Team MLDC,
With Nonus Nameticus career as a Hunter on hold, we have assigned a new team leader to act through this recent development and depending on the recovery of Nonus, might become a permanent member. While the student is new to Beacon her skills are up to par and should be treated equally. To test the new leader's abilities we have assigned MLDC towards the protection of a Schnee Dust Company transportation. Some guards will be also stationed as well as some of Schnee Dust androids. As well as an overseer to report any enemy activity (do ignore him to the best of your abilities). They decided to do this with the most recent increase of activities of White Fang hostility towards the company.
You are expected to meet any and all hostility with whatever means have been deemed necessary. You are to meet your new member on location.
That is all, Happy hunting
On location, preparations were finishing up. Shipping containers were being loaded and secured onto the large train. The engine, roaring with dust and the androids were already brought on as the shipment was starting to be loaded. In front of the train stood two characters, the first was a man, 40ish with white hair wearing a full white suit with hints of light blue and grays.
The other was very different, dark red hair, tanned shirt, and pants, obviously wearing clothes that only a huntress would think about wearing into combat. Plus the addition of the large motorbike that she was leaning on gave off an entirely different vibe.
If one could listen the Atlas Overseer was not having it. Venting his frustrations on the only other human being around with some profanity since it was nearly time to leave and he didn't want to fall behind track.

Xavier smiled and exhaled a breath of satisfaction. Today really was a wonderful day. He had a team again, his hair was finally agreeing with him on how to look, and the mission description included his favourite words.
"By any means nessesary"
Oh boy those words sent chills of excitement down his spine. No limits mean using Ashen Snow to her full potential. Did he feel like blowing up bad guys with the strength of a anti-tank artillary shell was NESSESARY? Not exactly. Did he think it was hella efficient and fun? Fuck yeah he did.
In fact it had put him in such a good mood that he decided to help with the loading before joining his team. Shrugging off his trench-coat and shirt, Xavier clad in his overalls, hoisted the shipping container into the air and onto the train. His bionic arms groaned and strained slightly against the intense weight. It certainly was a workout for his aura and semblance but it was a way to blow off all his pent up steam. After the last of the shipping containers had been loaded, Xavier joined the rest of his team...at least he though it was his team. Profuse swearing and motorbikes seemed to be the tell tale signs of a second year student.
Xavier walked up to the two, shirt and coat in hand and cooling down from the exercise. Looking closely one could see the scars where the metal of his arms met his shoulders. It was a little gruesome to see in full view. Brushing back sweaty hair Xavier spoke in a thick regional Atlasian accent.
"It is beautiful day for mission no? Reminds me of summer back in Atlas.
Though I do wish ever day of summer back then is as exciting as it is now. After all it's not everyday that you are escorting payload for Schnee dust company."

Whistling a tune into the air, Jett walked briskly towards the station where he would be meeting with his team. Though he knew two of them, he was intrigued to meet the newest member of his team. As hard as it was to not have Nonus around, he still smiled at the thought of meeting a new person. Continuing with great strides, he turned the corner and spotted the station up ahead. Holding his pack over his right shoulder and fully suited in his studded leather combat gear, he quickly looked over himself to make sure everything was in order. Weapons? Check. Ammo? Check. Food rations? Check. First aid kit? Check. Smiling slightly again, he finished running through his checklist and continued down the sidewalk towards the station.
Arriving at the station, Jett looked around until he noticed the train and three people standing next to it. Noticing Xavier standing amidst the three, Jett smiled broadly and picked up his pace until he was within range of hearing their conversation. "Everyday can be exciting if you choose to make it so" he said loudly, slapping Xavier on the shoulder and giving his friend and teammate a broad grin. "Today especially since we're finally going on a mission again." Taking note of the other two standing by Xavier, one of them looked on the older side and was swearing up a storm. The other, however, looked to be right around his age and had a cool demeanor on her face as she leaned against, what looked to be, her own motorcycle. "You must be the newest member of the team" he said loudly over the sounds of the train and the other man. Walking towards her with a smile, Jett reached out his hand towards her in a greeting. "The name is Jett. Jett Davenport. It's very nice to meet you!" Giving the lass a broad grin, he looked forward to working with her alongside his other teammates.

A new mission. A new leader. Just a year of new beginnings it seemed. Lien walked steadily towards the train station where she would meet with Jett, Xavier, and the new leader of the team. It uneased her that she knew nothing about him or her yet, but that would change in time. Hopefully. Probably through much social interaction. Always a... lovely... thing. Meeting a new person was always nice though, even if Nonus had to leave for it. She hoped that he got well soon, though Lien knew that there was little chance he would return to Beacon. This new leader would probably be permanent if they fit in.
A glance at her watch confirmed that she wasn't late yet, but Lien picked up the pace anyway, touching up the low twist that her hair was in in the meanwhile. To be honest, she almost didn't want to participate in the mission. The Schnee family was cruel, their work ethic nigh nonexistent, they used faunus labor and were fiarly racist. They reminded her of the Yaos, just richer. But the school had assigned her to this mission and she would have to protect them anyway. The hard work of the laborers, faunus or not, shouldn't be wasted. And they wouldn't be, as long as she was ready. Lien even had her weapons on hand, though they were still in their dormant form and would make doing normal activities a bit difficult. Oh well.
Lien smiled as she saw that her teammates had already arrived. Good, no more waiting around awkwardly. Jett seemed to be greeting the new teammate, whose face was currently obscured by the two teammates she already knew. Lien could see her long red hair and figure though, so the new leader was female. And the owner of a motorcycle. Beside them was an old-ish gentleman with snow white hair and wearing a suit to match, who had been saying some very profane things. Maybe gentleman wasn't the right word for it.
