At the head of the caravan Chris DeWitt was nervous. This wasn't the first time that he had run point. This wasn't the first time he'd been involved with smuggling. But tonight was different. This wasn't a normal job. No bribes would get them through gates and no smooth talk would appease the roaming Huntsman they might come across. Their cargo was people. Faunus really... but still people under the horns and stuff.
The night couldn't have been any creepier either. It was cloudy above and misty below. Far too misty for a normal autumn night on the outskirts of Vale. On top of that their "cargo" was a far too loud. Three of the five had woken up... and were yelling, screaming really, to be let out. Didn't they know what they were messing with? Getting sold to some rich bastard out in the boonies was bad and all... but getting gutted by a 'wulf was worse.
DeWitt glanced back. "Z" was leading the wagon. He was in charge. It made sense for him to get the safe spot in the middle. It still made DeWitt's skin crawl to have his bosses eyes on his back all the time. There were four guards to the left, four to the right, and three watching the rear. Fish was out there somewhere, DeWitt couldn't see him or remember where he'd been told to guard but it was a comfort to know that at least someone would know how to handle it if things went wrong. Somewhere out in the mist he heard a howl. Tense but not as green as the boss wanted to think DeWitt gripped his rifle tightly but presses on. So far there was nothing to really worry about. When you left the cities you'd be bound to fight. He'd done it before, everyone here had. 'Cept maybe the Faunus in the cage. But still something seemed off.
"Hey Z!" DeWitt called back. "You hear that howl'n?"
Lighting up a cigarette, Ezekiel Bartok blew a ring of smoke out into the night. Nothing like a cool night for some hunting he thought as he heard the howling from afar. "Quit yer complainin' and keep movin' ferward!" he yelled at Chris who seemed rather fidgety this night. Moving up along the caravan, he came up to the wagon that held the captives. Seeing one of the captives reaching out, crying to be set free, Z moved closer towards him. Hearing the male faunus begging, crying that he would pay them whatever the ransom was so he could be set free, Z took another long puff from his cigarette and blew it out into the faunus' face. Closing his eyes, the faunus let out a cough from the smoke, which was all the time Z needed. Reaching through the bars and grabbing the faunus by the neck, he slammed the faunus' head against the bars, hard, knocking the faunus onto the ground while grabbing his bloody head. "Any of y'all make another peep, and you'll face more pain than that" he said quietly, glaring dangerously at the other four faunus, which made them all quiet down.
Moving back to his spot in the middle of the caravan, Ezekiel blew another ring of smoke out while resting his freed hand on his weapon. At a glance, his weapon looked to be a simple great mace (http://images.mmosite.com/2moons/images/item/weapon/greatmace/02_12_05_l.jpg). However, what most people didn't know was that it also harbored a 6-shot rocket launcher that could shoot in rapid succession, causing mass destruction to anyone who went up against him. And if that wasn't enough, there was always his semblance, which he almost never had to use. Regardless, Chris' nervousness was unmerited as the chances of them getting ambushed was extremely low at the time of night. "If Chris complains one more time, I swear...I'm goin' ta break a few of his teeth in" he muttered quietly to himself. With the guards watching each side and Fish somewhere out there scouting the area, there was no chance they would get ambushed without them knowing about it in advance. A few more gigs like this and I'll be able to retire in style he thought, smiling to himself as the caravan plodded onward.
High above the caravan and above visibility from anyone else, Suntalia held onto the tree she was hiding in. Shivering at the cold breeze that was hitting her from above, she held her position and watched through a looking glass as the caravan made its way towards the forest. Trying hard to not let her teeth chatter from the cold, Suntalia gripped her clothing around her tighter, in hopes that it'll warm her up a bit more. One of the guys should have a warm blanket or cloak on them...I'll just have to hold out until I then she thought, sniffing a bit from the cold.
Checking Firestorm as well as Dynami and Areti, she made sure that each of them were ready for combat. The mission was simple: wait until Rye gives the word, then subdue the enemy. Rye made it very clear that he didn't want any casualties, which Suntalia agreed with his thinking. She wasn't for the idea of killing other humans, but would if it meant protecting her teammates. Hopefully it wouldn't have to come to that point though.
