CQC Behavior
Evading/Parrying/Counterattacks- This is casual faire most of the time, since she always starts with the approach: Be ready for everything! She can evade and parry "soft" hits by using her ballet movements casually, and counterattacking (again, with ballet, but also some round kicks and/or spin kicks), in response. Heavy attacks will require her to evade/parry (through either spin dodging, or acrobatics such as flips, rolls, etc.), usually in a fast, complex manner, but, if possible, tries to be in a position where she can return the favor. She is able to perform several complex moves, but those can be interrupted if the opponent can outspeed her. Anyone with lighter armor, quicker reflexes, or a speed-boosting semblance, can do that, but ones with heavier armor, are a bit/a lot easier to counter (varies with her opponents' abilities, actions, limits and what not).
Her purpose in doing these, are basically her attempts to conserve energy, and observe her opponents' capabilities.
Strikes- Due to her conservative combat styles, she only truly engages in offense if she feels as if she's safe, in taking that risk.
Her "soft" ballet hits are good enough to equate as punches, kicks etc. but ultimately take too long if she decides to defeat them with this.
Her heavy strikes can be simple or complex, though with varying consequences. Simple, heavy (SH) strikes need quite a bit before she can give it an extra oomph, but, a sudden SH strike might cost her her aura to heal from the recoil damage (otherwise, the injury will develop into a detriment in further battle/s).
In theory, she can place all her efforts in a SH strike, but she'll only really be able to perform what's humanly possible with her aura, and strength (most of it is her human strength). She'll also be vulnerable for a few minutes, at least, if she ever does this.
Her complex, heavy (CH) strikes consists of devastating feats of acrobatics, ballet, or spin kicks. Thing is, if they're opponent is quick enough (or recover enough), they can dodge, block, or worse, interrupt these. Her CH strikes are powerful, but, she only risks doing these if she has placed her opponents' in a position where they can't defend themselves physically. (She'll stop attacking if she sees her opponents' aura blur out, or if they've fainted for some reason. She won't kill anyone.) She cannot abuse these since, these fatigue her rather quickly if she decides to do those too much, too fast! She knows she must take caution in doing so.
Defending- Her armor is not the best, but it is functional. Opponents, who are smart/who have learned enough, know that her armor has several weak points [the space between her greaves and cuisses, helmet and pauldrons, her stomach and lower back in general, etc., look at her battle attire for a more clear idea], this is part of the reason why she evades/parries so much. Another reason is that her armor, and aura can't block too much, since her plates are light-weight, and, though it can save her for a few blows, it is simply not as strong as regular plates. Without her aura, her armor won't be able to defend her during long battles. That is why she often maintains her armor/weapons each day, if applicable, since they're a bit easier to break. She can fight in clothes other than her armor, though her chances of survival are noticeably slim without it, and aura.
Chainwielding/Xiphos Swordwielding/Chain Bracers
Though not a master, her skills in these prove to be functional due to Aoteien-sensei's teachings. It took her around 6 years (10 til 16) to fully learn these movesets.
Blows/Whips
"Soft" blows (from the blunted weight), and ("soft") whips are generally used to bait, and test her opponents' abilities. Though swift, it generally doesn't deal that much damage unless her opponent is, like, really weak (low HP and DEF) or something. To her, again, this is casual faire. It takes little effort to do this, and, she can recover quickly if her attacks are batted away, or interrupted.
Medium blows/whips from these are generally used to defend/parry against weapons against close quarters. Heavy blows/whips from these, are usually in tandem with her cqc skills for maximum effect! Again, complex* moves can be disrupted.
Ensnaring
If she decides to do this, she cannot be reckless! Due to her weapon's construction, she has to use her aura to prevent it from being cut, especially when attempting to snare her opponent's weapon. Snatching an average sword is a bit easier, but snaring a great sword, or sharper swords in general, is a bad idea. Because she has to prioritize her weapon to not be cut. In general, and/or in public places, she does not ensnare with her xiphoses attached.
with her two xiphos attached (to her chain)
During normal/class missions, or duels, she may choose to attach her xiphoses to her chain. "Soft" whip slashes are, again, generally used to bait, and/or test her opponent/s, with medium whip slashes used to defend/parry, and heavy for complex moves. If the edges hit her target, her foe might have to prioritize in defense, or healing, for obvious reasons. Usually, these short swords are used to whip slash her opponents, generally not using them for its (the swords')... intended purpose.
chain bracer/s
When wrapped on one, or both of her forearms, or lower legs (and clasping their respective chain patches), her chains, as an alternative, can generally be used as bracer/s to assist her defensively in close combat. Her arms feel a bit heavy, though. If she is not using her aura to fortify them, they may become cut, or battered by her opponents' cqc weaponry, forcing her to use her semblance in order to keep her chains together.
RQC (Ranged Quarters Combat) Behaviour
Aoteien-sensei trained her in this simply because long-ranged destructive projectile weapons are commonplace. This generally involves her using her cqc skills/chainwielding, while running to safety, if her chances of safety are low (which is most of the time).
Due to her training, surviving some projectile users is a bit easier if she is up close with its users (though her chances of getting shot is... pretty high, especially with miniguns, and the like), but, even with this, her chances of survival are still low. Inexperienced users, if they're close, may find themselves disarmed by her cqc skills/chainwielding, though users who are more proficient, up close will likely kill her in a few shots, if she chooses not to retreat. Experts are most certainly out of the question!
