"Thanks for the lift" Cordelia said as she waved the taxi man away. She set her bags on the ground and with a sigh, turned around to see the shining Beacon Academy still in its place. After a long 3 week trip (permitted of course) with her older sisters, Dahlia and Regan, she could use a quiet session in the library. She looks around at the students bustling around as they carry on their business. She lifts her bags and casually walks down the pathway towards the school.
-
Talen spent the majority of her morning cleaning up the dorm room the second she heard Cordelia was coming back. Three whole weeks without her best friend got her gloomy and moody so it didn't bode well with the state of their room. Bags of chips everywhere, empty tubs of ice cream piling up in the corner, windows left open during the night to let the breeze come in and sometimes bring dust from the outside. In short it was something short of a nightmare. It took the majority of her time to get everything in order but she had experienced enough scolding from Cordelia to know how to at least clean up properly. Well, at least she thought she did a good job.
Rushing to the courtyard, Talen ran back and forth between airdocks and the main gate trying to catch her friend coming in and eventually caught sight of her next to two other girls. Not thinking twice Talen dashed over to Cordelia in a head on sprint and leapt towards her with arms held out wide shouting, "CORDY!!!!!!!!!!YOU'RE BACK!!!!
-
It was too late. She was exhausted and should've sensed her coming but it was too late. By the time she realized that Talen found her, she was on the ground sliding on the ground with the faunus on her stomach. She felt the pain but shook herself back to reality. "H-hey Talen." She smiled at her friend, patting her friend's head. "I see you missed me." She looked around at the other students just staring at their current positioning. "Can you get off me?"
-
"O-oh right. Sorry. Ehehe. Talen said, hopping off while smiling sheepishly. "Why didn't you call me sooner? I was bored.
Talen, being stuck at the dorms the whole time, fidgeted the second she noticed the two other girls accompanying Cordelia. Though they had some similar features they seemed to differ greatly from one another to the point where Talen started thinking she might be replaced. With a worried look on her face she quickly bowed and rapidly said, "I'm Talen, Cordy's best friend. Pleasure to meet you and sorry but you can't take her away from me because I'll be left alone and- and -and...
Lifting her head her eyes started tearing up and she rubbed the ends of them with her green scarf, sniffling as she cling on to Cordelia again once she stood up.
-
The two women look at Talen and look at Cordelia. The oldest woman (http://www.otakuvines.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/Revy-Black-Lagoon.jpg) crossed her arms and looked at Cordelia. "Who's this Cordelia?" The cuter woman (http://img11.deviantart.net/7834/i/2016/273/f/9/cassie___paladins__2_versions_available__by_sciamano240-dajdnp2.jpg) giggled. "Your girlfriend? I didn't know you went THAT way Cordy!"
Cordelia stands up and brushes herself off. "Come on, stop..." she said at her sisters. "Talen, calm down. I was gone for a short time. It couldn't have been that bad."
-
Talen sniffled and went back to drying her eyes, blushing at the cuter woman's comment.
"N-no, I don't think we're like that. She managed, fidgeting as the older one looked down at them with a stern look. "I mean we're just friends and I don't think Cordy likes anything that way...maybe books?
Realizing what she just said she bowed repeatedly saying sorry to Cordelia, her scarf flailing about before she settled down. Looking at Cordelia, Talen frowned and said, "Well, it was that bad. The others also went home, and father was busy in Haven on mission. That meant leaving me here with nothing but all the snacks left over and not even a proper friend to talk to.
-
Cordelia blushed and turned to her sisters. "No, Dahlia. This is my friend, Talen." She sighed and turned to Talen. "These are my sisters, Regan and Dahlia..." she said as she pointed to the respective sister.
"She looks young....and naked...How long do you expect to survive out on the field?" Regan said sternly.
"Well, I think she's cute." Dahlia replied to her sister.
"Please....stop..." Cordelia stands in front of her sisters, cutting them off.
"You didnt trash the place in your perpetual boredom, did you?" Cordelia said, lifting her eyebrow and placing her hands on her hips.
"Do you two share a bed?" Dahlia said poking around Cordelia with a smirk.
"I'd rather stay outside, roughing it. True grit." Regan lit a cigarette.
-
Face blushing furiously and whole body fidgeting unstoppable, Talen stammered to get a word in , first to greet the sisters, next to answer questions, but she was cut off every time by even more embarrassing accusations. Staring at her own body first, then recalling the mess she just barely managed to clean up, then thinking of sleeping in the same bed as Cordelia, then something about doing something outside?
Her head spun and she quickly stuttered out an unintelligible mess of that sounded oddly like, "I-I think this is dec- thank yo- er, a litt- sometimes? Outsi- huh?
-
Cordelia sighed. "Focus Talen. They're just being nuisances." She leaned down and picked up her bags. "Let's get back to the room." Cordelia smiled and started the walk.
Regan let out a grunt, flicked her cigarette away and followed Cordelia, leaving Dahlia to walk with Talen.
Dahlia began to walk, a little slower for Talen to catch up, with her hands behind her head. "Beacon is a beautiful school. Not saying Atlas wasn't too bad." She said to Talen with a wink.
