Slowly limping across the street, Camille almost sighed in relief as she heard distant sirens filter into her hearing. Wait, actually, she could hear somebody else...Rapid footfalls...Was someone running?
"Hello?!" She called out again, this time in direction to the source of the noise.

Brock had been in the process of walking back to Beacon from the docks, taking one of his many routes. The air was slightly cool, pleasant to stroll in. He wasn't really thinking of anything, just letting his gaze aimlessly wonder over the sights abd sounds of his surroundings. Until something caught - no, assaulted - his attention; a bright flash of light from a building on the other side of the bridges going out of the commercial district. Several windows seemed to be made entirely of fire for a split second - at least, until they shattered outward, surfing on a shockwave few could have genuinely seen.
The sound made its way through the environment, not really caring what or who was in the way, merely seeking to distribute the energy over an ever-increasing volume. The pressure wave washed over Brock, nearly busting his eardrums and making him curse under his breath. Screams erupted from everywhere close enough to be rocked by the blast, a fitting reply to the chaos that had unfolded. The crowd started running away from the epicenter as the building collapsed, no longer capable of suporting its own weight. Not even thinking, Brock started to run against the flow of people, his large stature making others give him a wide berth as well as alloeing him to easily withstand the pressure exerted onto him by those who brushed - or straight up ran - against him.
A second hellfire was birthed in another nearby home, producing equally horrifying results on all accounts - although the building decided to mostly stay up, this time.
The tall boy arrived on the scene a few seconds later, immediately going as close to the wreckage as possible without endangering the life of possible survivors. Taking a big whiff of air while trying to not choke on dust, he yelled "Hey, can anyone hear me? Yell or moan as loud as you can so I can get to you!"

It had been a beautiful day, the birds were singing, the sun was shining and Xavier was on his merry way to his customer's home after a long day at the shop. He had finally made some progress in an invention that had been bothering him for ages. Yes, today was a good day. It was such a good day that Xavier hadn't had his bugs out. Maybe if it hadn't been such a great day he would have seen the bomb. He would've foreseen the consequences that were about to lay waste to vale. However hindsight is twenty-twenty and unfortunately unchangeable.
Walking into a building Xavier had a view errands to run. Some things to drop off, some inventions to sell. While he waited for the clerk to run the security checks as he was allowed upstairs.Room 117 right? I wonder what type of customer needs a super vacume. Like sure re-engineering a zoomba wasn't that hard but seriously how lazy do you have to be to need a robot to clean for you?As he walked the hallway towards the buyer's room he passed a small family. A man, a woman, and a playful daughter currently pretending she was the pilot of an airship. Xavier couldn't help but smile as he watched the family go by. He was certain she would become the best pilot in Vale someday. It was 2 steps after he passed them that he noticed the package at the door beside his destination. Out of slight curiosity he let one of his bugs scan the package so he could play "guess whats inside the box"!. Sure it wasn't legal but who would know right? That's when saw the signature inside the box. I need to get the fuck out of dodge right n- That was the moment he remembered the family he passed. They had no idea what was about to happen. Turning around and screaming he ran for them activating his force field gadget he sprinted down the hallway. "GET DOW-"
BOOM
Xavier felt the blast tear through the entire building. It broke down his force field as it took most of the shock wave, using his aura to protect the family from the rest of the blast. Ruble came tumbling down like rain as the ceiling collapsed on them. Pushing past the deafening ringing in his ears he held his arms up to meet the collapsing ceiling with his unbreakable strength. Through sheer strength and a little bit of luck he stopped the ceiling from crushing him and the civilians. They were trapped under a pile of ruble with Xavier keeping it up. Looking around to see if the family had made it he saw their unconscious forms breathing lightly. "Thank*wheeze*God*wheeze*" he coughed out while trying to catch his breath. A groan from the ceiling was all the warning he had before an immense pain shot through him and the weight on his arms increased. Buckling slightly under the weight Xavier struggled to keep himself up but steadied his body against the burden. He couldn't even begin to estimate how long he could keep this up for but one thing was for certain, he needed help and he needed it yesterday.
Disoriented and immobile all Xavier could do for now was stand there and wait for help with the weight of the world on his shoulders.

Vahn looks at the destruction as he runs, shouts and tries to direct anyone to an area that hasn't been effected by the explosions. "Keep calm! Keep your distance from the buildings! Head East!" He repeated while ignoring his own words.
"I can't do this alone... " He thought as he place two fingers on the left side of his headgear. He had a feeling communications would be flooded but he had to do something. While trying to get in contact with the authorities, he notice someone limping with a sword as her support. He ends the call and offer her his shoulders. "Come on, we have to go."

Janus was frowning before the student had leveled the revolver at him. He'd been frowning before the mental breakdown. Hell, Janus had started frowning hours ago, but it set further down when the bombs went off. The stated plan hadn't called for them to be that size. They were supposed to have bee-hell they'd felt like small, weak charges in those cases. He hadn't opened them, though. Maybe that would've clued him in to the full scale of the operation.
He could've charged way more.
-or-
He could've not blown up a bunch of-
No time for that now, the mercenary thought to himself, coming back to the present. He found himself down the street from the explosion. As he'd expected, students and Huntsmen were flocking towards the rubble. Any one of them could glance over here and catch the two of them. He needed to end this, quickly, and quietly. When the boy finally snapped his hand up, Janus had subtly shifted his stance. There was no need to kill the kid. He definitely hadn't been prepared for this. He hadn't been there before.
Damn. He'd made another.
Janus' hand, fueled by decades of training and experience, boosted by his semblance, snapped up to the revolver. The downside to using one of its size was the hammer gap. That gap found itself blocked by Janus' thumb. Nothing fired. The older Mercenary stepped inward, wrenching the younger man's hand down and to the side. Another burst of his semblance shot the both of them up in the air. He felt Fionns head smash into his shoulder from the acceleration. Shouldn't cause a concussion.... He tossed him on the roof of an apartment building even further down the street. Some 6 or 700 feet between them and the chaos. The older mercenary shook his head, swinging the cylinder for the revolver out and dumping the rounds before tossing it back to Fionn.
"Yeah, kid, you're not entirely wrong. I knew they were bombs. I didn't expect that, though." he said, gesturing over his shoulder as the smoke rose. He could hear the sirens in the distance. "They should've been much smaller. Oh, you didn't kill anyone, either. You should've figured you were going to, though. Just....", there he paused, sighed almost imperceptibly. "Look, kid, don't let this shit eat at you. I had an idea what was coming. You didn't. You got played. Own that, learn from the failure, and move on with your life. Don't bottle the shit in."
He tugged his weapons out of his duffel and thew the empty bag aside. Red Tyrant snapped together as he reached up and tugged off the fake beard. Now he was readily recognizable. The Butcher, yet again.
"Trust me, you don't want to go there. Right now, I guarantee some of the other students are digging into the rubble, trying to save people.", he said matter of factly. "Go help them. Save some of those poor folks I just tried to kill. Cloak yourself and rabbit out of the area. Or, try and stop me, I guess. I won't kill you, but it'll hurt. If anyone gets wise, tell them it was me. I lied to you, led you on, and got everyone killed. You wouldn't be wrong."
With a hard grin, Janus shrugged, stepped back, and rocketed off into the air, heading up and away from the explosions.