"Hello everyone," Lien said to announce her arrival. "It's great to be on another mission again, isn't it Jett, Xavier? Let's make it a good one alright? And of course hello to our new-" Lien cut herself off quite abruptly. The new member looked... a lot like her. "You look like me." Oh, that was a little blunt. "Almost unnaturally so." And that was weird. "It's lovely what life will do to entertain sometimes, no?" Better. She smiled to reinforce the idea. "My name is Lien, you must be the new leader. Would you mind telling us your name?"
-
The old man stopped his profanities for a moment and looked at each of the members that would be here to take care of any danger. Upon setting his eyes at Lien he scoffed at the idea of having a faunas on the train.
"Now the White Fang is a definitely going to be here. Don't you have an extra member that you could bring instead of her. In any case I think that she should stay as far away from me as possible. Lowly faunas." He grinned and turned his and went up the ramp to the train with the final preparations just about to be finished up.
"My name is Mythos Laurenstine. He's an asshole so just ignore him, he's been running his mouth for the last half an hour. If the White Fang do come you shouldn't feel obliged to help him in any way. Our mission is the cargo, not him." Mythos stopped leaning on her bike and actually got on it. She turned the ignition and the engine roared to life.
"The Schnee dust company have given us enough dust and ammo to last us the trip... the train leaves very soon so we should get on. There's a cabin quaters for us to hang out. We can talk more on there once we get going. First i'm going to secure my bike." Mythos went soft on the accelerator before she stopped and turned on her bike. "uh... Nice to meet you all. I hope we can enjoy our time at Beacon." From that Mythos came out very obvious that she wasn't use to slcial interactions. Her straight to the point kind of style was a bit odd. She revved Raptoria up the ramp and brought it to one of the cargo trains to secure it to the train. Feeling a bit nervous having to take charge of a team.
-
Xavier's grasp on his brief case tighten in anger. He hated when people were such embarrassment to his homeland. The reputation of Atlas would never change as long as people like him continued to exist in the world. Letting out a sign of resignation Xavier put on his coat and buttoned up his shirt. Well at least there was some bonuses to his day. The new leader was very straight forward and too the point. Just like how he liked it. He could tell she was a little nervous but that was to be expected, they did have a mission ahead of them after all.
Turning around to see the familiar faces of Lien and Jett. They were always reassuring to have around. Reaching around them both Xavier gave them a nice and firm pat on their backs.
"It is nice to see you two again and doing missions none the less! I hope you haven't gone soft on me Jett. Hopefully this leader decides to say a little bit longer then the last one did...speaking of which the new leader looks a lot like you don't you think Lien?"
Xavier's voice turned a bit curious at the end of his greeting. It was a tone that Lien and Jett would both have known very well by now. It was his 'insatiable curiosity' tone.
A tiny bronze mechanical beetle had flown out of his jacket and onto his shoulder.
"Well if you excuse me friends I need to go chat with the engineer on board, I need to make sure some last checks go through before we head off! Il meet you back in the lounge to catch up and meet the new leader."
Xavier smiled at them as he left to meet the man in charge of the locomotive. He hated to ditch his friends so soon but the safety of this cargo was priority. It was important and if the team was met with a sticky situation he had to make sure the train would be ready to go at a moments notice. While he walked Xavier began to ponder. The resemblance we between the leader and Lien was defiantly...uncanny. If Lien had a sibling she would have definitely the team beforehand. Interesting...absolutely interesting...something to talk about when he rendez-vous'd with them back at the lounge.
-
Looking first at Mythos leaving and then at his outstretched hand that she had ignored, Jett couldn't help but smile. I think we'll get along just fine he thought as he suddenly felt a firm pat against his back. Laughing loudly, he returned it with a hard pat on Xavier's shoulder. "Nothing to worry about man! You know I wouldn't let the loss of a teammate get me down!" he said gaily before shooting a warm smile towards Lien. "Glad to see both of you are well!" he added, placing a hand gently between Lien's antlers and patted her head out of endearment and amusement.
Watching as Xavier made his way towards the engineer, Jett turned to face Lien. "Guess it's just you and me, huh?" he inquired. Picking up his bag, he began making his way onto the train and towards the cabin quarters. Turning to face Lien, he shot her a big grin. "Shall we go?" he asked, motioning towards the train with his head.
-
Lien frowned internally at the Schnee man's words. That was hurtful, not all Faunus were White Fang members, and it wouldn't do him any good to assume. Of course, on the outside she simply averted her gaze down, no reason to make a fuss over such a small thing. She couldn't help but think about what the others would think as well, before shaking it off and reminding herself that they were her friends, and Mythos seemed decent enough about racism judging by her response. Xavier seemed more preoccupied with the resemblance between her and their new leader anyway. Which was something she was surprised about as well. Surely it was just a coincidence.
Feeling the hand between her antlers, Lien looked at Jett, responding to his smile with a small one of her own. "Of course, we should try and get situated." Lien picked up her own bag and started walking to the quarters with the remaining teammate she had there. "Oh," she said, "um, if you don't mind I think I may have to stop by the lavatory on the way. Better to take care of it before we're involved in a life or death situation, no?"
-
Mythos brought her motorbike into the cargo hold which the quaters was closest to. It was also the same one which held all the ammo they were given for the trip. Nearly organised with the matching calibre to their weapons. Even amounts for all of the ammo types needed, the same with dust.
But for now Mythos didn't pay attention to it. She grabbed several of the straps which would normally hold crates in place. Mythos funneled two through the wheels and one under the plate, over the seat and under the other plate. She moved the buckles up and down until the straps was kept in place but didn't leave any marks, especially careful with the one going over the seat. With that done she made her way to the cabin.
Inside the cabin was several decent couches, not the beightest but they were comfy, large enough for one to fit two people sleeping on one comfortably without having to bend their legs. A metal coffee table secured with several bolts on each leg. A small fridge with bottles of chilled water and soft drinks/soda. Sliding doors on two sides, one outside and one leading into the cargo hold. Mythos made herself comfortable on one of the couches, laying down and moving her pistols that were on her belt to her stomach and resting her rifle underneath her legs. She placed her hands over her chest with nowhere else to place them besides the back of her head, she also didn't want to deal with pins and needles before a fight.