Pulling her Scroll out briefly, Suntalia fidgeted with it as she sent a message to the rest of her team. The enemy caravan is almost at where you guys are at. Looks like thirteen or so of them. A quick ambush should be enough to catch all of them off guard. Just give me the word, Rye Rye, and I'll attack. Also...one of you owes me a blanket or cloak when I get back. It's freezing up here! Laughing lightly to herself, she focused her thoughts on the mission again and waited for Rye's signal to attack.
-
Oni watched as the caravan passed into his line of sight, laying low in the bushes; his dark clothing almost blending in with the dark colours of night. He held Patricide tightly in his hands as he prepared to attack. He silently began to move through the shrubbery, getting closer to the caravan but making sure not to get spotted. Oni could barely feel the cold through his thick clothes as he waited for the 'go-ahead'. Maybe you should have dressed more fittingly for climbing trees, Talia. He thought.
Oni lay in wait, ready to pounce at any enemies who thought they could escape Talia's attacks. I almost feel bad for them. Almost.
-
As per his instructions, Diamante had hidden his glowstick of a body amongst the overgrowth on the opposite side of the road from Suntalia. Over the last couple years, he had learned sufficient aura control to keep the shroud of night upon him. Regardless, it was still comforting to know that SunnyT would be able to see anything that went wrong with him from up in her perch.
At Suntalia's message, Diamante moved himself to a ready position for the upcoming ambush and awaited the signal. Her point about being cold kind of annoyed Diamante a bit, and if it were anyone but her they'd be hearing about it right now. You're not the one that has to fly in it, he couldn't help but think.
-
Rye gracefully walked across his blades traversing from tree branch to tree branch making sure to use as few steps as possible to not tire himself out, Ah a nice brisk night, just like back home Rye sheathed his blades and got into a more comfortable position on the branch. Rye pulled out his scroll and shook his head at Talia's message and chuckled to himself, I told you to bring a jacket but NOOOO, dad's just being fussy huh? :p . Rye begrudgingly took off his warm flannel and sent it over to Talia. No rips, no tears, no stains, that ones my favorite. Rye took a deep breath feeling the cold as he readied his blades for the jump.
Looks like it's show time, Oni, take out the leader, Dia, the nervous one, be gentle, the porch lights on but it looks like no ones home... Rye texted watching the poor lad pace nervously. Both of you remember non lethal, ONI I'm talking to you. Talia, the grunts, I'll work on getting the faunus to safety. Whoever finishes first helps me with the hostages, Ready? Rye texted out hoping Talia caught the flannel. He only vaguely knew her location and wasn't in the mood to search for it later.
-
Looking over at her Scroll to see Rye's response, Suntalia quickly looked over to see where the flannel was. Noticing it coming towards her area, she tried reaching out for it, but a gust of wind blew suddenly, sending it in a different direction. Watching the flannel fly away into the darkness, Suntalia pouted briefly at the thought of it being lost. Wind blew it away. Poor Rye Rye... Looking up from her Scroll to see where the caravan was located, Suntalia followed up with with a question. They are in the area now. What's the verdict Rye Rye? Can I attack? Putting her Scroll away, she pulled her looking glass to her eyes to keep an eye on the caravan.
Continuing to scan the trees for any sign of enemies, both human and non-human, Chris couldn't help but fidget as a shiver went down his spine. It almost feels like we're being watched... he thought, but kept his mouth shut. Ezekiel seemed confident that nothing would attack so he just had to trust the leader and keep moving forward. Gripping the reins tightly with one hand and his rifle with the other, he nudged his horse to keep going forward. Another howl from afar sent a second chill down his spin, but he shook his head and kept pressing forward.
Letting out a ring of smoke as the caravan moved forward, Ezekiel moved his horse at a leisure pace as if it was simply a walk in the park. We'll be at our destination by sunrise. Nothing to worry about... he thought, a wicked smirk creasing his face as he thought of the money he would receive as payment. Though the pay was well worth it, it was the lien and goods that they stole when they raided and kidnapped the faunus that really made it all worth it. The goods alone should also fetch a pretty penny he contemplated, letting his mind wander at the thought of finally being done and being able to retire once all is said and done.
-
Oni looked down to his Scroll which he was covering with his arm. The leader? Sure. He ignored the comment about using non-lethal. He was going to try, but not if going out of his way to do it sacrificed the safety of anyone important. He put away his scroll. Oni used his Semblance and pinpointed the leader in stopped time. Cancelling his Semblance, Oni smirked at the man. A tough-guy brute with a melee weapon? My cup of tea. BUT there must be something about this guy or else they wouldn't have sent third-years to deal with the mission.