Ahead, Talen could see Regan talk to Cordelia and by the looks of it, it looks like Regan is talking down on Cordelia.
-
Talen blushed as the cuter older sister spoke to her, she didn't know how to react to a friend's family member but she seemed nice enough to talk to. Cordelia on the other hand seemed to be having it rough on her end, however.
"I haven't really been to the other kingdoms often but I think Haven Acadmey might have the best aesthetics. Talen said, stiffing up with a try-hard formal tone. "So, er, what brings you and Cordy's other sister to Beacon?
-
Dahlia looked forward at her sisters with a smile and back to Talen. You're going to love travelling as a huntress. The wonderful things you will see and Grimm that you will fight!" She grabs her dual crossbows from behind her back and held them in the air in excitement. She realized what she did and folded them back and put them back in their holsters. "WELL, Regan there thinks that Cordelia is slacking in 'huntress behavior'" Dahlia said making air quotes. "So, she's here to see what her life here is like and make...adjustments...if she has to. As for me..." she giggled. "I'm just here for the fun and the cute boys."
-
"Boys huh... Talen murmured, recalling the lack of romance in both hers and Cordelia's lives. "For sisters you sure are different from one another.
-
"Are we? Hm..." Dahlia questioned herself. "So, how'd you two meet? You guys are on the same team right? What's it like living with the dork?" Dahlia giggled. Regan looked back at Talen just a moment with judging eyes and looked back at Cordelia, who is looking really annoyed as Regan began talking again. "Regan does NOT like your outfit." She leans in. "She's just jealous that she cant pull the look off. Boobs too big."
-
Talen blushed again and stared at her body with a curious glance. Sure her attire was slightly breezy but it wasn't the worst she's seen in Beacon, oddly enough. Besides she wore a jacket or sweater if needed, it's just that it felt way better and way less sweaty if her skin was exposed. Not to mention it was significantly warmer in Vale than it was where she came from.
"Maybe I should cover up...
-
"Cover up!? Hell no! You're hot!" Dahlia yelled. "I'm surprised boys arent flocking to you all the time!"
"Dahlia, silence." Regan said without looking back.
They approached the dorms and stopped at the doors. "Well here we are." Cordelia said looking at their dorm room's door.
"Now we will see what living conditions our loving sister is in the midst of." Regan said as she reached the door.
Cordelia watched Regan reach for the door and quickly turned and whispered to Talen. "You DID clean up right?!"
-
"W-well it depends how you define clean... Talen said, her voice barely audible.
-
The color leaves Cordelia's face. She quickly blocks the door with herself and gave her sister, who is not amused, a weak smile. "BOY AM I HUNGRY! WANT TO GO GET SOME LUNCH?! TALEN, WANNA GET SOME LUNCH?!" She looked at Talen in hopes that she gets what Cordelia is hinting.
-
Tilting her head sideways Talen wondered what was wrong with Cordelia and said, "Lunch? Isn't it a little too early? Then again the lines do get kind long at the cafeteria...
-
"EXACTLY! LET'S GET LUNCH!" Cordelia smiled at her sisters.
Regan squinted and backed off the door, she crossed her arms and looked at Dahlia. "We dont have too much time..."
"So we get lunch and leave?"
"So we don't see her living arrangements?"
"Who cares what her room looks like?!"
Regan looks at Talen and back at Cordelia. "Fine. We go to lunch."
-
Talen shrugged and hopped over next to Cordelia, almost wanting to question why she asked before Regan mentioned living arrangements. Oh duh, she might be separated from Cordy if her sister thinks her teammates are slobs. Wait, that wasn't bad, that was horrible she'd be alone again and without her best friend!
Talen pouted and clung on to Cordelia's arm, not minding the sisters and said, "You should try the properly cooked food. Don't get bread, sometimes it's hard enough that you could use it to fight grimm. Yup, that stale.
-
The four walk their way to the dining area, got in line and their food and sat down.
Regan poked her food with distaste. "Atlas' Academy had better food than this if I remember..."
Dahlia giggled. "That was YEARS ago. Besides youre so old, how can you remember?"
Cordelia just groaned and looked at Talen.
The two sisters got up and walked to get more food and drink, leaving the friends alone.
"They want me to transfer to Atlas..." Cordelia groaned again. "At least Regan does. Dahlia could care less. Regan thinks I should be 'trained properly' and be closer to home since Mom isn't doing too well..." Cordelia frowned and poked her food with her fork.
-
Talen, shocked by the new jumped to her feet and unintentionally slammed her hands on the table. With a fire burning in her she thought up of the perfect reasoning as to why Cordelia should stay at Beacon, it would definitely sway the older sisters!
"Cordelia doesn't need to go to Atlas! She shouted, not to anyone in particular but she looked gung-ho enough to inspire anyone who was looking at her, that was until she locked eyes with the older sister.
Staring straight at Regan Talen's resolve suddenly crumbled as her ears drooped down and she quietly took her seat, forgetting the rest of her reasoning as she clung on to Cordelia and whimpered. Where did the fiery passion for their friendship go? Was she really that bad of a friend? Talen's head spun with these thoughts as she started tearing up and completely ignored the fact that she knocked her glass over as iced tea pooled around the plates.