Right around the time Mythos had taken her seat the loud apeaker over the entire train blurred to life. Lord and behold a faimlair voice came over the speakers, high and mighty. "All personnal are to leave the train aside from non-essential personal. We are departing now so grab onto something that is secured if you aren't." The sound of the speaker being turned off and a brief moment of silence was enjoyed before it came back on. "To team Melodic, I advise you keep your faunas in line. Wouldn't want her running off and signalling any White Fang along the way." With that the speaker went quiet again and thankfully it didn't turn back on. His tone during his moment of fame reeked of superiority and "I'm better then you. Not just you, I mean all of you."
-
Xavier was just wrapping up his chat with the engineer. Everything seemed to be in working order! Honestly Xavier was impressed, it had been a while since he was last able to inspect such an intricate machine. With parting words exchanged he was ready to re-join the others when the blaring speaker came on. Xavier's eyebrow twitched in annoyance as their...guest rambled on in that insufferable tone of his. As the microphone clicked off Xavier got a spur of the moment idea. Pressing some of the controls on the keypad nearby the train lurched forward suddenly causing some personal to grab onto something to avoid falling down. To Xavier's fortune that man did not, how could he tell? Well loud profuse swearing from the communication cabin was a tell tail sign that somebody's head had just been violently acquainted with the floor.
Dashing out of the room before the engineer could look at him funny Xavier made his way back to his team chuckling slightly. It was a good thing he did because seconds later an angry Atlasian burst through the door to the engineering car. Only to be faced with an unimpressed engineer and a few mechanics. Sometimes you needed to take the small victories.
Taking a seat in his teams waiting room Xavier set down his briefcase on the floor beside him and pulled out a small box to tinker with. Smiling at Mythos from his seat he gave her a small wave with screwdriver in hand. This was going to be a good mission indeed.
-
Smiling at Lien, he waved at her as he turned to continue on towards the cabin quarters. "I'll see you there, then!" he called out loudly so that Lien could hear him. Whistling a merry tune, he continued to make his way through the train until he heard the conductor come through the loud speakers. Furrowing his eyebrows at the tone and attitude of the man's treatment towards his faunus teammate, Jett quickly grabbed hold of a nearby pole as the train began to move. "So it begins" he murmured softly to himself.
Chuckling slightly, Jett continued making his way through until he came up to the lounging area that the others should be in. "Well, let's try this introduction business once more" he said to himself. Taking a deep breath, he beat his chest a couple times before opening the door to which he found Xavier and Mythos sitting. "Well!" he exclaimed gaily, looking first at Xavier and then at Mythos. "You look mighty comfortable there, Mythos!" he continued speaking loudly as he walked over to one of the open chairs. Setting his bag down, he unharnessed Scath and Svart and laid them down next to his bag.
Looking around the cabin, Jett spotted the small fridge and, with a grin on his face, walked over and opened it up. Spotting the bottles of water as well as soda, he grabbed one of the sodas and popped the cap off. Guzzling down half of the bottle, he let out a loud sigh of satisfaction. "Looks like water and soda here. Any of you want one?" he inquired, shooting a glance at Xavier and then at Mythos.
-
Lien frowned as she headed back towards the lounging area. She didn't suppose that the Schnee man wanted her monitored in the lavatory as well, did he? People would be people though, and Lien shook it off. He was quite obviously not the most savory individual, so his words had little meaning. She instead busied herself with re-attaching her weapons. Pretty as they were in their dormant form, they made daily tasks incredibly difficult.
Opening the door to the lounge room, Lien found Xavier and Mythos relaxing on the couch, while Jett seemed to be more occupied with the fridge. Lien chuckled softly to herself. Ah, Jett. "I'll take a water, thank you!" She then proceeded towards the couch adjacent to the two that were already seated, crossing her legs and setting her bag beside her on the seat. "Hello again!" she said in greeting to her teammates, giving them a friendly smile in the meanwhile. "I guess if we're to protect this dust shipment, a lounge room where we're able to relax when, well, not being in danger."
"Mythos," Lien started, clapping once to enunciate. "You're, um, our new leader. I would just like to say welcome to the team. We're glad to have you. The circumstances were a bit undesirable, but... " Here, she suddenly went blank. She smiled tightly, trying to telepathically communicate to Xavier to introduce them and ask get-to-know-you questions about Mythos. He was a talkative, curious, lad. Hopefully he'd jump in for the sake of not making it terribly awkward.
-
"I'll just go for a water."Mythos moved her hands and grabbed her revolvers off of her stomach, she placed one of them in one of the holsters on her back before she opened up the cylinder of her it and started turning it slowly, an audible click as it turned, she stopped and looked up at Lien and a slight frown came upon her face. For a moment she looked lost, like a kid who was looking for their mother at a supermarket and going towards a complete stranger thinking that it was their mother. Lien blinked and looked towards the cylinder of her revolver, moving it up and letting the bullets fall out onto her hand.
"You want to know more about me, right?" Mythos thought about it for a moment, she had bits of memories in her mind. Unfortunately it was small amounts at best. She reloaded her revolver, one by one at a incredibly fast pace. Obviously a movement repeated hundreds of times over. "Let's start with the practical stuff. I'm sure you see but I guess I'll be the designated sniper. If you need a target shot from a distance or someone to give callouts about positioning, come to me. If you are looking for things like my history there isn't that much. Not to say that it wasn't boring... I just don't know my past. I have little moments, all blurry, mostly of sand, some of silhouetted people, but anything beyond that is just a good a guess as any." Mythos felt her right thigh and thought about showing the photo. She thought about it for a moment but then she looked at Lien a moment longer then what most people considered normal. She had this weird sense in her stomach, like butterflies, something that felt vaguely familiar but so foreign. Without much to say she said the only thing that came to mind. "You're very pretty." Mythos smiled, just a regular kind smile, something to get off the fact that she knew almost nothing about herself.
