CHARACTERName: Yu Feng
Age: 44 (Born 18th of Machlud)
Species and Gender: Human Male(Mistralian)
Symbol:Occupation: Huntsman
Appearance: Feng stands tall at 6'2" with toned, well-muscled body weighing in at 174 pounds that appears much younger than his age would indicate. A trio of long scars on the left side of Feng's face run lengthwise from his scalp down to his chin and appear visibly deep, indicating just how severe the wound must have been when he received it. His dark brown eyes practically melt into his dark brown skin even as the sun shines off his bald head. Most striking however are the twining tattoo patterns that cover much of Feng's face and body.
Outside of battle Feng dresses ascetically and plainly, preferring the simple dark robes and garments of his order over anything else but is willing to dress appropriately as needed. His battle armour, which he will commonly wear in normal circumstances, consists of Plate Mail Pauldrons, a Plate Mail Breastplate over his Robes, Leather Wristguards and Steel Battle Gauntlets, A large Belt, Tassets covering his upper thighs, and Heavy Steel Sabatons. Much of Feng's armour is interspersed with fabric from his robes, which are Burnt Umber Brown in colouration.

History: Mistral. A centre for art, culture and knowledge on Remnant even as the ever rising tide of Grimm moves to swallow all before them. In the cities the people are promised peace and respite from such horrors but what of those souls who choose life outside the capital, far from Mistral's armies and so off the beaten path that it could take a Hunter far too long to reach them? What means of defense have they against the darkness? They have two choices ultimately; blissful ignorance until death... or fight back. The Monks of the Adamant Hand chose the latter option. Not simply as a means of survival but in conscious support of the ceaseless conflict the world finds itself in.
Along the steep wind-carved cliffs of Mistral and away from the hustle and bustle of Mistral City lies the secluded village of Liushi. Home largely to shepherds and miners eking out a humble existence there is one extraneous detail of this rugged town; a monastery, humble in size but strong and grounded to its cliffside foundations. This is the seat of the Monks of the Adamant Hand, an order of warrior monks whom through meditation, scholarly pursuits, and rigorous physical training to understand the nature of conflict and master it like the kings of old whom were both philosophers and warrior kings. And it was into this world Yu Feng was raised. Not born mind you; no he was the son of the town's blacksmith and matron of the local shrine. A wild and capricious child from the start Feng proved to be unruly, lazy and possessing the attention span and mannerisms of the goats his neighbours herded so carefully... yet also demonstrated a ceaseless optimism and altruistic spirit that saw his parents and loved ones through many a harsh season.
Hoping to give their son some sense of order and discipline to bring out his true potential Feng's parents sent him to begin training amongst the Adamant Hand. The monks managed to temper at least some of his wilder habits during Feng's time there but at the end of the day he simply did not have it in him to live the contemplative life of a monk; he sincerely preferred combat training over long, drawn-out lectures on scripture and living in the moment over contemplation. Thankfully for Feng he excelled in the martial training of the Adamant Hand and by 15 had been assigned to the monastery's guard force, tasked with patrolling the immediate environs and destroying any Grimm that might threaten the order. An arduous undertaking of course; though the Adamant Hand commanded powerful martial arts and tactical awareness, they weren't Hunters and therefore faced much greater peril in battling Grimm. Many a young aspirant was lost in battle against a lone Beowolf or Nevermore, and it was during a particularly gruesome battle against an Ursa Major and its pack that Feng awakened his Semblance and proceeded to wipe out the remaining Grimm before falling into unconsciousness from his wounds.
During that crucible and the interim healing period Feng came to a realization; that though he might consider the monastery his home he could not in good faith stand idly by while such monstrosities roamed the land and harmed innocent people not so different from his loved ones. To his mind an overabundance of Grimm was an imbalance in the world that needed to be checked as the Adamant Hand proselytized. Upon healing Feng resumed his training for another two years. At 17 he takes a leave of absence from the Order to travel Feng set out with only the barest of necessities, bidding farewell to his friends and loved ones before setting off. His destination? Haven Academy.
