On a warm sunny day with a cool breeze in the air a woman walked down the street towards a coffee shop, Alice opened the door and ordered a large cup of black coffee. She sent a message to her daughter Sonya telling her where to meet if she wanted to hang out with her old woman.

Sonya beat down a training dummy working up a nice sweat. She swung her blade and stopped an inch away from the dummy when she heard her scroll go off. She put her blade on her back and walked over to the device. She picked it up and smiled seeing it was from her mother. She sent her a message saying yes. She grabbed her gear and walked to her room.
[10 minutes later]
Sonya ran to the coffee shop, jogging a nice pace. She walked in and stopped jogging seeing her mother. She smiled and walked over to her with a happy expression. "Hi ma." She said hugging the girl.

Alice stood up and hugged her daughter with a huge smile on her face "Hello there.", letting her daughter go she looked her over and joakingly said "Judging from your hair I'd say you worked up a good sweat."

"You know me so well. How you been?" She asked with a smile. She sat down and smiled at her mother.

Alice sat down and after taking a sip of her coffee she said "I'm doing good, been trying to keep up and patch things up with your other siblings but I think your brother has a grudge against me for not being there for him. As for your sister she has just been so busy that she hasn't had the time.", Alice shook her head for a second stoping herself before saying "Anyway how have you been doing?"

"Ugh." She dropped her head and sighed. "I hate history class." She said looking up and groaned. "Other than that nothing much, been hunting down Grimm and such. " She said drinking from her canteen.

Alice chuckled and sipped from her coffee, she set down the cup and with a surprising amount of interest "As my history teacher once said to me "If we can't learn from our past then we are bound to repeat it"."

Sonya just rolled her eyes. "And if that happens, I'll be sure to keep that idiot brother of mine from going to Atlas. Or maybe trying new pranks out on sis." She said with a chuckle.

That caught Alice off guard as she was mid-swallow and coffee almost shot out her nose as she burst out laughing for a split second, once it was over she smiled at Sonya and asked "How well have you been getting along with them anyways?"

"Rabe has been putting teams through the ringer with challenges, and Anita's been drawing and such, I can barely get her out of her room." She said sipping her drink. "How have your journeys been? Go anywhere fancy?" She asked with a smile.

Alice shrugged and replied "Ehh unless you call this place fancy cause it has an AC unit.", she chuckled softly before correcting "Most of the places I go aren't fancy, that is your fathers domain. I on the other hand sacrifice fancy for adventure and the natural thrills of life.", she pulled out her scroll and pulled up a photo, taken from what seems to be the top of a large hill looking out over a forest with a gorgeous sunset shining bright red and orange.
Alice looked at Sonya and said "I sacrifice shiny silver and polished stone for moments like that." she had a huge smile on her face.

"So pretty! Can you send me a copy of that pic?" She asked drinking some water. "Where else you been?" She asked waiting to hear more tails of her mothers travels.

Alice chuckled and while sending the photo asked "Well it depends what region would you like to hear about your ma adventuring in?", she took another drink of her coffee and said "I've been to all of the continents and a good deal of the islands so the choice is yours."

Sonya thought a little. "How about Shade." She said waiting to hear her mother speak.

Alice set her cup down looking up at Sonya said "Vaccuo and Shade are shall we say... a hard place for a kid to grow up, if the people don't outright murder you, you're on the right track."
She thought back to her last visit and said "If you ever visit or go on missions there bring lots of weapon repair and cleaning supplies otherwise the people are the least of your worries, that sand will tare your equipment to shreds if you don't keep it cleaned.", she took another drink and continued "Anyways last time I had the opportunity to go to Vaccuo I was on a search and rescue, White Fang picked up a council members kid and as you can guess they where quite peeved about it. My mission was to find the kid and get him home."

"Oh Oh tell me more." Sonya said enraptured by the story. She smiled and listened to the story well. She had read about it but never saw the outcome, since she had a mission the next day and forgot about it.

Alice smiled at her daughters enthusiasm "Well this stays between us OK? The official report states that it turned violent when I got there, but the truth is when I found him, he and some friends of his where plastered turned out that it was all an elaborate ruse to have some fun and get drunk off their asses. They all begged me not to tell their parents a couple even offered me money to keep quiet.", she chuckled menacingly then said "I took their offers and we were about to head back when the sound of three large Deathstalkers could be heard charging at us."
Alice took a drink and then said "Well I think we both know how that turned out... with Deathstalker bits all over the sand. Then we headed back to Vaccuo and I held my tounge about what really happened, but as soon as those boys handed me the lien I was out the door getting a transport back to Vale."

Sonya just rolled her eyes. "If that was me or Anita you'd kick our asses." She said with a grin. "Either way sounds like you had fun." She said smiling.

Alice chuckled after taking a drink and said "You bet your ass I would, anyway their parents still seemed to find out about what really happened by an anonymous email sent the day I landed in Vale.", she only chuckled and wondered how in the hell she still had coffee in this cup.

"Anonymous uh?" She asked making a straight face. "Well I'm sure it was just a worried individual." She said with a wink. She laughed when she saw her mother still had coffee. "How is there coffee left?"

Alice was so confused and she looked up at Sonya and stared for a second before shrugging and saying "How the hell should I know.", it took her another few seconds before she downed the rest of the coffee then said "There all gone.", she checked the cup again just in case, seeing it empty she set it down "Yup all gone. Hey did you want to go somewhere or if nothing else just walk around town?"

"Sure! Let's go explore." She said happily. She finished off her water and sighed. "Water good." She said with a goofy smile.

Alice smiled and stood up before heading to go pay for the drink, after she paid for it she turned around, grabbed Sonya by the arm and marched (Nora style) out the door. Once outside Alice almost grabbed a blunt from her pocket but stopped herself halfway through, she looked up at her daughter and said with a smile "You know sometimes I still wonder where you got that amazing height, cause you sure as hell didn't get it from me."