Solaris was enjoying the Hallow's Even festival, some time away from Atlas was good and she couldn't help but smile as the festival went around her, by her side smaller girl then herself was wearing a witches costume and joining in pictures with kids and their costumes. Quite a few of the kids thought she looked like a cool knight, her armor plus some fake pieces to drive the idea of a knight home, no helmet, though. The explosion went off, she felt the shockwave but didn't get knocked off of her feet thanks to the distance. At this point, she immediately ripped off the fake pieces of armor and ran towards the building.
The girl beside her could only stare at the explosion. She stopped and helped some of the people get to a safer distance who were knocked around by the blasts explosion, Solaris noticed something in her vision as she saw two people dressed in black heading towards the building rooftop. She didn't pursue them because there were people that needed help, throwing those who were having trouble walking onto her shoulder before bringing them to a safe distance and having the girl who was with her help those with the little medical knowledge that she possessed. Solaris laid her cape onto the girl who was with her and told her to say safe.
She looked back at the building and started to move through the rubble listening for voices and using her strength and sword to pry those who were still breathing out of the rubble.

Zwei knew that he wasn't qualified to give any sort of medical care beyond the absolute basics, he tried to force himself to remember but his adrenaline-filled mind refused to cooperate. In the back of what thoughts he had, there was a nagging doubt that wouldn't leave, —this was far different from any of the drills he had done— and though he might never admit it, he was afraid. Regardless he urged himself onward, muscles straining as he did so, as he was trying to assure himself that he was nearly at the wreckage, his thought was abruptly ended by a different voice, this one sounding less panicked than the others.
"Hello?!"
He scanned the area, he could tell that the call had been directed towards him, although he didn't know the reason for the call, he resumed his running, this time towards the call. With his speed and the already close distance between them, Zwei found himself next to a girl, a student of some sort he assumed by the weapon she was using to hold herself upright.
"D-do you need my help?" he stumbled awkwardly with his words, despite his want to assist, his lack of training was quite obvious and although the metal mask he wore over his face lacked any expression and might have made him look calm, his nervousness was still quite apparent by his wide-eyed, fidgety demeanor. He seemed to have focused too much as Zwei hadn't even noticed the other student already offering to help her.

Camille looked to the newcomer, specifically, the one who as a tad bit more nervous then the other. "....Thank you." She said, then glanced at his metal mask.
"...Are you a vigilante?" She asked, clutching her arm.

Xavier stood their holding up the building as sweat began to build up on his brow. He was almost at his limit. His aura had not been broken completely by the blast but the little that remained was quickly consumed to hold up the ceiling. There was no way he could hold up the entire thing before help came. His gadgets crushed under various piles of rubble Xavier sighed deeply. Is this how it ends? Forgotten under a pile of rubble with no one to hear his final words? For his inventions to rust away to the dust of time? He looked around at the small space he was trapped in with 3 bodies lying on the floor unconscious.
Right…they’re the reason I’m doing this…if I can buy them a few more seconds…a few more moments then this will be worth it.
However before he could brood any longer a small voice pierced the roaring chaos.
“Mister what’s wrong with mommy and daddy?” Xavier’s eyes widened as the little girl stood up and walked towards him with teary innocent eyes. Of course, she was the one who she had covered the most during the blast. “Hey-” “Marceline.” “-Marceline, I am going to need you to be a big girl for me. Your mommy and daddy are taking a little bit of a nap right now so I am going to need you to do me a BIG favour. I need you to grab that small black container on the floor over there and put it inside a special slot I am on my arm for me ok?” The little girl nodded in understanding as she put the container into the slot with shaky shock ridden hands. Xavier felt the rush of power as his semblance was powered up. It was only by god’s miracle that his foci that he had purchased from Beacon weren’t crushed in the explosion. Flame coated his arms as two columns of fire burst through the ceiling of the space that kept them hostage. The girl looked up with wide eyes as the debris was obliterated. Not taking a second to think Xavier picked up the girl, frail in his giant metal arms he rocketed through the hole created in the ceiling. Charging through an open window Xavier went airborne. Digging his arm into the side of the building bricks and mortar flew in every direction as he slid down. The girl’s screams almost drowned out his as he experienced pain beyond belief. The connection between his arms and his body strained as he felt like he was being ripped apart. Setting the girl down Xavier scaled the building using his immense strength to go back for the two parents. Taking one last glance at the girl he could have sworn he saw the ghost of inspiration in her eyes.
Rushing back into the inferno Xavier dove back into the pit. Carefully putting the man, who was nearly back to consciousness in his arms, Xavier went to retrieve the wife when tragedy struck. A loud screech of steel pierced the air and a beam crushed her lower half pinning her under twisted metal. Xavier had held out his arm and stopped a second beam from crushing her head. Not good…I cant save both of them.
“Leave me…I’m done for hunter..”
She was conscious, Xavier looked up with wide eyes as she spoke. A few moments of silence passed before another screech of metal resounded throughout the small enclosure. This time it was Xavier, he had ripped off his left arm with his right arm and placed it to brace the falling beam. Destroyed wires and metal protruded from the shredded stump that was his left arm. No time to explain he jumped out of the room with the man. Laying him on the concrete below he barely had time to catch his breath before Xavier found himself charging towards the building again. Using a blast of flame from a semblance enhanced mouth Xavier made it back up the building. When he returned to get her he saw her looking at his left bionic arm that stood between her and her death.
"Please, tell my daughter I love her and tell my husband that I'm sorry I couldn't be there more for him...he deserved much better than this..."
Xavier dipped down to her prone form, wiping her tear soaked cheeks. “No, uh uh, this is not how it's going to go down. You are going to get the FUCK UP and go down to your daughter yourself. You're going to go down to her and you are going to HOLD her. You are going to tell her how much you LOVE her yourself. You have had it easy all your life. You have a loving husband who cares for you and a daughter who adores you. I will not let you just throw that all away just because you didn’t feel like for FIGHTING FOR ONCE IN YOUR GODDAMN LIFE…please…do it for her…”
Xavier didn’t know if he was yelling at the women or his own mother. He knew what it felt like to have parents who abandoned you. He was damned if he was going to let this women just through her life away. When he refocused he saw the women pushing on the rod that entrapped her leg. Xavier smiled…that’s more like it. Using his strength he ripped the bar from off her and charged out of the building once more. As he left the rest of the structure collapsed, claiming his left arm.
Paramedics who went to work to keep her alive took the mother away. Marceline came up to him and gave him a big hug calling him a hero. Kneeling down to her level he patted her head.
“No Marceline you helped me out when I needed it the most and I owe you my life. You saved the day deputy hero. Now I need you to be strong for your mommy and daddy too. The next few months are going to be hard but I need you to show them the strength you showed me.” he finished with a mock salute of his only working arm. Xavier pulled out one his clockwork bugs and pinned in her hair. It looked like a lovely broach, the girl looked like she was on the verge of tears. Pulling her into another gentle hug, careful not to crush her he whispered. "There there it's ok to cry. Everything is going to be ok."
It was this time that Xavier heard a large snap of a camera going off. Of course this was going to be front-page news. They were going to look for photos. Insensitive bastards. Those were the last words he said under his breath before he charged back into the chaos. It would take more than a torn off limb and broken aura to keep him out of this fight.

