Title: First year team at Beacon (4/4)
Post by: The Mythic Scribe on December 24, 2016, 09:58:30 AM
Alright ladies and gents, seeing as some people have left the site, Arc and I have found some of our characters lacking a team. Honestly, all of my characters' teams have been effed up, but Prim's team doesn't really exist anymore to be fixed.

So yeah. Primrose Aster's up, in my signature, and Arc's character Fallow Russet too. Any takers, post below. Not first come first serve, yada yada yada...

Team Name-Pending has been formed! Consists of:
Akeldama Blood-heart (http://rwby-rpg.rwbyfanon.com/index.php/topic,724.0.html)
Ace N. Thaholl (http://rwby-rpg.rwbyfanon.com/index.php/topic,740.0.html) (I see what you did there. Well, Arc did and he pointed it out, so now I see what you did there)
Primrose Aster (http://rwby-rpg.rwbyfanon.com/index.php/topic,138.0.html)
Fallow Russet (http://rwby-rpg.rwbyfanon.com/index.php/topic,35.0.html)

Posting so people have easy access to my signature. Also have fun with the dis-functionality that comes with Prim and Fallow to any takers :P

One word, Arc. And usually dysfunctionality, though dis- works as well because it's the actual Latin root and function is a Latin word. Except for the fact that dys- means something akin to mal where dis- represents more of a lacking connotation. I guess that you could use them in a way where dys- meant it was bad functionality and dis- no functionality at all, but to me the lines are kind of blurred there.

I'll just be giving Akeldama Blood-Heart (http://rwby-rpg.rwbyfanon.com/index.php/topic,724.0.html) a shot at a team.

Would it be alright to toss Ace in this team? He might fit the magic theme I am noticing.

Alrighty then, Arc and I have made our decision. Ace and Akel are accepted into team Dysfunctional Name Pending! Now for team names and leaders.

P / A
A / B
A / T
F / R

I have no ideas and am complete shit at names. So I'll leave that to you guys. I only have PFBA- Puffball or AAAR-Air. Maybe AART-Art.

For leader, not Prim. Definitely not Prim. Unless you want to have all of your characters killed, in which case we can just name ourselves Team Suicide and you'll get to put a deceased tag on your characters' names. With the options we have, i'm thinking that Akeldama'll be the most capable to lead the team. Or we can throw a twist in and make Ace the leader... But the most competent would be Akeldama in my opinion.

I have ABTR or ARBT as a team name suggestion - Arbiter.

I vote team BTRA (betray), not only following the loose theme (mostly in Ace's case but it works), but if Akeldama is leader then her initial is first (a minor detail but still)

So I vote for BTRA. Arbiter sounds cool, but if Akeldama is going to be the team leader then it would just follow the team naming rules a bit better with the leader first.

Sidenote: All HAIL CHRIS PRATT *deep respect gesture*

Hey, as long as you can make the color rule work, even if far-fetched...

I suppose yellow could be used since it is the color of betrayal, far-fetched but could work.

Worls for me.

Okay then. Guess that's it. Uh, colors then. Do we want to go with something like Lemon Chiffon or a little something brighter like Lemon? Maybe mellow it down with Babouche? What about adding some orange, like in Naples Yellow? Maybe Gold? Maybe we can add a little green like in Primrose Yellow?

So whaddaya think? Any other suggestions? I'll be honest here, yellow is my least favorite color so I won't be of much help.

I'm up for the Gold as the color. It will be a bit easier on the eyes (though that might just be me).

I'll post the team name in the thread because we all seem to be in agreement from the replies I got from the messages that I sent out. Also on a note feel free to use the pictures in your character profiles. Just make sure they know it was me that did it. With referencing and posing help thanks to your input and the internet.  :)

Alright, so now that the team's set up and all, whaddaya all say about an initiation? If so, do you guys want to run it ourselves or do you want to ask a mod? (By 'a mod' I mean most likely Jibbs. I almost feel bad for how many initiations he has to run.)

Also, as a little 'team-building' thing, Edge and I thought up a thing where perhaps Prim and Akel would drag along Fallow and Ace out to town. On a shopping and maybe just looking around thing. Because blah blah getting to know each other. And because fun. Whaddaya think?

I definitely think we should do both threads. Whether or not we get someone to run our initiation i don't know.

You probably should get a third party to run it - at least DM the Grimm. It's just better practice, keeps everyone on edge since none of the teammates' authors know what's going to happen.

Alright, that's 3 for the yes column. August, care to weigh in on the shopping thread?

And Edge, initiation? August, weighing on this would in fact be nice too.

Yes for initiation. Having someone control the Grimm would be also a plus. We just need to keep it consistent with the posting order to make sure we don't get any mix-ups and we'll be good.

For Initiation, I just want to suggest that some sort of plot be put in place. I personally think the whole "go into the woods and kill Grimm" isn't very interesting on it's own. Just putting it out there. As far as the shopping thread goes, It could be nice but i don't think Ace is the shopping type so something interesting would be bound to happen. Not my call in the end but there is my opinion.

August, that's exactly why I liked the idea. Fallow and Ace don't really seem to be the shopping type, so I thought that they'd be able to raise some hell or have a few shenanigans. Plus, it won't be all shopping. Alright, three votes for yes and one neutral. Guess that means team BTRA will be going out on the town?

And uh, Jibbs/JJB doesn't always just do 'go into the woods and kill Grimm,' and even when it is that, it's never really dull or boring, usually with some kind of challenge or thing. How does that sound?

So who will have the honors of creating the thread? I don't want too but I'll do it if everyone wants to.

I'll do it I guess.

Note: Remember everyone, if you reference the initiation, which is already not a good thing to do, be vague.

Alright, just a bump here about the initiation.

Also, I started the shopping thread: http://rwby-rpg.rwbyfanon.com/index.php/topic,816.0.html

A stab at team building... Get it? Because betraying someone is stabbing them in the back? And this is team Betray? No? Okay...

Dammit. And the old shopping thread would've been so good.