-
Xavier repositioned himself so he was facing Mythos and glanced around the assembled group. The gadget he was tinkering with was safety tucked away as he got down to business with the rest of them.
Listening to her explication Xavier deduced that this leader was a pretty good fit for their team...at least in the combat aspect. Socially however she seemed a bit rough around the edges but that just might be nerves or her...interesting history only time could tell.
Xavier could feel the waves of an awkward silence that set in after Mythos had finished talking. Winding that was his queue to introduce himself Xavier playfully elbowed Lien beside him to break the ice.
"T'is great that we have somebody who recognizes beauty when they see it! The name is Xavier Cendres and I am the team's combat and utility unit. But that probably mean nothing to you so...let me SHOW you what that means."
After finishing his monologue Xavier stood up out of his chair and brought out his scroll. Suddenly tiny brass beetles flew out of his trench coat and flew around the room. Different cameras appeared on the screen and by using all the different perspectives a small map was being constructed. While this was happening Xavier gave his new leader an explanation.
"Inside and outside of combat situations I have many skills. I use these bugs to scout area ahead of team. My arms can lift over 1000 pounds to clear way for allies. I am effective in both ranged and close-combat. Using cannon and heavy artillery from the back of a fight and my hammer for when a Grimm's skull needs to be bashed in. Heck I am even willing to tank a few hit for you with my dust shield so whenever you need a position filled, you call me"
Smiling and sitting backdown feeling like he had explained his purpose well Xavier was about to go back to tinkering when a jolt of pain shot up his arm. Right...he was a jack of all trades but even he had his limits. Reflexively rubbing his right shoulder as he remembered forcinly tearing it off to save a woman's life. The fateful day that the Bombs over Vale had dropped.
Shaking off his temporary trance Xavier steadied his voice the best that he could and added to his introduction.
"I may be able to cover many positions but when I am stretched too thin it can prove dangerous. My multi tasking and reaction time could use a little more work then I am proud enough to admit. Also I tend to avoid small areas as often as possible...to maximize efficiency of course! You try swinging a hammer in a small room and not breaking anything."
Quickly covering up his sudden nerves Xavier contently ended his speech having gone over his strength and weaknesses. Trying to ignore the sweat that had appeared on his forehead Xavier brought out the device he had been tinkering with earlier. In his slight panic he had forgotten to seigway into an intro for Jett.
-
Pulling out two bottles of water and an extra bottle of soda, Jett listened to Mythos give her introduction. Trying to hide his surprise, he handed the first bottle off to Lien, a warm smile and nod of his head to acknowledge her. Listening to Xavier give his introduction, he walked over to Mythos and handed her a bottle, giving her the same warm smile he gave to Lien. It was then that it hit him that the two of them did look oddly similar. Trying not to gawk at this sudden realization, he reverted his gaze to where his things were and leaned against the wall as he continued to listen to Xavier flourish himself before their new leader.
Listening intently, Jett took note of Xaviers abrupt finish and the indication that it was his turn. Standing up, he walked over to where Xavier was seated, he placed a hand on his comrades right shoulder and gave him a firm, yet gently squeeze and handed him the bottle of soda he was holding. Despite not being too accustomed to technology, Jett was still capable of noticing the minor details with his, including when they felt out of sorts. Guess that comes with being the oldest of five siblings... he thought, hoping that time would allow him to become better acquainted with Mythos.
"Where Xavier might be weak in, those are usually my strengths" Jett replied simply, beating one of his fists against his chest. "As stated earlier, my name is Jett Davenport. I may not be good with tech, but I try to make it up with my fighting capabilities." Walking back over to his belongings, he picked up Scath and Svart. "As you can see, what Xavier doesn't end of smashing, I end up slashing" he said, hefting both of his weapons so Mythos can get a better look. "I am primarily a close quarter combat fighter. Although..." he added, putting both Scath and Svart together and transforming them into Semurhat. "I can also hold my ground at mid-range with my automatic shotgun, Semurhat."
Resting Semurhat on his seat, Jett turned to face Mythos again. "Lastly, I am primarily the tank of the group and best fighting in the frontlines while keeping the enemies focused on me. Here is where my semblance comes into play." Sticking his foot so that it touched the shadows underneath the seat, he activated his semblance. Letting the shadow of the chair as well as his own shadow engulf his body, he focused his now glowing eyes onto Mythos. "My semblance allows my defense to grow exponentially. The more shadows I consume, the stronger the defense is." Deactivating his semblance, Jett took a seat next to his belongings as the shadow armor dissolved off of him. "As for getting to know me, I'm come from a simple lumberjack family and have five younger siblings. Aside from that, feel free to get to know me more."
Giving Mythos a big smile, Jett made himself comfortable in his seat by leaning in it while resting one arm over the chair holding his belongings. Taking a sip from his soda, he turned his attention over to Lien and motioned slightly with his head to let her know that it was her turn to speak up,
-
Lien smiled while taking the drink from Jett, sipping it as she listened to her teammate explain how he was of use to the team, after Xavier had done the same and Mythos had shared a very important part of her past: she couldn’t remember it. Combat-wise, Mythos seemed like a good fit, a specialist in sniping and long-range combat, what the team lacked. Already knowing what Jett was saying, Lien studied Mythos’s face again. She couldn’t help but do so, there was just something about her that was… strange. The resemblance was striking, though there were obviously differences. Her new leader’s face was less full, with herself lacking the flat, almost hollowed cheeks Mythos had. Realizing she was staring and almost certainly in a way that could be interpreted as creepily, Lien suddenly was very interested in her water bottle.
