On a warm sunny day with a cool breeze in the air a woman walked down the street towards a coffee shop, Alice opened the door and ordered a large cup of black coffee. She sent a message to her daughter Sonya telling her where to meet if she wanted to hang out with her old woman.

Sonya beat down a training dummy working up a nice sweat. She swung her blade and stopped an inch away from the dummy when she heard her scroll go off. She put her blade on her back and walked over to the device. She picked it up and smiled seeing it was from her mother. She sent her a message saying yes. She grabbed her gear and walked to her room.

[10  minutes later]

Sonya ran to the coffee shop, jogging a nice pace. She walked in and stopped jogging seeing her mother. She smiled and walked over to her with a happy expression. "Hi ma." She said hugging the girl.

Alice stood up and hugged her daughter with a huge smile on her face "Hello there.", letting her daughter go she looked her over and joakingly said "Judging from your hair I'd say you worked up a good sweat."

"You know me so well. How you been?" She asked with a smile. She sat down and smiled at her mother.

Alice sat down and after taking a sip of her coffee she said "I'm doing good, been trying to keep up and patch things up with your other siblings but I think your brother has a grudge against me for not being there for him. As for your sister she has just been so busy that she hasn't had the time.", Alice shook her head for a second stoping herself before saying "Anyway how have you been doing?"

"Ugh." She dropped her head and sighed. "I hate history class." She said looking up and groaned. "Other than that nothing much, been hunting down Grimm and such. " She said drinking from her canteen.

Alice chuckled and sipped from her coffee, she set down the cup and with a surprising amount of interest "As my history teacher once said to me "If we can't learn from our past then we are bound to repeat it"."

Sonya just rolled her eyes. "And if that happens, I'll be sure to keep that idiot brother of mine from going to Atlas. Or maybe trying new pranks out on sis." She said with a chuckle.

That caught Alice off guard as she was mid-swallow and coffee almost shot out her nose as she burst out laughing for a split second, once it was over she smiled at Sonya and asked "How well have you been getting along with them anyways?"

"Rabe has been putting teams through the ringer with challenges, and Anita's been drawing and such, I can barely get her out of her room." She said sipping her drink. "How have your journeys been? Go anywhere fancy?" She asked with a smile.

Alice shrugged and replied "Ehh unless you call this place fancy cause it has an AC unit.", she chuckled softly before correcting "Most of the places I go aren't fancy, that is your fathers domain. I on the other hand sacrifice fancy for adventure and the natural thrills of life.", she pulled out her scroll and pulled up a photo, taken from what seems to be the top of a large hill looking out over a forest with a gorgeous sunset shining bright red and orange.

Alice looked at Sonya and said "I sacrifice shiny silver and polished stone for moments like that." she had a huge smile on her face.

"So pretty! Can you send me a copy of that pic?" She asked drinking some water. "Where else you been?" She asked waiting to hear more tails of her mothers travels.

Alice chuckled and while sending the photo asked "Well it depends what region would you like to hear about your ma adventuring in?", she took another drink of her coffee and said "I've been to all of the continents and a good deal of the islands so the choice is yours."

Sonya thought a little. "How about Shade." She said waiting to hear her mother speak.

Alice set her cup down looking up at Sonya said "Vaccuo and Shade are shall we say... a hard place for a kid to grow up, if the people don't outright murder you, you're on the right track."

She thought back to her last visit and said "If you ever visit or go on missions there bring lots of weapon repair and cleaning supplies otherwise the people are the least of your worries, that sand will tare your equipment to shreds if you don't keep it cleaned.", she took another drink and continued "Anyways last time I had the opportunity to go to Vaccuo I was on a search and rescue, White Fang picked up a council members kid and as you can guess they where quite peeved about it. My mission was to find the kid and get him home."