Xavier has sent his bugs (or what remains of them) to everybody's scroll with a 3-D map of the building including a detailed diagram of where the damage is most likely to have affected. There are rooms where people are trapped labeled marked in green and rooms/routes that are completely destroyed marked in red. The entire diagram extremely detailed and would help speed up the relief effort. It was also constantly being updated as Xavier's bugs found more obstacles and more victims. A message was also attached "No more excuses hunters in training, I have paved the road for you now GET TO WORK AND SAVE SOME PEOPLE"

Vahn wince at the new name he was given, even though it was true. "I doubt that matters right now. Now we should get you out of here before another explosion goes off." He tries to help her walk.
"The name's Vahn, just in case you wanted a name behind the mask."

As Brock looked over the ruins without stepping in, moderately afraid that he'd make the entire thing come down on survivors, his scroll let out a powerful vibration. Reaching into one of his many, many pockets, he grabbed the thin piece of tech and opened it.
Wow. What the hell? There was a diagram of the entire building, apparently being constantly updated, that very precisely indicated where stuff like people and utter wreckage was. Neat.
Giving the scroll one last look, Brock headed to the nearest green section and started to methodically clear everyone out.

It took him a moment to calm down but after a moment he finally realized that the one who had called out was already receiving help from some...strange masked fellow. He certainly didn't recognize him but his chest suddenly felt a lot lighter now, knowing that at least one person was fine, he let out a deep sigh, failing to vent the stress from his body he simply shook his head to refocus himself and continued his run to the scene of the event.
Zwei didn't make it very far, however. There was a strange jitter in his pocket, a strange writhing near his scroll that was so alien and unexpected that he thrust his hand and pulled out the device without thinking as he came to a stop. The map that unfolded before his eyes stunned him at the level of detail, how would anyone even make this so quickly? Zwei shook his head to ward off his wandering thoughts as he read the message at the bottom. "I really hope this thing is good enough to double as a hard-hat" he commented as he knocked on the metal forehead of his mask before beginning to seek an entryway into the collapsed building. Zwei was certainly there to help but he wasn't suicidal and he shuddered at the thought of himself being found with a piece of rebar through his back.

"Camille."
Okay, great. Now she had somebody with her...granted, it was some guy in a mask, but progress is progress. Forcing her body to stand upright and ignoring the offered hand, she turned to this...Vahn, "Do you know where the bombing started?"

Looks at the buildings that has been damaged by the explosions. "I wish I did, for now I'm making sure I can help anyone in need. Start to head to any signs of survivors trying to get out of the destruction before looking back at Camille. "Stay safe, Camille. If you find anything, please let me know. I want to find the bastards that did this.

Gray had been off to visit Sapphire who lived in the second building that had been hit. Unfortunately once he arrived and let himself in he realised Sapphire had gone out. That's what i get for making a surprise visit. No one to visit. As he turned to leave he heard and felt an explosion. Turning and looking out the window he saw a destroyed building. "WHAT THE HELL!" turning on his heel Gray went to dash downstairs to help and was halfway out of the room when the bomb in his own building went off. He was propelled straight into the ceiling by the blast that must have come from a lower floor and he eventually found himself sprawled out on the floor. "oooooowwwwwww" Gray hauled himself to his feet and dashed out into the hallways as they begun to crumble. "crap. ways down will have been wrecked." Gray was aware he was going to have to wait for rescue but bet there were some people in the building that couldn't. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________
Meanwhile Cerulean had been in the area too. on his way to one of his favorite bars when the bombs went off a little bit away from him. As he ran towards the buildings to help he heard gunshots ringing out. There are enough people around to help the survivors. Let's ensure the culprit is caught. Cerulean turned and went to chase the source of the shots and saw a man hopping across buildings. Without thinking Cerulean ran straight at the wall and leaped at it. He then created a clone in front of him which he placed his foot into the hands of and was then propelled up to the roof by it. As he reached the roof he actually recognized the man he saw. The Butcher. An Atlesian man who killed innocent people and was acquitted of his charges thanks to the Atlesian military. Now Cerulean really wanted to catch the man and begun giving chase using his aura clone leg up to throw him across the rooftops in pursuit.