As Jett motioned for her to introduce herself, Lien realized another thing. She had absolutely no idea what to say or do to impress Mythos. Xavier had his mechanics and his arm, Jett was had his semblance, what’d she have? And furthermore, all of the fancy lingo was lost on her, her trainer while Lien still served the Yaos was a bit more old-fashioned in his methods, and she didn’t exactly have many resources for such things in the Yao manor. ’Oh, I might as well just go on with it…’
“I guess it’s my turn now… Well, first, my weapons of choice.” Lien raised both of her hands, showing off the long nail guards on her fingers. “I call them Zhì and Zhōng, and they’re fine as in in combat, though,” she transformed them into their other form, “I mostly use them like this. They use kinetic and fire Dust, so my punches can pack more of a… punch.” Trying not to cringe at the unintended pun, Lien once again showed Mythos Zhì and Zhōng, this time not in their dormant form. She then stood up from her spot on the couch, lifting a leg behind her and grasping her ankle to keep her boots, or more specifically the long blades attached to them, visible. “These aid my kicks. And occasionally get in the way. Neither of my weapons are really very convenient outside of combat.”
“My particular style,” Lien placed a hand on her chest to indicate herself, “is strictly close-quarters, and such my skills are more specialized. My style is neat, light, and concise, my strikes quick and fast yet strong as well. It’s also based off of various martial arts, Savate and Sikaran in particular. The neat part can sometimes be a weakness in that it’s predictable at times, the consistency in rhythm contributing to that weakness as well.”
To lead into her next words, Lien flared up her aura, letting it visibly run through her. “Aura-wise, I’m the most skilled user. I can enhance some attacks with aura to make them do more damage, I’m more adept and concentrating my aura in certain places, and can heal more than the average user. Also, my aura itself is quite strong, able to take more as well.”
“I complement the styles of the other two in combat too,” she added. Jerking her head over at Xavier, she said, “As far as Xavier is concerned, I am fast enough to take care of the gaps he leaves and the enemies that are fast enough to escape, making up for his lack of speed at times thanks to the weight of his equipment. With Jett,” she paused to nod at said teammate, “I can take advantage of his way of absorbing most of the enemy force, keeping them on him, as I focus on defense a lot, trying to protect my aura level as much as possible. Sometimes it means that I drag things out too long for myself, but if in a team situation, Jett makes sure that doesn’t happen. In general, my role is to dispatch of more enemies more quickly and more effectively, as Xavier lacks the speed to and Jett is mostly keeping the focus on himself. The former leaves gaps and the latter may take more than he doles out, which is where I come in.”
Finished with her explanation of combat, Lien plopped back down on the couch, returning her weapons to their dormant forms and trying not to let any harm come to the furniture. Perhaps it’d be nice revenge against the Schnee man, but she wasn’t that petty, wasn’t going to stoop that low. Lien then remembered that she’d yet to share anything about herself as a person. She half-considered skipping it altogether, she didn’t really like divulging information about herself to others, even Jett and Xavier had only been told what was absolutely necessary about her time with the Yaos. “About me, I’m from Mistral, and am an only child. And, um… you’re very pretty as well, Mythos.” She left out the part where she was adopted and that her parents and twin had died in Vacuo when she was young, it was a bit too personal for a stranger, and even Lien knew that it’d be really heavy information.
-
Mythos had first listened to Xavier; a techy heavy hitter. While she heard about him being able to lift it did bring a question into her mind. Mainly how would his spine hold up with the lifting of tremendous weights. She just left it done that his aura would support him, but still. Mythos let the thought leave her mind and did notice him trying to cover up, it was extremely hard to keep behaviour patterns away from her keen eyes. Though she just let it slide and accepted the water that Jett had handed to her.
Jett, the resident tank of the team; she took note of his armor ability and made sure to keep that in mind should she ever need extra cover/protection. Nice to know that he could keep his enemies back with his semi-auto shotgun. Admittedly she was a bit jealous about how he had a family back home. The only thing she knew was a rundown village, her motorcycle and a piece of paper with instructions. At least those were her first clear memories. Fun.
Mythos noted that each of her team members were mostly close-combat orientated fighters. She did find this a bit odd. Granted, this might of just been because of the vast differences between her style of fighting and thiers. Speaking of which she made a note that they had each others backs in terms of forms of CQ fighting. "So we have got the tank, the heavy hitter and the nimble...uh deer. Maiden, that sounded weird in her head. Probably didn't sound too great with Myrhos telling her that she was pretty. "Oh, by the way, I can handle myself in close-quaters fine, just letting you know so you guys can focus on your fights and not worry about me. Mythos brought out the black tube and let the blade fold out, showing it with each blade lenght before letting the blade collapse back down into the handle.
"So I guess I'll be the one to deal with those who you guys can't reach." Mythos grabbed the handle of her blade and placed it back in its previous position on herself She grabbed the pistols and placed them underneath one of the cushions where her head had been previousl. "You guys don't mind me with keeping my shirt like this do you?" Mythos lifted the ends of her shirt slightly, obviously refrencing her prefrwnce for having her stomach exposed. Vacuo ain't a suit and tie type of place after all. "I can button up if it does make anyone uncomfortable." At the same time Mythos also lifted up her hood/wrapped up cloak off of her and laid it down with her sharpened symbol placed against the couch, not wanting a blade sticking into her while she was going to catch some sleep. Even though she still sat up properly, wondering about their responses would be, maybe it would tell a lottle more about themselves just by their reactions. Who knows.

Xavier had zoned out of the conversation as he absent mindedly tinkered with a black octagonal box. The drone of his leaders words became background noise as he contemplated the tast at hand. Atlas did not fuck around with security and certainly not with their dust supplies. It wasn't unusual for them to higher entire military units to defende one shipment.
So this begs the question, why them? A group of inexperienced 2nd year Students of a Valian academy. There was definitely something going on.
Looking up to check in what his leader was saying he noticed that she was getting comfortable. Xavier passively smiled completely ignoring the question that his leader asked. Completely unintentionally of course, Xavier seemed to be extremely focused on his task.
This mission has 'ambush' written all over it. They have a big target and the perfect scapegoat. he glaced over to Lien for a second before a spark coming from his box drew his attention back to it.