Oni poised himself, ready to start the ambush.
-
Diamante gripped a grenade in consideration, but ultimately put it away. While it certainly would catch them off guard, there was no need to hurt the men's horses. He would be sticking to careful, calculated pinpoint gunfire instead. Ready to engage when you are. Gimme the signal, Rye Bread, he wrote to the group. Eyes on the target, he only hoped to make a good entrance now.
-
OK, Talia light em up, Oni on me, quick and clean kid's. Rye sent a message out to rest of the team as he readied his blades, If this goes well drinks are on me. Rye launched himself into the air using a ring of swords as a springboard. He landed quietly onto the lead cart and sent out one last message NOW TALIA, BRING THE THUNDER LASS! RYE readied his rapier Quick and clean... Like it's ever that easy...
-
Smiling to herself to finally get the approval, Suntalia stood up and put her looking glass away. Aye Aye sir! Best cover your eyes boys...it's gonna be a 'shocking' display ^_^ Sending the message to the others on her team, she concentrated and activated her semblance. With the clouds in the air tonight, it gave her one of the most ideal situation with her semblance. Using the wind and the height of the tree, Suntalia ran out across the branch she was on and made her descent straight towards where the enemies were. Pointing one tip of Firestorm at the guards on the left side of the caravan, she shot a massive wave of lightning right into the middle of them. With the combination of the bright light, the suddenness of the attack, and the sheer force from the blast, all four of the guards were knocked off their horses and onto to the ground all the while screaming from being blinded by the attack.
Letting the wind and her baggy clothes help push her to her landing spot, Suntalia landed on top of the rear wagon, rolling out at the last minute. Standing up tall she activated her semblance a second time while pointing the tip at the three guards in the back. "The names Suntalia! Please to meet ya! You're in for a shocking treat!" she exclaimed happily as she released out a second wave of lighting straight at the surprised guards in the back, blowing one of them off his horse while causing the other two to raise their hands and shields to help block the light. Readying herself, she quickly used the moment to launch herself at the unwary guards, intent on taking them out quickly.
The bright light came out of nowhere and was enough to bring Ezekiel's train of thought to a halt. Startled back to reality, he turned to see a small girl standing on the top of the furthest wagon. "Bloody hell..." he muttered before taking into account the damage she wreaked. Seeing the entire left side of the wagons was complete unprotected as the guards there were still blinded, he turned to face the others. "Guard the cargo! Kill any and all on sight!" he roared, turning to face Chris. "Chris! Grow some balls and git me that girl's head!" he yelled as he then turned his attention to the opened left side. We'll need some light... he thought as he aimed his weapon and fired two shots at the opening, causing a huge explosion while everything in the area began to catch fire.
"Darkness!" cursed Chris as he saw the bright light out of the corner of his left eye. Turning quickly, he watched in stupid disbelief as the opponent before him was a small girl. Hearing Z yell at him to kill the girl on the wagon, he hesitated for a moment at the thought of killing such a small person, much less a girl. However, he raised his assault rifle when he saw her take down another one of his comrades. Taking aim, he found himself hesitating again and noticed his arms shaking, unable to shoot. "Protect your comrades!" he yelled, talking to himself mostly as he open fired, trying to aim at the girl on the wagon.
-
Seeing that Suntalia had began her assault, Oni pounced up out of the shrubbery and looked toward the leader with a smile. The smile soon faded away when Oni saw that the leader's weapon could fire rockets.Of course it's part gun.. He thought as he began to form of a new strategy. Pulling out a fire dust pellet from one of the packs on his belt, Oni chucked it as fast as he could at the leader's face, with the intention of distracting him. Oni then dashed closer to him, and threw his left rope dart at the man, whipping it toward his face in a fast motion; hoping that Z would be too distracted to dodge in time. Oni was almost certain that this wouldn't do as much damage as he hoped it would.
"Now I do fell bad for them." Oni mumbled as he saw Suntalia's attacks in the background of his own.