The fleeing man growled at the sound of furious revolver shots. He glanced back, then flipped around. There was a harsh crack as one of the rounds flew by his head, indicating that the idiot was dialing his shots in. It was enough of a distraction that he almost botched his landing. If he couldn't focus, he couldn't maintain the proper thrust vectors for full flight, unfortunately, so he now found himself hitting a rooftop, then bouncing up, bunny-hopping to the next one. The kid maintained pursuit, but given his semblance and the years he had on him, Janus was putting some distance between the two. He hit a rooftop and rolled sideways, watching a brick chimney disintegrate under heavy revolver fire.
What the hell had he gotten himself into? This was supposed to be a simple job. Take out a couple of White Fang spies and sympathizers, break up their cell with minimal interference. He'd seen the intel that had been gathered on them, it was valid. It looked valid.... It probably wasn't valid at all. This was more than just some simple hit. No one made that kind of drastic error in explosion size, no one remotely competent. Maybe back when he'd been at school, when one of his old teammates had skipped over a 0 in their work, blasting a hole in the side of the dormitory, but adults? Running some kind of an organization? "Not fuckin' likely....", he growled to himself, shooting up into the air again.
There was more movement out of the corner of his eye, as yet another Huntsman joined the chase. This one looked to be about the same age as Fionn, but a bit more in control of his mental faculties for now. A pair of swords, a cloning semblance. Odd looking melee weapons, but nothing with range on it. This one wouldn't be able to keep pace, wouldn't be able to disrupt him from afar, and wouldn't be able to hold out in combat. Just had to make it a bit further. Head for the separation point in the districts. If he could hit the commercial areas, he could easily lose them in the labyrinth of warehouses, supply docks, and interconnected storage tunnels. He could hit the freeway, snag a car and be on his way. Hell, he could aim for the busy areas of the city and sidle into a crowd.
No, there wasn't any trouble, yet, just a minor delay was all. He glanced down at the Tyrant. The monstrous rifle seemed to growl at him, hungering for combat. The .338 rounds packed enough of a punch to concern even him. The 20mm, however, were the real beasts, capable of punching through most forms of a armor, cover, or defense, those'd discourage any pursuit. There was a second, when he glanced down, where the weapon seemed to... Grow teeth? A brief moment and it was gone, barely registering to Janus as he ricocheted off another rooftop, turning back to the two pursuers.
"You know, this isn't how partners should behave, kid!", he called out, loud enough for both of them to hear.

Fenix had been casually walking around Vale, keeping an eye out for the many shops of Vale. He had been looking for a new everyday suit now, but he hadn’t been making any money lately, so he can’t exactly afford one as of now. However, that doesn’t mean he’s not making a list of what he wanted to buy and the location to get them from within Vale. With that in mind, Fenix has a bright smile on his visage, and nothing could ruin that at all as he walks down the streets he is on.
He had heard a faint noise, and thought nothing of it. However, when his gaze passed over the area it came from, Fenix saw smoke rising in that direction. With a worried frown, Fenix quickly sped over to the area as fast as he could to see what’s happening. As he moved closer and closer to the area, the sounds of chaos started to grow louder and louder around him. Spying two people, one leaving the other, he quickly sped up to the figure that was left behind.
As he grew closer, he had a clearer look of the figure, Fenix took in the appearance of the girl as he quickly closed the distance so that they can talk over the chaos. With a quick glance to see if she was injured or not, Fenix quickly assessed the situation out loud, ”Are you hurt? What happened here? Do you need assistance?” Fenix quickly glanced over her crutch, which is what he presumed to be a weapon, before taking out his brass knuckle and fitting it on. With a frown and a bit of distaste, His thoughts about the figure that left the girl behind swirling in his head, Fenix mutters to himself, ”At least make sure people you come across are safe…”

Cerulean pretty quickly figured out there was no way he was going to keep pace with his target but that didn't mean he was going to let the bastard get away. Not with this. As he jumped over another rooftop another Cerulean appeared in the air right in front of Janus and went for a dropkick aiming to plant both feet square in his face and hopefully send him back down onto the rooftop the real Cerulean was running towards.

Watching Vahn go off, Camille could only sputter out a completely unexpected, "Seriously?" Before leaning back on her sword for support, who just runs off like that without even tending to an injured person? Before Camille even had a chance to curse Vahn's name, another person appeared. Thankfully though, this one seemed a tab it more sane then the others.
"Thank you." Camille said, "I was caught in the explosion's radius, I think I might have a few bone fractures, but I can support myself with Aura, if necessary."

