Making a Scene (Open)
« on: September 26, 2016, 05:51:40 AM »
[This takes place outside the auditorium, following on from Sigurd's exit in 'New Students and Temporary Visitors]

There was a spring in Sigurd's step as he strode out of crowded auditorium. It was barely an hour since he'd woken up, but he'd already found himself a fight. And, by the sound of things, Yngvarr had even more of it lined up for him once this was done.

He made his way down the path, stopping at a row of trees a hundred metres from the building and setting down his statue. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and some poor sod was about to get the crap beaten out of him. His smiled contentedly. This was exactly why he'd joined the Academy in the first place.

He settled low into a splits stance, bending one leg and bringing his weight over to it to produce a sharp but bearable pain, and held the position. Then he turned his gaze towards the older student.

"Say, you're a magician, ain't you? Don't suppose you know how to magic up some food? I'm starving here."

Yngvarr stood a few metres away from the two. This would be fun to watch, but he wouldn't participate himself. He wasn't interested in fighting potential comrades. He took a seat that he could watch the match from and pulled out a bag of popcorn he had purchased on the way and waited for the entertainment to begin.

Galileo kicked his briefcase and it flips open, he pulled out a plate of cake, obviously one slice has been sliced off for the trick Galileo put on.
"I only have cake right now it's okay with you," Galileo smiled as he handed it to Sigurd. "Once you fill nice and filled up to fight, let's get it started then!"

"Oh, he's a magician, what's your muscles gonna do to him? Oh wait, don't want to tempt fate here, apparently my potential 2nd round is a brawler and everyone's betting he'd go far, farther than I'll, i.e. beating me. But that's why I'm here, watching and learning!" Catalina thought while picking a comfortable place and ready to watch some epic aura manipulation.

"Awesome," Sigurd grinned, shoveling cake into his mouth, "thith'll do nitheley. I kind of forgoth to geth thomethin' to eath earlier."

He reversed the stretch, shifting his weight onto his right leg, and proceeded to finish off the plate. "You know," he mused, licking the mess off his fingers, "if you wanted to show us a magic trick, the whole 'producing food' thing is probably the one you should have started with. Can never go wrong with free food."

Satisfied, he planted his feet together, straightened his legs, then bent forwards to place his palms on the ground. "By the way, who's the new guy? You here for the mission, or you just wanted a scrap?"

"Hahaha maybe I should whenever I perform at a children's birthday party, anyway him? He wants to talk to me after our little spar!" Galileo moves aside his briefcase and kicks it so it locks itself. He grabs his cane and puts his top hat on before smiling, standing it the most lax position, with his cane holding his weight.

Yngvarr watched as the magician produced a cake. That would have gone down pretty damn well with him. But when was the fight going to start?
"Come on! Do something" He shouted. Then he turned to the new guy. "So who's your money on?"

Sigurd yawned, straightening up and beginning to work out his arms. "Do something, do something," he muttered, "same old, same old. See," he addressed the rest of the small group, "most people, they don't really understand what it means to fight. All they want is action. And I get that, I do; but the thing is, some things are worth waiting for."

He began twisting his torso, coiling left, then right. "You want to fight, you don't want to be holding anything back. You don't want to hold back, you make damn sure that you're at your best. Otherwise, what's the point?"

After a few minutes of excercise, he stepped back into a preparatory stance, one hand held palm inwards before him. "Well then, I suppose we're just about ready." He beckoned with his outstretched hand. "Ladies first, as they say."

Galileo smiled and pull off his top hat while still leaning on his cane.
"For my first trick, watch as I throw a ball at you," Galileo then throws a ball made from his Semblance while yawning. The ball does not even reach Sigurd and just rolls a bit before coming to a stop. He gave Sigurd a childish smile and asked, "Nice speech, just wish you would just you know, hurry it up? "

"Fair enough." Yngvarr muttered. It was true that Sigurd had a disadvantage in that sense. But what he had went beyond brawn. He was inhuman in strength, and a single hit could be devastating fot Galileo. He settled down to watch the match.

Sigurd frowned as his bait went unanswered. "Thanks. Like to think I have a way with words. However," he narrowed his eyes, "you should have stuck with the cake."

He closed his eyes, focusing his mind upon the aura within. He opened his mouth, breathed in until his lungs felt fit to burst, then exhaled until there was nothing left. There it was.

The air around his body shimmered and warped as a series of orange fragments coalesced into existence. They spun around him, faster and faster, a hurricane of flashing lights, then all of a sudden grew still. One by one, They drew closer and settled upon his form until, after half a minute, the boy was encased in a shimmering suit of translucent armour.

"Dragon Hunter," he intoned mechanically, opening his eyes and sweeping his leg back behind him, "first phase: Hunter."

He smiled to himself. It was all show, of course- any ability which took that long to come into affect was useless as useless could be, so far as he cared- but the more he could mess with his opponent's head, the better.

"Do yourself a favour," he stated, with neither malice nor sympathy. "Don't get hit."

Then he kicked off against the tree behind him, using it as a starting block, and launched himself in a blur towards his opponent.

Galileo took a wide step to the side before Sigurd could bash the third year in. He casually picked up the ball that was still on the floor and holds it up.
"Here fetch!" Galileo threw it again lazily and the ball just rolls like before and stops like before. If anything, Galileo was not even being serious with Sigurd.

"Hilarious." Sigurd jammed his lead foot into the ground, converting his momentum into a spin, leaped into the air and lashed out at his opponent with an improvised tornado kick. But if you take this lightly, you're seriously going to die.

[OOC: Out of interest, what year actually is your character in? His profile says he's a fourth year but all of your posts say he's a third?]

(OOC: Would a wacky person like him tell you he is in fourth year?)

Galileo raised his cane to block the attack and held his position, feet spread apart. He then made another ball and throws it at Sigurd for fun.
