Nodding slightly as he listened to Camelia's plan, Oberon smiled slightly under his mustache.
Not bad...not bad at all he thought as the others pitched in their opinions.
"That is a decent plan young Camelia" Oberon said after the others.
"Go ahead and do your plan, but remember this" he added, giving Camelia a calm stare.
"Plans do not always carry out as we would like so be prepared to have a backup plan as well as another plan in case all hell breaks loose." Looking over at the pilot and then back at the team, he took a moment to look at the others.
"Also, though the forest would be the perfect for an ambush, the roads will be just as dangerous if a swarm comes at the town. Even the best of plans can fall short under a swarm so be ready for anything." At that, Oberon leaned back as he awaited their arrival.
One Hour Later
Hearing the pilot yell that they had arrived, Oberon stood up and grabbed his things as they landed. As the back door opened, Oberon turned to face the team.
"Well, shall we then?" he said with a smirk as he walked off the airship. Looking ahead of him, he saw the wooden walls of the town ahead of him. A few blackened spots on the wall as well as a few blown through areas indicated the fight with the bandits a few days prior. Despite all that, the village didn't look too damaged. A few dozen or so rooftops peaked out above the wall, with a few of them showing damage from explosions.
Walking up to the closed gate, a man popped his head up from behind the wall, a heavy assault rifle pointed directly at Oberon.
"Halt! Identify yourself or we will open fire!" he yelled as two other men popped up and pointed their own weapons at the teacher. Holding his hands up, Oberon looked first at the two and then at the man.
"I am Professor Oberon Falcov from Beacon Academy. I, along with a team of students, have been sent here to offer assistance and protection until reinforcements arrive." Looking behind at the students, he turned to give his attention back to the man.
"I was informed that we are to report to the captain of the guard, Carmine Karalis. Would you please direct me to him?"Still wary of the newcomers, the man continued to point his weapon at Oberon for a little longer before lowering it.
"The man you're speaking to do be the one you're looking for" he said finally, gesturing with his head to the others who immediately disappeared.
"I apologize for the precaution, but we've been on high alert ever since the attack." As the man spoke, the gate was slowly opened to to reveal the inside of the town.
"Reinforcements are greatly appreciated" he said, holding his gun on his shoulder as he jumped down to greet Oberon, hand extended.
Taking hold of Carmine's hand, Oberon shook it firmly.
"You can never be too cautious" he said as he turned to gesture the students to follow as Carmine led them into the town square.
Town layout. Just imagine a wooden wall surrounding it as well as a dense forest opposite of the ocean. It's the closest thing I could find that was acceptable. We are coming in through the west side (left side of the picture).