Apologies for the massive post, I'll be doing smaller chunks now that I have everyone in. Also language warning for Cherry and behavior warning for Jack.
Cherry Chainsaw was bored out of her fucking mind. Cobalt had been going on for hours and hours now about court dates and laws and cops and other shit she could care less about. Even worse, they were at a coffee shop, and the music was light and sounded like a kitten farted. While he might fit in with his ugly cheap black suit and stupid simpering face, she stood out like a burning portal to Hell in a kindergarten. Starting with her clunky combat boots, her bare tattooed legs led all the way up to a short, ruffled crimson skirt, which gave way to her exposed midriff despite the chill. A small, sleeveless leather vest of the same color was the only thing on her torso. She'd kept her hair up in pigtails today, and the outfit was completed by mesh gloves and a spiked collar around her neck. People were staring. Of course, she wanted them to.
The explosion and a bunch of screaming, running people outside livened things up.
She was outside before Cobalt could say a word. Fuck. That was the faunus neighborhood. Double fuck.
"Absolutely not. You are not getting involved. Too risky. Liability, you know." Cobalt said, running a hand through his hair as he walked up next to her. A moment later he was on his ass with a bloody nose and she was off like a shot, effortlessly cutting through the crowd either by agility or simply not caring if she had to bowl people out of the way. Fuck, gotta go faster...her blood caught fire with her semblance and she began eating up the distance with titanic leaps, shortly arriving on the scene. Cobalt had struggled to his feet by then, grumbled something about pressing charges, and walked off with a dour expression. Of course, he wouldn't sue his meal ticket...
Everyone was screaming, people were running everywhere, there was smoke, fire...okay this was almost exactly like a Grimm Omen concert. Her ears and eyes swept the rubble, straining to find some sign of anyone who needed help. There, the building still standing, just barely...top floor, kids with a fucking dog, seriously...growling, she ran over, leaped high, and clawed her way right up the side of the damn thing until she got to the window. "Hold the fuck on, kids!" she howled, stuffing them under one arm, and flipped off the wall. She landed hard, her aura shuddering from the impact, but the kids were okay. She shoved them off towards some EMTs and hopped right back into the thick of things, her language saltier than the seven seas. Hot damn was she pissed as fuck...
Jack Pettibone was out enjoying a walk with Ember Autumn, and the pair of them leaned close and whispered to one another, looking to all the world like a couple of old friends sharing a joke. Actually they were hinting heavily at what they planned to do to one another later that night, but were discreet enough not to be overheard even by inquiring ears. Going nowhere intentionally, they had been roaming around Vale for a few hours now, popping into shops that interested them, and grabbing a drink or snack as the need and opportunity coincided. It was a pleasant outing for the both of them, made more so by the promise of what was to come. And then the rising sexual tension was shattered by an explosion only a few blocks away.
As the mob of fleeing people closed in on them, Jack shoved her into an alleyway, kissed her hard, and told her to get home safe and that he'd catch up later. Ember returned the favor, they copped their respective feels, and Jack dashed off in the direction of the blast, his pulse racing from all sorts of adrenaline. Ember just smiled to herself and sauntered homeward, adjusting her skintight black dress so that it fell back into place as she went.
"Alright, time for some heroics." he said to himself with a grin, after a few blinks and some acrobatics brought him to the edge of the unfolding carnage. His shirt was only an easily flammable piece of loose cloth, better lose it...With it wadded safely into the pocket of his cargo shorts, Jack spied a few people trying to make their away to safety in the ruins of the collapsed building, and dashed over to help them. Nimbly picking his way among the rubble, he hefted a pregnant woman off the ground, winked at her to let her know she was alright now, and blinked her over to a stretcher and some grateful first responders. Wash, rinse, repeat, until he needed a breather. Women and kids first, make sure the gathering throng could get excellent action shots of you saving lives, and presto, perfect publicity!
Marlon Murk was out and about trying to find where he was supposed to deliver the buckler shield he'd just forged. It had already been an hour and the address just wasn't making sense to him. He could have sworn he'd already covered this area, and every time he stopped for directions people told him something different. What in blazes was he supposed to do? Cushy had shown him how to use Mapsearch on his scroll, but even that was coming up with a fat wad of nothing.
And then in a split second he had much bigger things to worry about.
He heard the thunder before the shockwave hit. A smaller man might have been knocked off of his feet. Marlon just staggered. Quickly making sure the people who had fallen down around him were okay, he stared off in the direction the blast had come from, and the chaos he saw a few blocks over made his blood run cold. Wasting no time in a clear crisis, he barreled forward, choosing the quickest path through the crowd of fleeing, terrified bystanders, and put his scroll to his ear as he made a call.
"Howdy Uncle, it's me! Somewheres in downtown Vale a couple of buildin's just went up in flames and it sounds like some sort of bomb went off! It looks somethin' awful, ya better get over here right quick! Wait, what do ya mean ya can't? Mistral? Two hours ago? Hellfire!" he roared. Looks like he was going this one alone. Well, maybe not alone. Greenwood was already there, along with Loosebritches and Miss Chainsaw. Not waiting for any introduction, he charged past the police and firemen who tried to stop him and shouldered down the door of the building which was still standing. Once inside, the smoke nearly overwhelmed him, but he kept his head. This wasn't his first fire, no sir. Holding his shirt to his mouth, he listened carefully for any sounds of distress. There, by the stairs. The deer faunus with the chewed up leg, there was no way she was walkin' out.
"Easy does it, miss, I got ya!" he called, rushing over and gently gathering her into his arms. A few strides had him back out in the sunlight and headed right for the paramedics. No time for grievin' yet, that comes after, Just right back into the fire until it's done. He didn't even wait for a thank you, just turned and sprinted back inside.
Cheri Chanson had been on her way to shop for something sexy that Vi could wear, maybe a nice dress to show off her figure, or maybe just something that was just showy for once. Either way it was supposed to be a surprise. It was also a good excuse to spend some time with Mr. Galahad and Dr. Holliday, something that was rare enough now that she was at Beacon. The three of them had stopped at a little cafe near a faunus neighborhood she'd done a benefit at a year or so ago, and were enjoying some coffee and pastries as they made light conversation. That was, until what Mr. Galahad instantly recognized as bombs went off.
"Well, time to do our jobs." he said, his expression grim, and he and the doctor got up to go. They'd made it a few steps before realizing that Miss Chanson hadn't moved and was looking more than a little angry. "Miss Chanson, you're a huntress in training now. I have no right to make you sit this one out. Today we work together." he explained, almost smiling with the pride behind the words. Almost. This was a disaster, actually grinning would be unseemly. Dr. Holliday nodded in agreement, and she rose, taking the lead as they all went off together.
On the way over, Mr. Galahad noticed something the others didn't, and motioned for them to go on. "I'll handle this. Besides, if I'm right, this is my fight. Doctor, you're going to be needed by the looks of things. Do what you were born to do. Miss Chanson, get people out as best you can and listen the the paramedics. I'll catch up later." he growled, pulling out a pair of binoculars. The Butcher. That bastard! "Doctor..go! I'll be fine!" Bill, please...no need to watch over me, just do your job...
Cheri did as she was told, trying not to panic at the sight before her. Sure, she'd fought Grimm now, but this was something else entirely. Dr. Holliday was already rushing over and explaining who he was, and was quickly directed to the nearest batch of wounded, where he swiftly went to work doing what he was best at. She, however, started picking her way through the rubble and listening for people trapped underneath it. If she could hear over the sound of her own heart thudding through her chest, that is...
Mr. Galahad was certain...the man Cerulean Steel was trying to stop on the rooftops was the Butcher. Janus Rogo. One of the many, many reasons he'd left the Atlesian military behind and shook its dust from his boots. Behind his sunglasses, his eyes narrowed. And here you are, up to your usual atrocities...well, this time, there will be no brass to save you, you coward! Even as he made the positive ID, he was moving, calling Slepnir to himself on his scroll. Unlocking his briefcase, he slapped it to his chest and let Righteousness envelop him as he ran, its shield sprouting on his left arm. With his free hand he stowed his scroll and kept Justice and Purity compact and at his side. Another moment had Slepnir pulling up alongside him as he hopped into the seat and took manual control.
He gunned the engine and made for his target at full throttle, weaving in and out of the street as necessary to avoid bystanders and other obstacles. The entire time he kept an eye on the escaping murderer's progress, rapidly getting into range as he followed along. Up ahead he saw the best chance he was going to have to halt the chase. Racing along at full speed down an alleyway, he drove the armored motorcycle right up a sheet metal ramp and into the air, giving the engine everything he could. For a split second he was airborne parallel to the man as Steel went to kick him in the head. Making the most of an opening, he extended Justice and put his aura behind the throw, hurling the lance right at Rogo's legs. The moment that was done he kicked off of Slepnir and pushed it toward a rooftop where its armor would dull the force of the crash landing, empowering the jump with aura as well.
If all went well he should crash into the Butcher shield first with Purity fully extended and ready for a slash to the man's vitals, right after his lance and Steel's feet halted his forward momentum.