This isn't good...it makes me wish that our leaders mid drift was our biggest concern.
A flicker of energy from the box in his hands pulsed for a half a second before it went as quickly as it came. If Xavier had to be honest his leader wasn't exactly instilling calm amongst him. Lien had a very big target on her back right now, that racist conductor would not hesitate to blame her for anything that went wrong. And while in this delicate situation they get a leader that not only looks exactly like her but conviently has a blank memory? Yeah, no.
She was fine for now but Liens safety came first. His leaders sights better be kept on the enemy or she was going to be receiving a very quick and very swift hammer to the back.
The shape in his hand glowed a brilliant blue as a force field washed over the room. A steady pulse of energy emitted from the machine as Xavier let out a long sigh and wiped some sweat from his brow.
It was too early to be coming to rash conclusion but...it's better to be prepared then dead.

Listening to the two ladies on the team talk, Jett rested calmly in his chair, smiling at his teammates. Watching Mythos make herself comfortable as well as exposing more skin, Jett simply smiled and shrugged as he reached into his pack for a block of wood. "We might as well get comfortable" he exclaimed. Pulling out his carving knife, he began to work on his next wood carving. "By the way, Mythos." he called out, looking over at his team leader. "I do a lot of wood carvings. They're mostly for my siblings back at home, but I do also make carvings for my team. So please feel free to request a carving of anything and I'll do my best." Giving her a broad grin, he looked back down at his handiwork. "We are family now, in a sense." he added before putting his full attention in the wood piece. Perhaps a dog for Cecilia...she always wanted a dog... he thought, his mind thinking of his youngest sister.
Feeling a slight pang of homesickness, Jett focused his thoughts completely on turning the wood block into a dog. Taking a sip from his soda, he cleared his throat before noticing the blue light coming from Xavier. "You get your contraption to work, Xavier?" he inquired, arching an eyebrow at him. Despite watching him numerous times, Jett could never understand anything that Xavier did. Technology and robotic things were all so foreign for him so there was not much that he could do to help his teammate other than inquire how things were going.
-
"I'm fine with it," Lien replied regarding Mythos's exposing of skin. Though in truth it made her a little wary, she herself would never do something as... bold... as that. Some people called it being a prude, she called it being modest. But she didn't want to cause any trouble, and it wasn't doing anyone any harm or anything.
Now directing her attention to Jett and Xavier, Lien took interest in what they were doing. "Jett's made me a few carvings," she piped up softly. "The lotus one is my favorite. Less a 3D thing, more a frame with a design on it. Here, it was something like this..." she adjusted her position on the couch so that she was on her knees and facing away from the rest. Lien then unbuttoned her outer jacket/dress, letting it slide down her shoulders to about her elbows to show her tattoo on display thanks to the backless-ish nature of her halter top. "He based it off of this, though he added some unique things." Done, Lien pulled her outermost layer up again, fastening it and turning back around to face the rest of her team. "If he makes you one, you'll love it." Lien tried-and only barely succeeded-at a small smile directed at Mythos, hoping that her choppy sentences weren't all too bad. Most of the time she was very quiet, but Lien was trying to make an effort to talk more for the new leader.
-
"Cool It suits you very nicely, Lien." Mythos brought herself up to sitting normally on her seat, as Lien talked about Jett's wooden sculpting and smiled back at Lien, she would need time to get use to this, trying to figure herself out and being around other people. "So... since I am the leader I think this goes without saying but, if any of you have any problems. Feel free to come to me. While a lot of things will seem new to me, I do think it would be best to start acting like a proper leader. I might also learn something about myself if i'm lucky" If Mythos was going to lead a team she thought that she should start acting like it, while she had no idea what to do exactly as a leader besides instructions and leading, it would be best to start attempting to play the role.
"I may have to request one when I get a good idea of what I would like." Mythos had a brief moment of silence before another thought came to her mind. "don't worry about the Overseer, if he tries anything i'll put him in his place. As soon as you show him how powerless he is then he will shatter like a piece of glass." She said that if she dealt like those type of people before, or at least held knowledge of typical personality traits and how to bring them down to break their confidence.
-
The glow faded away as Xavier turned off his machine and smiled at Jett."Its not everyday that a bug fix actually works. As the leader said, the overseer should not be a problem but wondering around the train alone seems like a stupid idea in general. Keep with your partner and we should be fine, speaking of which... "
Xavier locked eyes with Mythos and spoke with confidence
"Lien and Jett make good partners since his heavier fighting style complements her light one. Not only that but I will probably be the one in the back lines with you, giving you cover while simultaneously wreaking havoc to the enemies front line. If it's alright with you I think that we would make good partners atleast for the time being."
Glancing back to Lien and Jett, Xavier shot them a look that said please don't fight me on this. Xavier was well aware that he was talking more business then usual and if he could have it his way then they would have their old leader back. But that wasn't how the world worked and Xavier would be damned before something went wrong on this mission.
Standing up and parting his trench coat slightly a swarm of mechanical beetles flew out and exited the room. Positioned in the different train cars it would prove easier to stay connected if Xavier knew where everyone was.
Putting his feet up, Xavier finished his address to the room. He wanted to be more participative in the conversation but "Mythos" was showing way to many red flags for him to be comfortable. Ironic seeing as he is lying down, but until he knew he could trust this new leader it would be best to keep her as close to him as possible.
-
"I will have to say that carving that was a rather difficult one, though it was a good challenge" Jett replied as he looked first at Lien and then towards Mythos. Despite not remaking on it, he couldn't help but agree that those two definitely did look similar. Though their body structure was different, there was many similarities within their faces that almost made them seem like they were somehow related. Realizing that he was gawking a little bit too much at the two ladies, Jett quickly averted his eyes to what Xavier was saying.