-
Diamante launched a pillar of force out of his hand to propel himself out of the foliage. He then briefly touched down on the street to enable liftoff via his boots. Within seconds he was airborne and taking aim on his target. He noticed the little man's shaky, terrified aiming with a smirk; Sunny had that effect on people. Still, Diamante noted, it was his job to fight that one, not hers. "Hey you! Watch who you're shooting at!" he shouted from above, opening a steady stream of assault rifle fire.
The bright pillars of light emerging from his body as he used his semblance to stay in the air contrasted clearly against the night sky, painting him as an obvious target for anyone who could take their eyes off Suntalia.
-
As the sound of thunder and gunshots rang out into the night, Rye slowly slipped to the side of the wagon, the poor faunus inside looked malnourished, beaten, and just plain terrified. Rye gave them a sad smile putting a finger to his lips as he heated his blade with fire dust. This unfortunately seemed to rattle them further, making them back away from the bars in fear screaming out for help. Rye rolled his eyes as he let out a harsh whisper, "Shut your traps and get away from the bars, I'm busting you folks out of here!" With his blade now heated he gave a quick box patterned slash across the iron bar easily cutting through them. With them now detached, Rye pulled the bars with his semblance ripping them from the cart, "GO, NOW!" he whispered ushering them out. As he got the last faunus out Rye saw a man with a blackened face round the corner with an angry glare MY CARGO! with that a rocket went flying towards Rye, "Oh shiitake mushrooms... This is gonna suck..." Rye deflated a little as he quickly pulling out all his blades positioning them in a star formation hoping to shield himself the best he can.
-
Watching as more people began cropping up out of nowhere, Ezekiel clenched his teeth. Just a lil bit more and I can retire and be fre... His thoughts were rudely interrupted as small flames appeared in front of his face. Pulling his left hand up to block his face, he quickly noticed the glint of a blade and quickly shifted his stance to dodge it. Barely getting out of the way, the knife nicked the side of his face as it flew past him. Noticing what looked like string tied to the blade, he reached out his hand and grabbed hold of the rope and looked out until his eyes fell on Oni. "Shoulda brought reinforcements into this fight boy" he yelled, a wicked smirk crossing his face as he aimed his mace and fired a rocket straight at the lad.
Getting caught off guard, Chris was hit by a few rounds from Diamante's stream of fire. Switching his attention to his new foe, he quickly jumped off his horse and began to deftly dodge the remainder of the rounds, thankful that his aura had been active or else he would've been in trouble. Realizing that his new foe was a guy, Chris felt much more obliged to fight back. "Right back at ya!" he yelled back, joining in with the few guards standing as they began firing a heavy barrage of rounds at their floating opponent while dodging between the wagons.
Seeing that almost all eyes were on her, Suntalia prepared to fight, but was immediately hit from behind by what felt like a few rounds. Feeling her aura diminish, she refused to turn around as she heard Diamante yelling. Focusing on the men in front of her, she leaped off the wagon and, with one swift swing, took the remaining two guards off of their horses with Firestorm. Quick drawing Dynami, she shot both guards in the head, allowing the sheer knock back force to knock the two guards unconscious.
Turning her attention to the guards she had blinded earlier, she noticed one of them was still lying on the ground while two were making their way to their feet while aimlessly reaching out blindly for their weapons. Good...still stunned she thought as she then focused her attention on the four guards she had not attacked that were on the right side of the caravan. It was the moment that she advanced that she heard Rye curse out followed by an explosion. "Please don't go out with a bang Rye Rye!" she exclaimed as she grabbed the attention of a nearby guard. Holstering Dynami away, she flourished Firestorm and then looked up at the guard with innocent eyes. "Care to dance?" she inquired with a doe-eyed facade, readying herself for a good long fight.
-
Oni activated his Semblance again, taking some time to evaluate his situation. After the few seconds he could hold his Semblance, Oni sidestepped multiple times to his left hastily, dodging the rocket. "Reinforcements? I'll admit; not my style." Oni smirked back at the man while attempting to yank his left rope dart back.
Oni's smirk faded away into a determined glare at Ezekiel as Oni prepared himself for an all-out scrap.
-
Diamante stopped his upward thrust while creating another to push himself to the side, essentially streaming by the various lines of bullets headed his way. As he plummeted to the ground, his smile grew. The thought of the light show and the attention he would be drawing in the dead of night pleased him greatly. If Sunny can make a scene, I'll make the whole show! Slowing his fall just slightly before landing, Diamante rolled over the top of one of the wagons towards the front of the caravan. He pivoted at the end of his roll and ended on one knee, aiming his rifle and firing at the grunts who had picked him as their target.