Momentum is a funny thing. Somewhere, in a deep recess of Janus' mind, that thought was present.
He'd found himself set on a path, some years ago. Right now, it was like everything had channeled him here. He'd tried to move out of the excessive killing in Atlas. Maybe something smaller, take out little pockets of White Fang here, burn out a pocket of Grimm, or tear down a Bandit clan. Whatever, moving in that direction would've been better. Collateral would happen. Death would come. It was the way of things.
But even before that? His upbringing. His training. His service to Atlas. It had pushed him in a direction, towards senseless destruction. Towards a reality where he'd be little more than a tool for someone else's needs and desires. Now it had taken years and years and miles and miles. A path of fire and corpses lay behind and in front of him. He wouldn't be able to turn from that path. Not quickly, not easily. Momentum, you see.
All this ran through somewhere in the back of Janus' mind. It'd likely join the nightmares. The teeth.
The forefront of his mind was a different place. He caught the sound of the cycle accelerating, the sheet metal rebounding. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see something thrown from an encroaching form. Another aggressor, shielded and armored. The pursuer dropped a clone in front of him, which immediately charged him to attack. So the clone could hurt him in all likelihood, but how? Aura based? Physical blow?
One was on an approach from the side, the other from the front, aiming to intersect him, with two threats at his back. For most, in midair, this would be a problem. Their momentum would see to it they'd take at least one hit.
Janus triggered his semblance and shot straight downward into a space between a block of shops. The lance passed over his head. His foes were too far behind him to stop him, or in midair with no way of changing their velocity. If they didn't collide, they'd still need to land and redirect, or close the distance. If they collided, he'd get some knowledge of one pursuers capability, most likely. His boots hit the ground, upending a trashcan, and he took off down the alley.
Momentum is a funny thing.

Catalina was wandering nearby purchasing ammo when that huge explosion flashed into his eyes some distance away. The light. The shockwave. The rubble. A second later his mind recovered and the next thing he knew is a man being attacked from all sides and manners, but still escaped leaving a much closer metal clang while rushing into the alley where Catalina is just close enough to draw his hammer and try to block him in his path. Wait, what the hell am I doing? Who care exactly who he is, the civilians in the building matters the most. Now I can only wait for his reaction for my next step...
Title: Re: Bombs over Vale [Open]

The reaction was near instantaneous. His eyes narrowed at the First Year student, then the Butcher seemed to vanish. As good as he was, as much training as he'd had, he didn't need his semblance to seem impossibly fast. He shot upward, ricocheted off the wall, and disappeared into the crowded streets, working as he went. His rifle split apart, forming the gauntlets, which he hooked into his belt. The hoodie was cast aside, revealing a simple, clean cut, button down shirt beneath it. One hand reached into his pocket, came back out, and ran through his hair. The gel in it slicked his hair back, colored it red, and held in place. On a quick glance, he looked to be someone completely different. He ducked his head and let his aura fade. Even if his pursuers caught up to him, they'd be hard pressed to pick him out of the crowd, and even less likely to get the streams of people to stop.
Somewhat a moot point, anyways. He'd get back to his place, break everything down, and lay low for a while. Maybe head to Mistral for a bit, try and stay with his old friends from before his breakdown, or maybe head back to Atlas, collect on some debts. Possibly even Vacuo. Lot of space to lay low in out there. The first thing, though, was going to be to get paid.
The last thing? Payback. Someone played him. Someone played him well. They'd have to get theirs, for that.
He glanced over at a young woman in the crowd and smiled politely.
Somewhere behind him, hundreds of civilians lay dead or dying, while dozens of rescuers, EMTs, students, and full fledged Huntsmen tried their best to save them.
Somewhere behind him one young Huntsman was in some very similar shoes to the ones he'd been in years ago. Hopefully his words would at least absorb some of that pain.
Somewhere behind him were the corpses of hundreds, buried outside of the light. Laid low in a shadow, cast by himself. A shadow filled with teeth and nothing else.
Somewhere behind him- right behind him his gauntlets clacked together as he walked. He could swear they'd been laughing.