During long-ranged bouts, she can try and triangulate her foes' shots, and determine what type of projectile weapon they're using through sound (she can't tell the exact model, but she can say its basic types, like if it's an assault rifle, or a submachine gun, just to name a few). If her chances are high enough (exceedingly rare, if without allies), she could pursue a foe, but she usually retreats.
Alternatively, she can use her chain (attached to one of her leg's sets of chain patches), in tandem with her breakdancing (from capoeira), or her other, general cqc skills, if applicable.
Graem's complex moves are somewhat elegant, if a bit too flamboyant, and are strong, but they're also risky since disrupting her mid-move is a good way to cripple her temporarily, or permananently (if done right, of course).
She is able to throw things that are almost one-and-a-half her weight (209.5 kg), that she, or her chain, can hold onto.
If her foes' are smart enough (they've paid attention somewhat in their combat classes/training), or instinctive enough, they'll know that her type of chain weapon can be easily disrupted with average, simple precision, if they're focused enough. However, she does make efforts to hit stronger, and quicker, her weapon is usually hard to follow, after all.
Her cqc moveset is usually not easy to interrupt simply because most of the time, she'll be very cautious, and will only take significant risks if she thinks she's safe. If not, her damage is usually low, generally because she's evading/blocking/parrying whenever applicable.
Though her chain/xiphoses help, she isn't overly reliant on her weapon. If she happens to be disarmed, or unarmed, in general, she's able to use her cqc skills without fuss (though she does try to get her weapon, if possible).
Also, if she's using her armor, or heels, she generally fails at stealth, since they're loud, and sticks out like a sore thumb during battles.
By exercising, and eating healthy for most of her life, she is physically very capable. She exercises and strives to better herself each day. Her records are as follows (these can be achieved without aura use):
-she can jump up to 5.8ft, in armor (around, 1.75m)
-sprint for up to 15mph (around 6.7 meters per second) in her armor, for a short period of time
-capable of using her cqc, and weapon tactics, in armor, while running at 8mph (3 meters per second)
-can bench 196kgs, squat 220kg, and deadlift 209.5kg.
These are what Google told me:
-Becca Swanson, according to Wikipedia and other sources, is known by many as the world's strongest woman. Weighting 140 kgs, she is able to deadlift 310 pounds, squat 478 kgs, and bench 270 kgs. I know for a fact that these numbers are lower than what the strongest human male can accomplish. Graem is doing her best to reach world records in-universe.
-Humans can usually run at an average of around 8mph, when in a marathon. Faster people, in average, have about 15mph as their maximum speed, for a short period of time.
-Stefka Kostadinova is the current record holder for women's high jump (6.9 ft approx.)
Graem's fighting style consists of somewhat advanced ballet and gymnastics, some aspects of taekwondo and capoeira, somewhat proficient chainwielding, and is somewhat trained, in combat, against ranged oppositions. Usually, in a team situation, she is able to either provide support, in terms of close combat, or fight in solitude, either or. She doesn't mind working with others, nevertheless, she warns them beforehand in some polite variant of: "This. *points to armor* This is loud. You may stay behind me (for support), but for safety reasons, don't come near me, unless you can mind the chains, and not interrupt my movements, or when I'm clearly retreating." She fights in a manner that is fluid, overtly elegant, yet apathetic, and almost burlesque (but not quite). In close combat, she plans her moves ahead (even when enacting some of her plans) and will execute them in proper form when necessary. Her armor, and abilities disallow her to focus on just an action (such as only defending, for one), so she has to mix and match between her many options in order to outlast, outsmart, or at least, survive her combatant/s (or killers). She is not a master of any of her weapon's styles and martial arts, (or ballet, and gymnastics, for that matter), and the ones that specialize in those can outmatch, outmaneuver, and/or overpower her. Foes that specialize in smarts, evasion, defense or strength could outdo her, in those traits, as well. She is conservative of her strength, and exercises caution as best as she could with each thought, and movement. If her chances are high enough, she will take each and every opportunity to strike down a dangerous threat with careful precision. Due to these, she usually lasts long in many fight/s in close quarters.
Projectile users are different matters entirely, however. Graem is trained enough to defend, and/or evade against some of them at a distance, with varying degrees of success (from possibly easy low-ranged users, to unreasonably distanced snipers), though the fact remains that she is heavily disadvantaged against them. Again, if her chances are reasonably high, she could pursue and subdue a ranged foe, but chances like those are exceptionally rare. In most cases, if she has little to work with, she must retreat and defend as best as she can. Or else bad things happen, on Graem's end, at least. On a somewhat lighter note, her few siblings and many cousins asked her why she fights in the aforementioned manner, when it is much simpler performing shorter, more focused hits, or making a gun and shooting with it, either or. It is simply because those options are what her family has taught her (and Aoteien-sensei), and, due to their efforts she is somewhat thankful (to those that taught her), proud because she has lasted this long with what they have provided.
Graem's overall skills/reflexes are best described as average (enough that she doesn't hurt her herself while using her weapon, or cqc skills), yet enduring, but is not close to fully-mastered. During most of her cqc fights, she generally lots of options, but with average first-year strength. Her heavier hits, and quicker dodges may surprise her foes, though. If with chains, she generally fights cqc battles around a consistent 1.5-2 metres, along with her cqc skills to push her target/s back if they get too close. If without, her cqc is equal to an average first year, but she could surprise her foes, again, with her heavy hits, and quick reflexes. Any sort of particularly strong, quick and/or complex skills can't be used too much, too fast! Otherwise, she'll lose her stamina (which is normally above average). She is almost always conservative, observant, careful and methodical, so generally, she lasts long in most of her battles.