-
Rye stumbled back from the blast onto a knee, swords flying in every direction, "OW! You are so gonna wish that lightning bolt knocked you out lad..." Rye growled attempting to stand but quickly falling back down. His aura crackled a little showing how little of it he had left. OK maybe not as quickly as I thought... Rye winced a little evaluating his options. The boss is gonna be real happy with you dead haha, what was I supposed to be wishing, LAD." A small female stag faunus crept behind a tree with one of Rye's sabers firmly gripped in her hands. Rye smirked to himself nodding to her "I said, You're gonna wish that lightning bolt knocked you out, but a sword will suffice, NOW LASS!" The small faunus swung the saber over her head, the henchman swinging around to only be hit in the face by it. He stumbled back holding his face glaring at the girl. She let out a loud "EEEP!" before kicking the henchman in the tender bits and running back into forest dropping the saber. "Told ya" Rye said kicking the doubled over henchman in the face.
-
Smirking to himself as he watched his opponent dodge his rocket, Ezekiel tightened his grip on the rope that held the knife that was thrown. "Not bad kid...tis a shame that ye havta die here" he said loudly with a wicked smile. Might as well end this quickly he thought, trying to salvage the situation as assessed the situation. As much as he had preferred not to use it, he activated his semblance and directed all his anger and irritation at his opponent. Under normal circumstances, Gaia's Wrath was a last resort and used to tip the scale in his favor. However, this time it was simply used to wreak havoc and chaos.
Using his mace, Ezekiel hit the ground, causing the hardened ground to shake and crack, which allowed his semblance to utilize the pieces easier. Lifting dozens of pieces of dirt and rocks, he manipulated each of them into sharpened pieces and shot every single one of them at rapid speed at Oni while pulling on the rope to get his opponent closer to him.
Trying to focus on his opponent Chris continued to shoot numerous rounds at Diamante, while doing his best to dodge the rounds being fired at him. Here and there, he watched as the remaining guards slowly fell at the onslaught of bullets and skirmishes throughout the caravan. Feeling the ground shake suddenly, he shot a glance over at Z to see that he was using his semblance. "If Z is taking this seriously then I better do the same" he muttered.
Hitting a button on his assault rifle, Chris transformed it to its secondary form. As the rifle barrel doubled in length, he removed the ammo cartridge and swapped it with the high-powered explosive sniper rounds that he carried. Moving behind one of the wagons, he took a quick breath before turning the corner to face Diamante again. Seeing his foe ahead of him, Chris took aim and shot a round directly at Diamante, hoping that it would either pierce through or that the explosion would damage him enough.
Swinging Firestorm to hit one of the remaining guards across the head, Suntalia watched as his eyes rolled back and he fell to the ground. Seeing that the rest were either taken down or were facing off against Rye Rye, she jumped up onto one of the wagons to get a better view. Figuring that their fearless leader would be fine facing the few remaining guards, she turned her attention to Diamante and Oni. Realizing that both had their hands full at the moment, she turned to look at Rye. "What next Rye Rye?" she yelled, activating her semblance as she readied herself to fire it at whoever Rye decided needed the most help.
-
"Die here? And why would th--" Oni's jaw almost literally dropped when he realised his situation. Dashing to the right almost immediatley, Oni tried to negate the effect that Ezekiel was having on him by yanking on his rope dart; but Oni began to get closer to the man almost as soon as he started to run. Not seeing a situation where he was getting out unscathed, Oni jumped to the ground as he saw the dirt and rocks begin to fly toward him; the shrapnel managing to hit parts of his legs before he could get on the ground completely.
Oni's aura absorbed the damage that his legs would have suffered, but he could tell that would have been pretty bad if he didn't jump down in time. As soon as Oni gathered himself after that last attack, he once again yanked with his left hand, trying to pull the rope dart back. Alright..So, he has to have a substantial amount of earth to work with for his Semblance, it doesn't appear that he can manipulate large bodies of rock or else he wouldn't have had to smash the ground with his mace, which takes a decent amount of time compared to regularly attacking..What a drag, this is gonna be harder than I thought. Oni thought to himself, trying to devise a coherent strategy. As soon as he got his weapon back (if he got it back) he was going to utilise his speed to get a better angle for attack.
