Got it!
1. Carnation Prescott (http://rwby-rpg.rwbyfanon.com/index.php/topic,259.0.html)
2. Helena Chlophyll (http://rwby-rpg.rwbyfanon.com/index.php/topic,618.0.html)
3. Eamon Larkspur (http://rwby-rpg.rwbyfanon.com/index.php/topic,569.0.html)
4. Shiro Aikurushii (http://rwby-rpg.rwbyfanon.com/index.php/topic,799.0.html)
-
I believe Anna and Helena are technically available. You can end up picking whichever.
-
Eamon's (http://rwby-rpg.rwbyfanon.com/index.php/topic,569.0.html) been in Limbo for a couple months, now.
-
Why don't we go with Helena. We'll put Eamon in too. Build a team entirely of upbeat happy nice guys/gals.
-
Don't look now, but our team of happy, upbeat Huntsmen currently reads "HEC_". I don't suppose there's a 'K' student running around teamless?
-
Well you know what else we could make with a K...
CHEK please!
-
Dammit, Floob :P
-
So Shiro Aikurushii (http://rwby-rpg.rwbyfanon.com/index.php/topic,799.0.html) is still pending review but I think she'd make a great addition to the team. I've contacted Blanc and agreed to reserve the spot, so we'll have a full team when Shiro's approved.
-
Cool!
-
Congrats to Malus, Shiro has been approved!
-
Yup yup, now we just need a name and leader! n_n
I wanna run the initiation if that's alright.
-
I'm cool for the inish.
Name-wise, wehave:
C P
H C
E L
S A
-
Same here, I'm cool for the initiation. Probably best if someone more familiar with the site takes leader.
For names, there's
CHES (Chess?), CHSE (Choose? Cheese?), CESH (Cash or 'sesh' for session), CEHS (Case? Kiss?), CSHE (Cushy), CSEH (...Quasar with a Boston accent?), HECS (Hex, or Hecks, if you like), HESC (Nothing except a terrible hill in England (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hesk_Fell)), HSEC (Seek, or Sec), HSCE (Husk or Husky), HCSE (Cuss?), HCES (Kiss or Case again), ESCH (Etch or M. C. Escher), ESHC (Esquire? Escape?), EHCS (X, or ex), EHSC (Ace? Ask?), ECHS (Etches, or Ashes), ECSH (Yeesh, at a stretch), SCHE (Ski?), SCEH (Scare with a Boston Accent, possibly Ska if you're reaching), SHEC (Check, evidence that I should have named my character Raymond so we could be Team SHRK), SHCE (Shiki), SECH (Sitch, or possible Sake), and SEHC (Same as SECH).
-
Hello team!
Finally, after almost a month she got approved. >.< Im up for the initiation too.
-
Oh, thanks for running through those, Vwyx! We've got a few good names in there. If we need to come up with something else, it's okay to use last initials if we need to.
I like to select one name for every first initial, so that whoever we choose as leader can be first. That said...
I like CHES (Chess) for Cara. Wish I could do black with a white shadow or vice versa but I think the best we can do is just white. I experimented with alternating black/white but the black letters were unreadable.
For Helena, I really like HSCE (Husky).
Eamon's a tough one... For now out of Vwyx's suggestions I'm leaning towards EHCS (X) but I'll let you know if I come up with anything better.
And finally, if Shiro's the leader, I like SHCE (Shiki) with the added bonus of it being cool enough for Shiro. :P
-
Every option sounds pretty cool (no pun intended). It is true that its a tough choice for Eamon if he is going to be the leader. I suggest that we should decide who the leader will be first and then decide the team's name, if everyone is okay with that.
-
Am I correct in interpreting that Vwyx does not want Eamon considered for leader? That's what your statement, "best if someone more familiar with the site takes leader" would seem to imply.
These are the leadership qualities I see in the other three:
Cara:
+Devoted to others more than herself, and has a background in community service to back it up
-A poor strategist, preferring to rely on instinct rather than planning
Helena:
+Sees the good in everyone and everything. Loves to be helpful.
