Argus didn't pause in his search as he replied, "Huntsman training is what let me get over my blindness and fight in spite of it." He chuckled. "I'll admit, my Semblance helps, but I've proven I can fight without it in a pinch. If I hadn't become a huntsman, I'd still depend on it for everything."

Talen nodded firmly and excitedly started positioning the boards in place. Hammering away she noticed a little too late that one of her nailswas hammered in at a bad angle and popped out the side rather than through the wood. Frustrated she took the backside ofthe hammer and yanked it out accidentally splitting the wood around the nail a little.

Damn. This is a little harder than I thought, father made it look so easy. Determined to do it right the second time she held firm onto the nail, making sure to not let it go astray. Slam. It went in. Good. Slam. A little more. Squish.

Yelping in pain she dropped the hammer and cradled her index finger, having hit it with the hammer. You'd think that kind of stuff only happened in the movies, not in real life! With her aura quickly patching her finger up she picked the hammer up again and started again, this time at a slightly lower height for morr accurate strokes.

Argus materialized a shadow next to him and went over to the hay bales, looking around on the ground with his shadow for any sign of a tunnel, collapsed or otherwise.

Argus found nothing under the first few hay bales, but one was different. Its middle seemed to have been put through a blender, making the whole thing considerably shorter than the others. Further investigation underneath the hey bale revealed a slight depression in the ground, but nothing else stood out.

Kale found that the remains of what had once been a chicken coop. It was a bit unorthodox, but if the rest of the village was to be believed, Suthers had had a few screws loose even before the attack. Besides that, little chips of wood had been scattered all over the barn, and bloodstains adorned the walls where animals had once been kept.

Argus walked over to Kale at the former chicken coop, leaving a shadow at the depression in the ground. "We're definitely after a burrower. One of those hay bales is shredded all the way through, and there's a dip in the soil right below it."

Talen grinned and replied, "Something like that I guess. For all we know it could be something else. But don't worry we're foing to protect everyone here!"

As she exclaimed the last bit she raised her hammer and nailed a plank down with proper alignment, finally finished with one side. She was proud ofnher work but seeing several other planks she groaned and unconsciously started hiding her fingers in her palms.

Kale looked at the bloodstained walls and following the faded path of disturbance she came to the same conclusion that Argus did right before he voiced it, she nodded and said "Yea looks like Suther's isn't as crazy as the villagers think he is.", she put a finger too her earpiece and said "Hey guys looks like we have a burrower on our hands keep your ears open and your eyes peeled."

"If it's a burrower," mused Argus, scratching the stubble on his chin, "we probably won't be able to chase it very well once it figures out we're after it. We should set a trap, and a good one. We'll only have one shot at this."

"Uhm..how do we make a trap for something underground? Burry a mousetrap?" Talen muttered, her mind focussing kn not hitting her thumb aga- "Owie! I hate this stupid thing.."

"Not that kind of trap, kid," replied the huntsman. "More like putting a particularly fat cow in the open and waiting for our burrowing friend to try and attack it. Something along those lines, anyway."

I've been sorta' like a leader 'round here since that thing attacked us. Care to tell me your name?"

Kale thought for a moment and looked to Argus with a look in her eye that spoke of an idea that under normal circumstances would be insane, but in this case might be just what they needed. All she said was "Well instead of a cow how about one very pissed off fox faunus."

Argus raised an incredulous eyebrow. "If you think you can pull it off and survive, we've got your back. A good hard stare from Onlooker here should be able to knock it on its ass once it shows itself, but that still leaves the issue of getting it to stay put once it figures out it can't kill us."