Smiling broadly to himself as Mythos agreed to let him make something for her, Jett then turned his attention to his carving, though he continued to listen to the others talk. Looking up at Xavier when he offered to be partners with Mythos, Jett had to think about it for a moment. Doesn't seem like a bad idea... he thought, when he suddenly caught Xavier's gaze. Ahhh he thought, taking the hint. "I don't have any issues with that." Focusing briefly as he worked on carving around the legs, he then looked up and gave Lien a warm smile. "Lien and I work really well together so I don't mind being with her. What do you think Lien?" he inquired, cocking his head slightly to the left before taking another sip from his soda.
-
Lien smiled at Jett as he recalled the carving she mentioned. Then tried to keep up the smile as he kept staring at her and Linh. Then awkwardly averting her gaze, focusing instead on Xavier.
He apparently wanted her and Jett to team up, while he paired up with Mythos. Truth be told Lien kind of wanted to get to know Mythos a little better, it was a little weird seeing someone so similar to her. They looked like they could be related. Maybe she had Vacuan relatives? There was really no way to know, her family, her real family, well... Anyway, it didn't make sense strategy-wise, and she wasn't bold enough to make her suggestion. "Yeah, I'm okay with that. Jett and I make a good team. Hope you guys do too." Not really knowing what else to say, Lien fixed her gaze on her boots, fidgeting with them and sipping from her water bottle, occasionally biting her lips, to keep them non-chapped and naturally pink. Lipstick didn't work for her, so why not turn her habit into a way to keep them plump?
-
Mythos thought about what Xavier said, while that was true she did question having a slower player at the back. It was a train they were fighting on. She doubted that they would all come up to them and it would make more sense to have him at the front of the team and have Lien with her. Allowing the speed users to catch up should the fight have to move up. Bring a team mesnt working together, while she was the leader it wouldn't be a good choice to actually just demand that of her team.
"Wouldn't it be better if I had Lien with me. We are working on a train with multiple targets, while Grimm are a seperate matter, but if we do get attacked by the WF it would be best to make sure no teammates are behind the rest due to their speed." In an area like this, relocation would be quite common if they bad even a basic level of fighting skills. "Plus, I think getting to know the other girl on the team would be nice. Girl stuff and all" She really just couldn't believe she said that. Well admittedly she wanted to know some more about Lien. Maybe a clue on her past, very doubtful, but it wouldn't hurt to hope. Mythos took a drink of her water before sealing the lid. Crossing her legs and lining herself up with the couch. This was definitely going to be trying times for her.
-
Xavier paused for a moment and took a second to ponder his leader's words. It wasn't reassuring that she was inferring a WF attack in such...exceptional circumstances and requesting closer time with Lien. It was laughable how obvious she was being if she did mean to harm their team, but even if she was completely innocent Xavier wasn't taking any chances.
"Think about it this way, our job is to be guarding a single cargo. We were hired for Grimm, nothing more and nothing less. Our opponents will be coming to us no matter what and having the two ranged experts together would be great for a siege. If you want me at the front that is fine but you'd be pretty defenceless since me, Lien, and Jett are in the thick of it. Next thing we know you could be in a sticky situation and we can't do anything to help you. Had this been any other situation like an infiltration I would agree with you without question. But since Jett's and Lien's ranged capabilities are....limited it would be better if you had a partner to stay with you. Its the reason we work in cells."
Most of what Xavier said was just unbiased fact. If a Grimm sneaks up on their leader while she's alone in the backline it could lead to a lot of battlefield confusion and momentum loss. Which would be something crucial and they are under attack. If they were expecting white fang then it would get real nasty real quick if they had a hostage situation on their hands because no one was around to cover their leader.
"I will listen to what you say but you must take into the team weaknesses and lack of multiple ranges options is one of them. Not to mention I would rather you two had 'girl time' during free time no?"
Chuckling a bit to the last part Xavier listened intently to what he team had to say. He had hoped that he could keep Lien away from Mythos for a little while but even if he couldn't there were other ways to keep an eye on them. In the corner of the room a small bronze beetle perched itself.
-
Continuing to work on his carving, Jett briefly looked up at Xavier and Mythos. Thinking about the situation, he could see both sides being a good idea. Sensing a slight tension building up between the two, Jett decided it would be best to step in. "Both seem to be a good idea" he stated, continuing to focus on his carving. "I personally would prefer if I worked with Lien as we could probably do a better job at holding the enemies at bay while you two work on taking them out from afar." Looking up at Mythos, he gave her a warm smile. "Also, with the comments the conductor made about Lien, I would feel more comfortable being the one watching her back just in case something happens."
Turning his attention over to Xavier, Jett simply nodded his head once. "In the end, Mythos is the leader, so if she wants to team up with Lien, then we can just go with that" he stated, turning to nod his head in acknowledgment to Mythos. Regardless of the situation, there was a reason that Mythos was picked to be the team leader and not one of the other three. "I trust that you will make the right judgment call, Mythos." With all that said, he simply turned his attention back to his carving, working meticulously on the legs so as to not crack or chip the wood.
-
Lien watched the discussion unfold, feeling very, very useless just sitting there and being argued over. She wasn't really too good with strategy though, so contributions from her would always be few and far between in that category. "You're so thoughtful Jett, it's nice to know that you care. That conductor did seem to be problematic." She sighed. It wasn't like all Faunus were White Fang, the suspicion she sometimes got for being one, the suspicion she was getting now, it was such a burden. "We do work well together," she admitted, "we've done a pretty... bang up... job before. Nonus used to be our long range, and he used to work pretty well with Xavier in the plan he suggested. Plus, I'm strictly close-range and you're mostly long-range. I work best in the front, you work best in back." Lien fidgeted with her hands. "Still, do whatever you think is best. I don't know, maybe you've come up with a secret, really effective pairing. Your choice." Yes, she did want to spend some time with Mythos. But strategy was important too.
-
"Well, I guess well just go with your plan then. I'll team up with Xavier while Lien teams up with Jett." While Mythos' vpice remained completely neutral, she did in fact want to team up with Lien, mostly for the fact that that their similarities were uncanny.
