"No high ground anywhere I can see," said Argus to the others. "If we want it, it's going to have to be on buildings. There's also forest everywhere; my shadows might take a while to search all that."

Cordelia sighed. "This is gonna be a long day." She eyed her surroundings once more. "Might as well head to the watchtower. At least Ill get a good view and hopefully some peace to finish my homework..." She smiled at Talen. "What are you going to do?"

(OOC: Ok so something to mention when out of combat it's fine if people have conversations but try and keep it fairly short, but when we get into combat stick to the posting order(the order of your first posts) idk how much RP you've done Mortos but that's generally how things roll around here otherwise things get hectic)

 Kale took her scroll back and pocketed it, before doing anything else she turned to Cordelia and Talen saying "Do what you guys want for now but see if you can get anything out of the villagers, I'm going to talk with the old man to see what he knows, when we're done here meet up at Argos's body.", without waiting she turned and climbed up the watchtower and seeing the view took her back a bit albeit a less spectacular sight.

She shook her head and focused addressing Argos first she said "Hey Argos, scout out a mile radius for me I want you to know as much as you can within a mile before we head out.", then turning to the old man Kale sat down next to him and asked "So Mr. Suthers what can you tell me about what's going on here? I know the basics but I would like to hear what you have to add to it.

Talen nodded at Kale and gave Cordelia a wondering glance. The village seemed to be just like any other with no particularly interesting things to take note of, well not that Talen would care about stuff like that. Shrugging at Cordelia she started wandering around the village grounds in search of something to do.

(Thanks for the heads-up; I've done plenty of RP, but usually with a formal rule system like D&D or Shadowrun. I'm still unaccustomed to something as freeform as this.)

Argus snorted. "My body? I'm not dead when I'm doing this kid." The shadow on the tower flickered and disappeared, and two more appeared near Argus and ran into the forest to join the other six.

Suthers had gotten his bearings and returned to a sitting position by the time Kale reached him. "You wondering what's going on here? I'll tell you what's going on here! I'm being shunned by everyone just because I saw what killed my livestock! Bunch of damned cowards, they are. Eh, but who wants to hear the ramblings of an old man? I take it ya'll are the help we requested? Then you take watch and I'll get some shuteye," he said and then propped himself up in the corner of the watchtower and started to doze off.

As Talen wandered around the village, some villagers who seemed to be repairing an animal pen, called out to her, "Hey, you there! If you're not gonna be on watch, come help us out here!"

Kale looked at the huntsman before he disappeared then turning to the old man she wondered why she even tried talking with him but reserved her words and started keeping watch. After watching for a while she started enjoying the scenery as she stood there waiting for something or someone too show up.

"Wait a minute, what did you say?" Argus stands and goes over to Suthers before the farmer manages to doze off. "What killed your livestock?"

About the time Talen wandered off, Cordelia was making her way around the watchtower. Obviously she left her comms on to overhear her current team. She giggled at the man yelling at Talen but was quickly distracted by the question of the livestock. She stopped in her tracks and listened closely.

Talen's ears twitched as she heard someone calling for her and she promptly walked over with a bright smile on her face. Looking at the broken animal pen she wondered whether this was connected to the attacks too.

"Hmm? What happened here? She asked, hoping to get more information. Though helping a bunch of villagers catch animals or repair a pen didn't seem to be either.

"Wait a minute, what did you say?" Argus stands and goes over to Suthers before the farmer manages to doze off. "What killed your livestock?"

"Wha- You really want to know? No one in this village believes me, but I seen a big ball o' spikes rip right into my barn. Damn thing killed my cow and three hens a'fore I could even git down there. I tried shootin' the thing, but I couldn't hit nothing that fast. It flew 'round that barn like a demon, killed everything in the damn place, and then took a dive into a hay bail and up and vanished!" Suthers explained with lots of emphatic hand-waving.

"Well, a couple months back, something came through here. Was only around for 'bout four nights, but it killed every last one of our animals. Damn thing only attacked at night, an' soon as it ran outa' food, it disappeared. Anyway, we got some generous neighbors who're shipping us a new litter of piglets, and we've gotta fix some pens for em'. Now get over here and help out, or do you want to be paid?"

Argus frowned, but nodded. "Went into a hay bale, you said? Did you check under the bale to see where it went?"