This is assuming Atlas had record of Rogo's semblance, if that's not the case I shall edit. Let me know.
Damn! He'd given the Butcher too much time to react, that cursed semblance of his...enough complaining, the time for grousing was anything but now.
Narrowly avoiding getting kicked by Steel, he saw Justice embed itself solidly into a nearby roof, and twisted himself round to watch as his target began a mad dash down the alleyway. Making a hasty decision, he went to sling his shield at the back of the man's neck, only to halt as he went up and over a Beacon student in Miss Chanson's year so quickly that he would risk braining the near-useless bystander if he threw. Perfect.
After managing to land safely on the roof Justice was stuck in, he tore it out and hopped down, collapsing it and Purity as he went. Righteousness began folding back in on itself as he ran, as fast as his legs and aural enhanced speed could carry him, until it was back in suitcase form and his weapons were safely inside. He'd have to collect Slepnir later, there was no time for that now. Moving nimbly around the still bewildered student and now back in his usual suit and sunglasses, he took an educated guess on which direction the mercenary would have taken and followed that route, bringing him back out into the agitated hustle and bustle of Vale.
He matched pace with the sea of people and became just another businessman in the crowd, talking on his scroll. Except instead of rambling on about stocks and bonds and financing, he was speaking with the Police, relating everything he'd just seen, while keeping an eye out for the Butcher. Lemmy was also listening on the line, taking down the critical information and readying it to be passed on to Red and Dutch, along with the rest of the Chanson Security Force. Those two especially would be helpful in finding the man later, their skills in dealing with less than legal elements of society were about to earn them their keep yet again.
There. The hoodie was gone, the quick dye-job was excellent, but that was the monster's face. I have you now, you bastard...once a mass murderer, always a mass murderer. The police might say something different, the jury might decide something more palatable to the legal system, but Mr. Galahad harbored few doubts as to who was responsible for this atrocity. Damn! Vanished into the crowd! His anger and frustration hidden, he searched the area as best he could without drawing attention to himself or his manner, and came up short. This wasn't the first quarry he'd lost, and it wouldn't be the last. Training took over from passion, and he kept his bearing. He caught up with them all, sooner or later.
You had better hope to whatever gods you pray to, Janus Rogo, you had better hope with all your black heart that I don't catch up to you outside the Kingdoms, where Law does not reign. You'd better beg on your knees that I don't find you out in the wilderness some dark night. Because if I do, so help me, you'll get the same treatment as any other mad dog.

Eh... It was either his semblance or that he was really outskilled, but he's gone already. Well then,'Who is he?' He approached his pursuer, trying to get an idea of whats going on.

After his quarry shot downwards into an alley Cerulean leaped from the building and landed in the Alley just in time to watch the man disappear from it somewhere he wouldn't be able to follow. "Damn. Looks like the Butcher of Hollow Bay gets away unscathed again." With a sigh Cerulean begun making his way towards where the blast had been. As he passed the student standing in the road he made a quick comment as he passed. "Someone you shouldn't concern yourself with kid. Just get out of here with everyone else and let those who can be of use deal with this mess." and with that he went into the crowd and started moving against the flow. This was going to be a major pain in the ass but he needed to try and help out anyone in the buildings. _____________________________
Gray dashed through the collapsing building at a higher pace than was probably safe keeping his faunas ears high and alert listening for any sounds of someone who had survived the blast. At this point he had seen so many that hadn't that he'd stopped looking. Who the hell would do something like this. If it weren't for my aura I'd be just another one of these corpses. Why did all of these people have to die? As these thoughts entered his mind Gray felt tears welling up in his eyes half from emotions and half from smoke. Gray closed his eyes tightly to help get the tears out of them and as a result didn't realize the obviously damaged floor he was about to run onto. The floor collapsed beneath him and he found himself face to face with the blank stare of some poor girl around his age with long Auburn hair who clearly hadn't survived the blast. He recoiled from the corpse in panic until he reached a wall and he found himself staring at the unnaturally contorted form in front of him. The girl had clearly been some sort of bird faunas as there were wings sprouting from her form. One of which was bent the wrong way to reach the ground. Due to the twist Gray assumed she had been flung against the wall and her neck had broken on impact. He simply stared for a moment before his stillness was interrupted by his horror causing him to lean over and wretch onto the floor.

'That is, I should have been dead. Phew.' That being heard, he will have to go try to rescue people. Moving onto the sound source, he made a small no... that isn't audible to even himself upon the discovery of the shock in front of him but recovered quickly and used his semblance to excavate the concrete(or whatever this building is made of). Ten or so larger debris later he sat-fell in fatigue and checked for their life signals after a brief rest. 'This one's dead, this one's weak but he and she is easily alive...' He entered a tranquil fury in spite of all this. I swear one of them must be the perpetrators of this. He is so going to get a beating.