"Meh. Dad says women in his family tend to be pretty tall." She said recalling her last visit there and meeting her aunt. She was taller than him and me. She said remembering the shocked look on her face.

Alice chuckled as she walked "So when was the last time you saw you're father? Last time I got to see him was well over a month ago.", she smiled as she remembered every moment she was with her beloved husband, the first thing she did after getting off that airship was hug him close not wanting to leave Hus side even though she knew it would come eventually.

"About three weeks ago. He was having some sort of event going on, and I opted for a chance to head over. Namely cause it was during down time here and I got sooooo boored." She said with a groan. "When I went over I met his sisters, they were taller than me." She said standing straight.

Alice shuddered "That's scary to think about, more so the sisters then the event.", Alice laughed before seeing a knight walking the streets ahead, her face stayed the same happy but her mood seemed to darken.

Sonya took notice of this and looked to her mother. "You okay ma?" She asked confused as to why her mood seemed to vanish. It was strange....all it took was a knight. I wonder what's up. She thought waiting on her mother's response.

Alice shook her head and said "Look at that knight and tell me what you see, cause I can almost bet you we see two vary different things.", her tone said she was serious and her fave matched it.

Sonya stared at the knight intently. Thinking long and hard about it. "A robot that took a lot of money and resources to build?" She asked continuing to stare deeply at the robot. Staring so hard she wanted to see if robots could feel nervous.

Alice chuckled "While that is true in a literal sense, I see a soldier with no morals of what is right and what is wrong, they have no fear, no love, and no self preservation, they are an army of machines that can be controlled by anyone at any time. Without warning those things could turn against the people they where supposed to protect.", the knight looked their way before turning the other way and walking off.

Sonya shrugged. "True but those things are like cans. And I'm-" She said raising her hammer high up. "The trash compacter!" She said boldly with a goofy smile. She looked to her mom and just smiled sweetly.

Alice laughed at her daughters goofyness and said "Well if that's the case then I guess that makes me a shredder.", she wrapped one of her arms around Sonya's torso as far as she could and said "We are some goofy people.", her mood seemed to brighten significantly.

Sonya just laughed with her mother. "I get it from you." She said rubbing her mother's hair. She would hug her but if she did she would possibly embarrass her. "So you heading out anytime soon? If not we could spar a little." She said hoping to have a match with her mom for old time sakes.

Alice liked it when Sonya rubbed her hair brushing against her ears every now and then "I don't have another mission lined up for another month so I'm open."

Sonya smiled. "Yay!" She said smiling. She saw her mother's ears and tilted her head. She smiled and began to rub her ears. Soooo....soft...CANT RESIST! She said giving into her obsession of cute things. She began to rub her mother's ears with a goofy look on her face.

Alice tilted her head giving Sonya better access to her ears before softly purring cutely, her ears twitched at the attention. She walked with her daughter to go spar purring the whole time her ears where being rubbed.

[Skip to arena]
Sonya had petted her mother's ears the whole trip and finally stopped when she arrived. So cute. She thought with a smile. She readied her weapon and looked it over. "So rules?" She asked glancing her weapon over.

Alice laughed "A mother should train her kids to be ready for the world so basic torny rules.", she whipped out her twin ring blades and spun them in intricate patterns around her body then said "Whenever you're ready."

Sonya smiled and readied her blade. She would need to move fast. Sonya charged at her mother swinging in a diagonal slash, looking to clip her shoulder.

Alice danced out of the way with a flurry of blades to make sure she wasn't hit, she followed up with five slashes aimed at Sonya's side saying "Gotta be quicker then that If you plan on hitting me."

Sonya dropped her sword next to her shoulder and deflected her mother's attack. "Come on, do I look like that smart ass Rabe?" She asked turning her blade into a hammer and bringing it down on the ground trying to shake her up.

Alice jumped backwards too keep from being thrown off balance while she said "Nope but I know you're faster then that." , then she threw both of her weapons at Sonya one aimed for her legs the other at her torso.

Sonya du her hammer down deep to protect her legs as for her torso she bent backward and back flipped before rushing to her hammer. Sonya grinned and stared at her mother she had a plan....an evil plan, but first she had something else to do. "That the best you have?"

Alice smirked and for a brief moment everything seemed still even the air seemed not to move, then Alice twitched her pointer fingers and the blades spun to life in the air before shooting back to Alice's sides and slowly spinning them around her body. She made the blades pulse in and out as she kept them spinning around her body she used this tactic to keep Sonya back until she was god and ready.

Sonya shook her head at this. She created an aura horn and shouted into it. "FOR GLORY!!" She shouted as loud as she could, looking to harm her mother's senses. She put her horn away and drew her blade charging at her mother looking to attack her legs.

Seeing the horn Alice's ears shot down to avoid taking the full brunt of the blast but it still made her ears twitch in annoyance and start ringing, she even stumbled back a bit. As Sonya charged her Alice's blade Rend flipped on its side planting itself in front of Sonya's blade as Alice backed up giving herself some time to prepare for her next attack.
Once she was ready she activated Rends dust adaptability and it shot out glass shards as she threw Zip right at Sonya's hip going for the joint in her armor.

Sonya saw the dust activate and knew she wouldn't have time to dodge. Instead she reached back and grabbed her shield to deflect the attack on her hip. She continued to push her mother back using her superior power.

Alice smirked as her daughter blocked the attacks and as she pushed forward past the blade. As soon as Sonya was close enough to strike at Alice both blades went into a frenzy attacking Sonya from both sides as Alice just stood there waiting to see what her daughter would do.