"Democracy wooo." Mythos mananged in the most sarcastic tone which she was physically capable of doing. Which was admittedly lacking some substance but got the message across for the most part.
-
Xavier let out a sigh of relief he didn't even know he had been holding. Throwing a glance of gratitude towards his two other teammates Xavier relaxed as the tense air that had settled in the past few minuets dissipated.
"Thank you for understanding Mythos it means a lot to me. Perhaps we could schedule in some down time later if you want to get to know Lien better. I know what its like to be a new person in a new place, at some level we all do. I'm sure that you'll find time to get to know everyone eventually."
Xavier spoke with a calm tone, one that resonated calm. Xavier was no fool, he could clearly sense the displeasure Mythos had with the plan. He hated coming off as a know-it-all resister, it was one of his down falls, but he would rather be a know-it-all then take unnecessary chances. Not to mention that if Mythos was who she said she was, they would have plenty of talking time to figure out the strange resemblance.
Not exactly knowing what to do or where to go he decided this would be a good time to kick it back for a bit. At least until their leader told them otherwise Xavier was perfectly content with fiddling away with his inventions.
-
Sensing that the tension had somewhat dissipated, Jett looked up at the others. Nodding first at Xavier and then at Lien, he decided that it would be best to try and break the tension completely and let everyone relax a bit more before any fighting begins. Standing up, Jett walked across the cabin and sat next to Mythos. "We'll make sure to have plenty of downtime after this so you can have your girl talk with Lien" he said, beaming a smile at Mythos. "Just make sure to save some time for me since it doesn't look like I'll have any time with you anytime soon and I may start to feel left out." Nudging her with his shoulder, he laughed lightly before looking briefly at his carving. Despite this possibly being awkward for Mythos, Jett trudged forward. Being part of a large family, he was used to being the awkward one in order to try and cause his siblings to smile or laugh.
Looking carefully at Mythos briefly, Jett still couldn't get it out of his head how much she and Lien looked so similar. Despite some features being different, like Lien's faunus features and smaller physique, he still could see a lot of resemblances."How about a motorcycle?" he inquired suddenly. "I've never carved one before so it would be a good challenge." Looking over at their team leader, he tilted his head slightly to the left and gave her a smile, hoping to lighten the mood even just a little bit.
-
"Yay, girl time..." Lien said, trying and failing once more to be cheerful. She hoped that Mythos didn't see her pathetic attempt as reluctance, because that wasn't it at all. To be honest Mythos was... different, in a way. Lien wasn't really sure if that was a good thing or not. But she seemed nice enough, and she just looked so much like her... A familiar face was always hard not to trust. Or want to trust.
Lien tilted her head almost cutely in curiousity when Jett suggested a motorcycle. "Reminds me of a toy," she remarked. "Not that that's a bad thing though. Challenges are always nice, and making it look more refined will be one." She sent a smile Jett's way, hoping that she hadn't accidently implied that Jett's carving wasn't refined usually. After though, she just hugged her shoeless legs to her chest, getting comfy and just relaxing, not sleeping for fear that something would happen that'd catch her off-guard.
-
"I'll be sure to make time for you Jett, I do suppose that it is necessary as a leader to know who they work with, right?" Mythos looked at Lien again, it was a weird feeling, looking at what just seemed like a mirror that revealed an alternate reality, one without the mystery, with knowledge of who she was, of what she was before.
Mythos averted her eyes to Xavier for a moment, his insistence on being partnered with her, to not let her be partnered with who she wanted. Her instincts, or at least what she thought were her instincts told her more then normal people would see on the surface layer. It was best just to go with Xavier wanted for now.
Looking over to Jett again, about a potential carving, she thought about a motorcycle. but something simpler would probably be best."A motorcycle sounds like a wonderful idea, to sharpen your skills is always beneficial, no matter for what use they would be in. But should it prove to hard, I would like to request a carving of my symbol." lifting up the metal symbol that kept her cloak in its position to give a clear view. "If that is alright with you." Laying back down on the couch as she got comfortable, they had some time until they got out of Vale. "We should catch some shut eye, that includes you Lien." Without another word she closed her eyes and drifted off.
Timeskip
Mythos currently sat on top of the train cart, just recently exiting the protection of Vale's borders. Silent Night resting on the inside of her leg and against her shoulder, her sunglasses covering her eyes from the winds that blew past the train. She was enjoying the quiet, alone and with time to think. Especially without the presence of Xavier. Taking her mind off of him and thinking towards Lien. She didn't know why, but, she just seemed to feel that extra bit calmer when she thought about her. Probably just the resemblance between them two. 'That has to be it. Nothing more. Positive.'
-
Xavier took this time to do what he did best. Studying and inventing were the things that made him happy and allowed him to take his mind off things. Lit by the soft blue glow of a holographic screen Xavier sat down near one of the cargo cars bearing one of the Schnee package. Fidling and tinkering with a little ball a small amount of smoke started to fly. Ignoring the small plume, Xavier took a glance at a monitor that hovered beside him. The monitor had a handful of different screens, each one displaying a different scene on the bus through the eyes of his bronze beetles.
My greatest invention...surprisingly turning out to be not a cannon or a weapon, but a little computer the size of a beetle.
Leaving the sphere abandoned for a minute, Xavier grabbed the holographic screen and looked for anything interesting happening on the train. It wasn't until a beetle caught sight of Mythos that he stopped and took a moment to ponder. The sight of her on the top of the train was a reassuring one but also one that sent a pang of guilt through him. He had been a bit harsh earlier, that was a given. But Xavier stood firmly to his belief that it would better to be cautious and analyse before rushing in.
Still, maybe there would be time to make up and get to know his leader better. He was sure there was a way to match the faces of the two girls and if there wasn't; Xavier was sure the technology wouldn't be too far out of his reach.
The distinct sound of a door opening snapped him Xavier out of his musings. Closing the holo-screens and picking up the tinker-ball Xavier faced the door to greet whoever was on the other side.