Jack was just starting to glisten with sweat when he overheard one of the victims bawl about their baby still being inside. Well, no time for a breather now. As the most vulture-like of the reporters zeroed in on the distraught woman, a slightly overweight cat faunus near-drowning in her own tears, Jack beat them to the punch. Yanking his shirt from his pocket, he calmly wiped away her tears as the cameras swung his way yet again. He was careful not to face them as if he were putting on a show, and gave all his attention to the woman he was now holding the shoulders of.
"Miss..." women loved being called that, it made them feel young even if they weren't...,"You said your baby was still trapped inside? I promise you I can get up there, what apartment are they in?"
"4B! Oh, she's only three, I'd just come out to get the mail, she's all by herself! Hurry! Gods save her, hurry!"
"Miss, just tell me her name, and I'll have her back in a minute." he went on, his voice rock-steady and honeyed.
"Chysanthemum, just call her Chrissy, she's a cat like me..." the woman burbled, calming as Jack put every effort into soothing her.
"Hang tight, I've got this!" he cried, giving her a thumbs up and a winning smile over his shoulder at her. He dashed over to a ladder truck that was positioning itself to better combat the blaze, and blinked his way to the edge of the ladder. Perching at its rising edge, he leaped from it just as the fireman started bringing the hose up from below, cannonballing himself through a window and letting his aura deal with the glass. Once inside he was almost overwhelmed by the choking heat, not to mention the smoke, and he wound up tearing his shirt to make an impromptu mask. 4B, 4B, 4B...where the hell is it...Well, there was a 4 on the door, the blast must have knocked the B loose. He kicked the door in and rushed forward, only to find...a dead bird girl and a puking Dogmeat. Fighting the urge to sympathy hurl, he decided to get his attention.
"Yo Saggio! Fancy meeting you here! Say, before we get out of here, I've got a kid to find. Think your ears can hear someone call back to us over this roar?" he shouted, trying to make himself heard over the din of the flames and the sirens outside.
Cherry wasn't thinking terribly clearly right about now. The smoke was getting to her, her semblance was getting to her, the fact that someone had probably set off an explosion in a faunus neighborhood was getting to her...she was a mess, and she looked it. Her ponytails had long since torn loose from their bindings, and her hair was everywhere. The skirt was torn in a dozen places, her mesh gloves were all but tatters, and everywhere she was covered in soot and grime. And still she powered her way up the side of the building, again and again, while that big Murk guy took care of the bottom floor. Actually, he wasn't running in anymore. She spied him lumbering over toward Cheri, that bitch, who was waving and jumping up and down about something. Wait, she was waving at her! Fucking what? Not now you silly cunt! There were...oh...she was trying to get Marlon to lift something. Oh fuck.
"Fucking shitballs." she hissed, and pushed off the wall, leaping as far as she could towards them just as Jack Fuckholebone smashed through the window she'd been hanging near.
Marlon wasn't tired by any means. No sir. He plugged on like a juggernaut, smashing in doors or through barriers where necessary, using his aura shielding to become a living battering ram. In some cases he locked it and allowed firemen to carry people out as he formed a human brace or shield, whatever they needed to do their jobs. When he came back into the light for about the tenth time, he was barely recognizable from all the ash and soot. Well, if you'd never seen him at work in his forge, that is. He wiped his brow and saw Cheri hollerin' at him, no, for him, to come on over. Taking a wild gander at what she might be needing, he jogged off, ready to put his brawn to use all over again.
One thing was for sure, he hadn't exactly expected to see this much death in Vale. Home was one thing, but Vale...Vale was like a paradise by comparison. And yet here he was, in paradise, surrounded by blood and fire. Hell...Shaking the thought off, he reached Cheri, and waited for an explanation.
Her ears straining, Cheri searched among the rubble as Jack and the paramedics worked. Every so often she glanced up and saw Dr. Holliday at a different stretcher, his suit coat cast off and his sleeves rolled up high, away from his bloodstained forearms. He was working quickly, and his shirt was soaked through with sweat. She was barely keeping it together herself with what little blood she was seeing...how in the world could he even stand it? Her stomach flip-flopped a little, and she almost missed the sound of shifting rubble beneath her feet. She paused. That wasn't just shifting rubble. It was a steady, frantic scratching. She crouched down, placing an ear to the slab of concrete beneath her. Someone was trying to dig!
"Hey! Can you hear me!?" she called, as loud as she could. The scratching intensified, and what to anyone else might have been only muffled screams came through as distinct, though still dampened voices. Two kids. An adult. Maybe a fourth, it was too weak to tell. "Just hold on, we're going to get you out!"
Where was someone who could lift this giant thing? Man, to be able to use aura right now...She strained for a second, as foolish as it was, and got nowhere. She tried digging around it a little, and had her aura fixing some scraped up hands for her abortive efforts. Wait, there was Marlon! And Cherry! They were strong! She began jumping up and down, shouting for them to come over. Marlon got there first, and listened to her explanation before starting to heft, his muscles bulging with the effort. Cherry arrived in a near crash-landing, looking worse for wear, silently flipped her off, and let her semblance do the talking. With her help, they had the slab up in no time at all. Cherry actually held the whole thing up as Marlon carried out the badly crushed father, the fourth voice Cheri had had trouble hearing, and Cheri got the wife and kids moving, doing everything in her power not to simultaneously cry and vomit at the sight of the mutilated man. They would have all died down in that partially collapsed basement, the wife said.
She couldn't handle it. She really couldn't. But she kept searching, through the tears, and after she'd been sick behind an ambulance. Marlon held her hair while he took a breather, and rubbed her back. Gods, this was all so horrible...how was he just standing there, as strong as ever...

Gray turned as he heard a voice and looked up at Jack with a tear soaked face. His vision was so blurred he couldn't even identify it as Jack at this point. "I can hear fine but there's no point. Everyone is dead. If it weren't for my aura I would be too." His voice was shaking as he spoke before he leaned against the wall and started coughing and gagging, almost throwing up again.

Solaris overheard the girl saying about her daughter and the room of 4b, she wasn't going to let a little girl die. Immediately she saw the ladder truck and made her way towards it. She threw off her gauntlets and ascended the ladder with minimal effort, scaling it quite fast, practically running up it and as she jumped through a window. As soon as she landed the fire was noticeably weaker, almost practically disappearing near her, she made her way through the room and seeing nobody she kicked the door down in front of her. Solaris looked at the doors now that she was in the hallway and looked at the doors around her. There were only a few left but they didn't give her a clear indication of which door could lead her to the cat faunas.
She entered a door and saw the two younger students. She didn't have time for the one on the ground so she grabbed him by his shirt and lifted him up. "There's nothing you could have done! Either get out and take the girl's body out so she can have a proper funeral, or help us find someone that could still be alive!" Solaris didn't wait for a response as she let go of his shirt and left the room, putting her right arm over her nose and mouth to stop some of the smoke in search of the girl amongst the smoke and flames that just seemed to die around her.

Catalina overheard about that girl too. And can you guys not use the ladder truck? What if it over balanced? But he have no idea where to search either, and it's at least floor 4. He can't reach it, not even with his semblance. Time to make use of my dust.. Actually, no, I have a better idea. He started to scoop away on the still huge pile of debris again, with his semblance, his hands, Take That!, whatever he have on hand, making him the only one seen working away on the ground. Even though he never really cared about being seen as a hero or not, this he knows is the right thing to do. A while later he is lying on the ground, helpless to even move a finger, panting heavily. He was thinking of what to do to help the survivors. He can do that, but it would be even more tiring...
He thinks, 'the most easily helped should probably be the first to receive help, and the conscious are those.' He walked to one of the more painful-looking people, transformed his weapon, and pulled the trigger... And shot a stimpack round onto his body. The face of the wounded, from paled of fear and pain, turned into relieve. Then Cat worked his plan. He put his hand onto the back of the person's head, and chanted.
"For it is in passing that we achieve immortality. Through this, we become a paragon of virtue and glory to rise above all, infinite in distance and unbound by death." While placing a hand on the person's chest, "I release your soul, and by my shoulder protect thee."