-Naive and potentially clumsy, seems to lack situational awareness
Shiro:
+Has a strong front that makes us seem like we're not just a bunch of layabouts.
-Simply not having strong enough positives, honestly. Sorry Malus! >.<
-
...Honestly, I currently don't know who to vote for. Will read all profiles tomorrow and post.
-
Same for me. :)
-
Well, after reading, I'd go with Carnation "Cara" Prescott for leader.
-
I'm fine with that. So are we team CHES then?
-
Let's wait for everybody to pitch in first, mmkay?
-
I'm fine with that as well.
-
Yes, Team CHES seems fine to me. (And that was what I meant.)
-
So, CHES = chess? With a combo of colours reminiscent of a checkerboard?
-
White and grey, since black doesn't show up too well.
CHES
or
CHES
Unless there are any other ideas?
-
Color scheme is debatable but you can unofficially use it if you'd like.
-
Or CHES. Simpler, so less of a headache (perhaps).
Or CHES.
-
Well, the team list does say that dual color names are allowed if and only if the name cannot be properly conveyed by color in any other way... I believe this is one of those cases. That said I've never gotten a text shadow to cooperate with me and the black is actually unreadable as its own standalone thing. Either way the team name with color isn't something we'll have to post very often.
Also to address Nathan, maybe save the sass until there's a legitimate reason to use it, "mmmmmmmmmmkay?"
-
Lel, noted.
And I just clicked 'Glow' and changed the 'red' to 'black'.
Or CHES. Simpler, so less of a headache (perhaps).
Or [glow=white,2,300]CHES[/glow].
EDIT: But isn't a bit of friendly sass fun?
-
Dual colors are supposed to be disallowed but I decided to make exceptions for really good words that would absolutely require two specific colors (I think that Chess has a little too much wiggle room for each color[white-beige, black-mahogany] and it specifically more relies on contrast rather than two specific colors; also worth noting is that I also disallow dual colors for patterns even if they are unable to be represented by a single color). One general rule of thumb (for me) is that if I feel any sense of doubt in the colors-to-word connection, it's a no-go. The other rule of thumb is that EKLS/Eclipse is the baseline for entry and if a connection feels weaker than that then it's a no-go as well. Perhaps with the way it's written now, it makes getting dual colors sound like it's easier to get than I intended it to be.
-
So, is the outlined version that Nathan posted OK?
-
To me it sounds like its a no, Vwyx.
-
How about Beige and Saddlebrown? CHES
Or
Beige and Dimgray? CHES
I think both of them would be fine.
-
KAL, PLEASE CLEARLY INDICATE IF THIS IS OKAY
-
Actually, all in all, we could just go with pure white. White moves first, and I've seen a few (I have one at home) chess sets which are variations of white and entirely transparent.
So, what say you guys? If I get a majority of positive replies, I'll post in the Team List.
EDIT: Well, okay, maybe not white but a colour reminiscent of frosted glass or something. Seeing as white already exists as a team.
EDITWO: Came up with these with the power of the eyedropper tool, online version: F8F8F8 E4E4E4 D5D5D5 CACACA
-
If we wanted to go the frosted glass route, maybe #DDDDFF? Just adding a bit of a bluish tint to it? I could mess around some more but honestly team color isn't a huge deal, I'd rather just settle on something so I can officially get us started.
-
Right. I just googled 'frosted glass chesspiece' and used a colour picker on various points of a pawn.
-
That's a good idea. I like Floob's proposal for the team's colour.
On a side note, I actually have one of those frosted glass chess sets! >:3
-
Me too! :D
-
Yay! :3
-
Well, heck, it works for me!
I think I used to have one of those frosted glass sets, but I have no idea where it could be.
-
A'ight then, posting in Team List with Floob's colour.
-
Hey guys, I got the initiation thread started! (http://rwby-rpg.rwbyfanon.com/index.php/topic,873.0.html)
Don't really care what order you guys decide to post. I suppose we could go with Helena next, just because she's second in the name?
-
Yessir!
-
If I may say, Frosted Glass looks goddamn gorgeous. Way better than what B&W would have looked like, guaranteed.
-
Why thank you, kind sir!