-
Seeing his opponent change weapon styles, Diamante realized he desperately needed to move. He only just managed to stand up and move a tiny bit before the shot struck his arm. The resulting explosion threw him off the cart and into a tree, where he fell to the ground, his vision of the attacker now obscured by the caravan.
Diamante took a couple of seconds to catch his breath before standing up and brushing the dust off. "The nerve of some people..." he muttered. "How about a taste of your own medicine?" He pulled a grenade and loaded it into the launcher on his gun. He then took a few steps forward and launched himself back into the air, weapon raised and quickly refocused on his opponent. With no teammates, horses, or hostages near him, Diamante determined it was safe to fire and even relished the moment when he pulled the trigger.
Before Suntalia could have a chance to fire, a sickle came flying in from behind her, attached to a thin, lengthy chain. The sickle narrowly missed her leg, embedding itself in the ground at her feet. The owner of this weapon then came flying down the chain, swatting at her with the heavy flail at the other end of it. As he passed her, this new combatant grabbed hold of his sickle, digging into the ground to slow himself while he turned to face her. He ended in a low, feral battle stance, gripping the sickle in one hand while spinning the chain and flail with his other. "My job was supposed to be easy... why do you kids have to complicate things, hm?"
-
Well things just got ten times more difficult... Rye took a moment to evaluate the situation taking a deep breath behind some nearby cover. The leader seems to have some form of earth control, probably best I deal with him and Oni deal with the new guy... Suntalia will have her hands full with the grunts but she can handle it, she's a big girl. Rye inhaled deeply before calling for his nearby blades sensing their familiar forms in the nearby forest. With that Rye exhaled jumping up landing onto the three nearby blades launching himself into the air, "Oni! Off! I'll deal with him. Santalia! the grunts if you please." Rye landed next to Oni with a soft thud "Deal with the new guy, your the fastest of us, I'll deal with pebble brain here."
-
Getting distracted by the newcomer, Suntalia dodged the flail attack nimbly and somersaulted a few paces away from him, Firestorm ready to engage. However, before she could attack, she heard her new order from Rye. "Sorry love, but the captain has spoken" she said happily, beaming her opponent with a dimpled smile before jumping quickly away to face off against the few remaining guards.
The excitement of hitting Diamante with his shot quickly faded away as Chris saw his opponent come back with a vengeance. "Sweet mother of-" he shouted as he saw what looked like a grenade get fired directly at him. Desperately jumping to the side, the blast from the grenade still caught his entire right side. Flying from the blast radius, Chris crashed through one of the wagons and landed flat on his face. "Sorry cap..." he muttered, letting out a groan before passing out from the pain.
"Rgggrh" growled Ezekiel as he saw that he barely nicked Oni. Before he could let out a second barrage, another opponent yelled some orders and came over to face him. "HAH!!!!" Ezekiel roared out of laughter. "Ye think a puny runt like yerself has a chance?" he replied, letting the rope go so he could properly face Rye. Activating his semblance, Ezekiel smashed the ground with his mace before stomping the ground in addition. "See how ye like this!" he yelled, forming three large earth walls to surround Rye. Picking up the shards he broke with his mace with his semblance, he shot a barrage of earthen bullets directly at his opponent.
-
"Sure thing, boss." Oni said before dashing away towards his new opponent. While he was not being overly stealthily, Oni would still go un-detected unless someone had a good eye, as his dark colours could easily go unseen in the heat of battle. When he got into range of his opponent, which was still a good distance away, he jumped up and built momentum into his rope dart which he threw a bit to his opponent's side; in anticipation of a dodge or sidestep, as at this point Oni would have been clearly seen.
-
"Ha! Serves you right!" Diamante taunted, seeing his enemy go down. He landed once more on top of a wagon and took aim at the grunts Suntalia was now going after. Not having been given any further instructions, it seemed best to him that he just start cleaning up whatever was left.
As his old opponent fled, a new opponent revealed himself to Fish. A rope dart came out of nowhere, and flew right off to his side. With a patronizing smile, Fish turned to face Oni. "Nice shot. Anyway, I'm not about to let you punks decide who I get to fight. Try and keep up!" With that, he hopped up on the nearest cart and once again located Suntalia. From here, he started launching himself toward her at startling speeds, using the sickle and chain as an anchor point for each jump.
